Took my family to watch the d-backs got a hotdog and some loaded fries. The fries were cold took them back and received more cold loaded fries. The manager stepped in and helped me get fresh fries that i appreciated but the new fresh fries i got was half the size of the original two fries i got. At that point i made a comment to the manager with he wanted to argue about the size difference. By that point i was done with the whole ordeal, so i just said thank you and walked away. Average food, garbage attitude. Ordered two dole whips (one strawberry & one original), the original had the caution light flashing on the machine and they said something to me to the effect of "oh it's kind of soft", in reality it was essentially liquid that they tried to hand me, I declined and they said "we don't do refunds unless you want to wait 30 minutes". Obviously this is not realistic at a game. Because I tried to work it out with them the only logical next step is a charge back, yes that seems kind of petty for $10 but sometimes you have no better choice. I was at last night's game with Dodgers at Diamondbacks and since I'm still riding that high from a win, 5-3 yo, Imma write this wiener review! Yes, you're paying $15 for a 12" hot dog but this is why you go to baseball games, right? What's baseball without a hot dog!? One might argue you need popcorn too but meh. HOT DOG! I ordered the Diamondbacks Hot Dog (hatch green chile queso, chorizo, fire-roasted corn, pico de gallo, and "venom sauce.") while the guys I was with ordered the Dodgers Dog (basic biznatch dog with relish, ketchup, onion, and mustard). The Diamondbacks hot dog was obvi superior and I would definitely get it again. They're over by Section 105 so get to the game early, grab a wiener, order a $15 overpriced vodka mule on the side, and enjoy the game! Was out in Phoenix and got to go to Chase Field to see a Diamondbacks game for the first time and of COURSE I needed to get myself a dog! Stopped at Big Dawgs and simply had to have the ridiculously priced ($14) Big jalepeno popper dog. For $14 I really wanted to love this foot-long dog, but it wasn't a home run (see what I did there?). The toppings were good and the dog itself was quite tasty, but the bun wasn't good-a but dry and it couldn't hold together with all the toppings. When I first passed the stand the line was about 40 people deep so we went back a couple innings later and blew through the line-service was quick, staff was friendly, but I still ended up with a good dog in a bad bun. read more

I have to say when I first heard of this huge jalapeno popper hotdog I was excited to try it. It has some really good cream, onion rings sliced up, bacon, and some breaded jalapenos. The idea of it is awesome, the execution not so much. First the way they take orders is not the best you pay and then they ask your name to place on the receipt of your order, so they can call out your name once the order is complete. Afterwards you stand with a bunch of others who are also waiting for your order, I saw someone get confused about an order because they had the same name, fortunately didn't happen to me. Second the hotdog. What can I say? The bread was dry and the winnie was dry too! The thing that helped is the toppings. That cream on there and to top it off loaded with bacon definitely helps. I bet if done right it would be amazing. Overall I'm willing to give it a second chance just because the idea is fantastic. read more

While their food may be good, their service is plain awful. They do not stay ahead of orders and don't prep enough dogs to take the load of a lot of orders. Their food manager or store manager needs to get better at getting people in and out and back to their seats. The way to maximize income at any ballpark experience is turning people around and serving more folks. Getting them back to their seats and getting more beers in hand. I have been third in line for 20 minutes do to food prep not being done. Missed opening pitch and missed parts of the game you have to catch. Big Dawgs Still serving dogs but just down from the original location. Good that they are creative and always come up with new items each year, but really don't just hit the mark. We got the cheese burger dog for $11, go for the brats, that way you can't lose. Everytime I have been to there the bun has been hard as a rock. read more

If you want to eat the most terrible, over-priced hot dog and wait over 30 minutes for it, Big Dawgs is your place at the D-Backs stadium. Honestly, everyone knows the prices at ballparks are high for both food and alcohol and I am more than willing to pay if what you're getting is worth it. Big Dawgs is known for their foot long hotdogs ranging anywhere from $12-$15. I'll start off by saying that I knew the wait would a little long because everyone wants to try one of the most raved about food options at the D-backs stadium. I waited in a 20+ minute line and when I was up next, the guy next to me in the waiting-food-line stood in front of me to ask the gentleman that had taken his order when his hotdog was going to be out because he had been waiting over 30 minutes for it. After I ordered, the gentleman that charged me said it would be 15 minutes and I asked, if he could assure me it wouldn't take as long as the angry guy waiting for his and he said "I can't make any promises." It only got worse from there. It took over 15 minutes for two hotdogs (one tot dog and one jalapeno popper dog), plus the 20+ minutes I had already waited in line. Was it worth the $40 I spent? HELL NO! The hotdog was chewy, cold and disgusting and so were all the toppings. On top of it all, I missed almost a whole inning and ran out of beer while waiting. Don't waste your time or money. There are so many other options at Chase Field that offer quicker turnaround times, better, edible food and have friendlier service.That tot-covered ween isn't worth it for your Instagram story, trust me. Double Headers features traditional ballpark food like hot dogs, popcorn and nachos. Big Dawgs (which has only one location in Section 130) also serves traditional concessions like hot dogs, but they are done with a little more flair. Big Dawgs emphasizes "big" food items such as a variety of foot-long hot dogs to a very large $16 soft pretzel that comes with multiple dipping sauces. The foot-long hot dogs are named by city/state and they were offering 4 varieties on our visit (the dogs were displayed in a glass case with all their toppings). There was the Arizona Dog, which featured melted cheese, sausage and red and black tortilla strips. There was also a Chicago Dog, which seemed to the traditional Chicago ingredients like relish, tomato, etc. They also had a Wisconsin Dog, which was topped with macaroni and cheese and bacon. There was even a California Dog on the menu. If I asked Californians what they think would be in the California Dog, I imagine most would say avocado. I don't think avocado was in it (unless the enthusiastic cashier did not explain it correctly). The California Dog was topped with melted cheese, onions, peppers, and steak (it really seemed to be a Philly Cheesesteak Dog so maybe the name was just incorrect). We went with the Arizona Dog and it was pretty good. The bun was nice and soft while the hot dog had a good flavor. Not too strong and not bland. The toppings were just okay. The tortilla strips were fine and provided a good crunch, but the cheese did not have much spice and the sausage was a little ordinary. The staff here was very enthusiastic and helpful. Pricing was high. The foot-long dogs were elaborate creations, but they might not be worth the $9 price tag. Big Dawgs provides a different hot dog experience so it might be worth checking out if you come to this stadium and want to walk away with something a little more interesting than a regular hot dog, nachos or popcorn. read more

Went to grab some food from here yesterday during the Dodgers VS Diamondbacks game. Let me tell you, worst freaking place ever! Not only did the old blonde lady at the register walk off mid order 3 times, by the fourth time she didn't even tell anyone that we was straight up leaving the register for good! There were still people behind me!! But she did come back to tell me she didn't need my name because the black lady who was running expo knew it was my order. I stood there for 10 minutes waiting for my snake bite hot dog, trying to get the black lady's attention that my hot dog has been ready , sitting there, she just RANDOMLY walks out too!!! Wow! I was so fed up after waiting 15 minutes for a freaking hot dog I went to a different register and ask the lady if she could just give me my damn hot dog. She asked me for my name, of course, and I had to explain to her the blonde old lady told me I didn't need it because the black lady knew it'd be mine but BOTH of them were GONE! She gave me my hot dog and apologized and I told her it's not her fault and she's the only decent person that worked there. By the time I got back to my seat, of course my foot long hot dog was COLD. My experience with Big Dawgs to say the least was embarrassing, inappropriate, and very slow. My sister and I stood in the very long line for one of their famous hot dogs, when we got to the front of the line, aside from the very slow pace, many orders were mixed up and missing things, and there was an equally long line next to us of people waiting for their food. My sister and I were next, the lady at the till was sweet and delightful, although clearly flustered and nervous. To me it seemed she was new and just thrown into orders with no one next to her helping to answer her questions. However, she did have a manager come over to reprimand her -- in front of all the customers -- literally yelling in her face. It would have been much more appropriate to pull her to the side, or to actually help her and make sure she was properly trained. The lady serving us was so offended she took her apron off, began crying, and ran off the job. I told the manager we were no longer interested and canceled our whole order - which ironically she had no idea how to do - so you could see where the issue of training came from. My friend and I came to Big Dawgs for the 18" Corn Dog. We were well prepared to pay the $25 for it but the service was absolutely terrible. Our cashier was Jonathan D. and we watched as he let food get cold, zone out completely (I'm not kidding) and be more worried about having a conversation with people that were waiting from other lines, than actually taking orders for his own. I waited from the 5th inning to the 8th and got nothing. When I actually addressed him he said, "Well, I can take your order now if you want." To which I replied, "I'm all set. This is ridiculous." It was my first time at Chase Field and I was loving it until going to Big Dawgs. Save yourself money and a headache and go somewhere else. The cook from the back even had the audacity to come to the front and pat everyone on the back saying, "Good job." when there were about 15 aggravated customers waiting for their food.
