Best coffee ever - was happy they were open on July 4th! Love their açaí bowls and pistachio croissants!

I have been here in the past two days because I have been working night shifts and I thought that better buzz would start my night off right. Unfortunately, it has not. Both nights I arrived around 7:30pm and the cashiers sounded unwelcoming and seemingly showed that they started to close everything down. Yesterday I thought it was an off day, especially because my drink tasted weird. Today I decided to give it another try and I got even worse service?! My coffee even tasted worse than yesterday's. It didn't taste like a hazelnut divinity and it even had a weird after taste. The banana bread I ordered wasn't even heated! It was straight up cold like it was taken out of a refrigerator. I also literally watched one of the bartenders make my drink and they literally just threw stuff together randomly (idk if there are proper proportions but it definitely looked like she was just trying to serve any drink). They didn't even bother filling up my cup! Y'all need to get better workers or change your closing shift requirements because I don't believe that I should be getting terrible service because it is close to closing hours. Is this the vibe your coffee shop wants to show its customers? It seems like I may have to find another coffee shop nearby. read more

Rude and terrible customer service. Ordered two hot drinks: Best Drink Ever and Mexican Chocolate. They both tasted watered down. I was already away from the location and had somewhere to be so I couldn't turn around. I called to let them know they were watered down and the person who answered asked what I ordered. She said Best Drink Ever is a water base drink so it should taste like it normally does. I said no, I've ordered this drink many times and it never tastes like what I had now. She then asked, "So what are you looking for? To replace your drink or just to let us know?" I said, "To let you know in case there's something you need to check and to be aware" She then asks, "Okay, is there anything else?" I said no and she hung up. read more

So glad that Better Buzz has a drive thru, it makes it really convenient to get coffee and I rather not go to Starbucks. The customer service was great. I love when a worker is honest about their opinion on the menu items here. Shoutout to the worker who helped me pick a drink, he was patient and funny. I ordered a Vanilla Bean Latte with half honey and got my drink really fast. It was pretty good. Prices are average but quality is good. Would definitely come back. read more

The one star is for the actual coffee. Mocha de Mexico is so good. Other than that, came to study, it's a small location which is fine but the cashier who took my order wasn't friendly, didn't greet or anything just asked what I wanted. The baristas were loud and someone was gagging loudly while the others were talking about whatever their topic was. It made the whole coffee shop loud, their wifi was down so I couldn't come to study on my laptop. And the floor where I sat was flooded. They knew because someone came and looked and walked back behind the coffee bar. No one cleaned it up or looked for ways to keep the floor safe for guest. Went in to try a new coffee shop because I'm kinda over Starbucks and a barista named Amy helped me through their menu. I wanted a coffee that was sweet but not too sweet and she suggested the "best drink ever". It came out amazing and definitely one of the better coffee's I've tried. The barista was awesome and very knowledgeable about what they had and how all of their drinks were made. This location is kind of small but with a great group of people (employees and customers) it felt very comfortable. I would definitely come back here again! read more

Pretty good lattes. All the drinks I've got have tasted good so far. Matcha latte tasted great. Good balanced matcha flavors. Orange infused matcha was nice. Nice citrus flavor to the matcha. Lavender black tea latte was nice as well. Decent balance of black tea flavor and lavender. Lavender flavor might not be strong enough for some people. Blueberry cornmeal scone taste good. Interesting texture and flavor of a scone due to the cornmeal. read more

I spend at least one day a week here doing work and I always enjoy it! I am gluten intolerant and never get sick from the gluten free granola in their açaí bowl! Same for the gluten free bread! The buzz is my favorite drink but I've never had a bad drink at any better buzz. I love this location for the friendly upbeat staff and music. It's a small location which I prefer over the behemoth of some other better buzz locations. The baristas are always working super hard on a million huge pickup orders, but still take the time to help with using the rewards app/greeting people and answering questions. read more

Drove 20 minutes to come and enjoy a cup of coffee and a pastry at your Miramar location. As my wife and I were about to enter, a woman employee held us from entering the cafe because they were "not taking any orders from the inside" --yet, there were 3 customers inside enjoying their meal. The excuse for not letting any customers inside the cafe was because they were "understaffed". While waiting in the drive thru line for another 15 minutes, we were able to count 7 employees inside and 1 outside taking orders. I've worked in the food/service industry for 5+ years, and I've seen laziness before, and that's what I sniffed here. To have a dining room closed on a Saturday (between 12-1pm) is not a wise choice for this location. I advise that management investigate this occurrence, as I feel that this may occur more often than not. Again, within my personal experiences, I have seen supervisors close down a dining area because of laziness. Overall, my experience was lackluster. I may come back again, but I hope that my wife and I can take a seat while enjoying a pastry and a coffee. read more

Beyond ecstatic that a Better Buzz has opened up closer to me! It can get cramped in the parking lot/drive-thru, especially at busy hours, the drive-thru line goes out into the street where you turn in from! Definitely take advantage of their easy online ordering system and pick the Patio pick-up option to avoid getting stuck in line! Staff was very cheery and were tending to all the customers as quickly as they could. Keeping in mind that this location just opened, it seems to be running pretty smoothly so far! I ordered the Best Drink Ever as it's been my long-time favorite, but might have to try different drinks since I can get to this location so much easier now! I did ask for "EZ Ice" online, but it seemed to have melted and diluted the drink, and still had a good amount of ice leftover. Was in a rush so I just took the drink and left, but will see if they can adjust it the next time I come by! read more

I have yet to find a Better Buzz that impresses me. I should have gone to the Starbucks next to this location. (I cannot believe I'm writing that because I usually opt for the local folk over the chain. But Better Buzz let me down again.) There is a Starbucks drive-thru on the next block over from Better Buzz. There is more parking and drive-thru space. Also, easier to get out of the Starbucks when trying to re-enter the busy Miramar Road. I happened to be in Miramar because I was trying out a new doggy daycare nearby. I was really hesitant to go Better Buzz because of previous unsatisfactory experiences from their other locations, but I was pressed for time prior to work. And I get it. . . They were busy. But I have seen busy coffee shops with drive-thru windows do so much better. Firstly, the place looked disorganized. Milk cartons were stacked next to the cashier taking orders. Finished drinks were piling up in the pick up area. And the place is sort of loud with the commotion in the preparation area--I was sort of getting stressed out watching them while waiting for my turn to order a drink. Secondly, service is slow. I knew it would be busy so I took my dog for a short stroll while waiting, but my drink still wasn't ready. Thirdly, customer service is subpar. I was waiting in the order area to check on my drink status but was ignored. Lastly, my iced almond milk latte was just okay after the whole ordeal. All the other drinks on the menu have too much sugar in them. So basically same average choices as a Starbucks' menu. read more

Today I stopped for coffee at Better Buzz drive-thru~ my first time here. Wow! What an awesome greeting! The young lady who took my order, Brittany, was upbeat, patient and joyous! It's wonderful when you can have a delightful exchange at 3 pm in the afternoon! The coffee and avocado toast was great...but the upbeat feeling I was left with, meant everything! Just overpay for your coffee at Starbucks and don't waste the drive down to Miramar. Entirely apathetic employees, literally zero morning people able to respectfully serve me, as I get an order to drive to this store at 8:20AM. I get there at 8:30, still waiting on my order. At 8:50, the food-runner tells me there is still time on the order, and I all but lose it. Four basic coffees, people are coming in after me and being served within minutes. I've been waiting to have one of these close to me! So yay, welcome to Miramar/Mira Mesa! I waited for the hype to die down, went to the drive thru- typical and expected line. When I got to order the worker was wonderful and answered my questions. I asked what his favorite was and I got the Mint Infused ice coffee (DELICIOUS BY THE WAY!) . The process/system they have during COVID is efficient. And I'll be seeing them again soon. If not tomorrow, maybe in a few days. Haha read more

The first time I came here I ordered the best drink ever and it was delicious! I became a fan of this place and it was a pretty sweet drink so watch out if you don't like sugary things. But I'm a fan and it did good caffeine. But every other time I came here (today I went at about 1PM) the drink was incredibly watered down and pretty bad. I know other places have non watered down drinks even when they are busy, so I'm not sure why this place has consistently watered down drinks. I'd recommend different locations of this place, it is not worth paying for an incredibly watered down iced coffee. read more

i will say i like this location better than the la jolla one. mainly because i can actually find parking. the coffee is super good and the staff is super nice. one thing to know is that this location is super small so if there are a lot of people inside it could feel crowded. and something that bothered me was that the music was on REALLY loud. but other than that it was a good experience. read more

A 4 star! Yes, I think this coffee shop has very good coffee and good customer service. The inside has an earthy decoration and nice atmosphere, which attracts many customers like me. QI usually like to get the killer bee. Strong coffee flavor with no sugar added is just perfect. Better buzz is the best coffee ever with the best drinks ever! We buy from this location at least 3 times a week at my work. I have to give it three stars because the sweetness is super inconsistent. We all buy the "best drink ever", varying sweetnesses between each individual and like today my coworker who got half sweet has a much lighter drink than my 3/4 sweet that tastes like it has no vanilla in it whatsoever. Last time I got 1/2 sweet and it was much sweeter than my 3/4 sweet today! I wanted it a little more sweetness so I figured I'd up the sweetness but nope it's like I'm drinking black coffee. This keeps happening over and over (my coworker complained about his tasting black last week). Better buzz is super close to being the best coffee joint ever if they could just become consistent. read more

Pretty tasty for coffee. I got their mint iced coffee & it was very creamy, just as the description said. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't really taste any mint but for a basic ice latte kind of drink it was good. I'll probably try something different next time that's hopefully a bit more unique. read more

Ordered the turkey pesto sandwich on their website for delivery and also paid for extra aioli on the side. The sandwich came with no pesto aioli at all and also no side that I ordered, when I called to inquire what went wrong the chef insisted she "double checked" and then proceeded to tell me she couldn't do anything about it and to take it up with door dash. I've been going to better buzz for years and never have I experienced such awful costumer service!! First messing up the order and then implying that I just didn't see the missing sauce? Maybe I need to try it when this place is busier but I had a good experience here! I went on the second day of 2022 (sunday) and there were like 3 cars ahead of me. There was a woman outside taking orders for the drive thru and payments which maybe (probably) made it go faster. I ordered a large iced chai. I got to the window fairly quickly, no longer than an average starbucks wait. I loved all the dog pictures at the window! Super cute ! My drink was delicious and I wouldn't change anything about it! Everyone was pretty friendly and I definitely want to go back and get some food next time as well as another chai. I noticed parking for online orders on the side and if they're still using that I may do that next time I try them but overall great service ! read more

EDIT: Despite the manager's reply, I haven't gotten a free drink and a free drink wasn't offered when I brought these issues to her attention. Someone appeared to have spit in my drink. I stopped going here for several months because their customer service sucks and they don't fill drinks to the top. Against my better judgement I gave them another try and they still leave about an inch of room at the top of your cup instead of filling it to the top. I brought this to the managers attention and she said if you want your cup filled, you have to ask for it to be filled, which told me that I'm dealing with someone of questionable intelligence and a complete inability to reason or think logically. I had them remake it and there appeared to be spit in my drink. Got a refund and left. I would avoid this place like the plague. read more

I'm giving 2 stars because these guys, although they're super nice, are misleading when it comes to explaining the dairy in their drinks. The Best Drink Ever has DAIRY in it! It's made with vanilla powder, and it does have a "small" percentage of dairy in it according to them. But yes, it does have dairy so it's NOT DAIRY FREE. If people ask does it have dairy/milk, they say "it's water based." But that's obviously a misleading response to someone who wants to know what's in their drink. Someone who's vegan, lactose intolerant, etc. So the better response would be "it's not dairy free." I hope they get quit misleading customers because there is a lot of misinformation online saying their drinks are dairy free. Anything that has the vanilla powder in it has dairy. read more

I've been meaning to try this place for a while and I finally did. I got an iced matcha latte with oat milk and the drinks came out pretty quick. It's really convenient that they have a drive thru too. The matcha latte was super good and not too grainy. It also wasn't too sweet either. The employees are so rude (I only say this because I've experienced it numerous times). The first time I ordered ahead, I didn't realize how long it would take. I walked in (10 minutes after I ordered) and was told that they still had 20 minutes to make it. I apologized and let them know I misunderstood. Then he said he would make an exception and rush my order. Huh? I was patient and was happy to wait. I waited outside, watching the employee bring other waiting customers their coffee and when mine came up, he looked right at me at set it on the counter inside. Today, I picked up my order and took a straw. The girl called me out and said there was one in my bag already and rolled her eyes and huffed at me. If you go, keep in mind: Drive Thru- Wait in the car line (can be a while). You place your order with the employee outside and they take payment. Proceed to the pick up window, where you are directed to park in a designated spot (next to many other waiting customers) and wait for 20 minutes. Order Ahead- The typical time it takes to have your order prepared is 20-30 minutes, so keep that in mind when ordering. Otherwise, you'll order ahead and end up waiting with everyone else. read more

What a great addition to the San Diego coffee scene. We got the vanilla bean latte and "best drink ever". Both drinks had great flavor but I liked the vanilla bean a little more because it was a little thicker. The drinks aren't too sweet and they let the quality of the bean shine! The flavor of the coffee is clean and crisp with lots of depth! We also got the acai bowl to try. It was pretty good with general portions. The acai mix itself was a little more tarty than I'm used to but still good! Definitely come here for your coffee! read more

I stop by here several times a week since its in such a convenient location! My go-to-drink is their coldbrew and recently they added a cinnamon cream cold brew which is also delicious. Honestly their drinks are on the sweeter side, a little much for my taste, but my family is a huge fan of their drinks, that they buy their vanilla powder. At this location, the staff are always so friendly and have a great system in their drive-thru to keep their service fast and efficient. Note: If you order a food item (heated) or a large number of drinks through the drive-thru, you most likely will have to pull over into a spot and wait a few minutes.
