This place was packed on a weekday during lunchtime. The host was efficient but not a good communicator; he kept telling our group of 6 it would take 10 mins but it ended up being a 30 min wait- with a pregnant client in heels. Awkward. Thankfully, our client was very gracious and didn't complain. Once we were seated, service was efficient, but they were so busy that they did mess up a dish (tried to give me bulgogi pork instead of kalbi) - Seafood Pancake: i've had better. this was probably my least fave dish of the meal. But everyone else loved it, so...it was ok. I really want to bring them to an authentic Korean restaurant to try seafood pancake - Jap Chae: Pretty tasty - Sizzling Hot bibimbap: After the initial mix up (they did up a serving of kalbi on the side for me so i had 2 rounds of meat. ha), the bibimbap was flavorful and tasty. Last evening from the way back home from work, hubby and I were hungry so we decided to share a subway. When we got there though, we saw bibimbowl and decided on an early dinner. I got the hotpot with tofu and hubby got hot bowl with shrimp. I have had similar stuff in sunny bowl in mountain view. I used to like how the rice at the bottom would stick to the hot bowl giving it a crunch. It was like that here. The ingredients were good and the sauce was also nice. What I liked best was the kimchi pancake. It was freaking amazing. Suggestions: 1.would be better if rice sticks a bit to the bowl. Adds a good texture. 2. Portions were a little on the smaller side. 3. More topping options: just 5 options here: beef, chicken, shrimp,tofu and kimchi. Maybe add fish, a seafood combo, a mixed meat combo or maybe a different speciality veggie option. 4. Tofu priced same as other meat options. read more

Surprisingly good for an Asian place located within a business park! The food takes awhile to serve, so expect about a 20 minute wait after you've ordered. They say the stone pot bibimbab is the best choice here, (as opposed to the tofu soups). It was pretty good - but I think they could give more meat. (I ordered spicy pork stone pot bibimbab, and i think i got like 10 tiny pieces of the pork). I like the fact that you can order your dish with brown rice, and that it comes with a miso soup. I've had better kimchi, but the price & location of this place makes it one of my top choices to go get lunch (if I had to) during the day. read more

If you're expecting really authentic korean food, this is not it. However, it's a great option if you dont want to drive all the way to the Lawrence area to kill your Korean cravings and is in a prime location for servicing all the tech companies in the area. I got the bibimbowl, which has elements that wouldn't be in a bibimbap normally, but is delicious in it's own right. It's a bit on the pricey side but a yummy and vibrant lunch! I became a vegetarian about a year ago, and now without the addition of that sweet and savory beef, the price of the bowl isn't really worth it for me. There aren't a ton of selection at this Korean place, but I kinda like it like that. Their menu is clean and simple. You have several choices: Order a bibimbowl that comes in a stone bowl or in a regular plastic bowl, or you go for some tofu stew, or you get some sizzling hotplates. They offer a small selection of appetizers as well. I went for a hot stone bowl with brown rice, bulgogi, and citron soy. What is citron soy? I didn't know until I asked the waitress. She said it was like soy sauce but sweet, so then I asked, "so it's like teriyaki sauce?" and she gave me a blank stare for 5s before laughing nervously and saying "I don't know". So when the sauce came, I tried it, and it's slightly sour but a refreshing version of soy sauce. Hmm.. guess I could have figured that out from 'Citron' Limited selection sides. They brought out only Kimchi and Cucumber, whereas other Korean places bring out things like tofu, bean sprouts, korean noodle, fish cake, and other pickled stuff. Nothing really stood out from the bibimbowl itself, but I didn't expect it to since this place is going for a healthy type business model, which is great and appealing to some people like myself. read more

This is one of my go to places for lunch to-go and dining in. Granted I'm across the street so I can just easily walk over and not deal with the parking nightmare at lunch. When you first walk in, you are immediately greeted by multiple people. On the left is a register where you can order your togo meal. On the right, there is a free standing sign where you can sign your name if there is a wait for a table. The dining area is on the right side where there are tables all along the wall. As you are seated, you are immediately greeted by a glass of water. Your server will typically address your table quickly and will come back to take your order. I usually get the bibim bowl or the sizzling pan: white rice + bulgogi (double serving) + original spicy sauce + sometimes, add an egg. Both come with miso soup as well. If you're dining in, the main difference is the sizzling pan comes in, well, a sizzling pan, and you get steam veggies. If you get the bowl, you get fresh veggies. One big thing I do notice is that a double serving of meat in the bibim bowl is about the 70% of the double serving in a sizzling pan. The meat comes out cooked and season well. I tend to like my food sauced so I put a lot of the original spicy sauce on my food. Lately, I've been ordering food to go and either eating back at my desk or in our cafeteria. Something to note is regardless of what type of plate you order, they will just put the food in an aluminum bowl in a plastic bag. The thing to note with this is if you like to get a sizzling bowl o plate and you enjoy the crispy rice, you won't get that crispy rice in the togo container. Probably obvious but just wanted to make that clear. Overall, I enjoy coming here. The staff is always friendly and the food is always good. If you do choose to come here, you will want to arrive before 11:45am or after 1:30pm. If you come in between those times, you will have to wait for a table but also, if you drive, you will have a hard time finding parking. read more

We decided to come here for lunch given the 4 star review on Yelp. This is one of the few times I was very disappointed with a Korean restaurant. The service was really slow, I had to wait for almost an hour for Soon Tofu, and they brought the wrong dish after we almost starved to death. Ok place, nothing really to rave about. pros: good food and fast and friendly, modern decor, brown rice offered at no charge and korean owner. Cons: not enough rice, original wasn't close to spicy, dosirak was meh, small place and a bit expensive for how much rice they serve you for mediocre food. Owner came by to check on everybody which is always a plus. Only had 2 banchans (cucumber and kimchi cabbage), miso soup had no tofu at all?!?! Bibimbap was decent. I've been here a couple times but I've only ever ordered the tofu soup so that's what I can comment on. With that said, their soup is delicious and flavorful and definitely satisfies my soon du bu cravings. The restaurant is small but clean, and the service has always been amazing! Come here a few times, since it's walking distance from work. I've gotten the bibimbowl with kimchee and tofu. It's always good, but sometimes the egg is a little underdone for my taste and it makes the whole dish taste really terrible. Side of miso is kinda blah. It's pretty flavorless. The korean side dishes, cucumber salad and kimchee, are awesome! I really would love to just order those for lunch. The Dosirak I ordered recently was just OK. I got the spicy garlic chicken and it was no where near spicy (maybe they forgot my sauce in my togo order?) and it slightly resembled chicken. I was biting into pieces of grizzle and bone in the cubes of meat. Chicken potstickers made me feel ill a few hours after eating. Now I remember why I'm generally a vegetarian/vegan eater. So this place is basically like a Korean style chipotle or subway. You select which bowl you want, select your rice, protein and sauce, they mix it all up and give it to you. My personal favourite is the hot stone bowl with brown rice, tofu and the original spicy sauce! The spicy sauce is really not all that spicy and everyone must give it a try, it tastes amazing. Not bad for a quick lunch! Had a nice build-your-meal system that was reminiscent of Chipotle. The bibimbap was decent, but don't go here if you want legit bibimbap. Never had fresh lettuce in it before but somehow it worked. The gochujang was also spicier than expected which was a pleasant surprise. Customer service was standard, but very efficient! I used to frequent this place when it started late last year, since it is close to my workplace and I loved it. Even though the choice of their veggies is lesser than what I have seen elsewhere(example, sizzling stone, milpitas). But the taste was great and it was healthy. Back then, their price was 7.99 for hotstone bowl + optional organic egg for $1. I believe this was their most famous item and I didn't see many people going for the organic egg. Because: 1. $1 for egg makes it 8.99 + tax 2. Egg does not always go well with the dish(thats my opinion though). Recently though, they have increased their prices $8.99 which includes the egg. This basically means that the owner wants patrons to pay for the egg whether they like it or not. This means a ~$10 bill everytime someone visits the place which looks steep for lunch. Hence, I am giving it 2 stars. Hopefully, the owner will revert the prices. read more

My sister Joyce J. only gave BibimBowl three stars and compared it to Jang Su Jang in Santa Clara. I'll admit Jang Su Jang had a better seafood pancake (haemul pajun) but theirs cost $15 as opposed to BibimBowl's $7. I always think my sister's tastes are too yangban (the scholar-official class in ancient Korea). So what if bibimbap is a poor person's dish? I enjoyed BibimBowl for what it is: hi-quality Korean food at a Chipotle price. Did my sister not see how popular BibimBowl was amongst the local yuppies? This place is fast, inexpensive, and delicious! We even ordered the japchae, and our cousin ate every last grain of rice in her kalbi dish. This is proof of BibimBowl's 5-star status. read more

*3.5 Stars If I worked at Blue Coat (right across the street), I'd come here every week for a korean fix. This restaurant is pretty good. Their bibimbowls are giant. They offer bento style meals, hot tofu soup meals, and the bibimibap meals. Unlike other korean joints, only 2 side dishes are served: Kim Chi and pickled cucumbers. Not the best I've ever had, but still good. Their restaurant is nice and clean, modern, and has cute menus with infographics on how to order AND the caloric intake of each meal--unheard in an Asian restaurant, pretty cool. Next time I'll try the giant bowls. Next time I will bring Lando (my dog) so we can eat at one of their outdoor tables. read more

Great place to get lunch or dinner with healthy options! They offer brown rice. And you can control how light or heavy you want your meal. Which I really love. Only complain is the lady that waited us had a thick accent, so there were some "um" moments in the ordering process, because I was trying to ask her if anything in my order was raw, and explain I didn't want the soft boiled egg in my bowl since I'm pregnant. This restaurant is in a little strip mall at Mary Ave, just off the Central Expressway. Small shop, limited seating and can get quite busy during lunch hours. Crowd comes from nearby offices. Been here twice for the original tofu soup meal. Served with a simple salad and some Korean appetizer dishes (cucumbers & kimchi). Comes with a raw egg, which you crack onto the boiling hot tofu soup when it arrives. The original comes with tofu, beef, shrimp (1 shelled, 1 unshelled) and clams. It is delicious, and warms me right up during the colder winter months. Service is fairly quick. Near my office, so would definitely come back! read more

Thought we check out this new place for lunch. It's a pretty simple menu so it doesn't take a lot of time to figure out what you want. The flavors are expected of a bibimbop so you are getting the right flavors, and since they have the tofu pot, I will probably go back to try the tofu pot, but that would be it unless the tofu pot is amazing. See, what I don't get is the little little kim-chee and 3 pickled cucumbers they give you. This is Korean and so I didn't understand why the portion of kim-chee was equivalent to like one-chopstick full. You can ask for more, but still they give you another little dish. Then they charge you $1.00 for the egg on top. Why? I am not Korean, but I recall most of the bibim bowl I had in the past included an egg on top, and when I was in Korea, I am pretty sure the egg on top is standard. I wouldn't really mind paying for the egg if it was $0.25 extra, but charging $1.00 extra is RIDICULOUS! Where is this restaurant buying their eggs?? I didn't see a golden hen lying gold egg in the kitchen or the parking lot. read more

It's a small, narrow place with a pretty simple menu. I got the hot stone bowl with the bulgogi and teriyaki sauce. After a full day of traveling and work I was thrilled at the massive portion of delicious food they served to me. I mean, really, you can't go wrong with sizzling meat, egg, rice, and tasty veggies. I was looking for a place to cater lunch for my team of about 40 people. This place met all my criteria and more! I wanted to be able to pick up the food at 11:15. Communication to coordinate the catering and pickup was great. Very responsive and sent me an order confirmation by email. When I arrived, they had everything packed into large insulated bags ready to go. Loaded everything right up, paid, and took off all within 5 minutes. They every threw in a free tray of mandoo! For catering, the food was good. Obviously not some super great Korean BBQ, but I knew that before hand. All in all everybody really enjoyed the food. They gave plenty of kim chee, salad, and pickled radishes on the side. Great service, good food, will definitely cater from them again especially since I found out later that they deliver for only $5. read more

This place is delicious and healthy! My entire family including 2 small kids really enjoyed the food. The hot stone bowl is our favorite (careful to not touch it--it really is hot!) with brown rice and chicken+ veggies and an egg is a filling and reasonably priced ($12) lunch or dinner. The sides of chicken potstickers, seaweed salad and sticky fried tofu are other go to's for us. They have some outdoor seating which is what we did and the food came very quickly. This review is for their customer service and online order option. I felt completely degraded!! I had placed an online order through Waiter.com for a take-out order as I had to take care of my team at work. I get there and patiently wait as she tends to orders and takes a call. I get there and let the lady at the front know that I have a food order to pick-up for 10 people. She says that she is finishing up, ok, sure. When she is done, she put the order on a table off to the side. I said great! I looked at her and asked if she had a box or bag? She looked at me and said, "That's your job. Not mine. You are supposed to bring your own box." HUH?? I paused and said, "That it's a lot of stuff," as she walked away. My small cry for help as I was by myself. There was no one else in line! Trying to figure out where that answer came from, I walked over to her and tried to explain to her that I am not a Waiter.com delivery person, hence why I am here to pick-up my order order. That is why I selected "pick-up" and not the deliver option on my online order form. ORDER PICK-UP!! I have done this a handful of times with other places through Waiter.com and never experienced this. So there I was. I went back to my car and grabbed all of the shopping bags that I had stuffed in my trunk. Then I began to pathetically pack all of the food on the floor, not before I took a picture of this crazy set-up. She stared at me and came over with 3 folded up boxes that maybe could hold 10 of the salad containers, that's it. She asked me if I wanted those boxes. I called her out and told her, "I thought that you didn't have any boxes??" She then said, "You can use this if you want," realizing that my shopping bags were a better option vs. her shoeboxed sized folded boxes. She didn't even offer me plastic bags which were on the counter to even pack away the soups. Reallyyyy??? You were giving these to everyone else but ME! Then she shares this brief incident with the other Korean co-worker and let's her know that I took a picture in Korean. (Yes, I can understand what you are saying.) I thought that she was going to kick me out for that. I told her that I have ordered delivery from this place several times in the past. She didn't care. Yum! The Hot Stone Bowl with Spicy Pork is delicious. You definitely can't go wrong with the Original Sauce either (best I've had compared to other similar restaurants). I love that it comes with a fried egg on top at no extra charge and unlimited Miso Soup as well. They do a really good job on getting the rice crispy here, which I really appreciate because it gives the dish some texture. I've been to other bibimbap places that are really inconsistent with the crispiness, but Bibimbowl gets it right every time. The Combination Tofu Soup is pretty tasty as well, and it comes with rice and salad. However, I don't think I could ever choose the Tofu Soup over the Hot Stone Bowl as an entree because the Hot Stone Bowl is just too good! Also worth having is the Seafood Pancake. I would say pass on the Potstickers though unless you're a diehard Posticker lover! Overall, I'm a fan of Bibimbowl, especially because their service is always friendly and fast. read more
