I shopped around for good prices on 4 new cheap as possible tires and Big O had the best price and said they had them in stock. I had to get them installed same day so they had to be in stock. I made an appointment to come by the same day. When I got there they did not have them in stock but gave me a free upgrade (50k instead of 40k tires). Which I thought was very cool. The only disappointment of the visit was that in my (naive?) expectation making an appointment equalled them starting on it right away so I could wait around and be done. I was told it would take a few hours and I did not bring someone else with a car so I walked to the lowes strip all and hung out there. They called me when it was done a few hours later I was in no real hurry so that was not too bad. The tires were installed fine and everything runs well. NOTE: just like any other business selling a highly commoditized product in a very price competitive market they WILL try to sell you add-ins like warrantee plans, shocks etc. For the right person that is great service bit if you like me just want the best price be prepared to politely decline when that call comes. read more

It's a tire shop, like come on people lol My experience solely based on the actual purpose of going here for "tires" was actually a pleasant one! Noman is seriously such a kind hearted individual, he literally said "I want you to be safe on the road" and that really hit home. I went in originally for a oil change, tire rotation and possible drain and refill coolant. The service guys in the back informed me my two front tires were really worn out that they wouldn't be able to rotate since back ones had more tread. We went over pricing and I even got to see my car lifted and got a chance to see the tires myself. I will admit I needed new ones so I opted to replace them, well obviously it was unexpected so my funds didn't quite match the total. There was a bit of confusion between service guys and front desk so I did experience an usual circumstance but it was how Noman handled the situation that leaves me to write this review. He is very professional and will go the extra mile literally! I didn't get anything for free or even discounted but I will say a huge favor was done for me to keep me safe! I first visit Big O in Tracy randomly as the 'dealer' for my 2007 Mustang GT told me (15 minutes before they closed), that I needed new pads on all four brakes, even though my car had been there for 4 hrs in their shop. Luckily they didn't have time to do it that day. I drove by Big O & saw their 'free brake check' sign. I figured they would be cheaper, dropped off my car and started to walk home after asking for all four pads to be changed. Less than 20mins later I get a call and was told, 'No, come back. You have another 5000 miles at least on these pads'. Since then, Tracy Big O has performed all work on both my Mustang & Navigator & I have no complaints whatsoever. From keeping the shop open late to receive my car after it had to be towed from Livermore, to being greeted by name after not being in for months, I cannot recommend the staff at Big O more. Friendly knowledgeable staff coupled with excellent service. I could not ask for more. The only downside is that I stored their number in my phone as 'Big O, Tracy', when they call, it comes up as 'Big Tracy'. My wife questioned me on this the first time. Dont take your car truck or van here for any kind of mechanic work. Maybe for tire or brake service you might be ok but I'm not even sure about that. Took my van here for a tune up and $1500 later I was driving my van home and my check engine light came on so I took it back to them 2 weeks later when I had the time. They told me that they found the problem and that it was covered under their warranty. He told me that it was a loose plug wire, that they fixed it, test drove it, everything was fine and that the engine light was off. It was the end of the day when they were closing when I picked up my van. I barely got out of the parking lot when the check engine light came on again...wow. I got a bad vibe from this place as soon as I talked to the guys at the front desk. It was a goofy middle aged white dude and a short middle eastern guy. I dont even remember their names. They seemed very unsure of themselves like they were trying to convince me that they knew what they were talking about. They were also supposed to perform a compression test which they didnt do because he said the problem was fixed. Obviously it's not fixed. They should have done the compression test before even doing the tune up. Also that same day I had them put on "heavy duty" brakes and rotors on. When I was able to bring it back 2 weeks later, I asked the different guy who was there in the morning what makes the rotors "heavy duty." He told me because they have "grooves" cut in them to disperse heat better. Well almost $1300 later, I looked at my new "heavy duty" rotors and they are completely flat. They dont look any different than any other rotor that I've ever seen. No heat dispensing "grooves." I won't be taking any of my vehicles to this location any more. Not even to see why my engine light came back on. I'll take it to a real mechanic and not a tire shop. That's my experience with this big o tire location. And I dont reccomend them at all. They are way overpriced for the work that they did and they seem inexperienced and a little crooked. What's funny too is one of the guys told me to write a good review lol...well you gotta do good work first to get good reviews dude. Which is why I think they are inexperienced because obviously he thought they did good work. I'll try the Modesto location for my tire and brake needs only. read more

Seems like the guys here are good guys and know their stuff. To make a long story short, I brought my wife's car here to get new tires. Her tires were cupped and making a lot of noise while driving... so I thought. The tires were cupped, but the source of the noise was a bad bearing. I found this out after buying 4 tires here. They replaced the bearing and gave me a deal (about half off) because I had bought the tires thinking that was the problem. overall, I am happy with the service and will return. After poor workmanship doing wiring to change a headlight bulb started my car on fire (which was proven to be their fault by both insurance companies) over a year later I have not heard a word from them. They are quite aware of the findings,yet have not acknowledged the fault and/or even offered me an apology. These guys are great. They are super friendly every time, as well as patient, caring, and professional. I can't even count how many times they saved my butt and then threw in a few extras! My best experience was last February. My tire pressure came on the day before I was to drive to Las Vegas. Big O checked it out and sealed my tire that day and asked me to check in with them the next morning before I went on my trip. Well, sure enough, the very next day, my tire went completely flat. How I was able to drive home to the Bay Area and back to work in Tracy that first day, I don't know. Anyway, I called up Big O and since I work nearby, they sent a guy to me! He changed my tire right there in the parking lot, and I made it safely to Vegas and back. Another time, I went in for a free tire rotation using a coupon. When I picked my car up, they told me they noticed my tire pressure was low and went ahead and filled them for me. I wasn't even a paying customer that day, but they really took care of me! I'm about to go in today for my next tire rotation, and I am looking forward to the excellent customer service I'm about to receive. read more

On a Friday in route to a campground, we were a hundred miles from home, and our brakes caught fire. We took the central Tracy exit and pulled off to the side of the road. Unable to get help, we limped our way into Big O Tires of Tracy. They were unbelievably helpful. The owner Haji and manager Perry quickly assessed our situation and began ordering parts for repairs. Seeing that we would have to stay overnight, they did a hotel search and found us a hotel. They locked our RV in their building and took us where we needed to go. They worked on our RV all day Saturday, guaranteeing us it would be done. They stayed past closing to keep their promise. We left there at 7:15 and they were all still there to see us off. We suffered a blow out on the Five an hour or so south of Tracy, Ca--we called them because we have done business with Big O for over twenty years. They had our tire size and were opened Sunday right before Xmas till 6:00 we called and told them we were coming as soon as we got our spare on. WE drove 50 mph with our flashers on and safely got to Tracy. The guys did a super job and replacing the air pressure for each tire equally. After we left I felt safe enough to get back on the Five. Thankfully they were opened and able to help us get to our daughters house !!!! read more

Big O (Tracy) did a great job out bidding competitors for tire prices. But when it came time for alignment they tried to up sale me. They said my ball joints were worn out and it could not be aligned unless new ones were installed for $700.00. Fortunately they couldn't replace them until the next day. That evening I got a second opinion and was told that the ball joints did not need to be replaced. I got my truck aligned with a different company. My family has used Big O (Tracy) for over 25 years. Went in to get four tires mounted and balanced and to get an alignment. The alignment was fine but during the mounting of my tires the tech seriously gouged and scratched my rims. It looked like the gun slipped and hit my rim. I also had to get the tires rebalanced because they did not do a goo job.The worst part is no one said anything about it and just let me leave. I came in to fix my tire that had a nail in it . I Asked how much it would be he said if it's a 19" or 20" that it would be more to fix . First off they're charging me 50$ to repair a tire which is already over priced . He said it will be ready within 40 min , I walk around the neighborhood meanwhile I come back an hour and 20 min later and my car hadn't even been touched . Ruined the rest of the plans I had for the rest of the day ... Soon as I ask if my car is ready they go ahead and take it in and said it will be ready within 15-20 min . If you guys are busy at least let the client know we all have things to get done throughout the day not just get there tire fixed ... I would rate 0 stars if I could read more
