They use local roasters for coffee and turn you around quickly so you can run off to work late with breakfast and coffee in you. I've stopped in to meet a friend for coffee and a bagel several times and I must say there is nothing special about the place. The prices are high for what you get. The atmosphere is ok, the interior looks a bit old and dirty. The staff is not friendly. If it were not for meeting my friend at Big Daddy, I would not stop in. Popped in for breakfast yesterday. Being a nj transplant, I'd given up on good bagels in Colorado years ago, bringing back a sack of ny bagels every time I was in ny. I must say that big daddy's has brought my faith back in Colorado bagels! My breakfast was delicious and the bagel tasted soft and slightly doughy with just the right crunch! The smoothy was great too. I really liked the remodel they did of the place. Yummy cinnamon roll as well Very efficient and friendly staff too. Looking forward to a return visit. read more

The reason I rated this place 3 stars is because they get my order wrong half the time. The bagels are great, but they completely mess up the order many of the times I have gone. My roommate just went and they messed up his order as well. read more

As a student, I almost survive off their day-old bagels, such a bargin though. I am lucky that I live next to this joint. They have fast and friendly service, a great selection of great bagels and are very fairly priced. I love their cheese and egg bagel with the hot sauce. Their drip coffee and espresso drinks are definitely good. When I have friends stay over, we almost always trek over their for some great bagels, especially after a night of drinking. read more

The service was quick and super polite. They were friendly and the food was great! I was able to order in about two minutes and got my bagel in less than five. I got a garlic bagel and it was delicious. I will definitely be returning while in here in Boulder. I wish there was one in California because I'm only here for a few days. read more

I'm still getting used to all the plazas here....very different from the big city! I could barely find Big Daddy, all tucked away in the corner. But I'm sure glad that I persevered because we were definitely in east coast bagel withdrawal and Big Daddy delivered. Personally I'm a fan of the Montreal-style bagels but of course I've been eating NYC bagels for 13 years and I love them too. Big Daddy bagels have a soft interior, but the exterior still has a little crackle. Nice work! The flavoured cream cheeses are tasty and I got a delicious iced coffee that's apparently organic as well. We'll be back and this time it won't take me 10 minutes to find the place! read more

I used to think Moe's bagels ran Boulder until I moved close to Big Daddy's. The bagels are of higher quality and the customer service is phenomenal. I've even had amazing laté art on my coffee drinks. I love the four corners bagel (you get to pick any bagel, any cheese, any meat and any cream cheese with egg). Even a straight up Italian with cream cheese does to trick for me too. I definitely say this is the best bagel spot in Boulder. read more

I got two bagels, one sesame seed, my favorite, and the other parmesan, with the lowfat cream cheese on the side from Big Daddy Bagels yesterday and ate one for breakfast and the other for lunch. While I love sesame seed bagels in general, I think I liked the parmesan bagel a bit more. I'm sure I'll be back here for more! read more

Boiled bagels you can watch being made through a large window, seltzer on tap, as well as an array of old-timers and kiddos and everything in between enjoying their bagels and cream cheese. I do a lot of work in coffee shops around town, and am always in search of places with free wifi and great food that doesn't hurt my wallet. I keep coming back here. I have been to LOTS of bagel shops, but this is by far my favorite. The service is friendly and fast, and something about their bagels makes them the tastiest around! I have called twice now to place an order early in the morning and each time I've had horrible service. The lady that answers, is so rude and acts like it's an inconvenience that I am giving her business. Big Daddy's is awesome. It is tucked away a little in the shopping center. But the breakfast bagel sandwich is worth it. Finally, some great bagels in the Boulder area! We recently relocated from the NYC area, and we've struggled to find a place with the kind of bagels we got used to there. We tried Moe's, Micky C's, and Whole Foods bagels, but none of them made the cut. (Don't even mention Einsten Bros.) The bagels at Big Daddy are at least a notch above any of these other places, probably because they actually boil them. We are thrilled to finally have a go-to bagel place in Boulder. read more

The service here was very disappointing. Bagels are not prepared like your "usual" Big Daddy Bagel. There was a old man behind the counter that seemed to be either very high or a little drunk. We had to repeat our order several times as he said he kept forgetting what we ordered. Very unprofessional and managed terribly. read more

I saw a bunch of really great reviews on here, so maybe this actually is a good place for a bagel. My complaint was with the portabella bagel I paid $7.50 for. It was the tiniest meal I could imagine for over 7 bucks. I think there may have been some mushroom on there somewhere, but I couldn't find any evidence of it, that's for sure. The rest was tomato smear, which tasted pretty good but there wasn't much of it. I certainly won't try another one of their sandwiches. Maybe a bagel next time, although I find Moes has just as good of bagels as this place, and I can get an actual real sandwich that isn't ridiculously tiny there, so maybe I just won't go back to Big Daddy at all. read more
