Fresh, Beautiful, and Consistently Great! I returned to…read moreShizenya after a while, and it reminded me why I love this place. Even on a Thursday night, the restaurant was nearly full, which speaks to its popularity. I ordered the Tako Sunomono and the Premium Chirashi Don. Tako Sunomono: The octopus was perfectly tender and the vinegar dressing was refreshing--exactly what I needed to wash away the fatigue of the day. Premium Chirashi Don: The presentation was stunning and immediately worked up my appetite. Every piece of seafood was incredibly fresh and of high quality. You can really taste the difference here. If you're looking for healthy, fresh, and beautifully presented Japanese cuisine, Shizenya is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

SAKURA BLOSSOM ROLL - brown rice - comes with a lot and delicious UNI TEMAKI (2pc) - my husband and I each had one. very refreshing with the uni and the brown rice. To begin, I'm a chef specializing in Asian cuisine, so I know what I'm talking about!…read more Last night we went to Hestia and ordered three items. The Garden Rolls were absolutely the #1 worst ones we've ever eaten! We've had hundreds of fresh rolls at dozens of places and sadly, none were as tasteless as these. They consisted of noodles, a bit of flavorless tofu and cucumber. Fresh rolls MUST have at least one or more of the following: fresh mint, fresh cilantro or fresh Thai Basil. Hestia's had NONE!. To add insult to injury, the watery sauce also had NO flavor. To add more insult, they were baggy and poorly wrapped and the innards kept falling out. Not fun and definitely not good. The king oyster mushrooms were very good, but there was a ton of pink mayo dousing it. I would have preferred the sauce be in a separate bowl so we could choose how much dipping we'd like to do. The saffron tofu bowl was sensational! Perfectly spiced and full of a huge variety of well-cooked veggies plus the saffron rice was good too. No one came during our meal to ask if we needed anything or to ask how our meal was. The customer service is in need of some work.

Once again each of the dishes was finger licking delicious. Right amount of spicy to make it yumm! Definitely would highly recommend it. The service too was amazing. Every time our order was served, the owner would say 'surprise!' It was so cute.

A very tiny yet highly acclaimed restaurant in Vancouver near Yaletown-Roundhouse SkyTrain station…read more We stumbled upon this place while walking right at opening, so we got first pick at one of the 3 tables for dine-in. Definitely try to go at opening or when it is not busy, as the dine-in experience is memorable - they place your order in a long wooden board to make it a beautiful spread. We got the Manoush'eh Special which has ground beef, pomegranate, etc and Sham Style which is shaped like a boat. We also tried the yogurt drink which pairs well with the dishes. The only con is that this place does not have free water, but it is no problem to have our own water bottles supplementing the meal. We also got the lentil soup which is pretty good. Definitely sufficient to share one to try, but the Manoush'eh outshines the rest of the items. I loved the quality and texture of the Manoush'eh and just the breads in general. It is a lot of food for 2 people so if you want a snack, you can definitely just share 1. Some people go here for the wraps too. Overall, an affordable restaurant with good food. We got the most expensive items and it was less than 50 CAD all-in, but a lot of the items are around the 10 CAD mark.

Service is quick and they have a counter that faces the kitchen if you're a solo diner. I've also done doordash and the food is packaged well. My only gripe with the delivery is that they don't deliver the noodle in a bowl that is big enough for the entire dish. The noodles and soup are put in two different bowls but you almost can't put them together because it will overflow. This is difficult of you're staying in a hotel so if you can, just eat in the restaurant because they also have hot sauces and pepper that they serve on the table, which they don't give to you if you order delivery.

We received our food within 10 mins. We ordered the vegetarian khao soi. The fried egg noodles added a nice crunch and visual, but the long rigid strands made it a little tough to eat together with the khao soi. The broth looked spicy, but the main flavor profile of the coconut curry was the creamy sweet coconut milk flavor. There were plenty of veggies that were all cooked well, and the rice noodles were fun to chew and novel! Personally, I would have liked some condiments to increase the spiciness or add another layer of flavor. But, for what it is, it was good.

I would also describe the food as modern since there are some cool fusion dishes such as the mango burrata (I didn't end up ordering this but I wish I did!) I want to start this review by giving a big shoutout to Pemba who was our server, he was so kind and took such good care of us and recommended really good items based on what we wanted. Everything I tried from here was 10/10! Some stand out items - :: Bombay pomfret fry - OH! The masala and coating on this was sooo good we were sucking on the bones till the very end. Such a great appetizer! :: Lasooni palak burrata - I was a little apprehensive about this at first because burrata and palak didn't seem like something I would want to try but I was wrong! This was one of my favourite dishes. It was such a delicious fusion item. For dessert, I would recommend getting their soan papdi malai khwaab and their malai ghewar. Not too sweet, just perfect. For drinks, aam pana with gin is the way to go. I really cannot wait to come back and order everything again!
