They were not impatient when my friend and I could not make up our minds and even had some recommendations when my friend wanted to try Korr more then one meat option. The guy serving the meats even told us about the specials so that we got more bag for our buck. I got the baked chicken with dressing, Mac and cheese and greens and everything was amazing . Potatoe salad was ok. Their strawberry lemonade was the bomb with just the right amount of diabetes inside (I mean sugar). Not the fanciest spot by far but definitely worth it for the food. I have frequented the different Big Daddy's locations around Atlanta. In my opinion the one on Cascade that " Big Daddy" himself used to run was he best. However, this one is good when you want a soul food fix. They have daily lunch specials at a good price for what you're getting. This day I had the turkey wing special ($6.99) It comes with one whole turkey wing and two sides. I had dressing w/gravy , collard greens and a corn bread muffin. The turkey wing is good. The dressing was really good and the collards I give a 7 on a scale of 1-10. The staff is great. They greet you with a smile. Sorry forgot to take pics of the inside but it is clean, and it gives you the feel of an old school cafeteria. Which I like. There is a waiter who makes sure you have everything you need although you bring your own food to the table. I bought 2 lunch specials, the fried pork chop with a side of yams and Mac n cheese and bbq chicken along with broccoli and cheese casserole with string beans, both plates came with a cornbread muffin. I also ordered a strawberry banana pudding and a sweet tea mixed with lemonade. The only things that were decent were the pork chop and tea, yep, that's it. Everything else seemed like it was thrown together within minutes as the flavor was lacking. The green beans were canned and the Mac&Cheese tasted like it was a straight box of Kraft. The cornbread muffin was overly sweet (and I usually love sweet cornbread), dense, and it still had raw flour baked inside. I don't see what the hype is all about with this place, maybe because it's cheaper than other soul food spots around Atlanta but it's worth spending the extra coins for better quality food elsewhere. No ambiance but very clean as we did choose to eat in because we were starving, and to our surprise the server was so attentive and never let our drinks run dry or any request not be met. The choices of meats and veggies and starches were more than I have ever seen at a soul food venue. The portions were amazingly generous (2 could easily dine on one meal) the cornbread is authentic, not yellow or jiffy. The array of desserts were overwhelming to the point of wanting to try all of them. I was very impressed that we came in about an hour before closing on a "Church crowd Sunday " the entire staff were extremely personable and friendly and even allowed SAMPLES of veggies to taste!! This is a very well run establishment with good food and good customer service. Defiantly a place to try when your in town!

We ate at this place while on vacation during Halloween and everything was amazing. My friends tried it one day and I ate a single wing they had brought back for me to try. The next day we were all there again. Everything was delicious. There are multiple locations but when I was about to leave to go to the one that my friends originally had gone to (so that I could get the exact same experience) I was informed that all of the food is cooked at the main restaurant and delivered fresh multiple times a day to ensure that all the food tastes the same. The service by the counter guys was very good, even though the line was long and they were out of a few items. They were all friendly and knew the menu. We had the rib tips, which were very salty, the greens, which were ok and the cabbage. The real spoiler was the Mac and cheese, which tasted spoiled and artificial. However I went to this location today and my Fried Chicken Wings were sour. My mac & cheese, collard greens, pork chop, broccoli rice casserole and candied yams were quite wonderful though. However, as a lover of food; good food to be exact, I feel as though not only should your food be tasty, it should also be fresh. I tried one wing and when it was sour I tried a second to make sure of what I was tasting. There is a weird flavor that cooked but sour meat has and I noticed it immediately. I would advise anyone going to Big Daddys Dish to try the Old National location first so that your first experience will not be marred by improper food safety/storage techniques. The sweet tea was great but could have been steeped a little bit longer. As with most Soul Food restaurants the decor is very home kitchen like, but that is a part of the experience so this is not a negative thing. Overall, Big Daddys is a great example of Southern Soul Food, particularly if you like having lots of options. THEY ARE THE ONLY SOUTHERN SOUL FOOD RESTAURANT WITHIN THE PERIMETER THAT I KNOW OF THAT SERVES THEIR ENTIRE MENU EVERYDAY, which says a lot about how much they care about their customers. Big Daddy's never fails to deliver on perfectly prepared, seasoned and delicious food. From the rib tips to oxtails, pork chops, chicken dinners to the moist flavorful baked salmon (several other entree items are available). The huge variety of side dishes is always delicious. Everyone I've taken to this restaurant loves everything! The desserts are tempting...different cakes, pies, banana pudding, peach cobbler, etc. the portions are so large that I invariably take leftovers home for a second meal. The prices are more than reasonable. The most spectacular thfor me is that the service is outstanding!! In both restaurants the staff is welcoming, friendly, attentive, helpful, and they make you feel as though you're having dinner at their home. Drove all the way from Norcross for this goodness. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. This was my first time and truly I wasn't expecting the variety of love (food) that they had. We went to Big Daddy's Dish for the first time after just having pulled in to town rather late. There were few places near our hotel to choose from and most looked like dives on Yelp. We saw Big Daddy's had good reviews and, although it didn't look like much from the outside, we chanced it. We were really glad we did! Every employee we came into contact with on the serving line was very friendly and the food choices out of sight! We had a spare rib meal and a turkey in a yellow sauce meal, super sweet and marshmallowy sweet potatoes, dressing with gravy (a little too mealy for us, but tasty enough), mac-n-cheese, sweet cornbread, and super sweet southern tea (Mmm!). The price for a-lot of food for two was only $30!! All in all, the food was a 4 out of 5. The service, however, warrants a 5! The server for our table was a young lady named Dominique. She was super bubbly, friendly, attentive, and even got us drinks to go without us even asking! We'll definitely be back when in Atlanta! We've discovered "soul" food and really like it.
