We dined at Big Whiskey's tonight for the first time and were sadly disappointed by both the food and service. The food was mostly mediocre, but the chicken wings and chicken tenders were actually very good. We experienced long wait times in between all courses. We had to ask for a missing side dish twice before it was brought out. Two of us ordered mashed potatoes after our waitress specifically recommended them and on both plates they were served cold. Not warm, not room temperature; cold. We were offered new sides of mashed potatoes that were brought out nuked in the microwave. Our drinks weren't refilled a single time during a nearly 2 hour meal. We never received a to go box we requested. We got weary waiting for a dessert we ordered and asked the waitress to please forget it, we needed to pay our check and leave as our young children and frankly we were losing patience and just done by that point. She returned more than ten minutes later with the dessert and no check, saying "they went ahead and rushed the dessert for us." We declined the dessert and asked for the check another time. When it was finally brought out, the waitress told us she removed the dessert as a courtesy... the one we didn't eat! Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

It was a complete waste of our time to drive all the way to Springfield, Missouri. We were supposed to be able to use our free appetizer from becoming a member by downloading the app on my phone. We learned after we had already ordered and everything was in process that the daily specials apparently do not count as an entree which nobody said a word about and it's not in print anywhere. Then, when I asked the manager about this because we were told we could not use our free app and get the daily special. We we would have to order something else or just not use our free app. Long story short, I spoke with the manager and she said that the appetizer we chose was not on the list and so we would not be getting it free. There is nothing in print about this anywhere and we were not told that when we downloaded the app. The chicken was extremely dry. Our server was wonderful but that is the only positive experience we had today. I think she might have been new because she gave us literally all incorrect information. We have decades of dining experience and never, have we had such a disappointing experience. I will be deleting my app and will be pulling myself out of the big whiskeys membership to be a proud member. Sadly, I will share this with my children who also participate in dining there. There were 8 of us, and we got seated quickly. Waitress got drunk orders quickly, and then everything came to a stand still. Drinks took about 20 minutes to get , and our orders were taken. About an hour later, we got our food and several items you could tell had been seeing under a heat lamp. The place wasn't very busy, so I'm not sure what the hold up was. We were able to get seated quickly here and although not a long line waiting to get in. there were definitely a decent amount of guests. The food was serviceable, but nothing spectacular. Our 16 year old son's baseball team is in town for a tournament. Without advanced notice, we called Big Whiskey's to see if they could accommodate our large group (30+ hungry teenage boys and their thirsty parents). Despite an almost full restaurant, the manager and staff encouraged us to bring our group. Luckily, their private room was open and it was perfect! We enjoyed a variety of appetizers, drinks, and dinners. The food was good and the service was incredible. They even split our checks, which I'm sure is no server's favorite thing to do. Me and two friends came for a birthday last night and had an amazing server (Kayla who definitely received 5 stars in my book) who provided immaculate service the whole night. Around halfway through our evening a storm hit and power was lost to the building to which we were told the meals were on the house and sent home by the manager on duty. We tipped our server nicely and left quickly to get home safe. The next morning at 9:00 AM the manager contacted me through a friend and told us we needed to come back in and pay our bill. I would have been ok with this had it not been communicated the bill was on the house the night prior. This was extremely unprofessional as when I confronted her she said not only was it already voided but she was needing to re-ring everything a second time to charge us. She also communicated she only did it because she knew how to get into contact with my friend and was not doing it for any other customers from that night. When I questioned the reasoning she instantly rolled her eyes and started an attitude with me, refusing to acknowledge my existence any other way. Never have I heard of a restaurant acting this way and I will not be returning to this location anytime in the future. read more

My friends and I enjoy going to the Big Whiskey's downtown but we came here once and it was different. I ordered the same burger I usually get from the other location and it came out super dry. My friend got the sliders and said the same thing. The other appetizers were good but the fried pickles were literally way too salty. The service was great which is why they get 3 stars. Hopefully the food improves and we will be back. read more

Just left here with a group of 12...after spending over 2.5 hours waiting for drinks and food that was served cold. We sat outside, and there were tons of flies, our server told us they didn't have ranch dressing, he kept making excuses, and the restaurant refused to take any accountability blaming the kitchen, the server, and technology for why they couldn't get their act together. I never do this, but no one at this restaurant tried to do anything to make our experience better. Nothing but lame apologies, and the mandatory 18% gratuity that of course they added since we were a party of 8+. read more

We decided to stop in finally after driving by a few dozen times, and hearing about how awesome their wings were. The place was packed which it always seems to be, very noisy as well. The waitstaff were very prompt, and friendly even though they were slammed. We were seated right away, and our server got our drinks out right away, seriously some of the best service in town for as packed as they were. We decided on the wings, after some deliberation between those, and a burger. We ordered an 18 piece bone in, flavors Teriyaki, Garlic Parm, and a Honey Whiskey. They came out fresh, hot, and big!!! They were cooked to perfection, crisp and juicy. I would give the chicken itself "5" star's. But here's why they get 4 star's, the sauce was some of the worst I ever had, watery and bland! I would give their sauce "2 or 3" star's. The Garlic tasted non-existent, I seriously thought I had just bitten into a plain wing. I actually had them bring out more sauce to put on it. The Teriyaki had a strange spoiled after taste to it, and the Honey Whiskey was a bit bland, definitely less flavor than my Sam Adam's which was overpowering the wings. The blue cheese was a bit heavy on the mayo as well. I will go back to try a burger, but I won't get the wings again, which saddens me because I'm a Wing nut! read more

The server couldn't name off the 16 tap beers, and, when asked what microbrews they had she didn't know what a microbrew was! LOL! Six of us shared the Big Whiskey Nachos and Loaded Potato Skins, and then I had the Lemon Pepper Chicken ($9.99 for chicken breast, rice pilaf and a steamed veggie medley), another couple shared a Big W Club (they loved it) and another couple shared an All American Burger (good). My chicken was over salted, and a little dry, but okay. They do have a great HH (code for Happy Hour), 4:00-6:00pm Monday - Friday with 1/2 off all appetizers and some drinks too. read more

The happy hours are from 4-6 pm; $5 dollar appetizer and half price (some)drink, $2 domestic draft. The services was hit and miss sometime the server was overly nice, sometime the service was so so. First time at Big Whiskey's and the first thing I noticed was how quickly we were seated at 6:30pm on a Friday evening. There was no wait at all. We walked in and got seated immediately. Obviously I loved that. Second thing I noticed was how loud it was. I honestly can't say what the noise was, I guess just people talking at the bar maybe? But it was pretty loud which is my least favorite thing about sports bars anyway. Third thing I noticed was how there were like 10 tvs all within view of my table. I find tvs in restaurants mostly annoying but again, sports bar. I knew what I was getting into. So. The food. I ordered a buffalo ranch chicken sandwich with mashed potatoes instead of fries. The sandwich was perfect. The kaiser bun was incredibly tasty. The buffalo sauce was mild and didn't burn my mouth off which is hard to come by. The potatoes were meh (I'm picky about mashed potatoes, not sure why I bother). My husband got the red white and blue burger with fries and thought the burger needed a sauce of some kind and the fries were overseasoned. The portions are American small but not so small to be European-sized. I had room for dessert so I got the fried cheesecake which was almost perfect honestly but I can't say what would've made it better. Maybe a chocolate sauce instead of caramel? Who knows. Not I. I'll definitely be going back. The menu is huge and there are a million items I'm dying to try. read more

Big Whiskey's is ok. They have a decent selection of beer on tap, the service is usually pretty good, but the food is only ok. I love fried pickles, and will order them any chance I get. So I was quick to add them with my orink order as soon as our server appeared. When the pickles arrived they looked like they were slathered in oil, which means to me that they didn't let them drain before dropping them in the bowl, or they were allowed to sit in the fryer too long. The breading didn't stick to the pickles very well either. They tasted fine. I also had the Philly Cheesesteak. It's pretty unremarkable. I wish I would have tried a burger instead. I will say that this is a good place to watch any televised sporting event. There are plenty of TV's and I had no problem getting the screen closest to me switched over to the event I was interested in. I would go back, as the beer selection is decent enough, but I might recommend some other establishment if the plan includes eating a meal. read more

Went with my family on a Saturday to get some dinner everything was great. The waiter did an awesome job answering questions and he also helped me find the burger I wanted to order. We had mozzarella sticks, small order of wings, burgers, turkey club, and a sugar bear (alcoholic beverage). The fries are delicious!!!! I placed a curbside pickup order at 6:50pm on 3/22/23 for 12 wings. Called at 7pm to let them know I was there and they said they were still making it. I had waited there UNTIL 7:40pm and eventually got so pissed that I had just left and got food somewhere else. I was told it would take 15-20 minutes for my order to be ready when I initially called at 6:50pm. 50 MINUTES later, no food and no update. Even AFTER I left, I figured they would give me a call when they noticed my food had been sitting there for a while but nope. I don't even think my food was made at all. I called back next day asking for a refund and the lady told me the GM would give me a call in 2 days as she did not know how to process the refund and that was the soonest time the GM would be in. Roll around to Thursday and the GM never gave me a call. I even emailed their corporate office online and still no one reached out. Customer service was abysmal and now I'm stuck playing phone tag with the bank trying to get this charged back. How long does it take to make 12 wings? Why did I never get a call even AFTER I left and they know my food has just been sitting there? Why is no one reaching out about this situation? read more
