This place is the absolute worst...... The tires on my car where purchased here less than a year ago. I happened to notice a small quarter sized bubble on the front tire. When I called to inquire about warranty/possible defect I was quickly informed that no such thing exists and it can only occurs due to impact. I explained that it's an odd bubble and there are no "tire scuffs" on the sidewall of the tire. Certainly recalls exist, can you not just check it out?? He said we can take a look - do you want me to order a tire just in case? I said OK and he took my CC information which is what I was told was to HOLD the tire. NOPE they charged me for it, then proceeded to tell me that bc it was a Subaru I may need to do all 4, which I understand (this is my 4th Subaru). I said, well if that's the case I will be purchasing all 4 down @ Sam's or Costco, as they were running a sale with the purchase of 4 tires. This is when he told me that I already purchased the single tire when I gave my CC information! Stephen was his name and her was a real class act. 0 customer service skills and just plain RUDE. I asked him how long it would be and he said at least 3 hours. Mind you I was there within the first 30min of them opening and I had my young daughter. He didn't care. No apology, no explanation for WHY it would take 3 hours for a single tire mount. Just basically a giant middle finger, is what it felt like. Very unfortunate bc I used to really like coming here when Kayden was managing it. This place has gone so far downhill, and I have 0 intention of returning. read more

I had my car towed for a flat tire. It was a $50 repair. They called me to pick up my car. Then a mechanic called back and told me my shocks were shot and he was worried about my safety. My friend who works on cars just drive it the day before and felt nothing wrong. And I was suspicious as I just had an inspection at Jiffy Lube. He also mentioned he could rotate my tires and that would be a temporary fix for the shock problem. I obliged to the tire rotation. When I picked up the car they told me it was going to be $225. I was shocked as he never quoted me a price for the tire rotation. The tire rotation charge was $175. I knew the average cost of a tire rotation is $75 tops. The bigger issue is they never told me the price when they offered to do the service. I would have never approved a $175 tire rotation. They acquiesced my protest by taking $20 off and giving me a year of free tire rotation. I said ok and left because I just felt slimed. I will not go back for a free tire rotation because I have wised up to their tactics. It's so uncomfortable and unfair. I will be reporting them to the Bureau of Auto Repair. My mechanic friend is going to speak to them directly. I felt I was targeted. read more

I have been a customer of this Big O location for almost 10 years now and have purchased about 7 sets of tires on my vehicles and my kids vehicles in that time. I have always had a good experience until this last year when they got a new owner. I have always had tire rotation and balance included with my tire purchases and had it done regularly, and was encouraged to keep up with that for the longevity of my tires. Now they are wanting to charge me $50 for each vehicle I own. They informed me the policy changed. I understand prices going up and I understand changing the policy for future tires I purchase, but I don't understand how they can change a policy on tires I previously purchased with the understanding that lifetime rotate and balance was included. The employee I spoke with on the phone became rude when explaining this to me and asked if I had anything in writing proving that I had rotation and balance included in my prior tire purchases. At the end of the conversation, I thanked him for his time and he hung up on me without a response. Very unprofessional. I will not be returning again. read more

I just had 4 tires installed on my truck. Paid almost $2000.00 for tires. When removing lug nuts one stud broke. This is caused by over tightening last time I was there, so when they removed lug nut the bolt broke. Charged me $106.00 to replace broken stud. The initial recommendation given to us left us with some questions and concerns but Geoff was patient, helpful, and understanding of our concerns. Went to get my oil changed/ tires rotated (as I do) on my truck and they said I needed new tires. I said "ok" until I checked the odometer and it had only been 28k miles. I did not sign any approval or estimate paperwork and he had already started working on my car with all 4 tires off of the rims. Obviously I inquired as to why and the Manager started accusing me of not doing maintenance including tire rotation. I asked him to stop accusing me of not doing maintenance and he did not stop. I told him to stop the work. Hint: if you want customers, don't accuse them of not maintaining their vehicle especially when they do. And when they ask you to stop, don't argue with them like they are your crappy spouse/ cuk. Well, check out the pictures you can see how this ended! He wheeled the tires to my car still on the rack, completely separate from the tires and refused to reassemble my vehicle. Big O is an experience. I only started going there because of the location. This joint is not inexpensive. The training is minimal, as far as I can tell. The manager has a chip on his shoulder, so watch out. There used to be a good Assistant manager, but I believe he went to Elk Grove. I have had a truck, two SUV's, a boat trailer and an RV - Class A in this shop. There is really only one person on the shop floor I trust. Again, management is a joke. Follow up is non existent. There is no update or association of customers - treated my wife very poorly... a good owner would ensure the shop is clean. The wait area is sterile, the dead cockroach was awesome. The building was clean in and out. Dead field mouse in the parking lot was lovely. I just really want to see the business successful... I wish the owner did. Oh well. I will try El Dorado Hills going forward. Can't wait to see if my customer info is centrally located for all shops. read more

I took my dad's car in because one of them keeps going flat. The gentleman said I have to replace all 4 tires because the ones on the car are all oversized. I had no idea, my dad had no idea because he bought the car used and never needed to do work on it. So I agreed to buy 4 new tires. Shortly after, the guy said I have to buy new nuts for, 20 of them. The ones on the car were worn out. $9 EACH, so it'll be $180. I looked online and autozone sells them for $35 for all 20. At this point they've already taken the wheels off, not like I can go drive to get them. I asked them for another option, they said it would be hard to extract them next time if they put the old ones back on. I hesitantly agreed. So now I'm down over $700. I drove the car back to my parents and things seem fine. A week later, my dad tells me a tire went flat. He took it to a nearby shop, they said the tire or nut wasn't properly installed (I didn't get the entire story). They fixed it for $10. It's been a month and the car is fine now. I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK, NOR WILL I EVER GO TO A BIG O TIRE AGAIN. I DONT EVEN CARE ABOUT THE "WARRANTEE" IT'S BS. read more

the worst experience ever. we were from out of town and our car completely broke down on the side of the road. triple a got it towed to this shop (the closest location) & we were gonna get the car fixed here the next day. next morning, we call and the guy answered the phone saying it'll be easy fix but to wait a bit because of the short staff. so we arrive there and the guy tells us that he won't be able to even look at the car til 12 and won't be able to fix it that day even though he previously said that it would be easy. at 12, he looks at the car and says that they won't able to fix it at all because he can't get the car to turn on even with a jump start. (Ironically, when we called AAA to tow it home, the AAA guy was able to jump it and even DRIVE IT ONTO THE TRUCK.) either this auto shop doesn't know their stuff or they're lazy and didn't want to help us. he also had a very condescending tone while speaking to us. very rude. hopefully your car will not break down in this area so you can avoid this experience. goodness gravy. gave them 1 star though because they had good seating/ waiting areas and the bathrooms were clean. read more

They say when you book an appointment online it doesnt reserve a spot for the work just a spot to come an talk with them. They do not care about your time at all. they are rude and lazy. What a pleasant surprise. They have really improved! Priced 4 Michelin tires at Costco and Eric won my business. His price was close enough to allow me to keep it local and not have to shop for 2 hours at Costco when they need a rotation. Lisa helped as well getting the new tires mounted in a timely manner. Big O has really improved there customer care. Continuing to receive good service. I must've picked up a nail because my right front tire went flat and these guys repaired it in under 20 minutes. Surprised to see some the low ratings here as I've been totally pleased and satisfied with the work they've done on my modified Jeep. Dennis is a solidly knowledgeable Jeep guy who has helped with fixing some steering and braking issues. They've got a full staff of professional guys working and the shop seems to be very busy all the time. Just yesterday I had to take my Jeep in to address a sensor that I couldn't get fixed. They spent about 30 minutes looking at and didn't even charge me. I'm definitely happy they're apart of our community up here and feel confident they will give you honest work. read more

Employees are untrained and un-professional what could have been a simple fix turned into these guys holding my truck hostage over a signature, after I had already paid them. I have reluctantly used this shop for 9 years. I say reluctantly because their customer service has never been very good, but they are local so I tried to keep my money local. In the past, they refused to work on my car unless I sat in the waiting room (wanted to walk next door to the hardware store). Geoff, the main customer service guy, is a condescending jerk and treats people horribly. I've watched him make fun of customers who knew nothing about cars. Today was the final straw. Took my old ranch truck in to have the tires I bought there balanced. One of the wheels threw a weight and was out of balance. Geoff refused to balance them, despite the fact that I have a lifetime balance and have not once taken advantage of that, because the tires are over 6 years old (only 9,000 miles on them and in perfect shape). I went home and decided I would take it to a local competitor later. I then went about installing some new shocks on that truck. While I was installing the front driver side shock I found that when I had my truck's alignment done, at this Big O, about 1500 miles ago, they never tightened the tie rod adjusting sleeve. It was SUPER loose. If that had come off, I would have completely lost steering control. I tightened it up, but now I have no idea if my alignment is correct and there is no way I will ever take another car to this Big O for any reason. read more

I was going to go somewhere else for the battery and have a family member install it for me because I was tight on money due to some expensive purchases I had to make and Christmas since this happened on 12/23. I needed to purchase a trailer tire to be put on a rim so that my new trailer would be equipped with a spare tire set up. I originally stopped by another tire store in Placerville, near the Police Station. After getting a price I was told it would be two hours to mount a tire on a rim. A bit surprised, I then asked the counter person if they could do it in an hour and his stern response was "we don't do cuts here" I didnt ask to cut in front of other customers, it doesnt take two hours to mount one tire even if the shop is busy. His tone took me by surprise...especially since I had just spent 500 bucks in that shop just a few months ago. I left... I was headed down to Cameron Park so I decided to stop by this Big O tire...I also have been a previous customer here too. I spoke with Robert, told him what I needed. He offered a very comparable price, I told him I didnt have a lot of time to wait...With Robert it was no problem. He said Ill do it my self if I have to. Robert made it happen and I was in and out in about 30 minutes. Robert had a great attitude as did the other workers.
