The quality of bagel is always consistent, they put seeds on both sides, and it is always constantly fresh/tasty no matter what time I come in. The People: The two ladies who run it during the week are super efficient and awesome. They work great together and seriously do the job of 4 normal people. I am always impressed with how they use ESP to communicate and maneuver that kitchen. The Price: It is very fair for Boulder or fuck that, anywhere. These prices are normal bagel prices and I like how they discount the day old stuff that probably tastes just as good. Ehh, not super impressed. The breakfast bagel sandwiches are not filled well for the price. There was a tiny egg, a bit of cheese and the smallest amount of bacon. The fillings are on the lean side, and the service is standoffish, especially to first-timers. Was looking to get some bagels for all of us at work this morning and tried them for the first time this morning and so glad I did. Almost went with the obvious bagel chain restaurant, but I saw these guys on DoorDash too and decided to give them a try. Ordered the Daddy's Dozen (13 bagels and 2 containers of cream cheese) and couldn't be happier. The bagels were warm and delicious and the cream cheese was so flavorful. The bagels are very good if you can suffer through the service. The service has never been spectacular, but it has gotten worse since the pandemic. They always seem confused, as if it's their first day on the job with no training. Today I ordered my usual to go order -- a New Yorker on Italiano, toasted, with chips and a fountain drink. If it's not coffee, they're confused. After the guy gave me my food, I reminded him to give me my fountain cup, as usual, but no problem. Apparently he thought I asked for a canned drink and he rung it up as such. I didn't even bother asking about the price difference. Oh well, I got the cup. When I got in my car, I noticed my bagel was not toasted. There was no heat at all. I took it back inside and the same guy said he toasted it, but "it only comes out kinda toasted." I grew up loving this bagel shop back when They were rmb(rocky mountain bagels). Lower quality bagels now, although the sun-dried tomato spread turkey sandwich is decent. The most recent experience to their shop in Boulder, I was having difficulties communicating with the cashier. I'm normally a conventional bagel person - poppy or sesame depending on the joint but I'm addicted to the blueberry here. I'm a creature of habits and I can't seem to break the habit of eating my favorite food (the bagel) coupled with my favorite fruit (blueberries). The cream cheese used is very good - something people do not remark on and they should. I've had mediocre bagels improved by good cream cheese and good bagels spoiled by bad cream cheese. This is pleasantly tart. The staff are all friendly and kind. And, this is not bagel related love but...I like the fact that they have a plain soda spigot on the machine as well as regular water. Big Daddy's torus-shaped confections are made the right way, with boiled dough (not steamed) and always fresh with lots of choices. I recommend an onion bagel breakfast sandwich with eggs and swiss cheese. I also recommend that you never, ever get a bagel anywhere else. It's just common sense. And espresso? Service is terrible. I ordered one bagel, one juice and was charged $8.99. I questioned the cashier and he gave me a look like I was an idiot. I checked the price board (should have been under $3) and went back to the cashier. A girl next to him intervened and acted like I was way out of line for saying anything. She very grudgingly (and oh-so-rushed because she had better things to do) refunded the 300% overcharge they tried to get away with. Growing up in a land where bagels are the size of a Honda Prius tire, where you can eat a bagel breakfast sandwich 9:30 am and be full until 9:30 pm, and a place where the sandwiches are packed with flavor, I must say I was pleasantly surprised when I one of their sandwiches. Again, these bagels do not compare to the Jersey bagels I grew up eating and have grown to love, they do, however, have a nice blend of simple flavors. Big Daddy Bagels also has tasty selection of cream cheeses that compliment the sandwiches nicely. Since this is close to the land of Tex-Mex, I will say that the breakfast burrito is one of my favorites. Full of flavor. This place is our Sunday morning routine! Their breakfast bagel sandwiches are delicious: egg, a generous serving of cream cheese, bacon, and a good bagel! Occasional disdain from the cashier area, but I think we haven't nailed down how to best order (Do I tell you I want a sandwich first? Which bagel first? 75% of us in here are probably a little hungover, I don't know.) and also being a cashier on a busy Sunday morning can be the worst, so I never blame them. I grew up on Moe's, their sandwiches and spreads, errrrthing. After a move to Longmont and no Moe's in sight I switched my gaze upon Big Daddy and their yummy bread circles. Now you won't go wrong by ordering anything on the menu, my bagels taste better with lots of junk on the tops of them and some herb cream cheese. BUT, my absolute, super most favorite item on this joints menu is the Big Daddy breakfast burrito. I would scale buildings for this thing. It's got eggs, cheese, cream cheese, franks red hot, and a bunch'o'love. Order this thing and be prepared for a taste explosion, plus a mess on your pants so get napkins in abundance. Great customer service- the super nice Manager let me hotel my laptop there & use their public wifi one morning & have conference calls for hours during a neighborhood power outage, and even though they had a steady stream of customers I was left in peace to do my work at a table near an outlet. I wish Big Daddy Bagels would open up shop in Texas...on my face. This inconspicuous bagel shop has been my absolute favorite for 10 years now and it has not disappointed me, even once. Some may say, how can someone be so excited about a bagel? Big Daddy Bagels doesn't serve up "just a bagel." They are soft, fluffy, perfectly fresh and they come in all different flavors (shout out to the green chile!) A personal fav is their breakfast sandwiches with added avocado. I don't know how they do it but their avocado always tastes as fresh as possible which for winter in Colorado seems impossible. Now that I have moved away from Boulder, I make sure that Big Daddy Bagels is my first breakfast stop and in a city full of amazing options, that is saying quite a bit! read more

They really add toppings when they add toppings. My go-to bagel is the sugar and cinnamon one. I recently had the opportunity to compare with Moe's version. Moe's is sugar and cinnamon flavored all right, but Big Daddy's is slathered with the stuff. I keep eyeing another type that is loaded with cheese but haven't taken the plunge. These are good enough that I had to boycott Lucky's when they discontinued carrying them. Of course, that made Lucky's bring them back and so I don't have to drive across town anymore. They gave my mother a hazelnut cafe ah lait, when she is allergic to hazelnut. As she proceeded to have an allergy attack they denied that they had made a mistake and were very unpleasant. Apparently because the manager made the first one it is absolutely impossible that it be hazelnut, even though the two syrups are next to each other. So, for people with any allergy, I think this bagel place is a health risk, I would go literally anywhere else; don't worry, you're not missing anything. read more
