This is the third and last time I will take my family here. Every time we have been there they seem to mess up something this time was there last chance and they blew it. I ordered a medium Burger and I ended up getting a chunk of charcoal. So I ask for a new Burger. So after watching my family eat there food (About 20-25 mins) I was still waiting so i ask about it and they said let me check then came out and said it shouldn't be much longer. I did not want to wait no longer cause my family was already done eating. So I told the manager. I don't want the Burger I'm done waiting. Give me the check he didn't offer any good customer service other then letting me know if I take the Burger I will be charged. Needless to say I didn't want your crappy over cooked Burger. I will definitely let everyone I come in contact with to stay away from here. read more

Good typical diner food with a Greek influence, I found the food hot and tasty and plenty of it. We were seated fairly quick even though they were very busy, One thing that's important to me is cleanliness and the freshness of the food and they succeed there. All in all I enjoyed my meal as did my dining companion. I will 100% return. Those who have slammed it might want to remember they just open and will have some training issues. If you don't return that's fine it just means I don't have to wait long. BTW, all of the diners eating around us were very happy with the food and also the prices are super reasonable. Jan 2020 -Two seniors, 2 thirty somethings and two little kids popped in for a late breakfast. Large table. Waited on quickly. Food out in decent time. Plenty of food. All order different things and all good. Would have liked my corn beef has cooked a little firmer. Even the kids didn't like the liquid nature of the hash but all else good. Eggs and hash browns done well. Did not have anything for kids to color with but we had our won crayons. However when we asked for something for them to draw on ( a place mat would have been fine) we never received one. We ended up drawing on the paper bag utensil holders. LOL Staff friendly. Prices good. Parking easy. Wheel chair friendly. Bathroom ok. I know the family will be back. read more

On our first visit, they had just opened and it was rather chaotic. We have went back and as well had several carry out visits. Things have improved greatly. Now as for the food quality and quantity, it has been excellent at all times. I have spoken to the owner many times and he is very customer oriented. My family are fans! My husband and I went today for breakfast, told there would be a 15 to 20 minute wait but seated within 5 minutes. Ordered eggs over medium but they were barely over easy, husband had same with the same issue and the hashbrown casserole was not hot, problem when plates are not heated before food put on them. Coffee was very good, bacon and ham were good but because the eggs were not cooked properly and the casserole wasn't hot it made the breakfast unappetizing. Had an early dinner here yesterday. There were 6 of us and we all had something different, from burgers, to fish, to Parmesan chicken. All of us were satisfied with our meals and especially, the waiter, Logan, who was very personable and knew the menu very well. Will eat there again. read more

What can I say they are consistent with disappointment here! Went there for lunch with my wife and ordered cheesecake after waiting till my wife got her food I was informed that they didn't have any cheesecake left. The manager did not come over to apologize for not having cheesecake but he made it a point to say hi to the guy at the next table. Maybe you need to be a regular before you get good service? I can say the service was a little better than usual but still slow, the food is good here so I would hate to see them fail because of all the other problems. read more

The food is tasty, portions generous, and the staff is very friendly but the time it takes to get an order taken drinks brought/refilled and food served is ridiculously SLOOOOOW.....was seated after an acceptable 15m wait (yes they were busy) but it was 10m before a server came to greet us\take orders....1 HOUR until food was served!!!! I can't say enough about the food. The waffles are light, fluffy, and delicious! Chicken and waffles smothered in gravy was a real treat.

The owner Manny is a great guy. The staff here was very courteous, some language barriers existed with some of servers but I could understand them and communicate. The food came out quickly, even though they were packed. It tasted very delish. First time to Big Tom's Diner. Lunchtime had a full parking lot - a good sign. Very hospitable hostess took my name and I was seated about ten minutes later. Selected the Shrimp and Grits dinner from their large menu. Soup or salad and two sides were included for $7.99. The chilled salad was generous with onions, cucumber slice, tomato wedge and croutons on a bed of iceberg lettuce. Tasty Thousand Island dressing was on the side. The five sauteed shrimp and mushrooms were over a very generous plate if cheese grits with bacon pieces. The home made mashed potatoes were just right and I didn't have room for the warm cinnamon apples. The server took my order on her electronic tablet and everything was exactly as ordered. Stopped at Big Tom's Diner for the first time on our way from the Amtrak station. We had a great mid-afternoon meal. We were promptly seated and were taken care of by Monica. We had soup and salad before our meals. The vegetable barley soup was delicious. Of the entrees we had, each person complimented how tasty and plentiful their lunch was. I would give this place negative stars if possible! Do yourself a BIG favor and avoid this restaurant at all costs! We waited nearly an hour for our food, simple breakfast platters, they came out cold, and mixed up. How could it be cold after waiting so long it should have just come up. The manager was exceptionally rude, just kept telling me they were busy, never once apologized, refused to take anything off the bill and basically acted as though it was an inconvenience that I even wanted to speak to her. The owner refused to come out and speak to me. It could have tolerated the long wait and cold food, but terrible customer service from a rude inconsiderate manager I will not tolerate. I will not go back, and the owner needs to learn when to step up to the plate for the sake of his business, and he definitely needs to fire that manager. read more

I was really disappointed in this restaurant, so many people said it was great and the parking lot looks busy. I was expecting some good family, home style food, instead everything is instant, frozen, or a box mix. We as a group of 10 or more go out every Sunday. Well, at this place they will not seat you until everyone is there, this is fine, we understand. So today once everyone is there we tell them we are all there. They set up the table, and they owner, starts taking parties of two, so we ask why, he states they are easier to seat then a large party. We explain our table is ready, so why can we not sit down as our group is all there now. He says, you will be seated soon enough, just wait and let me seat the parties of two, then we will seat you. So we say why? He say because that is what I want to do. So we decided to leave and go eat at another place where we never have a problem getting seated. We walked right in and sat down. This is not the first time we have been treated this way at Tom and the food is not even that good so this time I for one will never go back. If anyone in the group every says we are going there I will not attend. The food is not good, it takes forever to come out, most times when you do get it it is cold. Star apologized like crazy, and assured us our order was on the way soon, but soon never came. When we FINALLY got our food, it was good. Went for an unplanned lunch to meet my friend on my way home from lakeland and my daughter and i met her for lunch where the waiters all ate my daughter up with her cuteness and they were all really friendly and entertaining her. We had a great server who was so sweet and was very kind with my daughter even recommending books that she may like since we were talking about how she is going through so many different books recently. The prices are reasonable, and the food was pretty good I had the patty melt which was nothing overly special with the french fries and my LO had chicken fingers and french fries, and I must say she loved their ranch that she got with her chicken and I must admit it was good! My family and I love coming here for breakfast. The service is always excellent. Restaurant is very clean and the coffee is always fresh. Huge portions at an incredible price. I enjoy the sausage gravy. But the hamburger steak with eggs is my go to if I am starving. I have tried a variety of items on the menu and have enjoyed them all. The hash brown casserole was a little too cheesy for me but I think that is a personal preference. My husband really enjoys the hashbrown casserole with his western omelette. We try to go here a couple times a month and we are never disappointed. Our family of 4 eat for under 25$ and you can't beat that! All in all great food, great staff and a great value! read more

I wouldn't normally give 5 stars to a place like this but they get it! Food is very good in comparison to most places in the area but the kicker here is the prices. I am surprised the place doesn't have a huge line out front. The prices are very, very reasonable and yet no scrimping on the quality. I have eaten there seven times now and tried something new each time and have yet to be disappointed in any way. When you ask for a rare, juicy burger you get just that. Cooked perfectly and juices running down my chin. Service is spot on too. Great service staff. Friendly and on top of things. Never an empty glass. We had soup last week that was a little on the cool side and we asked to have it microwaved. They told me the owner refuses to have one as it reduces the quality of the product and he is absolutely correct and it demonstrated his commitment to a quality product. They happily warmed it up on the stove. It has become one of our favorite spots. Atmosphere is comfortable and not noisy. Parking is good and plentiful. The only negative I can think of is they close earlier in the evening than most. read more

Just had my worst experience at BigTom's Diner of the several times I've been there. Hate to say that, in my opinion, they've slipped a lot recently. I arrived this Sunday morning with my wife, before the church crowd arrived, so there was no wait. I ordered the Big Tom's Breakfast, and 1 slice of bacon was burned so badly I don't understand why the server would even bring it out, and the other piece was undercooked. The ham, which used to be thick and juicy, was thin sliced, dry, and very tough. The server never offered us beverage refills and disappeared for 10 minutes as my breakfast got too cold to enjoy with an empty soda glass. Neither one of the hostesses checked on us either, while other servers congregated at the counter. When I tried to get my bacon replaced by another server who was nice enough to refill my wife's coffee, I got the 'sorry, not my table ' speech. I brought home more than half of my meal to try to salvage a little something of it after microwaving it later....I was not offered an apology for the poor service or a courtesy discount for the meal and service. So I feel the $24.42 spent was a regrettable way to start my Sunday. read more

This is our number one restaurant in central Florida (until today) Lets start with Iced tea served without Ice, they should just call it, Tea? I ordered a Red neck burger, that include pulled pork on the burger. Order comes with french fries. Well French fries were luke warm at best and seemed to have been under the lamp for some time. I asked for another order. I never fuss or complain usually. Well the replacement french fries took more than twenty five minutes and constant complaining by yours truly. By this time, my wife has finished her meal. I have to let my burger set and soak up its own juices into the bun. We asked to speak to the manager, he never arrived. I then see a young man in a different colored shirt sitting up a table near us. Are you the Manager? You replied, yes I am. Even though he failed to introduce himself by name we learned it was Manny. He half listened to the story and replied, yea we have had problems with the fryer. He offered another order of fries to satisfy me. I declined. My wife suggested some kind of break on the price of the meal. He wined about we had no idea that they were making pennies on the dollar in running the restaurant. And that was that, never really apologized for the situation. Really never showed any kind of concern for their terrible service. We paid the bill, left the waitress a tip. It was not her fault. Even though I am sure their staff will be seeing a loss of tips due to the mis-management from Manny. So we will be back, but not without a phone call to ensure someone with some kind of management skill, and care for putting out a better product is running the place and not Manny. read more

Tried out Big Tom's Diner for breakfast today. The hostess resting was friendly and no wait. Waitress cane over quickly to offer coffee or tea. My mom had the senior breakfast which was a generous portion. I had the bacon and cheese omelette with biscuit and hash brown casserole. All were delicious.
