Wife and I always enjoy their version of fast food fish. Today, I had the haddock and she had the pollock. Haddock was good and pollock a little over cooked. Sides were all good especially Mac N Cheese. Clam chowder was very good. Next time watch the timers a bit. Lobby clean and nice.

Really good fish, similar to the old Fish of Stroh restaurants that all left here years ago. Tartar sauce is close to the original too!

We could have done this at fast food, received better quality food and drinks, for half the price. I don't know why anyone goes here. So first, the service was fine, but it goes downhill after ordering. I asked if they had a milkshake menu, but apparently corporate decided to get rid of the milkshake menu and make all the waiters recite the menu over and over again. How stupid is that? Reese's, Salted Honey Cinnamon, Strawberry - $7 - The best one was strawberry, and that's not saying much. Every milkshake was so watery that we were drinking flavored milk more than ice cream. The waitress even got my milkshake on my shoes. She apologizes about how watery it is, but that's it. She even says she'll bring over more napkins (cause it was dripping all down our cups too), but she forgot to come back with the napkins a few times, so it took a long time to get more napkins. At least they got rid of paper straws, cause at one point a few years ago, you couldn't even suck up the milkshake through the paper straws cause the paper straws disintegrated. Back then, I asked for a spoon, and they said they didn't have any. Now, back to today, the straws are plastic again, but I couldn't even suck up at Reese's cups cause they don't fit through the straw. At least this time I had a fork. What a disaster. Don't get milkshakes here. 0/5 stars. "Tavern" Style Pizza Hot Honey - $17.50 - The flavor was good, but it was a soft crust pizza, definitely not tavern style at all. 3/5 stars. All of the burgers are small, like Culver's small, and you're paying 3x the price. The fries are soggy and needed salt. Train Wreck Burger - $18 - This was mine, and it was just ok, but probably better than the other two. 3/5 stars. Mushroom Swiss Burger - $16 - This one the meat tasted worse than mine. I don't know why there's different ground beef patties? 1/5 stars. Stacked Patty Melt - $16.50 - Husband got this one, and he didn't like it. He said the bread tasted stale. 1/5 stars. Just don't go here. You wanna spend about $100 for 3 people to eat? What a waste of money. Small portions, overpriced, terrible quality. Oh, and some tables are sticky, even after the hostess cleans them.

I requested the creole sauce on the side as I wasn't sure what I was getting. I was pleasantly impressed with the "sauce" which was some of the best gumbo I have had. My husband had the coconut shrimp and was equally impressed. Our server was fun and knowledgeable, she let me know ahead that theirs was not your typical southern shrimp and grits. She was attentive without being too much. We love the atmosphere, the tables are not on top of each other and the decor was fun! We will definitely be back.

Lucky Moose (DuPont & Coldwater Roads) - big menu, seeming less flavors that I would expect…read more I have visited the Lucky Moose three times in the last 5 months. I have not posted as I have been collectively evaluating their products. The Lucky Moose is located in a strip mall on the south side of DuPont road across from Kroger. Most times there is plenty of lot parking. Though this can be a challenge on busy dine out nights when Ziano's, Cebolla 's and the Moose are busy. At times Lucky's has had a good 30 minute wait. I think this is less likely since Union Social opened up the street. The Moose has a very large and diverse menu. There is something for everyone. The service always seems to be friendly. The restaurant is fairly large with a smaller bar area. I personally find the booths, that seat four, to be somewhat small. This can be uncomfortable if you have have four adult diners. On this visit we started with the fried veggie basket. This, like other appetizers I've ordered here recently, seem to come out deeply fried and tough in texture. The inside veggies were soft and fresh. The pieces weren't very big. The breading was thick and slightly oily to taste. Overall, you don't get much flavor to go along with the thick, hard and a bit oily breading. My wife had the fish tacos. She said they tasted fresh. No fishy taste. She noted that the tacos lacked seasoning that would help distinguish this Lucky Moose product. This characterization is somewhat typical of other entrees I had here. The Lucky Moose has a good variety of selections that can be made into a pizza or flat bread (see attached picture). This option was about $16. The menu says it takes about 29 1/2 minutes to make. The waitress said to plan on 40 minutes - just be aware, which was okay with me! This pizza is a "deeper" dish pizza. I'm not sure I would call it true deep dish as that implies a style with certain expectations. This was really just a really thick pizza served in a deep dish style pan. The crust tasted like a biscuit. I'm not sure if that is unique to this more southern BBQ style dish or if all pizzas have this type of biscuit crust. I was really expecting a more traditional pizza style dough taste. The worst part of the crust was that it came out REALLY hard when eaten hot and fresh. This was so hard that I had toncutbitbwith a knife. This was very different as left overs which I will explain later. The sauce was a very mild BBQ flavor. It had a moderate amount of sweetness and very little spiciness. Not bad. The down side here is that the sauce dominated the chicken and cheese taste when served fresh and really hot - but not that way as left overs. The hot BBQ sauce was so prevalent that I couldn't detect any smoked chicken flavors. The mozzarella cheese flavors got buried in the hot temperature BBQ sauce also. Overall, I was not pleased with my dinning selection. However, this somewhat changed when it became leftovers. Cold Pizza Test - I normally save some pizza to eat for breakfast. My preference is to eat it without being reheated. However, this is a deeper dish product. So I microwaved the pizza, that had been refrigerated for about 32 hours, for 45 seconds. During this time the BBQ sauce "soaked" into the crust and really softened it up. The sauce took a back seat to the chicken and cheese. I could now detect a nice Smokey flavor in the moist chicken. The mozzarella now thickened and provided that nice bed of cheese that you'd expect on a pizza. The 45 second reheated product was very tasty. A softer crust and mild BBQ flavors that enhanced the chicken and cheese. I believe the dramatic difference was due to the overly hot temperature by which the original pizza was cooked. Just my opinion. You visit and make your decision.

The pizza is not your traditional deep dish a lot of dough to it very messy to eat in the car. The pizza was very average. The salad was fresh. Can't mess that up unless you really try. The dessert was just the right size. I can't imagine eating the full size cookie with so much sugar. The vanilla bean ice cream on top is amazing. Overall, I would say the pizza being average I may not come back for that, but they do have other things on the menu and I may have to try those in the future.

The lights were brighter than they needed to be, and it was slightly noisy for a time of conversation and catch-up. The food was hit-or-miss. I ordered the ribeye, which was quite remarkable. Not a lot of mushrooms, but it still hit the spot. My wife ordered the crab cakes, and they were extremely underwhelming. Not only that, but the risotto was severely undercooked (they remade it, and it was still undercooked). It was not the type of dish you'd expect a steakhouse to fall short on. My in-laws ordered the salmon and walleye, which were both up to par. I'm told this place used to be a classic. I'm told this place has the best salad bar in the city, which I'm sure could be true. As an outsider looking in, I was not particularly convinced that this place carried any weight in its day, which is almost saddening.

As for the food...I really don't expect a lot from these type of franchise places. I did find the onion rings to be pretty good. Nice meaty piece of onion with a thick batter. Slight crunchy breading - not too oily. No special sauce served with this. Just ketchup if you need it. My wife really liked the grilled chicken bacon wrap. Fresh ingredients and tasty. If I want good seafood in the Fort...I will make the investment to go to one of the more renowned seafood restaurants. However, I had a gift card...and they have a new gig going...right? The facility is still the same. Large, comfortable and can process a lot of people. There was plenty of servers and our waitress Donna did a great job serving our party of two amongst the large parties she had. The place is clean and still decorated nicely. The cheddar bay biscuits are still the claim to fame. Warm, moist, slightly cheesy and crisp. Love the buttery-garlic and bay seasoning taste! You can easily eat a bunch of these! My side salad was very nice. Decent size with fresh lettuce and toppings. There were two generous portions of two different types of cheese. Croutons were crispy and the tomatoes were a nice touch to accent the salad. The honey mustard and items just make this a tasty salad. My wife really liked her grilled shrimp over rice. Everything was cooked to her taste. The rice was moist and seasoned nicely. She thought the hush puppies were the best she every had. They had a nice sweet core. The inside was soft while the outside had a slight crisp. Not too oily. Not over the top on corn meal taste. My shrimp Alfredo dish was not as good. The noodles were very soft - actually mushy. There was plenty of shrimp. Though it didn't have any seasoning to give it taste. Not grilled or blackened - just plain. The Alfredo sauce was best described as "soup". It was moderately thin and "soupy". It didn't stick to the noodles like a classic Alfredo dish at an Italian restaurant. The sauce was very mild in cheese taste - again disappointing. I tried pouring on extra Parmesan cheese and pepper to bring it closer to an Italian dish. Not much success. The NEW Red Lobster did have a much more streamlined menu. A lot of your favorite entrees are gone. There were a lot of dishes under $22 per entree. Prior...it seamed like everything was $30 or more.
