We were welcomed by their polite host and were seated promptly. The décor looked inviting and they also took the order soon after. Part of the order came right away and tasted great. But the other part of the order came way late and was literally ice cold. We ordered the Maharaja thali and some of curries were ice cold and bread came much later. The batti in the thali was soft from inside when it's supposed to be crisp and dry. I would say the food has authentic flavor but they need to manage their orders properly. A recent Friday evening outing for a birthday, our group of 6 were excited to try this new eatery, 'Bhooke' in Little India. Upon entry, we noticed a tightly seated layout of tables/chairs and the high volume noise level. There was no one to check us in. Hopeful that we were going to enjoy dining here, we waited (awkwardly) near the bathroom area. A few mins later, a server approached and asked "how many" and seated us handing total of 3 menus. We also noticed there were just 2 servers who, understandably looked overwhelmed attending a full house. We each ordered different items - Papadi Chaat, Pav Bhaji, Choley Bhature x 2, Sartaj & Maharani Thalis. The Chaat order arrived quick.. in about 5mins and then began the wait for the rest of our items. Another 10mins later arrived Pav B and Choley B x 2 while the two Thalis took additional 15mins! It truly was a test of patience. Wish we could say the food was 'worth the wait' but to our great disappointment, quality of all, except the Papdi Chaat, were subpar and way below our expectations. We've been frequenting Little India for years and are very familiar with the regional food variations and flavors. Despite a fair priced menu, dining at Bhooke was a lackluster and highly dissatisfying experience leaving us with no intentions of revisiting. read more

Food was excellent, everything was flavorful but not too oily, over spiced or salty as most Indian establishments tend to do. My only suggestion is to train the servers a lot more. While they were young, sweet and kind, one could tell that they really did not like being there. No smile, no suggestions and we had to ask for spoons, forks, take out boxes/bags at least 2 or 3 times. Also they brought the wrong orders to our table 3 times. There is much work to be done to train these young souls if you wish to make your restaurant a success. Also the menu is way too extensive and probably should be tamed down a tad bit to make it easier on the waiters so they know exactly how to answer customer queries instead of making it seem like they are clueless! Beautiful lit and well decorated, was empty on a Sunday night. The air didn't smell like food, which I though was odd. Didn't like the mango lassi, they serve food in disposable plates. LOVED the sweet lassi, the Aloo tiki chat was also pretty good. They are quick with service also. Came here for lunch with my 6 and 8-year-olds. Ordered Chole Bhature, Gatte, Saag Paneer, and Shahi Paneer. Pros: Ok presentation. Good list of options Cons: SPECIFICALLY asked for extremely mild food because of kids and even myself as a mild spice consumer. The food was extremely spicy and absolutely inedible and we barely ate except the bread dipped into yogurts and a little bit of paneer and curry. Had to order multiple sides of yogurt for kids as they just could eat anything. I think they didn't even try to cook the mild version and just used the pre-made curry bases. The roti was too stiff and soaked in ghee. ordered another one without it. which was also stiff but at least not dripping ghee. My fundamental problem with such restaurants is that if you cannot accommodate the spice level for whatever reason, just let customers know because a bad experience is worse than no experience at all. NOT going back P.S: even though it doesn't say that in the list of ingredients, I strongly think that the curries had ground coconut in them. I asked the server to confirm and he was clueless. If you are intolerant to coconut, or "mild spice" that will burn your esophagus, look elsewhere. read more
