So , I'm catching up on Yelp today. We have probably eaten here about 10 times. We've also just pulled into the parking lot and left about 10 times, There will be a line of hungry customers waiting to get one of the better breakfasts in Contra Costa County. So if you dont mind the wait go for it , this little hidden gem will deliver. It is not too big of a restaurant that's why there is sometimes a wait. Maybe I'm lucky. I am very picky when it comes to food. I have honestly never had a bad breakfast here. I've tried many items from the menu, the only time I was bummed out from this place was because they didnt like the way their waffle maker was working , I was craving Waffles that day. But I really appreciated the fact that they didn't try to put out crap and just sell the batter they made. We have been there so many times they already know us , one of the girls went and gave us a card out of nowhere, with like 15-20 stars and it said get all of them stamped and you get a free breakfast, so far we have 7! I live walking distance from this hidden wonder of Bay Point...... Last week I drove with my Mom & Aunt to show them McAvoy Harbor and eat at the cafe. I know the area well and wanted to share it with my family. It was a Monday and the Cafe was CLOSED, It was not late about 1pm. We just figured that they must be open on Sundays. I told my Mom to at least peek inside at look at how fun it is inside and I promised we would come back. We went because we saw that huge sign at the main road. They need to put hours of operation on it or what days they are closed, I was so excited to finally take my mom and closed. I wasn't going to go back anytime soon but after reading all the great reviews here, I am going to give it another chance. I will see if all can be forgotten. It really is a beautiful little picturesque corner of Bay Point that I would really like to get to know with my mom. I love living in Bay Point! read more

I've been twice and have been nonplussed both times. The food and atmosphere are basic diner level and service is OK. (The milkshakes are pretty good.) From the inside, it feels like you should be at a marina (which you technically are) or beach, but stepping outside is a just a dusty gravel parking lot in what appears to be a run down machine shop area. read more

Went there for breakfast killer bacon nice choice of scrambles and the food portion is quite big so bring your appetite. Wow. 5 minutes later, well, there would have been a wait, this was at 9:30 on a Saturday. Kids went with smiley face pancakes, devoured them. Wife went with biscuits and gravy, she was quiet so it had to be good. I went with good ole trusty, the ham and cheese omelet. Hash brown were good, omelet was a little over cooked but hey, theyre eggs. Im 38 and only learned how to boil the damn things 2 years ago. I digress, service was great, prices not bad for a marina cafe. Granted this was our first marina cafe. Cmon, we are in the desert here, marinas, haaa! Great cafe off the beaten trail...pun entended. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. It's a little tucked away whole in the wall restaurant at Mc Avoys Marina in Bay Point. Everything here is exellent, from the customer service to the amazingly delicious food. The place appears to be family owned and ran and you definitely feel like your at home having a meal with the family with their very warm and friendly demeanor. I've eaten here numerous times and have nvr had a bad meal nor a unfriendly experience with any of the regular patrons. Everything is cooked to serve and fresh as if you were having breakfast in the kitchen at someone's home. This is hands down the best breakfast place in Bay point. great location, right near the water so u get a great view. It is a little hard to find, u need to navigate urself through a small boating area first before u reach the cafe. However i personally enjoyed this aspect because it makes the place feel less commercial and more private. The place is also very homie and clean, the server treats u as part of the family from the get-go. The portion sizes are huge, I wholeheartedly recommend the veggie omellette. It is stuffed with plenty of veggies and the hash browns were seasoned nicely. We also got a hot chocolate and bowl of fresh fruit on the side, which balanced our savory breakfast with some fresh sweetness.
