They usually get me in and out in about an hour. Their work seems good for regular service like oil changes and tire rotations. For years my son has had his vehicles including his las three Ram Diesels serviced at BMR (Bill McNally Racing. My engine light came on recently, I stopped by the Roseville, Riverside Napa shop. Upon arrival I was greeted by Zoe, who provided me a diagnostic test, and idea what the problem could be. After determining the issues, the car was moved to one of the bays for servicing area. I had left several needed and personal things in the car, she didn't hesitate and promptly retrieved them. She followed up with phone calls, on several occasions and BMR finish the hour before expected. Zoe knew exactly what she was doing, with customers on the phone and at the counter. It appears that openly and loudly discussing how "poor people" are to blame for society's ills is part of this company's culture. I will not be coming back based on what I experienced here today. Note: I had previously left a 5 star review for this location and a good review. I take it back. What happened? I brought my vehicle in this morning for an oil change. I was sitting in the bar area reading my book when an employee or manager, (I am unsure, whoever he was he had the latitude to stand around and talk instead of work) went to the small Hunt's Race World office to converse with the lady inside. They immediately launch into your typical brain-dead FOX News talking points volley complaining about liberals, gas prices, etc. I think this is in bad taste, but nothing I can't shrug off and carry on with life. People have the right to think what they want. However, they take things a bit further and say some things that I could not ignore. I want to be clear here, I remember EXACTLY what they said. The conversation went as follows: BMR Employee: "Liberals don't want to take responsibility for anything and make the rich out to be the bad guys." Hunts Employee: "I know." BMR Employee: "Really its the poor people who just sit around and vote for free stuff. They are to blame." Hunts Employee: "You're right." I cannot abide this. You have to be a toxic blend of being clinically stupid and morally depraved to blame poor people for whatever economic ills you perceive. Most poor people I know are good, honest, hard-working people doing the best they can with what little they have. To characterize them as people sitting around with their hands out just voting for "free stuff" is both misguided and evil. So, if you are not wealthy, I would reconsider where you take your business. If you are politically left, I would go elsewhere. If the employees feel comfortable enough to stand around and make such loud proclamations and complaints in front of paying customers, this is probably the norm throughout the company. You have the right and the power to vote with your dollars. Don't vote for companies that think it is ok to demonize the poor. read more

I gave 5 stars 6 years ago but the service just isn't the same anymore. They seem to have a different crew working. There prices are now much higher than local shops. Paid $507 for a custom alignment using adjustable suspension parts. Car was returned with adequate alignment. I drove 2 hours home and discovered a clunking noise had developed. Paid a friendly shop next door to investigate and they found BMR had not tightened any of the alignment bolts down after adjusting, creating a serious safety risk. The manager agreed to refund the cost I had to pay the other shop to retighten bolts, and perform a second alignment. The suspension specialist at BMR told me he could not get the alignment straight, and what I got was the best he could do. The manager has not refunded anything and is now dodging my phone calls. read more

I've been bringing my cars to the Roseville location for 4 years. They have always been friendly and completed the repairs in a timely manner for an average price compared to other repair shops. I'm bringing my car today for an oil change. Update 10/13/23: I'm changing my review from 5 stars to 3 stars. Nobody works here that I remember from a year or so ago. They're nice enough but I just don't trust them like I used to. They said they inspected my cabin filter but I had to replace it after checking it myself when I got home. It was filled with dirt and leaves and definitely hadn't been changed in a while. Then I brought my other car for an oil change and they checked the brakes and said they have the same amount remaining as my last visit over a year ago. Update 10/27/23: I changed my review to 1 star. They said they checked and topped off the fluids and today I had to add power steering fluid. They said they inflated all my tires but today I had a low pressure alert because they didn't check my spare tire. They said they tested my battery and I couldn't start my car because the cable was loose. Then I find out they ruined the cable and it couldn't be tightened enough so I had it replaced (at another dealer) which wound up costing me $480. I'll never go to Bill McAnally Racing auto service (BMR) again. read more

I had my AC compressor changed 2 1/2 years ago. It cost nearly $1000. My compressor went out again over the weekend. I called and was told my warranty expired. An AC compressor should last 10-12 years. According to the NHTSB, 99% of compressor failures are caused by improper install. It is nearly unheard of to have to replace one a second time. I was told there is nothing they can do for me and I would have to pay for a brand new repair. read more

5.0 star rating 5/23/2019 We have an old Ford Taurus that we've had pretty good luck with and after being hurt in the recession would rather keep it than spring for a new car (yet). It's had a power steering problem for about a year but all we've had to do is put fluid in a few times a week. We have completely recovered since the recession but didn't get it fixed due to vast variations in estimates that didn't make sense. This week everything changed. The fluid would pour straight out. With fear I drove to Les Shwab. They advised me that it was too big of a job and recommended BMR. Again I white-knuckled it to get to BMR. The experience was superior from the first interaction. The gentleman at the front desk was reassuring and explained each step. What he couldn't have known was I was frantic, upset and at wits end because I was convinced I was going to be stuck on the side of the road or worse. I waited about an hour and received a clear estimate with explanation of what needed to be done. He then called Enterprise who came to get me as I needed a car overnight. The following day I returned the car, picked up my car and it drove great! The receipt had everything written out. The price was good. It was midway between our low and high and we felt it was a good deal. The waiting room is really a showroom for racing. They have a shop for NASCAR fans with T-shirt's etc. You can also look at his race cars in the spotless garage. There are awards all over the place. You can look around for a long time without getting bored. We found our place! read more

The absolute best vehicle service I have ever received!!! Last month I heard an advertisement on the radio for Bill McAnallly Racing Napa Auto Care Center in Roseville offering a free 31 point inspection for my Toyota Tacoma. I made the appointment for late December 2020 and arrived at the location, which is very clean and welcoming. The staff seemed very knowledgeable and completed the inspection in a very timely manner while I waited in the nice waiting area. The inspection report stated that everything on the vehicle was in top shape and no service was needed. One month later, (today 1/27/21), I went to another service center in Roseville for an oil change and tire rotation. Since I needed to pick up maps and obtain a travel plan printout for an upcoming cross country trip I thought I could just get the service completed at the same time. (The service also included a free brake inspection since they had forgotten to inspect the brakes 5,000 miles ago when the vehicle had been serviced at this other location (Not Napa Auto Care - Bill McAnally). To my shock, I was informed that I needed new front brakes, and that since I had already had brakes replaced previously, I would not be able to use the same rotors and would need to get these new parts as well. The estimate was more expensive than I had thought. It didn't seem right based upon the last inspection I had from Napa Auto Care - Bill McAnally, and the fact that it has not been that many miles since my last brakes had been installed. Even though this service center was available and willing to do the job that same afternoon I passed on the offer. I immediately drove back to Napa Auto Care - Bill McAnally and explained what had transpired between their inspection 2,000 miles and one month ago, and the status the other service center was suggesting. George Hocker was at the front desk and was more than accommodating. He immediately had Whitney take my vehicle into the shop and she had it up on the rack and the wheels off for another inspection. Both George and Whitney brought me into the shop and showed me the actually brake life left on both front tires - which in their best estimate is at least another 10,000 plus miles and no where close to needing to be replaced. The staff at Napa Auto Care Center - Bill McAnally in Roseville were very helpful, professional, and absolutely put my mind at ease. Both shops knew that I was planning a cross country trip leaving immediately. The shop that recommended the brakes be replaced added stress and a feeling that I was putting myself at risk to drive the vehicle in the current condition. This was totally the opposite with George and Whitney from Napa Auto Care Center - Bill McAnally. They immediately provided service above and beyond, and went the extra step to put my mind at ease, by showing me that I would be safe driving the vehicle. In addition they didn't charge me a dime for either inspection. I cannot recommend Napa Auto Care Center - Bill McAnally any higher. I had no idea that they provided any & all services for vehicles, any vehicles. I thought it was only for racing cars! I would definitely have any future work completed by this shop and these mechanics. I will never return to the other service center, or the dealership in town - both of which have told me on more than one occasion that I needed service completed when I did not. The truth and honesty shown by Napa Auto Care Center - Bill McAnally is the gold star above the auto care service they perform. I am in the process of purchasing an inexpensive used vehicle, and have been browsing the lots along Riverside Avenue in Roseville. Most of the car lots sell their vehicles as-is. I know next to nothing about vehicles, and my husband, though he works on his car, is far from a master mechanic, so I have been very concerned about getting gypped and winding up with a clunker. I was referred to this place from my local mechanic in Lodi, as it's too far of a drive for the used car lots to allow me me to take a car for evaluation. Let me say right now that I am very impressed and happy with my experience today at BMR Auto Care. They were able to take the car right away, without an appointment. I was given a list ahead of time that went over what they checked as a standard evaluation (which cost me just under $75), and asked if there was anything specific we were concerned about, which was noted on the form. They drove the car around back to their gigantic garage, and I sat and waited. Their facility is clean and bright, and the service area in back had all kinds of cars being worked on, from everyday vehicles to classic cars, and all in between. While waiting, I also overheard how other customers - both over the phone and in person - were treated, and was reassured. These are car people, not salesmen... and they enjoy what they do. They did not seem stressed or rushed in any way; they were pleasant without the fake, overly-cheery attitude that salespeople have. When the examination was complete, the clerk behind the counter came out and sat down with me to go over the results of the test. She made sure I understood everything they found good and bad, without making me feel like I was stupid about automotive stuff, and advised me what the mechanic's opinion was, and her opinion, in an encouraging, "this can give you leverage to lower the price down" way. I was given a verbal, ballpark-figure estimate of what it might cost to do the repairs at their shop, as well. She asked my husband and I if we had any other questions, then we went over and paid for the test. I left feeling confident that I had the information I needed to make the correct decision on this vehicle, which we are placing a lower offer on. The dealer is wanting to have his mechanic evaluate it to see if they can offer a better price on the repairs, so we shall see. But for an out-of-towner who wants a car evaluated thoroughly by people who aren't just out to get your money - BMR Auto Care is the place to go. read more

First rate repairs and always done right the first time. A bit more expensive than some shops, but you get what you pay for. These guys are pros. It is apparent their staff love their work, it's not just a job to them, because cars (racing) are their passion. They never try to "upsell" you, and in fact, ( I own five vehicles) they have (more than once) not charged me a dime for their time and effort to diagnose a problem when they were not able to duplicate what turned out to be intermittent problems. Other places will recommend a repair if they aren't certain, and then 'discount' further 'repairs' until they finally figure it out. Not these guys. I believe they are honest and value repeat customers over a quick buck. Give them a try. read more

This is sad on my part. A friend was asking me if I'd ever had the brakes repaired on my 2001 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. And yes, I'd had the front brakes/rotors replaced once, back in March 2010. where? Right here at Bill McAnally Racing of course. I'd heard good things back then and they were all true. Service was done as described and priced accordingly. Service staff were very friendly and quick to call when the job was done. Why I hadn't written the review? Lots more stuff was going on way back then...but at least it was written. Great job guys/gals @ BMR! I'd definitely go back....course I don't live local anymore, but if you are, I recommend going here. Oh yeah, the brakes? Over 28k mi on them since, work flawlessly of course. I have been a customer for at least 10 years now. I go to the Antelope shop. They've always treated me fairly, were honest and the people at the desk were friendly and willing to help. Since the beginning of this year, the atmosphere seems to have changed. They had several people leave and they had a person from the Roseville shop transfer to this one. When I have been in with service issues, I cringe if I have to deal with her. She's not friendly at All. She always seems to have an attitude, is very much NOT helpful, doesn't seem to want to explain anything and seems reticent to give out specific cost information ahead of time.She seems like she could careless if she has my business or not. My most recent interaction was with her on the phone asking for a price quote for an oil change. Again, the way she acted on the phone was not to the level that I've been used to in the past from them. I no longer feel like my business is wanted or appreciated so I will be going elsewhere. read more

OK members of the discerning public, here's my beef. I have an old, but very custom garage queen in my Southern South Sac garage. She's your typical hotrod with her quirks but I love her just the same. I had a brand new set of street engineered dual carburetors installed professionally but could not find anyone to tune them. Imagine my relief when I got in touch with BMR in Roseville who claimed to not only be up to the task, but were able to take her straight away. They quoted me $350 which I thought was a bit steep considering I had the tuning spec sheet and 24 hour tech support for the carbs, but hey, beggars can't be choosers. So I fired her up one morning and made the 40 minute trek on I-80 with no trouble. Check in was a breeze (yay) and they told me they would let me know when it was ready, so we cruised our pursuit vehicle back home. Several hours later, I received a call with the bad news, the mechanic didn't like the sound my valves were making (boo) so they wanted to do a diagnostic and wouldn't touch the carbs till they figured out the issue. Several hours after that I got the worse news (really boo). They couldn't find a problem per se, but because further diagnostic would require a deeper dive into the motor, they highly recommended a new engine, to the tune of $6500! The bright side, they insisted, was they could get a remanufactured crate motor for only $5000 installed (only?!?). Smoking deal, they insisted, but sadly couldn't quote me to rebuild my current engine since they didn't know what was wrong with it. Drove back to Roseville, paid $350 to pick up my car, and have been driving it ever since with no problems. Kicker is, they never touched my carbs. I paid $350 for a diagnostic I didn't want and a diagnosis I didn't get. Don't say I didn't warn you. read more

After buying the car we returned to BMR to address a few issues they had pointed out in the pre-purchase inspection. They did not push any work on us and even informed us that the issues we have could be dealt with several thousand miles down the road. Then the owner came out and introduced himself while we waited. I brought my car here for service for the high marks on yelp. The service itself was outstanding. The price was high compared to the other quotes that I received from other auto shops, but still cheaper than bringing my car to the dealer. Chris was very helpful, as well. The only reason that I did not give this place a 5-star is because of that lady on the front desk. She promised me that she will call me as soon as they have the result of the diagnostic. Three hours passed and I haven't heard a thing, so I decide to call them. She told me that they identified the problem and that she's waiting for the replacement parts to arrive. I told her to go ahead with the repair as soon as she receives the parts, and she promised to call me once the car is ready for pick up. Come 4:30 PM, and I again haven't heard anything, so I again decided to call them. She told me that the car is done and ready for pick up. What happened to "I will call you when the car is done"? What if I decided not to call? Please, to the owner of this business, tell that female to keep her promise to the customers and keep them posted, if she promised to do so.
