I will NEVER be stepping foot inside Bill's again. My family were visiting from abroad and we brought them in with my two 3 years old children this evening. We got in and waited for a table without issue, got to our table and ordered at 6.11pm (the time the server told me). At 6.40pm I inquired about the whereabouts of our food... Oh, it's going to be another 5-10 minutes as pizza takes 30-35 minutes... we were 30 minutes after ordering at this point. At 6.50 I noticed that people that had arrived AFTER us that were behind us and sitting in front of us had both received their pizzas... where was the 30-35 minutes for them??! I went to the server station to ask anyone why other tables had their food and the server, (older lady with dark hair pulled back) wouldn't even look at me and was rather rude. She just mumbled about what people order (we ordered pizza as well, the same as the other tables), and then just walked away.... nice staff manners there! I then found our server and asked, they were only just putting the food in for my children. At this point I have 2 upset small children that do not understand why they can not eat.. How do I explain that to them when they see others getting their food before us?! Please explain that to me, as that life lesson would be a great help! It got to 7pm, at this point I had given up the will to live and we cancelled our order. I wanted to pay for our drinks and the server said they would get the manager... The manager obviously couldn't be bothered to come out and the server said that our drinks were comped... not sure whether I was meant to say thank you for that or not, but with the manners I was brought up with I did, even though I was seething. The final family meal for my parents that are returning home tomorrow was completely ruined by your company. I am extremely upset and will be spreading this by word of mouth as far as I can to highlight the obvious inefficiencies that you have in your restaurant. read more

We went yesterday on a Saturday afternoon and the pizza was great. Our server, Kristine, was the problem. She acted as though we were bothering her which was quite a disappointment. She really wasn't proactive or concerned about out needs. It's too bad, because we actually like the pizza and environment. read more

We frequent bills once every two weeks if not more. We are huge fans of the thin crust pizza which never disappoints. My son loves to go straight to the small arcade when he walks in. The restaurant offers a homey, but expansive cabin feel. There's never a wait, but the restaurant is always filled with loyal customers. They offer a rewards membership as well. The service is great and they always have drink specials. The food takes quite a bit of time but we don't mind because it always comes out perfect. Very affordable dinner for my small family. After moving to this neck of the woods a little over a year ago with little knowledge on restaurants, it's great to have a place that feels like home and never disappoints. read more

First time here last night. Really friendly staff and bartenders, but my goodness this place is overpriced for what you get. The largest pizza you can get is a 14" which will run you $30. Very disappointed in last visit. We have been enjoying Bill's Pub in Mundelein as well as the Grayslake site for years. We've purchased gift cards for many of our friends and relatives and have taken out of town guest there to enjoy the pizza. At our last visit there, with friends, we asked for a refill on the noticeably smaller basket of peanuts. The waitress told us she'd be happy to bring another one, but there would be a $4 charge. Wait.....What????? How petty and cheap to start charging such a ridiculous amount for peanuts. We will no longer be going or recommending this restaurant. Too bad that the management thought this was a way to save money. Lost our business for good! read more

The food is good- and atmosphere is fun. I found it to be very kid friendly and the staff has been great every time we go! The only downside was the all the stuffed animals scared my daughter the first time we went but after that she was fine. Would recommend coming with a group of people read more

As I've said in other reviews, ambience isn't that important to me. Yes, it's brighter airier and cleaner than the original. Yes there are peanut shells on the floor. Yes they make an incredible double decker pizza, though, and that's the reason to go to Bill's. read more

As 2-Stars says, "Meh, I've experianced better". Broasted chicken was good, but I am going to guess they just buy that process from someone and not there own receipe or cooking method. Pizza is decent, but the remainder of the food was just your basic frozen everything and cooks that can't even cook it. It seemed like the server had better things to do other than help us. I am surprised it is still open and not the same Bill's that I used to go to in Mundelein. Nice building, but there is nothing that really make this place a destination restaurant because the food is just the same frozen stuff everyone else has from the food service truck. They have gotten lazy and forgot that you have to have good food other than pizza to get people in, not just a big fancy expensive building. read more

Worst broasted chicken I've ever had. Inedible. Dry, old greasy nasty taste. Ate one and threw out the rest. Cole slaw tasted like bulk bought as were the "rolls" tiny dry dinner rolls. Both got thrown out. They state you will get a half pound of Cole slaw which is deceiving as it is three small single serve like what single salad dressings come in. Save your money on this one. $26 with driver tip wasted money. I won't eat from there again and I'm surprised they pass inspections using nasty old grease! Almost forgot, 1 1/2 hours for delivery I'm six blocks away. read more

Bill's Pizza has been living off a fading reputation for some time. Pizza at either location is simply not as good as it once was. It's pretty much mid-pack these days. If you are going to try it, go to the restaurant and eat it there while it would be hot from the oven. One of real problems with delivered pizza is it takes so long to get to you, it gets pretty funky in the box, if not downright cold. The last time I ordered on a very non-busy Tuesday night, it took more than 90 minutes for the pizza to arrive, and I had to refuse it because it was cold. Pizza is good but waited 1 1/2 hours for it. The service is really the killer in this place. Simply is one of the worst. I thought it at first might be a bad night so we went back because we liked the pizza but was horrible second time as well. On top of that they don't change oil on their fryers and you could tell they cooked everything in same fryer because you could taste everything else. This place I think gives all their attention on the bar and not tables so sit there if you don't have kids. read more

So here's the review called 1 week ago to make reservations for dinner after graduation when we got there we are told they don't take reservations they don't know why we would be told that they do ,the host was one of the rudest people I have ever met the management should be ashamed to put someone like that out to greet people but anyway we were told that there was nothing they could do if we wanted to we could wait for what could be an hour. Because of this type of attitude from the staff I wouldn't ever recommend this place to anyone read more

There is a reason why this place has dropped to 3 stars! It's because they have ripped off so many people that they are getting what they deserve, an honest rating! Any place that offers groupons as often as they do is obviously a business hoping to stay alive by offering discounts. Don't bother. You'll just waste half your money. I'm not sure if this is a review or just expressing my dissatisfaction. I am a 30 year patron of Bills from the Diamond Lake location to start. I don't even live here anymore but I come in once a year and the first place we go is Bills. My family frequents 2 to 3 times a month. Awesome pizza. But here's the issue. The peanuts. They used to be free. Now they're not. We had ten people. Apparently that qualifies for only 2 baskets. Then 5 bucks for each one after. Guys....take care of your patrons. Our tab is always 180 or more. Taking that away just leaves a sour taste and there is a pizza place around every corner here. These nuts are a buck a bag in the grocery store. Charge a buck or two for refills, thats reasonable. Let me know when you reconsider. We'll come back. read more

The good: Food is great for the $ and they support local brewery, Tighthead. The bad: Seemed understaffed for 11:30 on a Sunday, pop was flat, waitress seemed annoyed to have to deal with our table. I just dined at Bill's Pub North, in Grayslake, IL. Split an order of Fried Ravioli with a side of Marina. Yum!! Then the main course, a 14" mushroom pizza, outstanding!! Fun pub environment and Sara, our server was fantastic. A big scoop of ice cream for dessert, probably the best ice cream in Lake County, IL. I disagree with the cranky reviews of Bill's Pizza. I like this place! The atmosphere is really comfortable and cozy, like a log cabin. The pizza has a crispy, thin crust and fresh toppings. I've never reviewed anything and I made a Yelp just so I could review this place. My family and I went the other night, a Sunday night. There was a birthday party going on but other than that not too busy. So, we order and it took about an hour to get our pizza. We were even about to leave when it came. Having grown up in the pizza capital of the Midwest, and then living on the East Coast where every pizza is superb, I never gave much thought to where to get 'good' pizza. That is... until we moved to Illinois. Enter: Bill's Pizza & Pub North. This is our go-to place for delicious pizza and has definitely become our favorite local pizza. Granted, what they say about the ambiance is true... a 'backwoods' lodge, with log cabin interior and stuffed/preserved animals perched/mounted on every available surface... it's part of the charm. Usually loud and bustling with kids & large parties, it's a good time. Upon being seated, you are given a basket of peanuts and encouraged to throw the shells on the floor. (There are treads on the floors to keep you from slipping.) The menu is standard with the usual fried appetizers, salads, sandwiches & PIZZA! Bill's is famous for their Double Decker pizza, which contrary to the tendency to create and serve a deep dish pizza in Chicagoland, is light and crisp - a thin crust bottom is filled with cheese and toppings, then covered with another thin dough sheet, and covered again with cheese and toppings. I wasn't sure when we first ordered it, but we have been devotees ever since... definitely work a try! Over many visits, with a range of family/friends, we've slowly sampled everything on the menu... even the lone dessert cookie & ice cream sandwich. Some of our favorites are: Bacon Cheddar Fries, Fried Mushrooms, Bill's Special Double Decker Pizza, the Hawaiian Pizza & the Taco/Mexican Pizza. On Fridays my husband always gets a cup of the Clam Chowder, and loves it. I've tried it as well, and we both agree that this is the best in the area (yes... even superior to that which is served by that famous local fish/seafood restaurant).
