First time visitors. Ordered pizza and it was excellent! Very picky about my pizza and Bill's hit it out of the park with their thin crust! We have a student athlete at CLC and have looked for a spot to hit before/after games- looking no more! Very cool atmosphere and nice staff. Have been getting takeout from Bills North for 4 years. It's always been inconsistent but OK. Inconsistent in the way things are cooked and special orders, like no set up request on a burger are ignored. Still convenient and easy to pick up food. Tonight was the worse. My wife's order was wrong and my burger was undercooked and had onions, lettuce and pickles on it--when we clearly stated no set up. It's apparent that no one checks takeout orders. Also, they have changed their takeout packaging. They have gone to KFC style boxes. The portions are smaller but the prices are the same. No napkins, no condiments etc...and, staples every where that can easily drop into food! Looks like cost savings outweighs quality and long time customer satisfaction. Unfortunate. Update: Thought we would give them another try on take out. Ordered on line with specific instructions. Again, we were let down. My burger had a set up on it, which we didn't want. There is new packaging. However, they now simply wrap food in paper and throw it in a bag. This results in a greasy bag filled with food. Wife had a fish sandwich. The cheese was burned. This is the second year we had our sons birthday dinner there. I have to say it was much better than last year. Art who was our server was helpful friendly and attentive. We have preorder the menu so things came out relatively on time. One of the nice features is the fact that they have separate room on the side for larger parties. It makes it much more easier for everyone to be able to visit with each other. My only complaint is The place still had peoples dirty napkins and the tables we had requested at front weren't there so we had to get people come in and pick up all the napkins that were on the floor and bringing a table. The other issue When we book the lady had recommended a half a salad for the number of people we had it was too big just order two small ones we had about 20 people nobody wanted all that salad. The best pub pizza around, everything else is settling for less. Why can't everyone else do pizza like this? It doesn't seem all that complicated but others just don't compare. Let me start by saying that the pizza is very good and I highly recommend getting the double Decker pizza. We go to Bill's Pizza with my in-laws. The thing that stops me from giving this 4 stars is due to the time we have to wait for a seat. They are not set up for parties large than 4 people. When we go there, we have 6 people (4 adults and 2 kids). We have waited close to an hour and a half to get seated on a Saturday night. I kind of prefer the one in Mundelein. I might not be as pretty as the new one, but the waits never seemed long and I think that the run down atmosphere gives the place character. read more

I finally went in. it is a great looking place inside & out.. kind of North Woodsey.. i had the small individual psausage pizza and enjoyed it.. Crispy, thin, sweeter ref sauce and sausage.. A Bill's special has been our favorite pizza for 30 years. We typically get one or two carry out every month. However, the current price has pushed us to explore less expensive options. So far we've found a few alternatives that provide much better value. We'll probably still get a Bill's special on occasion but it's no longer our go to pizza. read more

Ok maybe just 4 1/2 stars. The extra 1/2 star is for the nostalgia factor. The original Bill's Pub in Mundelein is Mundelein's claim to fame. Everybody in Mundelein has all kinds of fond Bill's pub memories. The one in Grayslake is just as good, food wise. But the nostalgia factor kicks up for me at the Mundelein location. Pizza in Grayslake is yummy. My boyfriend thinks the pizza is better than Quonset Hut! My sister had the deep fried mushrooms. She loves them. I thought they were pretty tasty too, but too much guilt for me with all that batter. I hear other menu items are good. But, I wouldn't know. It is always pizza for me when I am at Bill's. read more

Well, the short comment is don't get the fish. It's frozen and was sent back 3 times and still it sucked. I should have figured it out after the first attempt at getting it right. No way on the fish. Now the pizza on the other hand is pretty good. I certainly wouldn't give it a 4 star rating but it's ok if you don't know a real pizza joint in the area. Now get this.....Time to pay.....I complained about the fish. The waitress said there was nothing she could do. I don't expect to get a free meal anywhere but this fish really sucked. The manager finally asked what he should do? And..... He passed that question along through the waitress. Never came to the table. I said take the fish off the tab. I used to love going to this place growing up. The last few times that I have gone have been nothing but disappointing. I went recently with my family which consisted 5 of us. They put us in a booth that could only sit 4 people. The server did bring us a chair for the end of the table which was in the way of the aisle so people were constantly bumping into us. We sat for nearly 30 minutes before our server came by. This was on a Friday and I understand how busy that place can get but we spent the majority of our time waiting on our server to come by so we could order. Food was mediocre at best and very overpriced. I was able to stop in this week as I was craving some pizza. I did order for carry out. I ordered online which was super easy. I ordered a 12 inch pizza and a Caesar salad. I ordered a couple of sides of ranch as well. I spent just over $30. As I get home I noticed that I did not receive the extra ranch that I ordered. This wasn't a huge deal as I should have checked before leaving. What bothered me was that the salad consisted of mostly slimy, brown pieces of lettuce and there was a hair in the pizza. I tried calling to speak to someone about this but was hung up on. I wish I would have spent my money elsewhere. I will not be returning again. read more

I ordered through the app (Slice), got the 'it's ready', went to pick it up and was told it would be another 5 to 10 minutes, apparently the app was having issues. I can live with that. Go to Bill's for pizza, bam! They get it right, every time. Ambiance is woodsy, which is relaxing--makes you feel like you're getting some Wisconsin North Woods time in, which is a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of living in a metro area. And, you can never go wrong with peanuts on your table, with shells you can toss on the floor. But...the other night I was feeling salad-ish for some reason, decided to order the Asian Salad. Bill, Bill, Bill...this was probably the FURTHEST thing from an Asian salad I've ever had. It was a LOT of generic iceberg lettuce, with a few canned mandarin orange slices (I think there were about six), some tiny, sad pieces of canned pineapple, and a few renegade Craisins. (Do Asians even know what Craisins are?) Liberally sprinkled with black sesame seeds, for y'know--the Asian touch. Nary a water chestnut, bean sprout, pea pod, bamboo shoot, etc. in sight. C'mon, guys--I know pizza is your thing--and you do it very well--but if something is on the menu, at least make an effort. The internet abounds with great Asian salad recipes, so if nothing else, just hijack one of those. Lose the ton of iceberg lettuce and the canned fruit, and get some REAL Asian veggies in there. This review includes a 5 star rating for the "Slice" app... These guys got most of my order correct with one exception. My Double Decker Pizza. I ordered a Meat Lovers and added Canadian bacon, mushrooms, and onions. Well they got the Canadian bacon, mushrooms & onions on there. Only problem was they forgot all of the Meat Lovers toppings LOL. The discrepancy of price between the pizza I ordered and the pizza I received was about $12. Not a huge amount of money but it's the principle. I addressed my grievance with "Slice". And within 5 mins Slice was on the phone with Bill's, Bill's was on the phone with me, and I was offered my choice of a new pizza made and delivered or $35 gift card mailed to my address. Now that's service! I gotta take my hat off to these guys. They rectified the problem immediately and without hesitation. And in addition, Slice credited my account $5 for the inconvenience. It has happened many times were they have screwed up my order by giving less or missing something. They are very nice if you call back and complain but it happens way too many times. My husband and I came to have dinner tonight and first of all let me state that my pizza was great so I give it 5 stars. The service on the other hand wasn't awful when our waiter came to our table, but the entire time we sat and waited for the pizza, he, the hostess, and another kid which we couldn't tell if he worked there or not, ate food from a table while running back and forth serving others. For one hour we watched them swing by this table shove food into their mouths, stand around at this table, and then stop at customers tables. No one washed their hands. The hostess was chewing while taking people to their seats. They walked around that side of room holding pizza and chewing. They also had forks and took bites off of something at the table. It was gross to watch. Other waitresses were running around busting their butts. I am pretty sure the younger kid that I couldn't tell if he worked their or not was folding napkins/silverware when he was done eating. Our waiter at one point took the kids water bottle and filled it up with drink from behind bar, then brought my husband his beer. Bad look Bill's Pub. Are the staff allowed to eat and hold pizza while walking and taking care of customers? Hopefully I can get my husband to go back someday but probably not. read more

I have gotten food from Bills Pub North for a number of years. I wasn't too crazy about some of their food, but always felt they had one of the best pizzas in the area. We always ordered the thin crust pizza, partly because of the crust itself which was crisp and flavorful. Just got pizza and a salad from Bills Pub North yesterday, and was completely disappointed. For starters, the online pricing of the thin crust vegetarian pizza is $18.50, (no indication what size pizza that is). When I picked up the food the cost was $27.50 for the pizza. When I questioned the young lady at the counter about the price, she pointed to the menu board on the wall indicating that the price was $27.50 and said the $18.50 was before any toppings. The online price indicates the vegetarian pizza, including the toppings. I asked for a carry out menu to confirm the price, and strangely enough they were out of carry out menus. As far as the food, we got the quinoa salad which is advertised as romaine lettuce. The lettuce was chopped up iceberg lettuce. Now for the pizza. The crust was not thin crust and was different from the crust they used to serve. It seemed more like a pre-fab crust like you buy at the grocery store. More like a biscuit than pizza crust. The pizza itself was bland and not enjoyable. Needless to say I will not be getting my food from Bills Pub anymore, and question their honesty by falsely advertising the price. I don't mind paying for good food, but $27.50 for a small pizza with only a few toppings is outrageous. read more

Way over priced on everything. Their Large pizza is only a 14" but it tasted Ok. Too much busy busy action with people walking around and the place looks like it's unclean due to everyone eating the lozzy peanuts and throwing the shells on the floor.
