By far, the best tire shop experience that I have had. All of the counter employees were super friendly and helpful. They truly seemed appreciative of my business. How rare is that now? I needed some things at a nearby store and left my truck figuring on an hour or an hour an a half. Got back to the shop in 35 minutes. Let's just start by saying this review is written for awareness and not so much frustration, but disappointment. When you see the pictures of the damage, some may draw conclusions of it as minor, but is it typical? This is workmanship, and it's short cuts that the techs could avoid if trained properly or hold professionalism in their work. I write this stemming from the technician that happened to be walking away after looking at my wheel as I walked out after voicing my concerns and seeing him shake his head like "what's the big deal?" Is it petty? Thanks to the owner Rusty and Peggy for trying to help me out. I will not use the oil changes, but I recognize the sincere support and knowing that wheel repair will not get my wheel back to factory appearance; hence the 2 stars. The minus 3 stars are for the lazy and unwelcome attitude of my initial visit coupled with the workmanship issues and attitude. Business will be conducted elsewhere as I have not seen this type of damage from other tire places, and at least I get someone that says "hello" and comes out to inspect the tire. Some clarification...my initial visit had the wrong tire installed because it was too difficult to check what was on the vehicle or that the website even stated the wrong tire was not compatible for my vehicle. Hope this review helps those looking to avoid this type of wheel damage. Btw, for clarity, it was obvious the center cap was removed or pried open with a screwdriver versus removal from the opposite side of the wheel. read more

Just an FYI for Vail area tire customers. I had a slow leak so went into Big O on Old Vail Road in Vail, AZ. After inspection, they told me the leak was in an area that was unfixable. They told me that all my tread was so low, 2/32, I needed 4 new tires(I have an AWD Honda Pilot). They are 40k mile tires and I bought the car new and currently have 24k on it. Something didn't seem right so went up the street to Discount Tire. "John" not only fixed the "unfixable" tire, but measured all the tread and said it was 8/32 and had another 20k miles left of wear on them so even if this tire was ruined, I definitely wouldn't need to replace all 4. Buyer beware of Big O in Vail. Pretty disappointed to try and keep business local and then get scammed. Steer clear of this place. read more

Came in for my tire rotations (tires I bought from this location mind you) and Robert (sales prick) told me they couldn't rotate them due to the wear on them. He was clearly trying to upsell me new tires. I left there and went to YOUR competitor , discount tires where I was greeted with a good welcoming greeting, made me feel good being there etc, something I didn't get from Robert at your store. His appearance reflect that of a biker gang member and unprofessional appearance and attitude. I hoe it was worth it to lose a customer not only for my vehicle but my wife's too and probably all those I told about the bad service I got from your location. I bought tires from discount tires even though I didn't need them. You suck! Anyone reading this take heed, don't use the Big O store on Old Vail road unless you like bad service and getting hustled to buy tires less than two years old! read more

I took my van in for 4 new tires on 17 April 2021. I made the appointment online a few days prior for 10 am. I showed up at around 10 on the 17th and was told it would take a couple hours so I had my wife pick me up and we went to run other errands. So far so good. Very friendly staff, clean store, etc... After about an hour I got a call saying they couldn't locate the tires I had requested, but that they would upgrade the tires and honor the buy 3 get one free deal even with the different tires. Sounds great, I go back to running errands. It was about 1230 or so when we finished our errands so I just had my wife drop me off, I figured even if it wasn't done yet, it would be soon. I was very wrong. I noticed my van hadn't moved from the spot I left it in at 10, nearly 3 hours ago. I didn't go check it out so I thought well maybe they just happened to put it back in that spot when they finished. Nope. They hadn't done anything with it yet. I asked for an updated timeline and they informed me that my vehicle was next and they would have me out of there in just a little bit. Okay, I go take a walk for 30-45 minutes and I come back and my van is still in the same spot. At this point I am getting frustrated, so I ask again for a timeframe. They say that the van was going into the bay next and they apologized for the extreme wait. They offered some free services as compensation for my time and explain that they were down a couple workers that day. After a few minutes they got to work on my van and finished up in a timely manner and I was on my way. So this review started at about a 4 or 5 star level and dropped to 1. I decided on 3 because of the professionalism and patience the employee I dealt with showed. Danielle was always very poised, and I am sure dealing with other customers that were in the same boat I found myself in so I am sure it wasn't her easiest day on the job. I will return to this store for future oil changes and tires and hope to update this review to the 4 or 5 star level at that time. read more

Big O Tire warranty is garbage. We bought two new tires a little over a week ago prior to a long trip to Texas and we purchased their tire warranty. Unfortunately, on the way home we picked up a screw in the part of the tire that could not be patched so it had to be replaced. Fortunately, or so we thought, we purchased the tire warranty. We were previous Discount Tire customers and switched to Big O because of damage Discount Tire had done to our rims multiple times. Discount always paid to fix the damage but it was a hassle. At Discount Tire, the warranty covers everything. If you opt not to buy the warranty on the replacement tire, your cost is $0 out the door. We incorrectly assumed it would be the same at Big O. That's not how the Big O warranty works. They charge you for everything again. Mounting, stem charge, tire disposal, balancing, etc. Oddly, they recommended an alignment again when they just did one less than two weeks ago on our truck. I don't get that either. In the end, we had to pay over $70 for something that is supposed to be covered by the warranty. We like the folks at Big O but their warranties are really a ripoff compared to Discount. We'll be going back to Discount Tire where a tire warranty really is that. No disrespect to the owners or workers. They don't control Big O warranty policy. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to piss away money so we'll be going back to Discount Tire for future tire purchases. read more

Lube and oil + service performed on vehicle to include tire rotation. Comfortable waiting area . After long wait for service at check out service writer was asked if they had rotated tires. Adrian said yes. Checked tires for verification and found the lazy Tech. Rafael had not done tire rotation. This is a tire shop who does not do an essential performance ? Now I have to check all his work to find out what else they didn't do. Very poor quality and on top of that the service writer lied. Not a conscience or quality shop. read more

We were on I10 facing a long road trip to Chicago when I lost my brakes. I exited the highway and started asking for help at the Pilot station. I was told there was a small shopping area down the road, however it was Sunday and most places were closed., With minimal brakes I slowly rolled into Big O. They were willing to stay past closing to help us, but couldnt get the parts. We had our 2 dogs with us and couldnt stay at the nearby hotel so Rusty drove us and our dogs to a hotel by the airport and even picked us up in the morning ! He even drove me to Jimmy Johns so I could get something to eat ! They allowed our dogs to be inside the store with us while we waited. After all of this the bill was VERY reasonable. The past year I've taken 2 of my cars and my truck for tires and repairs to the new BIG O Tire center in Vail. I found their tires pricing more competitive than Discount Tires, and their staff more helpful and willing to find the proper tires fitments. They explained who makes their private label tires, their warranties, and their applications under harsh AZ temperatures. I also had mechanical work done including oil changes, tie rods replaced, and rear end fluids changed. On one occasion, after getting my truck repaired and driving it a few weeks, I noticed the same issue had come back so I talked to the owner, Rusty, who took the time to review the issue with me and his staff. After analysis, Rusty had his staff re-do the previous work to make sure I was satisfied and the truck was operating safely. Rusty's integrity impressed me greatly!!
