160 bill for barely any food!!!!! Ripoff
    Kelly P.

This has to be the Worst crab boil in Ca by a big margin!!! No flavor, all oil! Super small portions, I mean super small portions. Not the weight you're supposed to get!! Shrimps not cleaned , skimpy king crab and snow crab! All over cooked!! 160dollar bill to be left hungry afterwards!!! Very disappointed!! Ambiance sucks and owner is rude! Telling everyone we know to not get ripped off!! Yuck! Ripoff!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One bag with a pound of shrimp, some corn, sausage, and potatoes, and 1/2 pound of crab legs. The second bag was similar with no spice.

This is a place worth experiencing at least once. It's decent "Cajun" style boil. The wait is definitely on the longer side.

By the end of the meal we were the last of six other tables to leave including a table of six celebrating a birthday. Clearly our waiter was holding down a second job because waiting on us was certainly NOT his first priority. They didn't have the alcohol available to make one of their specialty drinks. That took between 10-15 minutes to figure out. We had ordered the crab dish and were about half way through it before we saw our waiter again. When he finally returned I ordered a drink with Midori in it. I was informed by the water that it was in stock. Again, 10-15 minutes goes by and I decided if I was ever going to get a drink I would have to get it myself. I went to the bar and requested a Cosmo. I thought, how hard could that be to make. While waiting a lady at the bar asked me about my Midori drink. I told her if she wanted a good one to go to Woodstocks as the pizza place has it available ALL the time. My cosmo was done and it had to be the most fowl mixed drink I have ever had in my life, I am 62 years old. I carried it back to the table. We had long run out of bread for the crab dip and was not offered anymore . Our dinner orders had not been ordered yet. Behind us we could hear the table of six celebrating their dessert and to my horror all the tables that had come in after us were either on their main course or finishing up. Out of nowhere, for the first time a water later showed up to fill up our empty water classes. I didn't even know they had someone there that did that. We ordered our main course AND I VERY CLEARLY STATED I wanted my dessert at the same time as I was so disgusted I just wanted out of there. Of course, ONLY our entry showed up. I very politely reiterated that I had already ordered the desserts for delivery at the same time. No apology. Just ANOTHER 10-15 wait for food that was ALREADY ORDERED! I worked in France for several years and what The Grill calls "chocolate mousse " is ANYTHING but that. It is a dense chocolate pudding type mixture that will make your skin crawl it is so gross. So. we paid $112.00 for a crab dip we couldn't finish because the place is too cheap to offer more bread. After THREE tries I ended up with a completely undrinkable cosmo (which they took off the bill - big deal), my daughters salmon was not delicately cooked but obviously over done, I got TWO WHOLE shrimp in my dish. Can you spell CHEAP!, and some chocolate mess that the restaurant has the AUDACITY to call chocolate mousse. Completely deplorable service, mostly uneditable food and cocktails NOT available as ADVERTISED on their own menu. We make a point to eat at a different restaurant in Chico every time we visit our daughter. We will NEVER be back

Started off with cocktails then appetizers. Calamari was lightly breaded and fried to perfection. Arincini prawns were big, garlic and creamy. My salad was cold with a delicious house dressing. Veal Picatta was amazing. Generous portions of lightly battered medallions of veal which was well seasoned and tender. Pasta was also superb. Service was attentive snd cordial. Will definitely return whenever in the area again. One of Chico finest!

My husband and I came here for my birthday recently as we wanted to try a new restaurant. The…read morerestaurant is classified as "fine dining", but you definitely do not have to dress up for the occasion; I read a couple reviews with people who put quotes around certain words like: "classy" and "fine dining" and I felt, in my opinion, it's not what you'd think- so take that information as you will and wear whatever you want. We made reservations online due to the fact that it was graduation week for Chico State and the process was easy. We were seated immediately, the restaurant is a little bigger than expected because we were seated in the back section of the restaurant. But - definitely small at the same time because in the front of the restaurant is the bar and right next to the bar are the bathrooms; if there are people standing around the bar, there is no room to move around them. (When we were there those standing around the bar were are barely aware of their surroundings and didn't move for you to get through) Our server was vibrant and nice, he made sure to mention the new items for the week and hyped up each dish we chose to order; he even remembered that we were there for a birthday (as I added this comment in the reservation). However there were little mishaps, for example : my husband said no anchovies in his Cesar salad... when the salad was brought: anchovies. Our server took all my utensils when he cleared our table and left me with nothing; he noticed and said: "I will bring you an extra fork for your dinner." - welp , no fork was brought.. We both got pasta: I got the shrimp Alfredo, he got the Alfredo and added meatballs... I raised my hand to try to get our servers attention, but that didn't happen so my husband gave me his fork and he ate his pasta with a spoon. (Don't try it). I think our server was just a little frantic. When we got our food we agreed that the Alfredo sauce was a little watered down with not much flavor. (Had to add salt) but they did give big portions. At the end of the meal, we got brownies on the house for my birthday, which was nice. Overall, will we got back? Probably not. But- we did see a video online stating their calamari was the best thing on their menu, so MAYBE we will go back to try that.? Who knows.

We were greeted immediately and asked if we had reservations, which we didn't but was graciously seated in a very short time. Our server was at our table with water and rolls in less than three minutes. She took our drink order and had them back to us quickly. The place was crowded but service was excellent! I had the rib eye and my wife had the grilled chicken. The dinners included salad plus two sides. We opted out of appetizers due to the amount of food offered on the menu. My steak was grilled perfectly as was my wife's chicken. I ordered glazed carrots as one of my sides and received fresh carrots in a sweet glaze (perfect)! Wife had asparagus and it was perfectly cooked. I didn't get pictures of the food because there was a baseball game on one tv and football on another! Sorry! The restaurant interior was classic steakhouse with a nice bar. We will go again!

Sadly my $59 Prime Rib had a LOT of fat, much more than I've ever had anywhere. Also they no longer offer baked potato as an option so instead I chose "loaded" mashed potato and I liked it. I also liked my asparagus as a side. One of our friends also ordered Prime Rib and also overall wasn't that happy with his and the fact of no baked potato bumbed him out as well. His 4 small limp carrots had a massive amount of cinnamon on them. The side salads that came with our Prime Rib were nice. The Caesar salad (with shrimp) that one of our friends ordered she found to be very disappointing with a massive amount of very small croutons. The Chef salad (with added steak) that my wife ordered also wasn't very good. The fried pickles chips weren't as good as their former fried pickles and for $9.50 we expected more of them. Note that we went on Saturday June 21st, 2025 the longest daylight of the year however they no longer offer/do outside seating for dinner. For their overall prices I would expect like most steakhouses that charge as much as Lassen currently does these days to have cloth napkins however Lassen only supplies cheap paper napkins. We live 1/2 hour away in Chico and have decided we'll no longer drive all the way to Vina's Lassen Steakhouse.
