We had an issue with rodent infestation into our Ducting (horrible smell). Called Kutz HVAC (and 2 other companies) in the Windsor area. Kutz came out to assess (Tyler) and he identified the problem. They did NOT try to tell me "I also needed this or that", i.e., air conditioning, new heater. The price for the installation was $1000's less than others, they provided me a certificate of insurance (did not have to ask them twice), we planned a date to replace the ducting (with a aluminum ducting) they showed up on time, professional installers, cleaned up, pleasant, etc. They also did not attempt to sell me "a monthly service contract". In 2020 our AC went out, first two bidders from large well known Sonoma county HVAC contractors immediately went into sales mode and try to sell me a new system. During the last heat wave, it was terribly hot inside and my cat was pretty sick. The added stress of the heat was exacerbating his illness. I am extremely pleased with the service I received from Travis at Bill Kutz's company. My wall gas heater stopped heating ... stopped doing that "whoosh" sound when it turned on, but still radiated some heat. What Travis didn't know is that I had called other repairmen before him. I called a company on Monday, but by Wednesday they still hadn't made it to my house. When I said I was going to try someone else, they made a referral of someone who came out right away. This person was in my home maybe 60 seconds and announced that my heater needed a new gas value, $850, but he would recommend a whole new heater for $2,500. He didn't know that I already knew I could get a new unit at Home Depot for $835. I asked him how much extra to change out the thermostat which was acting wonky, and he said $350. I thanked him, gave him $80 for his diagnostic charge, and let him leave. I called Bill Kutz and Travis came the next morning. Travis spent about 45 minutes, getting out his tools looking at everything. He said maybe the gas value, which would be about $435. If I wanted a new unit, it would be about $1,800, but he didn't think that was necessary. He found the problem, the thermostat, changed it out and charged me a whooping $165 total. Including the thermostat. He took his time, correctly diagnosed the problem, and was courteous and professional throughout and saved me a couple thousand dollars.
