Came here on a weekday morning to get a buzz so I could type faster as I worked. I tried the new drink -- lavender chagaccino, which is available only in select locations for now. I loved it! The subtle lavender aroma was comforting and I felt like my focus was sharper after drinking the chagaccino. I'm not sure what bread it normally comes with because they ran out but I liked the sourdough it got substituted with. The drink tasted a little bit more refreshing than cucumber water with the added lemon. Overall not very sweet. Hospitality: Ordered from the drive-thru and didn't get a chance to check out the interior but service was fast. The order attendant was pretty patient with us as we had to take some additional time changing our order due to items being out of stock. There are three different Better Buzz locations in Pacific Beach, but out of all of them I would choose this spot to go to for the ambiance! The place is very clean and open so I great place to grab a coffee. If you have to focus on work, I would not recommend it here because the music and be loud and when it's busy and everyone is having a conversation, it gets incredibly loud. We ordered the 3-seed avocado toast, the Lavendar tea latte, and the orange matcha latte (not pictured). I will say that the prices are a little steep for what I think the value is, but not too far off from what I would expect in Pacific Beach. The toast itself had good flavor, but the bread was not actually toasted, which I would've expected based on the name. The Lavendar tea latte also had good flavor. I asked the cashier to adjust the sweetness to 15% when I ordered, and after I ordered the barista flagged me down to let me know that they could not actually do that with this beverage, but at that point the line was too long to reorder. It would've been nice if the cashier was more knowledgeable. The orange matcha latte also had good flavor, but tasted very watered down. I think I will stick with a normal latte or coffee next time I come here. read more

I think I've been to all the better buzzes around town and this one does not really stand out. I don't drink coffee so I cannot rate the coffee, but I like the chai lattes here, the smoothies, and the toasts. The last time I came here, which was in the fall, I got a chai and an elote toast. The elote toast was yummy, and very reminiscent of actual elote. I believe it was a temporary menu item since guy who took my order wasn't sure if they still had the ingredients. I usually get the three seed avocado toast though. The toast is really hard to eat with plastic utensils since it is hard with lots of toppings. The food here can be messy. I usually go through the drive through for convenience after coming home from the beach. The drive through is small and it is difficult to exit the drive through because of the busy street. read more

I've been coming to this Better Buzz location for a few years now since I live in Pacific Beach, and it's truly my go-to spot. The vibes are always great, and every single employee I've interacted with has been so kind and welcoming. I'm finally writing this review because of something that happened today that really meant a lot to me. I accidentally left behind a very expensive purse that had valuables and a significant amount of cash inside. I was extremely nervous when I realized what had happened, but when I called, one of the employees, a male employee whose name I unfortunately didn't get, had already kept it safe for me. Given that I've lost things in the past, this moment really stood out. The fact that someone turned it in and made sure it was secure speaks volumes about the people who work here and the integrity of this location. I was so grateful and honestly relieved beyond words. Between the amazing energy, consistently great service, and genuinely good people, I highly recommend this Better Buzz. Unpopular Opinion: I am not a big fan Better Buzz, especially the Pacific Beach West location. While the atmosphere is trendy and unique to each store, I find their drinks to be watered down coffee-esque beverages with lots of flavored powders. On my most recent visit, I ordered their drip coffee in hopes it would be better than their typical drinks that seem more geared towards children. I was in disbelief. It looked as if they used one teaspoon, or less, of grounds for the entire 16oz beverage. It was essentially water mixed with milk. My acai bowl came with two containers and I initially assumed the employees had placed it there out of consideration to possibly prevent condensation. However, when I threw away the empty container that was underneath the actual acai bowl, I learned that it was not in fact out of consideration, but laziness. The container that was holding the acai had cracks all across the bottom. Instead of remaking the bowl to ensure customer safety, they simply put another container underneath. I really hope the cracks were not from the bowl falling on the ground because that is extremely unsanitary! I am not entirely sure if I am wrongfully assuming Better Buzz is a coffee company or if the popularity behind this business solely comes from Instagram / TikTok influencers. read more
