Not sure how this place works. OK. Waited longer than time estimate, I had nowhere to sit, and it was very hard to park - many double park because they are food delivery people, coming in to grab the food and deliver. I felt like I was in the way. Ah well. Got the food in hand and it didn't feel very warm. Took it home (2 miles away) and the food definitely needed to be heated up. Theres no way this order was finished right before it go to me. I don't blame the chefs, the flavor was good. I blame the system - where I had to wait for someone to show up at that desk. The food was fine but microwaving fried food just makes it soggy - but you can't eat it there because it isn't a restaurant - and I'm not eating in my car because I'm German lol. Not sure why this place only has a few reviews but I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with my coconut shrimp order tonight with rice and mac on the side. So bomb! Ordered takeout and got a large Hawaiian BBQ chicken plate and regular BBQ Steak plate. I couldn't really see a significant difference in portions between the two, but it was a substantial amount of food. My favorite was actually the rice and Mac salad. Unfortunately, both meats were disappointing. Both were overcooked and tough to chew. Tried the spicy special sauce (think spicy thousand island) and Hawaiian bbq sauce (think sweet tonkotsu sauce). I'm glad to have it as the meat needed it. Overall, I probably wouldn't order from here again given the poor experience with the meat. read more

It was late and was starving. everything is closing and realized this spot is still open. It was convenient and available, and i am always a fan for Hawaiian food!. And thought its clean. So we decided to try them for the first time and pick up a couple of bbq combo plates with a side of rice and macaroni salad. we didn't wait long for our order to be prepared and it came fresh and smelling delicious. when we started eating we thought the bbq was made good and marinated well, it paired perfectly with the rice but we were not fans of the macaroni salad, thought it needed more flavor. But overall it was satisfying and it definitely hit the spot. Will try them again another time for sure. read more

This was the worst hawaiian food experience I have ever had. I'm Samoan and Hawaiian. First off, the food has literally no taste to it. Like it was cooked in water or something? The Mac salad is not Mac salad at all. It's Cole slaw with some macaroni. It can't see this being traditional or even modern Hawaiian food. Who is making this menu? The most upsetting thing is the portions. This is supposed to be a large plate. A $20 plate. What you pay for is a plate of rice. It came with 5 small pieces of chicken. The meat is such a thin layer of meat on top of cabbage to make it look full and then probably on top of about 5 scoops of rice. Do not eat here. This is not authentic or anything relative. Ordered BBQ slow cooked pork (regular) in Grubhub with a side of broccoli. Packing was excellent. The pork tasted quite good, however it was a bit dry. Still it had nice flavor. The BBQ sauce it came with was cold and tasted too sweet. I didn't want to put cold sauce on the pork (which was lukewarm) so I didn't use it. The rice tasted good, and had nice garnish. The Mac salad was good, not too much mayo flavor which is good. The broccoli was a bit under cooked. They could roast it more. In the picture they put it was slightly browned and it really was not all it was kind of crunchy and slightly raw. It had a nice flavor though but they need to cook it more. Also broccoli could use a bit more salt. In terms of pricing and portion size, the portions were small. They gave about a cup or broccoli for $4, which is not much considering broccoli is very cheap. The plate was $14 which is not bad. However they placed the pork on top of rice, so it looks like more than it is. Really it's about 100g pork which is not much, since pork costs just a couple dollars per pound usually. That gives about 27 G protein which is not much. Since I ordered in Grubhub (with free delivery) the total before tip was $23.55. So I would say it's a bit overpriced for the portion size. I recommend they allow you to sub sides like no rice sub broccoli or salad because I don't like eating too much rice as it's not too healthy and I think a lot of people do the same, so I ended up throwing out the rice and eating with broccoli. Replacing the side of rice (not the rice under the meat) with broccoli gives around 550 (guesstimate) calories which is a good portion size but not excessive. This excludes the sauce which is probably packed with sugar. So this could be a good option for a smaller meal. I suggest the restaurant post nutrition info, which really isn't too difficult since they have a small menu, would be good for those of us trying to watch what we eat. Overall I give it 3 stars. Food is good but portions are small for the price, broccoli is undercooked and options are limited. It's almost a 4 star. This isn't to say I wouldn't go back, but it definitely needs improvement. It's a new restaurant so hopefully they will improve. I would try it again in the future. Keep in mind prices may change this review is March 19, 2024. read more

I made the mistake of ordering through Uber Eats without doing my research. Had I checked Yelp and seen that this was a ghost kitchen, I would've steered clear. Even with a 2-for-1 deal, I still feel ripped off. I got suspicious when the app notified me my order was ready just five minutes after placing it. Pulling up to a warehouse-looking building further worried me. Sure enough, the chicken looked and tasted old and clearly reheated, the rice was stale, and the "macaroni" was misleading--it's more like coleslaw. The "spicy" sauce wasn't spicy at all. I easily get sick from food that isn't fresh and that's exactly what happened midway through this meal. I threw away my untouched second plate as well. Very disappointed. I noticed the owner responds to reviews, but without a real physical presence like a traditional restaurant, those replies feel hollow and impersonal. Sadly, I do not recommend this place. read more

Decided to try this place out even after seeing all the low reviews because you never know until you try for yourself. Well, after trying this place I'd have to say the reviews are accurate. Pickup is inside a warehouse looking building and you hold your order to the iPad and it'll trigger a locker to open with your food if you ordered ahead of time. Everything was nicely packed but I immediately noticed the food boxes were on the smaller side. Not your typical size to go box like L&L or Ono Hawaiian. The portions were on the smaller side and there was hardly any meat. The meat was cut in small portions to make it look like there was more than there actually was. The taste wasn't bad but the meat was over cooked. Ordered three plates and every plate had overcooked meat and small portions. I was still hungry after eating my plate. Not a good thing. For the price i expected a little more. Unfortunately i do not recommend this place and will not be coming back until the food and portion size is better. It is too late for me since nothing is desirable about the food,the service that packed the food for delivery and for service charges for a lot of very random services which I don't know what most are. I personally loved the food and portions I got from this restaurant. You really get a bang for your buck here. I found it on uber eats and got two orders of the chicken with the teriyaki sauce and the house special spicy sauce and a side of the spicy pineapple. Everything tasted amazing! The chicken was very flavorful and juicy, the mac and cheese salad was super tasty and the pineapple actually had a spicy zing to it, though I did add a little tajin to it for more flavor. Even my coworkers (literally all of them) were wondering where I ordered from because of the portion, presentation and aroma aHerr. We work in downtown SF so they were bummed to find out this place is located out by my house in San Mateo lol. Food is terrible not hawaiian bbq at all food is extremely dry and unseasoned service is awful because there is absolutely nobody to serve you you order online then proceed to pick up your order from a locker with a code they send you ( they didn't send me any code) and was left to figure out how to receive my food lucky for me there was someone in the background at a desk that helped open my locker so i could get me food. They do not provide utensils or napkins you have to pay extra for that and by the time you realize it it's too late and there is no one to ask by this point this is NOT A RESTAURANT so that's deceiving and this is no way to run a good business like i said food was skimp and awful dry and cold never again. read more
