Meh. I called to try to get my warranteed tire checked for a leak after taking my friend there a few weeks earluer. I wasn't able to get a useful answer about what to expect on the phone so I drove in instead. The guy looked at me as if I was stupid when I said that no, I did not have a ride to take me elsewhere to wait since it was going to be "atleast 3 hours" before they would know if they could fix or replace my tire. I had a slow leak...not a flat tire! I told him i would have to come back. As I got back in my car, I noticed another tire store across the street. I went over there just to see if they would honor my warranty. Unlike Big O, they were willing to look right away...and after 15 minutes, they called me up. I expected to be find out next steps and instead they told me they found 2 nails, it was fixed, no charge and I could now meet someone outside as they drove my car up to me. Took my 2015 F-150 in due to abnormal wear on my tires and steering wheel out of alignment and they had it aligned as close to perfect as you can get. I'm always OCD about my steering wheel being exact so I'm glad they took the time to get it just right but they also had it done very quickly. I never have a bad time with these guys. read more

I recently came into this location to get an alignment done on my 2013 Civic SI after installing coilovers. John Flake has helped me since the beginning, my car isn't an average Civic is it lowered and I also recently installed a bigger/wider tire, once again I am in for an alignment after installing front and rear camper kit along with my new wheels and tires. I gave them one star because when I call and ask for a price on my vehicle, don't low-ball me and say you didn't realize. I called and asked for the price of an oil change-gave him the year, make, model and particular trim of car. I wanted an exact cost; period. I came in and all of a sudden the price he gave me was not correct because the car had to have full synthetic oil. Now, this is 100% false per Chevrolet. We have purchased tires and had service by this location. The customer service is excellent but we have had some problems with the actual service. We had a problem with our emergency brake cable. They said they could fix it in a couple hours. My husband sat at the shop for 2 hours. They finally came and said that actually they needed to order the part and we would need to leave our mustang over night. It was all taken apart and they didn't want to have to put it back together for us to drive it home. So a nice employee gave my husband a ride home. The next day they called with bad news... They accidentally ordered the wrong part, we need to wait another day..... They ended up having our car for 4 days!!! To fix the E-brake?! If it wasn't for the customer service and professionalism of the employees, we would have lost our minds. They seemed to be sincerely sorry. We might go here again, but only for tires. read more

Please NEVER take your vehicle in to Big O Tires. I had a screw that punctured my tire (directly in the tread-no damage to sidewall) and was causing a very slow leak. I took it in to them, and the guy at the counter comes out to take a look at it. He looks at the tire for about a second, and without looking closely at all, says that it needs to be replaced and automatically starts trying to sell me 4 new tires-all within about 30 seconds of talking to the guy. I took it to a reputable mechanic I know, and he says that the tire can absolutely be plugged, and that there are still at least 20-30,000 miles left on the tires. Moral of the story-DO NOT go to Big O. They will upsell you, they're not customer oriented, and will sell you up the river if it means making an extra buck. read more

After purchasing new tires from Big O in Payson 8 months ago, one of the tires went bad (long story there with dishonest people who take advantage of women). I took my car into Big O Tires here in Mesa (Power and McKellips) to see what they could do (since my tires were only 8 months old). They told me that the tire was fine and that my car was bad. They wanted to sell me not 1 but 2 new tires. I left there immediately and went across the street to Discount. Long story short, we have now have 1 new tire and have seen a mechanic. Both Discount and the mechanic confirmed that the problem was a bad tire not the car. This was the second time I have had to deal with dishonest people at Big O Tires and will not be dealing with this company again. read more

If I could give this store 0 stars I would. A couple month's ago I went for oil change i went around 10am I was told I had to make an appointment or leave vehicle until 5-6,pm? So I make the appointment for this following Tuesday my only day off on top of it. I go for my scheduled appointment and they were running behind didn't take vehicle in until about 2 hours later finally around 1 vehicle finally done after the 10 am appointment. When I got there told them what oil when I got home my husband noticed on paperwork it has wrong oil I called back the guy tells me do you want me to change it on your paperwork I said no I want correct oil so just to make a point I go back to see if he can show me where it says 5-w30 he shows me 5W-20 I call corporate and until this day NO ONE has called me back!!! Will never go to Big O again! Went for a discounted oil change $16.95, they recommended several things to be taken care of which I declined. I knew my vehicle would require more than the included 5 quarts of oil, and knew I would have to pay more. However I expected the additional oil to be along the lines of what the discount was ($2 per quart) as I received at other garages). Instead I was charged nearly $10 per quart costing me around $40 for the simple 'discounted' oil change. And the recommended things to be taken care of weren't needed and over priced when compared to when I finally had it done. Never again! read more

Went in yesterday for have my alignment checked because of there signs that say free alignment check and of course the website says the same thing. Had an appointment at 4, arrived a little early checked in, I knew my alignment was out because I'm in the process of replacing suspension and steering components and let the salesperson/manager know this. The mechanic working the alignment rack was working on another vehicle so I figured it will be a little bit before he gets to my truck. Sitting in the waiting area looking into the vehicle bays I notice only the guy on the alignment rack is working the other two seem to have a game of grab ass going on, not a good sign of any shop. 30 minutes later my truck is up getting checked, the game of grab ass is still going on but at least my truck was being worked on. Another 30 minutes pass and the mechanic is headed up front with the paperwork, he speaks with the salesperson/manager and leaves. The salesperson comes to me and says it's way out of alignment but he can have it temporarily corrected because it is in need of replacement parts, I turn down his offer because as I mentioned to him before I'm in process of doing that, then he proceeds to tell me that his manager told him he's supposed to charge me 79.95 because it's out of alignment, yet there was no one else up front nor in the office since the door was open and I could see in there! I tell him good luck I came in for your free check and pointed to the sign also mentioning it is in the website then he tells me is only supposed to be free if there's nothing wrong with it! Who the hell runs a business like this. I was half expecting him to tell me he can't " legally" let me drive it in that condition but luckily for him he didn't. My mother has been taking her Jeep here for over a year to get oil changes and routine maintenance. She called and was told to bring her Jeep in for an oil change at 4:30pm and was assured by Jaime that it would be ready by 7pm. Upon returning at 7pm her car had not moved from the spot she had left it. After waiting for over 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by the counter staff...he was loudly taking on his cell phone about another customer present in the waiting area... he finally addressed my mother and said that the oil change had not been done. No phone call, no apology..I was very disappointed with the lack of service and courtesy and am sure that no one in my family will be returning there for service of any kind. There were four customers inside the store and three of them seemed displeased to angry about the level of service. I am sure that we are not the only customers lost this evening. read more

The following is to provide our feedback for our recent and last visit to Big O Tire on Power/McKellips and hopefully educate others from being taken advantage of as we were. I was not pleased with the service or lack of we received for two vehicles. One is a 2002 Cadillac Escalade and the other is a 2004 Mercedes Benz. We went there at approx. 0930 on 6 June 2015 to get the special oil change ($14.95 each). I am not going into all the details but the final cost for both vehicle was over $300.00 for both vehicles. Yes I did agree to the services but what I received was NOT as they said nor what I expected The first up charge was for a service which was to clean the fuel system and improve MPG. I asked Mr. Ingle if there was going to be an increase in fuel economy and he said "most defiantly yes", so I agreed to the $60.00 upcharge for each vehicle. As it turns out the fuel economy went DOWN almost a 2.5 MPG. Where is the value in that? The discounted oil change was not as discounted as anticipated, just another item to get you in the door to sell you products and service which are not needed or overly inflated price. The final cost was approx. $30.00 which is far from being a discount. Second I was told I needed an air filter replacement, I declined that. As it turned out, when I went to replace the filter there is absolutely no dust or dirt on or in the filter, it was almost in perfect condition. . why was I told I need it replaced. The other vehicle was also informed of the same condition and as it turned out the filter in the car was in the same condition as the Cadillac. How is it determined that the filter needed to be replaced or is this just a gimmick to make more money? Third, I was informed the wiper blades needed to be replaced. I asked about the better blade and was informed that it was the best on the market . .so I agreed and paid almost $16.00 /blade. Upon inspection of the new blades, they are not even close to the best and I paid a huge premium for these. Another item are line items on the invoice for recommended repairs/services and possible cost. There was a recommendation for shock replacement for both front and rear. The rear shocks on the Cadillac were just replaced 4 months ago and the cost for the shock was $250.00 each. Their proposed cost was $300 for all four. Where did you get this price? These shock are computerized and tied into the equalization of the suspension system. Here is just another example of the poor service and experience/knowledge of the staff There were other numerous events of poor service and communications, but they are duplicates of the other reviews, so need to restate what has already been identified. One last item is I contacted the corporate office twice and advised them of the above and got a reply that they would forward. After the second corporate communications, I got a call late in the evening and was left a message. I called the store at 4:30 PM and the manager had already left for the day. I left a message, no reply the next day. I called again and still the same . .no reply. There was much more, such as they couldn't figure out how to reset the "change Oil; light" no communication when the vehicle would be done . .I could go on and on but hopefully the reader will get the point and STAYAWAY So buyers be wary of the service and if you do chose to use them, be prepared and bring lots of money for service not needed. read more

I took my wife car in it had a screw in back tire there guy felt the screw and said had to be replaced with new tire and they want to replace them as a set the car has only 4000 miles on it he said he would let it go.SAY WHAT. would need to order and would cost $205.00.. Left and went to discount tire they felt the screw and said it was in a good place to be repaired. Took off the tire patched it checked all the tires for air and the lug nuts for tight... My car was acting weird ever since I took it to them...and then they try to scam you on their deals...don't fall for it...go next door to discount tires...you will save at least 200.00 and your car won't be in danger of coming back with more issues...this place is worse than a used car salesman...ugh! Stopped in Friday night for front end alignment. Received quote for $79.95 and the service rep said it would be a 3 hour wait and asked me to return at 7:00am Saturday. I asked him if he was sure of the quote because I didn't want any surprises. He said there wouldn't be. Returned at 7:00am and received new quote for $104. Shoulda read the reviews before going there. Made an appointment for an oil change on a Monday at 4pm. They had had a sign out back for a 14.94 oil change. Guy at the counter shows me the usual chart - regular oil, synthetic, blah blah and that it's 16.95 due to some corporate rot. He then tells me that since my car requires 5w-20 it's $2.00 extra per quart. My eyes get squinty, my brain whirls, and I ask since when is THAT oil more? I can't remember his response because I was still thinking all sorts of things. THEN he brings out "the CARD" that has a "special" chemically treated piece on it to identify fluids that need to be replaced. Now I exhale (audibly), grin and shake my head - thinking about the other scam shops that just do oil changes. I think he gets it now. He says he can get the oil change for me for free. So, I ask... "how". He says "with a Big-O card". So I say "ok" (still not thinking properly). Turns out it's a Big-O CREDIT CARD, and I am now the "proud" owner of a BO credit card. But, the oil change was free. So, how long does an oil change take? Turns out, at Big-O, about 2 hours. I've done them in 10 minutes. I did get there before 4pm last Monday. At 5pm they finally roll the pan under my car. I mentioned that to one of the guys at the counter and he just grins. Another 15 minutes and the oil is being drained. Another 15 minutes and they come in and tell me that they don't have my oil filter and it will be there in about 10 minutes. My vehicle takes one of the most common filters EVER... and BO doesn't have one in stock? I mention that to one of the guys. He says - "well, we keep 12 in stock and if a 13th car comes that needs that filter, they won't have one". (Another eye roll, head shake and audible exhale). I also asked if they could check a rattle coming from under drivers' side of the car. Clerk says "ok". So we go to the bay and check for loose hangers and heat shields. Nothing. No big deal. So, the "main" man (someone told me he was the "main" man) hits the muffler and says your catalytic converter is bad. (My reaction - see above). They put the car back down and bring it around. They never show me the magic card for the fluids check. Imagine that. I think they know they will never see my or my car again. I'm pretty sure even if I try to go there, my car will explode before driving in their parking lot. I'll have to explain to my car that we're just going to Home Depot and not to worry. I used to do all my oil changes but just don't feel like doing it anymore. So, I checked prices of oil. 5w-20 oil is actually CHEAPER than 5w-30. That's at WW and for Castrol conventional oil. I used to grab a coupon online and go to that huge retailer at McKellips and Greenfield for oil changes. They honored the coupon and changed the oil while I shopped. No hassle, no problem, no appointment needed.. I feel like I should go apologize to them for going somewhere else. Back in the olden days, Big-O used to be a decent place to go. I would like to give a big FUCK YOU to Big O Tires located on Power and Mckellips, I went there for an oil change only because my ball joints were squeaking on my truck so they said they would pack them with grease for free if I got the oil change. I normally change my own oil but I decided to let them. After getting my truck I noticed the truck still made the noise so I crawled under and took a peak at my ball joints, and they looked dry as could be. So I called them and they promised me they greased them. A couple days later I decided to give the greasing a shot and after a couple hours of driving around the noise disappears... and to add to the fact, while they had my truck they called to tell me that my transmission fluid and coolant was extremely dirty and they recommended a flush... weird because I just replaced my radiator, water pump, thermostat, both hoses, and flushed it myself, AND I just installed a new transmission last month on it.. and now the truck is leaking oil and it has NEVER leaked prior to them touching my truck. Moral of the story, Big O is a bunch of lying scammers and I would never recommend them to my worst enemy. #FuckBigOTires read more

Then the kid or "Mechanic" took my Jeep for 15 minute joyride! I didn't come there for them to drive my Jeep around the valley. Had the oil change coupon for $14.95 "early bird special". The service agent on the phone said to come in same day at 4:00 pm and he would fit me in. He got upset when I would not upgrade to the synthetic oil and claimed my 2006 Acura MDX actually required it. Told me he would never honor this coupon with me again and would not do any of the associated checks that the coupon claimed would be included. Just wanted the oil changed so that's fine, don't like being pressured into a B.S. requirement that doesn't exist. Acura recommends conventional motor oil unless you have the turbo charged RDX. Out the door still cost me $31.00. Will not return to these guys. read more

I've been coming to this Big O since it has opened and have had nothing but good experiences with them. i know most people need things other than just tires but if they were mechanics they wouldn't have to bring there vehicle in for them to repair at all. The guys i have worked with are honest and up front . Most repairs others than tires will come with a few other things suggested or recommend which i fully expect . If you cat afford it right now it may bit you in the long run. Have found that Big O is all about up selling to go to the front of the line was told would have the oil changed by 2 hours figured ok I came in at 1000am..here I am 2 hours later and have watched others come and go because they choose to have other services performed where I choose just a basic oil change..I see is not a location thing big a Big O way of business...I guess it's better to go back to jiffy lube where I was in and out quickly but paid $10.00 more...never would I recommend or go to another Big O.. read more

After having taken our van there for a third time, we realized that they scam you. Within 6 months they engaged us in two pricy repairs, totaling $2200. We only had a leak. They first gave us an estimate for the leak and then they called us with other urgent issues that should be addressed or else. Both times they did they same thing. The last time we took it there, we had an engine light. They claimed that our van's computer was unresponsive to their diagnostic system and suggested we first replace it for $300 just to be able to diagnose the engine light. When we declined that offer, they said they would diagnose it for $89. We decided to take it to Auto Zone. No problem. We then called a different shop referred to us and they too had no problem reading the computer. DO NOT trust them. Get a second opinion somewhere else. read more

I swore I would never go here again after a horrible experience with an oil change, not to mention they completely stripped my oil pan bolt that cost me $400 for a new one at the Honda dealership. But, seriously how can I get proof of this? After that, I learned how to change my own oil and trust no one with that task but myself or my husband. Well, after getting a flat on the 202 last night, I took my damaged tire in for repair or replacement since I purchased the Road Hazard protection plan and has 1.5 years left. Well, what they don't tell you is that you have to pass a depth benchmark. Any area of the tire cannot be 3/32nds or less or they will not touch it. ANY PART OF THE TIRE. Doesn't matter that the puncture was in the middle of the tire where the tread was thick. Once you pass that, you have to have record of every 5,000 mile tire rotation and semi-annual alignment! AND, here's the other catch - ALL SERVICE, PER CONDITION OF THE 'CONTRACT' HAS TO BE DONE BY BIG O TIRE! If not, YOU JUST VOIDED YOUR CONTRACT! All I wanted was a simple repair! If the tire was not safe, then replace it. I PAID EXTRA FOR THIS "WHAT IF" PLAN! Big O Tires needs to change their stipulations before they go out of business. I've gotten horrible service at more than one location. I'm sick and tired of the red tape! To all who read this, go to Discount Tire on the SW part of the intersection beside Golden Corral or take it to the Lindsay/University location. I've NEVER had bad service at any of their locations and their Road Hazard plan is super. They honestly care and don't put you through any hassle! I will tell you that the reasons I went to Big O Tire is because we had a coupon and they were open on Sundays. Never again! Big O, you are lucky I didn't throw my tire through your fawking window! I have edited my original post as I was threatened to be sued by the manager of this location for using his name. As a curtesy it has been removed. Absolutely the worst customer service and management at the Mesa, Arizona location on Power and McKellips. We purchased four brand new tires and a warranty in March of this year from a store on Greenfield and Main and had no issues. We took it to the location on Power for a rotation and balance on Halloween. They did not want to rotate and service our tires because we purchased them at another Big O, and they "weren't making any money". We finally convinced them to do it, they said we may have to pay $30 for two of the tires to be remounted because of weights, but they would do it. Hours later with no call back, I called and they said my truck was ready. We picked it up but it was parked in the shade so it was hard to see the tires. When we arrived home my husband noticed that they did not rotate the tires at all, just moved the back two to the opposite sides and the same with the front. The weights inside were still dirty and there was cupping on the back tires. My husband called and asked to speak with the manager. was the absolute rudest person I've ever dealt with. He lied to my husband numerous times about watching the video of his techs changing the tires and and called him a liar. He literally yelled so loudly I could hear through the phone. My husband then went back to the store to get the tires taken care of and the manager began yelling at the techs for not switching the tires (I thought he watched he tape?). When asked if the tires are safe for me and my children to drive, The manager said no but still refused to service them. He screamed at my husband and threatened to call the police if he didn't leave because it's not his problem, it is the original Big O's problem. As my husband was leaving he was cursing at him and calling him a nobody. We have contacted the corporate office and they have assured us they will take care of it, but I believe it is important that everyone is aware of the type of management employed at that location. He should be fired for his conduct and I will make sure to never recommend Big O to anyone. Absolutely disgraceful to the Big O name. read more

Got a Big O Tires credit card to get some discounts cause the employee at the counter said it would help. Said there is no credit check to get this approved, boy were they wrong. The bank that the Big O chains use for their card is CBNA (Citibanks North America) and they are know for doing hard credit checks. Woke up this morning with an alert from Credit Carma and sure enough my score dropped by 25 freakin points. I have no trust, or respect for any Big O tires anywhere. They have bad service, bad wait times (even on a Saturday at 8 in the morning and your the only one there, itll still be 2 hours for a fu#ckin oil change) they try and sell you services you don't need, and really there are cheaper and better places to get tires than from these Fu#cktards. The people here are rude and although they have the Hunter GSP 9700 Road Force balancer, they do NOT know how to correctly use it. I spent $108 to have a set of tires RF balanced. They found a bad tire. I took it back to where I purchased the tires and they GAVE me a full set of Michelins! Found out the next day that BigO missed a couple of important steps and had one of the features turned "off" when it should have been turned on,. Called the mgr and he said he'd "make it right" and set up an appointment. Went in this morning and the guy said I had to repay the entire amount because I had new tires. I asked him what diff it would make if they re-did the old set or new......around and around and even thought the did NOT do the job right, they wanted me to pay $108 again and "hope" they do it right this time. Bull S--t! I'll take them to Tempe Wheel where they KNOW how to use the 9700 properly and to hell with BigO. I'll NEVER go there again! read more

Be very careful when you deal with this Big O. I am a female with a sports car that needed new tires. The manager or assistant manager looked at my vehicle and put 4 new tires on. The very next day I had a blowout on the freeway during rush hour traffic. Waited for an hour to get towed and they promptly replaced the tire now questions asked but even with the warranty, I owed $98. This blowout situation has been going on for 2 years. Never did the owner Ken Kane or the manager Jaime Whitford suggest or tell me that the tires were not the correct size for my vehicle. Again and again they kept replacing the blowout tire and charging me. I have been stranded on freeways many times. Luckily with the blowouts, I have never hit anyone or harmed myself. Finally when my car go towed this last time on May 11th did employees approach me and tell be the tire was the wrong size for my vehicle which was why I kept having blowouts. I approached both Jen, the owner, and Jaime the manager, and asked them about the correct tire size and that employees were stating it was not right. Both of the men said the tire size was correct for my vehicle. I told them about my safety concerns after this happening so many times. On May 15, the did suggest putting standard tires on my car, which was the first time this was even mentioned to me in the 2 years I have been getting tires from them. On May 15 th when they put another new tire in my car, on the way to work the next morning, that one and another one blew out while I was trying to get to work on the freeway. I called Ken the owner and asked what he could do for me because this was very unsafe and causing problems at work. I went to Discount Tire and they verified that the tires were the wrong size. And had to purchase 4 new tires and 4 new rims. I contacted Big O Tires, asking them for all of the money I have spent on the tires from them. Jaime called me and said he could reimburse me for the last faulty tire and that was all. Do not do business with them. I could have killed someone with the tires they were giving me, and they don't even have any apology or want to pay for their mistakes. Too sad. read more

I just received the absolute worst service I have ever experienced for an oil change at the Big O tires located at 6702 E Mckellips road, mesa Az 85205. My husband made an appointment for an oil change at 5 and was told at the time of scheduling that it would take no more than an hour. He arrived at 4:45 and again was told it would definitely be done no later than 6. Because of this we put in a dinner order to pick up at 6 at a restaurant right next door. At 6:30 they still had not even started on our car. They didn't start until 6:55. I was home with our young kids, waiting for our dinner, which had now been prepared an hour earlier. My kids obviously couldn't wait that long to eat and were actually in bed before my husband even got home. There is absolutely no reason an oil change that had a scheduled appointment at 5 pm should take almost 2 hours to even start and over 2 hours to complete. We shouldn't have even had to pay for such a joke of a "service". Didn't even receive even a little discount or any form of compensation. The only thing my husband got was the worker in the lobby complaining about how he still had to be at work because my husband's car wasn't finished yet. read more

First time customer and a horrible experience. Went in for the $14.99 early bird oil change. Was told the car had to have synthetic oil $49.99. When I said the car had always used regular oil but not being a mechanic and not knowing exactly how to articulate why I was made to feel like an idiot. I should have just left then. I was told that my car uses synthetic and that's policy that they put it in. Had they taken two seconds to google it or maybe checked their own computer they would have found that, that particular model was a first generation engine and did indeed take regular oil. They then proceeded to tell me the tires on my Cadillac were unsafe to drive on and needed to be changed immediately. I'm tempted to post a picture of the tread to show you what is considered unsafe but it's not worth the hassle. Once again after three separate tire pitches and me telling them that I was soon trading the vehicle and not spending the money on brand new tires at this time, I was informed that they were reporting they're recommendation to the state and that I would be receiving a demand notice to replace in 10 days. So what should have been a simple in and out oil change turned into the worst retail experience I've had in years. Good luck should you choose this place. read more

Horrible experience. I have done business with them over 3 years and the experience never got any better. I got tires yesterday and on the phone they said that the tires were about ready to fall off and the tread was completely gone on 2 of them (the other 2 had been recently replaced). I agreed because I assumed that I can trust what I was being told considering my family has had 4 cars they have serviced over several years. When looking at the old tires after getting the car I could see that there was almost 2/3s penny of tread on the inside, middle, and outside of the tire. Upon leaving the store I was not even a mile away and the hubcap on one of the tires just replaces comes rolling in a grocery store parking lot. A year previously when I had the other 2 tires replaced I had driven to California directly after getting the tires. Getting gas a couple hours later I saw that one of the hubcaps on my new tires had come off sometime in the 2 hours of time between driving and picking up the car. At the time I had gone in and talked to Jamie the manager several times and called several times and had my dad call several times and nothing got done. He said he would talk to the owner and never did and eventually I got too busy to keep calling for nothing to get done. Yesterday when this happened I drove back to the store and talked to the manager on staff about how ridiculous the problem was that my over 100k car only had hubcaps break immediately after they replaced the tires and this happened 2 separate times. No other time has a hubcap broke. I was told the owner would call me this morning (the day I am typing this) and I never received the call. I called in and the owner himself said that they cannot guarantee hubcaps and that it happens and in his office there is a thing saying they don't guarantee hubcaps and it is on the receipt which was a lie because I read the receipt multiple times and it was not. This wasn't a single bad experience at this place but multiple ones over years and from the managers to owner it is just a bunch of excuses and lies to get you to spend more money.
