Went to Bill Dunn to have sun-visors put on my 55 BelAir. The car already was nicely upholstered several years ago in Arizona but for some reason they never had sun-visors installed. Junior looked at the car and said they could make and install sun-visors to match the interior. Junior showed me several options but had a swatch that matched the interior perfectly. After the sun-visors were installed they blended so well they looked like they were installed with the interior originally which was exactly what i was looking for. Junior took his time, listened to what i wanted and gave good feedback. What a sweet job on the interior and top of our '89 Ford Mustang Convertible. The seats are my favorite part of the whole restoration and the material is so reminiscent of the original! The seats look perfect. Absolutely perfect...tight and stitched so well. And the top has a huge window in it now whereas the original was pretty small. My son loves it; we didn't realize the window would be so big. This is a family owned business which is pretty neat in this day and age. Each family member was super nice and patient with all my questions and chatter about restoration. I had a great experience with Bill Dunn. I needed the front seats on my Macan reupholstered. I got a bid from another shop and it was very high and the shop was not super friendly. Then I went to Bill Dunn and met Hector. He was extremely friendly and accommodating and knew his stuff. While his bid was not cheap - it was lower than the other shop. He ordered samples of the vinyl to make sure it would match and kept me updated by text. I was able to bring my car in as soon as the material came in and they finished it in a few days. I brought in my '72 MGB to have a new soft-top installed. I'd purchased a new top-frame and soft-top beforehand to make sure it was correct as there are a few options for my car. These guys were twice as expensive as 2 other quotes but I went there anyway because someone had referred me and I assumed they'd do a good job. They installed the top so misaligned that the passenger door will not open because the top is hanging so far over the window (it's meant to fit neatly inside the window with a rain gutter sitting above the window.) They said nothing about it when I picked it up until I mentioned it didn't look straight, they said it was probably my frame. I only noticed how misaligned it was when I had a proper look at home. I brought it back in for them to diagnose today and all I was met with were excuses that my car, the top and my top-frame were the issue. That their only job was to wrap the soft-top over the frame and connect it to the header. My car is 50 years old, so it may be the case that there is some misalignment, but the top-frame and top are brand new. I asked why they didn't call me once they noticed how wrong it was, so we could work out how to make it right. Because right now it is unusable. They said it's not their problem. I asked if they think returning the car to a customer when they cannot use the passenger side door was acceptable, again, wasn't their fault, they did their job fine apparently. So you can imagine the attention to detail these guys have. I was speaking politely with Hector Sr. about the issues with the job when Hector Jr. came out all guns blazing with his mask pulled down. I asked him to pull his mask up and step back a bit, and he said "Oh you're really paranoid huh?" Again, an eye into the person I'm dealing with. We went round in circles for 15 mins, trying to explain that although I paid them to install the soft-top, it has not been done correctly. Hector Jr. kept insisting "it was my car and top-frame's fault, and how was he supposed to know." He couldn't answer me why he didn't notice how far off the alignment was once finished and call me to make it right. If he'd noticed the poor job, we could have made arrangements to alter the frame so it fits the car better. Hector Jr. suggested that my feelings were hurt because he didn't call me, and that I needed a hug. When I spoke about how much money everything was costing and that it should be done right, he said "you're just like my wife, always bringing up prices of things". I don't envy his wife having to deal with his passive-aggressive, argumentative nature. It seems he thinks highly of her, making fun of her to try and bring me down. At this stage I think Hector Jr. is embarrassed about the poor job they've done and has become defensive about his attention to detail. He kept saying i wasn't listening, and that I was twisting words to try and get the answer I wanted. The answer to the question I kept asking "how do we do this correctly?" I was struggling to find a different way of asking Hector Jr. in a way he understood, "I've paid you $1100 to fit a soft-top to my car, it is so far off being done properly, to the point I cannot open the door, so how do we fix it?". He finally relented and offered to have his specialist diagnose what they could do, next time they are available. Which is what should have happened 3 weeks ago when they first installed it poorly. So why did we have to go round and round in circles blaming everything on the car except the "perfect" job they did? I guess I'm going to have to pay someone to alter the frame so the top fits properly, but I'd rather find someone else to fix the job if it means not having to deal with this attitude anymore. read more

I came to this place to repair the leather piece around the shifter for my BMW 540i. I was really anxious of how the result will turn out. "Look in my shop, not to degrade your car but I work on, psh, you know, some pretty nice cars, so yours will be a piece of cake", was how I was greeted by Hector Sr., of Bill Dunn's One Stop Shop. I had a pretty small tear in my passenger seat stitching of my Dodge Charger and wanted it fixed. After countless hours of research, Bill Dunn became my spot. After I was greeted and told the delightful comment by Hector Sr., I put down my $229 deposit of the $458 job and was told "next week you'll get a call". Flash forward to three weeks later.... No call, no big deal. I call Bill Dunn, with my yellow receipt copy in my hand and am greeted on the phone with the news that no one had any clue who I was, what kind of car I had or the part that was supposedly ordered. I read off my yellow receipt and was told "We will call you on Monday with an update". I patiently await for Monday to arrive with the call I was supposed to receive. Of course I miss the call and the voicemail is a worker, Noel, asking me to call back. I call back to hear Noel saying "Ma'am are you sure you brought your car here?" Obviously I wasn't an idiot and proved that I had been there and sent a photo of my receipt via text message to his cell phone. The order is now placed with an apology which I accept. One week later I get the call "the part is in, come on down". Oh, how I wish the part never came. I dropped my car off at 10am and asked how long it would take as I was going out of town and then expressed if it was NOT a one day job, I would come back when I had more time. "This is easy, you'll have it done by 5". I leave my car anxious and excited to finally have a solid passenger seat. Around 4:45 I call them and Noel says my car is done and to come at 5:20. So my daughter drops me off and the "Kill Dunn" shop begins. Noel greets me and politely says he needs a few more minutes to finish up my car. No problem, I grab my phone and a seat and I wait. 45 minutes later, I stood up and realized I was totally alone in the shop so I go outside and asked for Noel, only to be told that he left for the day. I check my passenger seat and the "fabric" was put in so poorly I almost couldn't believe it was finished. Instead of that tight and perfectly sewn in leather, I received loose, wrinkly and uncut seamed leather. I immediately ask them to put my seat back in my car as I was not going to have a company continue to mess with me. This is when Hector Jr. is called. The upholster called Hector Jr. and put me on the phone "what's going on ma'am". I explain to him how Noel left, my car looked worse than before I brought it in and I wanted the seat back in my car, in my property. He arrived at the shop 5 minutes later and got in my face and said "this wasn't an oil change it was an upholstery job and it takes time, what did you expect". I may be a woman but I am not stupid. Being greeted with an extreme attitude and having a condescending conversation, right in my face, made me feel like I was a crazy woman. The back and forth went on and on and while I was constantly made to feel like I was an idiot, I just kept demanding for the seat to be placed back in my car and to give me my car keys so I could leave. The workers even said how horrible the seat looked and it would take hours for them to fix, I didn't have hours to spare and because of the way Noel left me hanging and Hector Jr. getting in my face and lying about the reasons Noel left and the condition of my vehicle, I wanted to leave. At this point I would rather have Edward Scissorhands fix the tear in my seat and he would have done a better job. I'm a small business owner, I understand long lines, and lost receipts and I never give the small business a bad review. But two small men will get a horrible review everyday in my book. In the course of installing a new convertible top on my classic Cadillac, these guys left the ignition on overnight, burning out the coil and the igniter. It cost me $600, plus towing, to have their damage repaired. When confronted on the phone, Hector the manager agreed to pay half of the $600.repair bill. So far he has paid nothing. I have an 2010 Acura TSX, and one thing I did not know going into purchasing this car was that the interior was not made the same quality as the previous Acura's I have owned. to make a long story short the main part of the seats are made of leather, but the sides are made of faux leather, and so was the drive shifter boot. After less then 60,000 miles the side of the driver seat has started to peel off, and so was the shift boot. I felt like my car looked so run down when you step inside. Thanks to both Hectors and their team over at Bill Dunn my car was restored back to what it looked like out of the factory, but with genuine, good quality leather this time.
