Usually I like Better Buzz, but my visit today was really disappointing. The wifi was spotty and there are flies everywhere. The seats were not clean with crumbs in the c. I had to leave because I was so bothered by the amount of flies. Update 7/21/23: Coffee is great, wifi has drastically improved - its a much better place for students and professional to do work here. Did not spot a single fly, unlike last time. This coffee shop is such a vibe!! If COVID was not a thing, I could see myself grabbing a drink here and chilling to study. The place is very spacious with high ceilings and and industrial modern aesthetic. We came here because we wanted to grab an açai bowl before we left SD and some friends recommended these and they did not disappoint! They were creamy, packed with fruit and granola, super tasty and filling - exactly the refreshing snack I needed. Next time I'm back I will definitely try something off their drink menu. read more

Do better on uber eats orders the last 3 orders i have recived They have been wrong or missing something. I pay a lot of money to order from Uber Eats. And I'm a diabetic, so it's very important. I get what I order. I have notes on my Uber Eats to add a straw. A spoon and napkins never do I get them. I understand they're very busy. What! This place is incredible this alone makes me want to move to San Diego so I can be in an environment like this every morning going to get coffee. The customers even seem friendlier than any other coffee place. They use the lids so you don't need a straw and have paper straws if you do, cups made out of plants,love it. My friend had been raving about this place and took me there. THIS COFFEE SHOP IS SO CUTE! I didn't get to stay too long but all the decor in here can make anybody an Instagram model. Aside from all the hanging plants and light-up signs to showcase that you can't possibly continue your life without a sip of coffee, their coffee is actually pretty good, at a pretty pricey tag though. Call me old fashioned, but there are times when I don't quite believe in coffees being over $5. Not that I won't go and buy one to try, but just warning you that your Instagram likes will have a hefty invoice if you just want pics of your coffee here all day everyday. I envy you, San Diego. My friend would not stop talking about this place when I told her I'm heading down to San Diego to go lobster netting. Even when I got there, she messaged me twice as a reminder. I caved in due to her persistence. I guess she was right. I fell in love with the coffee right away. Even though I prefer my coffee in pour over or cold brew form, this milky goodness was well worth it. The açaí bowl was crazy good also. The location is cute as well. Everything here is done right. Absolute must whenever I am in San Diego! Better Buzz beats Starbucks any day! The location is in Hillcrest and only has street parking. I suggest finding a neighborhood and walking. There is ample seating area inside, outside, and upstairs. They offer food, tea, and coffee. The space is great for studying or meeting friends. Better Buzz offers milk alternatives (extra cost) and flavors if you want a specific flavor. This Better Buzz location looks cute and aesthetically pleasing with all the signs and decor. Many cute photo ops, if that's what you're looking for. As for parking, it is street parking only. Which may take some time to find since Hillcrest is a super busy neighborhood. I ordered the Vanilla Buzz which is almost like the "Best Drink Ever" but blended. Usually it isn't as sweet, since I've had it many times at other locations but this time it was overly sweet and tasted like a milk and sugar milkshake, instead of a blended coffee. I kindly asked the barista if she could make it less sweet and she said "yes but next time you should order something else, or add a shot beforehand." Overall this is a great location to get coffee if you're in the area. Usually the baristas are pretty nice and willing to fix your drink if you ask! Maybe I caught her on an off day. read more

Got this coffee last time I came down to San Diego and had to make sure to stop by again when we came into town. This locations interior was amazing with a huge area in the back to hang out if you needed a space to sit down with friends. We got the vanilla buzz again and it was just as delicious as I remembered. It's very sweet that it almost tastes like a coffee milkshake (but you can order with less sugar if you prefer). Beautiful space but way too corporate. More important, way too much plastic waste. The water station is plastic cups when it could be glass. There are straws for the taking even though they use the lids that don't need straws. The utensils are individually wrapped. The açaí bowls come in plastic bowls with lids when they could come in a compostable. A chain with this many locations could try a lot harder to lessen its impact. read more

I come here a lot, the food is always perfect and delicious. The drinks however, are almost always burnt, I get the iced vanilla bean. It's been 6 in a row now for me. I had them re make it the other day and it was exactly the same thing. For the amount I'm paying for these drinks it would be awesome if they tasted good. Nice spot! My first time at a better buzz and it didn't disappoint. I had a honey with vanilla iced latte. I like my drinks sweet and this was seriously the perfect blend. The line was just outside the door when we arrived on a weekend afternoon but it went by very quickly and the drinks came out within 15 minutes. Overall, the place itself is very chic and had plenty of seating despite how many people were there. Take a spin out of Starbucks and into this modern , hip joint where they have a HUGE menu of espresso, hand crafted hot or cold drinks, pastries, cold brew AND yes also food. Sandwiches, muffin, bagels, acai bowls. There are two levels - the top level is a bit more crowded/smaller. Downstairs is the spot, if you want the instragram kind of feel.. There are a few outside chairs and tables as well. I got the dragon fruit with bee pollen smoothie and was to DIE for. Warning, it did take almost 15 minutes to get though...chocolate crossaint was also delectible. I am digging this place & it will be a favorite for a while to come. Really good coffee. I got the caramel buzz it's like a frappacino style. They said they use a powder in all their drinks, so all of them are sweet. When I tried it, it was super sweet like it tasted like a sweet cereal or ice cream or Rice Krispies. So I asked the lady if I can get something else cause I can't drink this so I got the best day ever drink and omg it was amazing. It wasn't as sweet and it's an iced drink! The interior is nice, not many seats, there's an upstairs and the tables were taken and the other side was closed. Also they have a huge meeting room/conference room. Also they have food breakfast/lunch. There isn't a parking lot, so you have to park on the streets. Also the line is out the door. It's very open and airy, well decorated and even has cute saying on the stairs up to the second floor. I grabbed an Americano and a feta avocado toast with a poached egg. Both were delicious (I'm not a huge coffee person but I enjoyed it) and the avocado toast was well portioned with a huge slice of bread (just the way I like it). I took a lemon scone to go, and wish I could have that for my breakfast every day (not too sweet, light but filled you up). Wish I could have stayed longer to experience the store, but alas that will have to occur at another time. I am a die hard better buzz lover and this location is by far the most elaborate and beautiful of them all. I will say I am super lucky that I am able to walk to this location because parking is not easy in this area. This spot is bright, big, and beautiful and actually the headquarters for Better Buzz--no wonder! It's a place I'd love to come to work every day! And, the drinks are delicious, as usual. They are very compliant with social distancing and masks must we worn at all times. As you enter they have signs on which line to enter, they tell you where to wait and also where to exit.
