Good place for an affordable, and relatively "healthy" meal. Kinda reminds me of a "Korean Chipotle", and at around the same price! Would definitely come back for a quick meal. I tried the bibim bowl, with double veggies (instead of rice) and tofu. The veggies are lightly lathered in a sesame oil-sauce in addition to the sauce of your choice. Overall it is a satisfying portion. You also get miso soup and banchan- kimchi and cucumbers. Kimchi was disappointing because it was veeery mildly flavored and a bit bland. We came here for lunch at around 12:30 on a Friday. Parking was a little hard to find since it was lunchtime and there are tons of other restaurants in the plaza. The place was packed but we were fortunate enough to get seated right away. All the tables are pretty close to each other, so you might feel squished if you have a larger party. They give out complimentary miso soup at the beginning of your meal. We had a party of 3 and they gave us two small plates of kimchi and two small plates of cucumber, which was a nice touch. We ordered a hot stone bibimbap with spicy pork and white rice, a hot stone bibimbap with beef and brown rice, and a hot stone bibimbap with beef and white rice. We each got a different sauce and decided to share among us because the sauce comes separately (Which we prefer because we get to control how much sauce we want to put in). We got the original spicy sauce, the sweet and sour sauce, and the teriyaki sauce. The spicy sauce came in a medium red bottle and the sweet and sour sauce was in a medium yellow bottle. However, the teriyaki sauce came in a tiny plastic container, which we thought was a little strange. It took around 10ish minutes to get our food, which was good considering the amount of people there were. All the bibimbaps were really good and well worth the price!!! We highly recommend the stone pot bibimbap because your food stays hot and the rice turns crispy. Just be careful at first because it gets really hot! Also, remember to stir your bowl when you first get it or else the bottom with get all burnt. All the bibimbaps came with a fried egg on the top, which we enjoyed a lot as well. Just one bibimbap is extremely filling. We have eaten bibimbap from several places before and we think this place is very good quality for a very good price. I really wanted to love this food. Came here to grab dinner on a recommendation from someone at work who eats here ALL the time, so gave the tofu soup a go. I got the original (to go) - medium spice - which came with rice (I got brown), a side salad, pickled cucumbers and kimchi (which tasted of...nothing). $10.99 for the lot. Not bad I thought... I was expecting this to be a spicy and flavorful broth, but it wasn't at all. There was a lot of tofu, some beef and a couple of clams, but just no flavour?? Maybe the other bowls are better, but I was sad that the soup wasn't what I expected it to be :( read more

Love the simple menu. I ordered the sizzling pan - which didn't seem a whole lot different from the hot stone bowl except that it was on a flatter hot plate. I didn't give it 5 stars because there weren't great options to spice the thing up. We asked for some chilli sauce and that was a bit tame. I like to be sweating when I'm done with my bibimbab. The options for kids are not too great - no booster seat (they have a high chair though), the kids menu is underwhelming - we went with the Mandoo (chicken pot st ickers) for our 2 year old - wasn't a fun dish for her. Overall a good option for a quick balanced meal. Good customer service but probably best if you left your kids at the pizza place next door. read more

This is such an awesome place! I love the modern feel of it and the ordering style. The seafood pancake (pajeon) was my favorite part! Just the right amount or crispy and doughy with sizable chunks of fresh-tasting seafood and green onion. Fantastic for the price. The sizzling plate was pretty good too. I got it with shrimp and albeit the shrimp isn't the best, it was satisfying. It's been said in other reviews, but the portions for the sizzling plate wasn't all that big and might leave big guys needing more food. My friend's hot stone bowl seemed to have a bigger portion. The miso soup wasn't anything to hoot and holler for, but it's nice to have it with the other cucumber and kimchi side dishes. All in all I enjoyed the food and am a fan of this place, but it's not in a convenient spot for me and I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. My friend and I came here for dinner one night. I had an idea where the place was and should've been easy to get to the restaurant. But I ended up missing the turn as it was tough looking for it. This is actually a plaza with shops and restaurants, but parking spaces aren't a lot so don't expect to have a big parking lot. Decor is pretty decent and it's comfortable. Chairs and tables were okay just didn't like it when it's uneven. Where I sat was really near the kitchen but it was a bit away from the actual spot. The menu was pretty straight forward to understand and easy to order. I had the Mushroom Tofu Soup, since I didn't feel well so soup was the best thing to order. It was pretty tasty and lots of tofu too. Somehow as I was eating it, I started to taste that heavy salt. How did I know? My throat hurts whenever something is overly salty. When this happens, you should mix it with rice but it only helped a little bit. Service was okay. The lady was really nice so she checked up on us a few times to make sure we're doing okay. This place is good for both dine in and take out. So if you're looking for a good Korean food fix, it's the right place for you. read more

Came here on a weekday for lunch because my friend and I were craving some delicious Korean food. I thought the food was a-ok, but nothing special at all. There are plenty of other yummier Korean restaurants to choose from along El Camino and within 5 mile radius; i'm looking at you, Jang su Jang :) -Although this place has a semi fast-food feel to it, the parking lot for this complex did get pretty crowded, so take that into account if you are tight on time for lunch. -Felt like my dish was lacking in flavor, almost too Americanized -My friend was vegetarian and was pleased with the veggie options Overall, if a friend wanted to come back, I would not mind accompanying them but probably would not have taken the initiative. read more

My favorite place near my work to hit up for lunch!! I always get the hot stone bowl with spicy chicken and chili sauce. They bring your sauce as a side, so you can control how spicy you want your dish. The bowl comes pretty quickly, sizzling, and the fusion of all the flavors is just SO GOOD. Not bad prices, and perfect portion for lunchtime. The free miso soup is a plus as well! If you're coming for lunch, get there before noon because I see the line always out the door by then. I've never had a problem getting a seat around 11:30! No complaints about the service all the times I went there either. But I wish they were open on the weekends so I could bring my parents here :( read more

The hot pot mixed rice is cheaper than SunnyBowl. So I really enjoy the food here. I came around 1pm, and plentiful of seatings. There are three/four tables outside for you to enjoy the sun. Stumbled upon this in my regular lunch mini-strip mall. This is a california-esque spin on the the Korean bibimbap; a "heathier" spin. By design it's clearly a "fast, healthy lunch choice". Taking cues from the original dish, you start with 3 choices: bibimbowl, hot stone bowl, and hot plate. Then you choose white/brown rice, type of protein, type of sauce, egg $1 option. Bibim bowl features "fresh veggies"; meaning shredded carrots, shredded green cabbage, shredded purple cabbage, and daikon; your protein option, and sauce. Hot stone bowl is the marinated (aka pickled) version of various veggies; protein option, sauce. Hot plate is the same as hot stone bowl but on a hot plate. The protein options are beef bulgogi (marinated bbq beef), spicy pork, chicken, seafood ($1 extra) and tofu. This time, I took the bibim bowl option. This is less like the original bibimbap than the hot stone bowl, but probably the heathier option. Since the veggies are fresh it's like eating a korean salad with rice. A good 40% of the volume is the cabbage (green/purple) and so you feel like you're eating a salad. So i'd recommend this route if you want a heathier "salady" version of bibimbap. Taste was good, within these expectations. I opted for the egg (+$1 extra) which is a HUGE contributor to better taste in my opinion. For a more true bibimbap option, go with the hot stone bowl, which comes with the miso soup. I will be returning to this place because I want a "reasonably healthy" inspired everyday workweek lunch, and don't always want to eat Subway. This is not the place to satisfy your Korean food craving. read more

What a fantastic find! I live in the area and having just returned from vacation, I needed some quick take out food and wanted something on the healthy side. BibimBowl was the answer. First impression: friendly service (the owner was incredibly helpful and nice), clean and modern restaurant. If they were going to for a Zen vibe - they totally nailed it. Menu: I for one love customization in ordering because I'm super picky about my likes and dislikes. So a step by step menu was another plus for me. There were so many great choices and I can't wait to give each bowl a shot. Food: Tasty! The miso soup was very flavorful and the marinated veggies were fresh and refreshing. We got here on a Thursday around 7pm, and when we left it was completely full, so thats a good sign. The staff seems like they are 100% running around the entire time, but they are still really attentive and efficient. I love the small business feel here. We had two orders of the hot stone bibim bowl, one with pork and one with beef, both with spicy korean sauce. Panchans came out, very light and sweet cucumber and nicely done kimchi. Also ordered the potstickers, which were hot, crispy, and on point. Hot miso soup, not too bad. About 10 mins, and the hot bowls came out. Chock full of the typical, but honestly not spicy enough. But, douse the house red sauce and you'll do fine. The hot stone was a bit inconsistent, as I was able to get plenty of the charred rice, while my fiancé did not. Nice quick refill of waters and penchans as well. While not the most authentic taste, I applaud for service, friendliness, and a non-steep learning curve if you are new to korean food. I was pleasantly surprised by this place! It's quick, clean, and immensely satisfying for the price. A couple friends and I came here on a Friday night and it was fairly crowded. Thankfully, we only had to wait a couple minutes before being seated, which was nice because I was super hungry. I ended up going for the Vegetable Tofu Soup with brown rice, which also came with a side salad. Within 5 minutes of ordering our food started coming out. The side salad arrived first, and it was pretty standard - good, but nothing special. My tofu soup came out soon after, and that was REALLY good. Often times I find that tofu soup can be pretty salty, but this one was great - flavorful, but not too much/not too salty. The ratio of tofu to soup was also decent, along with the amount of vegetables they gave. I also really enjoyed the brown rice and appreciated that they had this "healthy" alternative to white rice. Overall, I would recommend this place if you're looking for a quick bite that's also relatively healthy/not so fast-food-like. My only complaint is that the service is definitely more curt than I generally prefer - but hey, for the efficiency, price, and quality of food, I'd overlook that any day. read more

This place made me like kimchi. The flavors and food were really fresh and service was quite quick. The woman who seated and served us was busy as a bee who took care of her patrons requests quickly while managing everything else. I ordered the hot stone bowl with chicken breast and Korean chili sauce, and my husband got the bulgogi dish that came with salad. The dressing on the salad was really tasty. He felt there could have been a little more in his dish but we hadn't eaten much that day so perhaps he was just still hungry! The flavors were really good, though. On a cold day, I was looking for something hot and soupy and settled on Bibimbowl because it's near my workplace - I have been there and taken out on multiple occasions. I ordered soondobu (tofu soup) and while it was tasty the depth of flavor was somewhat average, particularly since there are so many great Korean joints just down El Camino. One shrimp was shelled, one was not (found that slightly amusing), and the banchan spread is pretty basic. But it's relatively inexpensive, tastes decent, and pretty quick. Will I go back? Probably. Not a bad place overall. Menu is simple, either bibimbap, dolsot bibimbap, a sizing plate, or tofu soup. I ended up with the dolsot bibimbap. It wasn't bad...but nothing special either. The food had good flavor, but the bottom was covered with excess oil. So much so that I didn't get to enjoy any crispy rice goodness! :( major deal breaker. I work in the area, so maybe I'll try it again for the tofu soup.... but I won't be getting the bibimbap anymore. read more

A very good healthy food option. I was planning to visit this place for a while. It is near by my home. I came here with a friend for lunch on a weekday. It was busy. Decided to dine in instead of to-go. Might as well enjoy the full experience if you are going to wait for the food. We were happy with the Hot Stone Bibimbap bowls. Quantity is little less; however, still good for the value. Not sure about the sauce selection process. My friend ordered the Citron Sauce; however, it was no where to be found in meal or on the side. Not as many side dishes as you would expect at a Korean Restaurant. I like that the bulgogi plate came with vegetables. Meals also came with miso soup and a sad looking salad. Overall the meat quality is ok -- a bit dry and not big portions, but decent. I was craving a bibimbap Bowl the other night but didn't want to do the restaurant thing. Came here for lunch and service was fast and freindly. Got the bibimbap with white rice and chicken. Tried the citrus soy sauce and wasn't bad but the original red sauce was perfect. Loved that the kim chee was cruchy, the assortment of vegetables in my bowl and that the rice got cruchy at the bottom. Got only 2 sides instead of the usual 6 at a restaurant but that's OK because I was too full to finish. I saw some other people getting bent o box lunches with cold noodles or noodles by itself.
