If you're in Prescott do yourself a favor and have a meal at BiGA. A true gem and incredible place. I went to dinner with some people who already know how great it is. For me, it was my first time. This is a real scratch kitchen with amazing delicious ingredients. It's a small dining room with attentive staff and excellent bartenders. I loved everything I had. Food is grown and sourced from over 10 local farms and businesses including Whipstone Farm, Hassayampa Vineyard and Farm, Broken Horn D Ranch, and so many more. The owners John and Cassie spend their Saturday mornings at the local farmer's market selecting the very best ingredients for each entrée. This place reminds me of farm to table restaurants I've enjoyed in California and it's great to see this emphasis on fresh and local here in AZ. It truly makes a difference in the flavors of the food. The price points of this place are great. Given how high quality the ingredients are, it doesn't feel like you're paying an arm and a leg. They even had a prix fixe dinner for 2 that sounds great: BiGA Supper for Two $59.00 BiGA House Salad, Fresh Baked Bread; Choice of Weekly Fresh Fish OR Herb Marinated Chicken; Organic Volcano Rice OR Savory Bread Pudding; Seasonal Vegetable, BiGA BBQ Sauce; Chocolate Pots de Creme The warm goat cheese dip was sublime. The burrata also tasty. I had the Sherry Braised Brisket (Ramona Farms Corn Polenta Cake, Green Garlic Pesto, Fennel, Whipstone Farm Leek & Yavapai College Tomato Ragout, Celery, Peas, Tomato Sherry Reduction); delicious. I'll be back for sure!

WOW THOSE BIGA BURGERS! I was staying at an Airbnb just .2 miles away so we headed here after seeing they had burgers on the menu. It's a small place, and on a Saturday at around 4 they only had room at the bar or patio. They asked if we called ahead, so make sure you call in advance to reserve a table. I heard someone calling and they were offered a table in 30 minutes, so I don't think you need to call too far in advance (except if you have a large party.) I had a hibiscus margarita and it was strong and flavorful, the price was great at $8. We ordered both burgers, the BIGA Burger and the Local Burger, both with Mac and cheese on the side. Soooo tasty! The bread tasted amazing, it must be either homemade or made locally. I'd recommend this spot in Prescott!

This is our new favorite spot! It was so good, we actually ate here twice. The wait staff was very friendly and the timing of the service was impeccable. I'm not one to write reviews- but this place was just so good all around we wanted to make sure that everyone else can enjoy it too and that it gets recognized for the gem it is! We started with the mussels and ginger peach martinis. The drinks were great- very refreshing and not too sweet. The mussels were BOMB. The portion size is huge and this appetizer can easily feed a party of 4. We ordered gluten free bread and it was hands down the best gluten free bread I've ever had. I ordered the Ramona farms chickpea salad with chicken and my husband got the local burger with a side of the Mac n cheese. My salad was , once again, one of the best salads I've eaten. The chicken was cooked perfectly and a good portion size. The star of the salad however was the smoked olives. Oh my gosh, these olives have ruined all other olives for me! I kid you not, do yourself a favor- try these olive's because they are life changing. My husband's burger was fantastic- he even ordered it again the second time we went. My husband is a not usually a fan of "fancy" burgers- he usually gets them plain with just cheese and meat. He absolutely LOVED this burger- with everything on it including the arugula and didn't even add ketchup! The second time we went I tried the Herb marinated chicken club with the gluten free bread. It was great! We decided that this is our new must stop at spot in Prescott and our waitress Melinda was absolutely wonderful- she even got me the recipe for the gluten free bread because I liked it so much. BiGA was a wonderful experience all around- the restaurant itself has a very cool vibe -it is on the smaller side but very well spaced tables and nice eclectic decor featuring some local art. If you're in Prescott, you must try this place!

This place is small make reservations for larger parties but call ahead for smaller ones. We walked in but luckily there was bar seating still available. Friendly staff so nice and helpful. The food was so good, we didn't order allot but what we had was so filling. We started off with the burrata which was great with bread and a tomato type broth. Then we both ordered the cheddar cauliflower soup which was a absolutely one of the best soups I have had. For dessert we had the chocolate pots de crème, it's very rich and was extremely satisfying. Also for vegans/vegetarians they do accommodate. Parking is limited.

This is a late review (April 2022) Finally got in to check this place out and it was excellent! Good food and service. It's a small place with a cool vibe. Reservations are probably a good idea based on the size of the place.

We have been here 4-5 times. When we visit Prescott BiGA is a must. If we lived here full time, i would be here once a week. Restaurant is small and has a cozy vibe. The quality of the food is excellent. In my opinion the best item on the menu is the market veggie sandwich with the hatch chile Mac on the side. Salads are amazing and the veggies are excellent quality. Service is always great. One of my favorite restaurants (ever).

So let me start with the fact that we usually love this place but..... tonight we arrived at 5:30, hubby ordered 2 FULL Smoked olive salads add chicken & an iced tea. We received 2 large bowls w/exactly (could have drawn a line) half of the plate covered with greens & a chicken breast on top, as it was placed the server said "here is your olive salad with chicken split" we made her aware we each wanted a FULL she apologized and went back to get another full w/greens only. We told her "no worries we will start on this" and proceeded to spread it out in the bowl (hence no picture) the server who took our order arrived and said "I ordered 2, that's what you got" okaaaay..... well hubby finished his, I could have finished mine but felt bad for my hungry husband & gave him what I had. We had to ask for a refill of Iced Tea got one and left hungry for the bargain price of $60.00 * A HALF PLATE OF GREENS W/SMALL CHICKEN BREAST $26.00x2 SMALL MASON JAR OF ICED TEA WITH 1 REFILL $4.00 BTW we were gone by 6:10.... 40 whole mins

I have to say... this place right here. Fire...fire..fire! Great service, burger with jalapeño Mac n cheese, chicken sandwich with potato salad, and the scalloped potatoes. Can't go wrong. The hibiscus's margarita and Biga grape vodka was a nice touch to this meal. I highly recommend this place.

BiGA has a really cool vibe, small dining area and super friendly staff. The food...my husband ordered a burger with a side of chile Mac n cheese. He loved it! I ordered a BLTA with a side of chili Mac n cheese. The flavor of the BLTA was delicious, but the bacon was tough and the white toast was too. I won't order the BLTA next time, but we will try this place again! I recommend adding other choices of bread that are not as dry as white (i.e. sourdough or whole grain).

Second time in a month we've had dinner at BigA. It was also the second time in a month we left asking why we don't eat here more often. Both times we brought guests from out of town. This is serious big city food. A restaurant we can proudly show off. My porterhouse veal chop with roasted veggies was excellent. Others at our table had the roasted chicken and the striped bass. The plates looked as good as they tasted. It's obvious the chef has his act together in the back of the house. Ditto for the front of the house. Service, as always, was excellent. I think it's time to start having our mail delivered at BigA's. read more

Located near Miller valley, the restaurant is a very small and intimate setting. The staff is very accommodating & nice, the menu changes daily and they offer the finest and greatest southern and American cuisines. You must try the green chile Mac and cheese along with their homemade pie. read more

We stopped in at lunch on a week day and the place was packed,...with locals. My wife and I split a lunch and it was fantastic and filling. They have a great bar selection as well. The service was really great. Friendly staff. Very limited parking to the back. We cant wait to go back. read more

Excellent, our first visit. My wife had the Broccolini Chicken Soup. She said it was good enough that she would go back just for that; "comforting" is how she described it, and although it was ordered from the Appetizer Menu, it was "meal" size. I had the Risotto with Shrimp, again "excellent" and enough to be considered a full meal. The Lemon Tart, was tart...as it should be, very good and enough for two. Service (Gibson) was very good but there were only three parties (including us) when we arrived....it was completely full when we left. Don't know how the service is when they're full up...we'll go back and find out. read more

This is a fantastic restaurant! The food was soooo delish and Speclana, the lady who owns the place is great. We had a so much fun talking to her. Anyway the food, it was to die for. We had the Biga burger (so so good) had yummy bacon on it and the bun is made right here too. Side dish was Mac and cheese with green chilli and can I say OMG! The flavor! Great service. Menu changes daily. Rueben is amazing. Fresh salad with grilled shrimp was a lite treat. Kids love the chili mac n cheez. Came in after 1:00 and got a table immediately. Next time we are in Prescott we will make this a special stop. read more

Very good, there was a couple next to us at the bar complaining their table wasn't ready, well, it is small and they don't take reservations for under 5 people, the customers were rude, hopefully they don't post negatively. The staff were very nice to them, giving them their drinks free. We only had to wait 15 minutes and the food was wonderful. read more

This was a wonderful experience. The surroundings were cozy, our waiter was fantastic and the food was very warm. We had the garlic bread, the New Orleans bbq shrimp and the vegetarian sandwich. This is just the type of restaurant that I love. It's a tiny little place with surprisingly gourmet food. The service was very friendly. When our waitress found out this was our first visit, she took the time to go over thee I with us and answer questions. We started with the New Orleans shrimp for an appetizer. Delicious. It had the perfect amount of spice: just hot enough to give it bite, but didn't detract from the flavor of the shrimp. My grilled cheese was phenomenal. I've never before had a grilled cheese that I could describe as both crispy and fluffy. My hubby got the Asian turkey burger, and the flavor was right on. We finished off with a salted caramel bread pudding which was heavenly. We will definitely be back, and next time we'll bring friends. read more

Loved loved loved this gem of a restaurant! The menu is small but the flavors are big. My husband and I split a veggie burger and although I typically don't eat veggie burgers this meal will change my opinion of them as it was by far the best I ever had. The sauce on the burger was a party for my mouth. I'm stingy about the star rating I give but this is definitely a 5 star meal. I also had the tomato and cucumber salad. It was very fresh with just the right amount of dressing. We then split a salted caramel bread pudding. The name speaks for itself but let me tell you I asked my husband for one bite and then he had to stop me after I already ate half. It's the perfect combination of sweet and salty. This is a small place - only about 8 tables but they also have a bar with what looked like a great selection of drinks and about 4 stools. Next time I go to Prescott this will have to be a must stop for me. Can't say enough about this culinary delight! read more

Yummy tasty food and despite what I read about service from other reviews our service was hands down perfection. I tried the Asian turkey burger and it was so delicious I'm wanting it now for breakfast. My friend got the Hungarian meatballs which I tried and they were super moist and full of flavor. its really really small inside and we only waited about 3-5 minutes for a table. I enjoyed the lemon drop martini as well. Will definitely be back to this hole in the wall. read more

Great food and cozy atmosphere and a mixed crowd so be open to alternative lifestyles in close proximity (all very cordial). A little small inside so they will need to expand soon if business continues brisk. Recommend the salted Carmel bread pudding for desert. The best I have had in my 54 years, an A+++!. Had their sauerbraten today. The potato salad was in chunks and very tasty although I prefer it sliced. Good vinegar nose to it as it is supposed to be. The red cabbage with apples was perfect with the balance of acidity nicely moderated with the apples. The meat was pretty good but I suspect that additional marination and a touch more gravy would have been a touch better. Nonetheless a very lovely lunch accompanied by their house Malbec. read more

Both the food & the service are exceptional! We were a party of 2, early for Fri dinner @ 5. We had an Australian Cab & a Hibiscus Marg., cheers! Both drinks tasted great. Our Food Order: Butternut squash toast, Mussels in broth, & Veggie sandwich with side of green-chile mac n cheese. All the food was tasty & prepared just right! The portions are generous & the food is locally sourced. I am a farmer's market shopper and it's wonderful to know where the food comes from when I eat out at a restaurant. Went with a friend for dinner. Amazing food, but the restaurant itself is less than appealing. It's small. It's hot (no a/c). Fans are dirty. Wood tables sticky, no tablecloths. 5 stars because the food was delicious. 0 stars for the hot and dirty environment. Can't do 2 5 stars, so landed on 3. We won't be back. Too bad. Although the menu is not large, what they do offer are wonderful and delicious. The key to a good sandwich is good bread and theirs is delicious. I had the BLT and the gourmet mayonaise was superb. The staff is friendly and the drinks were great. We will be back. read more

I was recommended to order the herb chicken, hands-down best chicken I've had in years! I believe Kevin was working in the kitchen, but everything was phenomenal! The BLT was also very impressive! I am very pleased right now :) I will make my best attempt to go and more often. read more

Yelp indicated that this business is closed however it is not. I met a couple of lady friends there for lunch and we each had the soup and a small side salad. The noise level was high so it was difficult to have a conversation, however the food was very good.The salads were fresh and had great homemade dressings and you could tell that the chef made an extra effort to kick an average salad up a notch by adding a variety of radishes and vegetables. Fresh home made soup and salad for under $10. read more

Lucked upon this place about a month ago and have been back several times. Specializes in farm to table, lots of local fresh food. Everything we have had so far has been delicious. Would give five stars for food(menu changes regularly), the space is a little small and gets very loud as the place is always packed, so just four stars for ambience. This was our first time there, but what a wonderful surprise. It only has 8 tables, a small bar and parking is a challenge... small lot but plenty of close street parking, but great food. They bake their own bread, which is reason enough to try their food. I had a hot Italian coldcut sandwich and my wife had a turkey burger. Both were excellent. The specials and salads looked great as well. Service was very prompt and friendly. Will definitely return. read more

History

Established in 2017.

BiGA first opened it's doors in 2014 by two women from the East Coast. BiGA quickly became THE place for locals to eat and enjoy a good meal away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Prescott. Today, now named BiGA by Senses, is owned and operated by Chef John Panza, formerly of Capital Canyon Club in Prescott, AZ, the Hilton Bay Front Hotel in San Diego and Different Pointe of View in Phoenix. Chef John's dishes are a cut above the rest, using new and innovative cooking techniques and the freshest produce around from farms like Whipstone Farm in Paulden, AZ and Hassayampa Vineyard and Farm in Kirkland, AZ. They come with pickled slaw, pico de gallo, cotija, smoked chile cilantro aioli, avocado crème served on either corn or flour tortilla. You get two full size tacos which is a nice amount of food. They are flavorful and really hit the spot. The goat cheese salad was my home run of the meal! It has an arugula base and is topped with goat cheese, chia seeds, glazed walnuts, sun dried strawberries, candy striped beets and mission fig balsamic dressing. There is just enough dressing to add to the flavor without being over powering. The salad in the picture is a small. Next time I will get the large, add a protein and make it my meal! My husband had the Farm fettuccine with chicken. During his first couple bites he was very impressed but thought it became bland as he dug deeper into the bowl. He still thought it was good and finished the bowl but had to add some pepper and salt. It is made with fresh fettuccine noodles, pancetta, wild mushrooms, AZ sun-dried tomatoes, aged pecorino, FARM alfredo sauce. There is a full bar and a speciality drink menu. We sat on the patio which is very small and is on the corner so there is a lot of traffic. We dont mind because we like to people watch. Parking is on the street so expect to search for a spot on the weekends. Service was great! Our waitress even brought a small table fan to shoo off a persistent fly. Definitely a place we would return to for a tasty meal and great service!

We had a pretty long walk weaving through all the St patty's day revelers.

Before my first visit, it had probably been ten years since I'd had meatloaf. Now this sandwich has changed the rules. It will knock your socks off. The bread is excellent, the flavors are rich and satisfying, and the whole thing tastes like comfort food done right. Great food, great beer, and my only complaint is that I wish they had a growler refill service. Good eating, nice friendly place.

From our friendly greeting at the door to the warm, heartfelt, handshake goodbye,this was a great dining experience. Delilah, our waitress, was one of the best we've ever had! She could not have been more helpful, friendly, courteous, efficient, if she tried. She even brought the bottle of wine my friend loved (which she had recommended) over so my friend could take a photo of the label. We were there for lunch during restaurant week for the $25 Prix fixed meal. The quality and presentation of the food were fantastic. With each bite all four us were saying how delicious it was and how much we enjoyed it. Don't expect to go away full, but definitely satisfied. read more

I haven't tried everything yet, but the menu is small and incredibly well done, so someday I will have tried it all. They make all of their bread from scratch at the location..It makes the biggest difference. Every sandwich I have ever ordered is delicious. Made to perfection. I don't think Biga is pricey, especially for the quality you are going to receive. I have only dined here during lunch hours, as I work around the corner. We went to BIGA earlier this year to eat and celebrate after our elopement at Watson Lake and I've been dreaming about their food ever since. Their vegetarian options are fantastic and their homemade bread is to die for. I love that they use seasonal and regional products, because sustainability and supporting local businesses are very dear to my heart. We've come back once already after eating there in February and will pop in whenever we're in Prescott again. Don't forget to look at the dessert menu. The ordering system is first rate with virtually every single choice imaginable so you get exactly what you want.
