Instead, both P-trap installations failed immediately, leading to water intrusion inside the sink cabinets and the need for professional water damage mitigation. Having the same failure occur on both sinks points to a significant workmanship issue and is not what I would expect from a professional plumbing company. Both P-traps installed by Bill Howe leaked from the outset. About a week later, I found standing water in both cabinets. Bill Howe's restoration team later confirmed the leak originated from the P-trap installation and noted that the wood in one cabinet was saturated. What should have been a routine job ultimately required six separate visits from Bill Howe plumbing and restoration personnel. Drying equipment remained in my home for several days, creating ongoing noise and disruption to my household and work schedule. I requested written documentation of what happened on more than six occasions. The service note I eventually received did not reflect my statements accurately and, in my view, minimized the underlying plumbing failure. I also requested a partial refund to account for the deficient workmanship and resulting disruption; those requests were deferred and ultimately went unanswered. The lack of customer service follow-through compounded the impact of the original issue. Bill Howe's website promises "Fast, reliable service," "uninterrupted comfort and peace of mind," and that "Customer Satisfaction [is] Our Top Priority." Called this plumbing company because I had a leak under my sink. The technician came out, looked at it for maybe 10 minutes, and said he couldn't figure out what was causing the leak. He didn't fix anything, didn't attempt any real troubleshooting, and basically just stood there before leaving. Despite doing absolutely nothing to resolve the issue, I was charged nearly $200 for the visit. Paying that much for someone to tell me they "don't know" and walk out the door is incredibly frustrating. I understand service calls can cost money, but charging that much when no work was done and no solution was provided feels unreasonable. Very disappointing experience. Would not recommend. read more

Extortion! A strong word but very appropriate for this experience. I'm a long time, loyal customer of Bill Howe plumbing. Over the last 13 years or more, they have been to all of my rental properties as well as my home and our families commercial office rental property that I manage. I used them because they have an army of plumbers that can take care of most issues the same day. They were never cheap but always reasonable. I will never use these dishonest people again. I had an emergency on a Saturday at one of my rental properties. A toilet valve sprung a leak. They told me upfront that it would cost an additional $250 for the emergency call. I'm fine with that. What they didn't tell me upfront was the ridicules fee they were going to charge me to change the valve. The lady that took my call kept using the term "fixed pricing" If they use that term on you, HANG UP and call one of their MANY Competitors. $517 to replace the copper angle in the wall (fixed price) plus another $250 for the valve replacement (fixed price) and the $250 emergency fee. $1017 dollars later, the valve was replaced. To any other plumber, this would normally be a $250 fix including the parts. Add the emergency call and I would have been another happy, continuing customer. Having used them before to change out valves this was shocking. Yep, the plumber called me before he did the work and stated how much it would be but when you have tenants, there is no time to shop around. My fault for not having an alternate emergency plumber. I have 3 in my phone now! And by the way, they won't remove drywall if your property was built pre 1985. Absolutely worthless in an emergency! I had removed some drywall before I called BH and my tenant removed just a little more for him to do the repair. This is how Bill Howe repays loyalty. You guys are dead to me! read more

I rarely give reviews but these guys were so good I just had to tell their boss via yelp. Had issues with the hot water today and my landlord called Bill Howe to fix it. Asher and Michael came by and spent literally 6 hours taking apart the old heater, installing the new, fixing all the valves in both showers, and they even fixed the loosened kitchen faucet. They were nice, clean (always wore boot covers in the house), and even though the bathrooms were a mess when they were working - they were sparking clean when they left. They even folded a towel in a roll like a hotel! Can't say much for the value as the landlords covered the cost but the convenience factor of them having a new hot water heater on hand was amazing. 10/10 would use them again. We have consistently used Bill Howe for our plumbing needs. So, when we needed to relocate the Soft Water Conditioner to make room for another piece of equipment on the side of the house we naturally chose them. It was a simple job: shorten the existing supply and return lines so we could relocate the Soft Water Conditioner five feet. My instructions were clear. I would disconnect the soft water conditioner from the existing pipes. The were to shorten the lines and relocate the vertical pipes to the location I specified. I would reconnect the soft water conditioner to the relocated pipes. The technician did exactly that, but he went above and beyond. He reconnected the soft water conditioner to the relocated pipes. Well, that was very nice. Except the connections were reversed. Even when I asked him if he double checked he confirmed he did it correctly. Unfortunately, I trusted and didn't verify. Later that day, the softwater resin pellets travelled all through the house plumbing and the whole home water filter clogged. I flushed the house plumbing as best I could and cleaned the Acqusana whole house water filter system. I do not know if any permanent damage was done to it. I suppose time will tell. This action depleted the softwater resin pellets I replaced last summer. It's been over two weeks and they have not scheduled an appointment to correct their mistake. Initially they said the technician who does that was on vacation. They only have one person? Still waiting despite multiple contacts with their plumbing supervisor. read more

I had a leak under the kitchen sink. Called a different 24 hour company, they said it would take two days to come out and look at it. Called Bill Howe, and they came the next day. Turns out it was the seals on the garbage disposal, and the unit needed to be replaced. Messiah was the name of the tech who came, figured out the problem, went out to get a replacement disposal, installed it, cleaned up the mess, and made sure everything worked properly. At 10 in the morning last Friday, we discovered water leaking onto the garage floor from our 15-year-old water heater. By 3:00 that afternoon, we had Julio working on installing a new one. Told us, the day when the drywall was going to arrive - no call no show Sales man thought the job was completed and it was not yet completed. Still missing baseboards in 3 rooms that we can not find. We think they were thrown away. Sink stopper in bathroom actuator was cross threaded and only tightened 3 turns which allowed water to leak out from the drain into the cabinet below. Told us, all we were responsible for was to paint after job was completed. However, when they did schedule the drywall, we were told that we were responsible for putting up medicine cabinets, lights, baseboards as well as paint. The job was quoted for 2 weeks and took 5 weeks to complete - We have been put through all the stress, anxiety, problems, miss communication for the last 5 weeks. Complete waste of money. I spent almost $400 for Bill Howe to attempt to fix a leaky shower faucet that had a steady stream of water dripping out of it. The extent of the work that was done by the tech included removing the shower stem, going out to buy a replacement part since it's an old Pfister, and then twisting it back in. Guess what? That didn't fix the issue at all and the steady stream of water continued to pour out of my shower faucet. Bill Howe's next recommendation was to spend $1,600 to cut open the tile, replace all the valves, and install all new everything (and then add a pressure regulator on top of that). I called an actual plumber who immediately fixed the problem. He was also astounded that the Bill Howe tech didn't bother to check the seat that sits in the valve because if they had, they would've seen that just replacing the stem wasn't going to solve anything since the seat was corroded. The actual plumber showed me the stem that Bill Howe installed and said that it was either a defective piece from the plumbing supply store or was damaged during the installation since the threads were already damaged. I spent about the same amount of money to have an actual plumber rebuild the existing valves and replace all of the stems (again, all Bill Howe did was buy a new stem and twist it in and didn't even bother to put plumber's grease on it). The only positive part of the experience was that the tech from Bill Howe was a nice guy and seemed like he genuinely wanted to help. TL;DR: paid almost $400 to be in the same exact situation that I was in before Bill Howe attempted to fix my shower leak. I truly can't believe their solution was to give them even more money to undertake unnecessary work. If you need actual plumbing work done, consider looking elsewhere. read more

I normally don't leave negative reviews, but my experience with Bill Howe Plumbing Heating & Air Restoration & Flood Services was so unethical that I feel obligated to warn others. I had a tiny cold water line leak in my guest half bathroom. Raul quoted $5,170 to run a new above ground cold water line. The price seemed reasonable, so I agreed. The next morning, Raul suggested re-piping the entire bathroom "since the walls would already be open." When he showed the invoice on his phone, it was difficult to read, and we assumed it was a small increase -- maybe $2,000 more. Instead, when we called the financing department ourselves, we learned the total was $12,000. This was the first time we realized the "extra work" was actually an additional $6,000. When the plumbers were asked justify the upcharge they could not say anything beyond saying, "It's a flat rate fee." As a small business owner, I believe in ethical pricing. If any employee of this company went to the grocery store and was charged $1,000 for a loaf of bread or a bottle of milk and told it was a "flat rate fee," they would immediately understand how unreasonable and unethical that is. Yet this is exactly how I was treated. The lack of transparency, unclear invoicing, and sudden doubling of the price felt deceptive. The job is now half completed, and the dispute is ongoing. Our water heater started to leak on a Friday night, and I called Bill Howe first thing Saturday morning. By 9:30 Tyler arrived to assess the situation and recommended a new water heater. We have an unusual type of heater and he and the team located us a replacement and picked it up before noon to save us from waiting another 2 days for hot water. Tyler was very professional and took his time explaining everything to us. Anthony came later in the day to remove the old unit and replace it with the new water heater. He was also very professional and got right to work. He did the installation and worked hard for a few hours on the job by himself. I was impressed with his positive attitude and work ethic. The Bill Howe website says they perform Dryer Duct Cleaning, but when I called to get an appointment, the guy at Bill Howe seemed confused and said they were "taking a break" from offering that service.
