This place has the best pizza and fried zucchini! The wings are amazing as well. I eat here once a week, grab a to go pizza or eat here with the family. So I went to high school in Mundelein in the 70's and Bill's pub had a great reputation back then. For some reason or another I never went there. Nine months ago I moved back into the area and when I saw there was a "Bill's Pub North" I decided it was time to give it a try, it's only 5 miles from my home. We went on a Friday night and the parking lot was FULL. It didn't look like they could possibly have room for another person and we almost didn't go in. I'm glad we did. The place is HUGE inside and we only had a 5 minute wait at an empty bar sipping a beer before we were seated. Our waitress JoJo was great and even though she was extremely busy she always checked and got us whatever we needed. We decided on a Mexican pizza and it was excellent. We had a thin crust and it was perfectly cooked. The only thing I would tell you is that when it's full it is a little loud. So if you're sensitive to the noise, bring the ear plugs so you don't miss some great food. read more

I will absolutely never order from here again. 3 times in a row our delivery order has been wrong. This time was the last straw. 2 hours later they still have not returned with the remainder of my order. I called and spoke with Jay who stated he was sorry for the repeated error, but would not reimburse me for my meal. Given it has been 2+ hours, and 2 phone calls, I don't think this is an unreasonable request. He did offer me a gift card for 50% of the total, but seeing as how they have lost a customer, and gift card is useless. read more

We are in from out of town and found out Lou's around here are only carry out . It was after 8 and we just wanted food . They had a great beer special (blue moon for 3.50) We ordered some apps (fried pickles and mozzarella sticks ). The pickles were fine but the mozzarella sticks were definitely overcooked (I had an empty one !) I asked the waitress to help me choose between buffalo chicken and burger. She told me chicken . The chicken was a flat patty , definitely not a hand breaded like I expected, more like a frozen chicken patty) and the sauce was just spread on . Just hot, not tasty at all. The other food was fine according to my friends . I did mention my disappointment and the waitress took $5 off my bill. The waitress was fabulous even while super busy. The cheese was oily, greasy... more like melted chez wiz, only worse. If you go on your website, your menu has no prices, now I know why. I understand increased prices, but definitely not for inferior ingredients. There are plenty of just "ho hum" pizza joints around the area and a whole lot cheaper. Bill's used to be a notch above all the rest...what changed?? New owners? Been going to the Grayslake Bills since it opened and have always enjoyed it, till now. Not my favorite pizza, but not bad... just not my favorite. Decent beer selection both on tap and bottled.... something for everyone. The appetizer platters for groups are plentiful - the fried zucchini is great, I like that they cut the zucchini in chip shapes instead of spears, doesn't get as soggy. My review follows the same vein as most of the others. Food is good, especially the pizza, but service is terrible. We came in with a group of 8 tonight, of which 5 ordered food. Those of us who ordered appetizers or salads were finished with our food while those who ordered pizza were still waiting for it. Turns out because it was "late" (9:30), they had already turned the pizza oven off and had to restart it. They didn't tell us until after 10:00 when we started asking where the pizzas were. "They're almost done." The server should have let us know there would be a delay so that alternate choices could have been if desired. Instead, we were left waiting and wondering so long that the pizza folks ended up taking their food to go. When we complained, the server had to "ask his manager". The manager gave a measly 10% off those items. Ridiculous. Should have comped them or given at least half off. And, to add insult to injury, they bought us the bill before the pizzas were actually brought to the table. More important to clear that register than serve your customers, isn't it? Since the bad reviews are all about service, why doesn't management address the problem? read more

For some time I regarded this place as a slightly better version of Emil's (a place that's gone downhill), but it's becoming clear Bill's is undergoing the same long, slow decline. I was in a few days ago before the lunch rush, and for a while I was the only person in the joint except for two women playing those stupid electric slot machines. Nevertheless, the help (as always, these days) was extremely slow. It took ten minutes to get anyone's attention, and even after that there was the usual standing around, staring at the wall, and meandering personal conversation. Very little motivation or professionalism. After a wait time far too long for a mediocre fish sandwich, my order came out sans silverware. The bartender looked around for a few seconds and actually said "Do you want silverware?" No, Copernicus, never mind; I'll just stick my face in the plate. When I moved to Grayslake back in the tenth century, Bill's was a fairly decent place, and friends tell me they like the pizza. The food I've gotten hasn't been very good recently, and the experience is an overall letdown. It reminds me of the final days of the Last Chance. Won't be back, at least not soon. read more

Bill's has good pizza, sandwiches, end other handheld foods. Sadly, they are extremely laxed on Covid protection. MANY servers, bartender, and perhaps the manager have their masks around their chins. Needless to say, Ashley and I went there on Saturday night. Needless to say, there were no leftovers. We ordered the Bill's Special, which was a thin crust sausage, green pepper, onion, and mushroom colon nightmare...I mean pizza. It was cooked perfectly, as Bill's always does. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching people grin from ear to ear when the servers brought them their pizzas. Was a big fan of Bill's since the early '70s, but sadly the quality of their pizza has been declining for a decade now. They've always tended to (slightly) over cook their pizza, leaving it a bit dry, IMO. But, we usually request them to take it out a minute or two early with mixed results. I had a groupon and used it tonight. Our party included 6ppl. When we first came in, we were told the wait was 45min...so we waited patiently. After an hour and only after seeing several people seated that came before and after us one can't help but wonder. ..I went up to the hostess and enquired about our place in line. We were told there were three groups prior to us. So I made my own conclusion and that is that the hostess and or.management does not know how to seat and or make room for larger groups. The easiest way is to sit the smaller groups first regardless of the order in which they came in, however that is not the right nor is it fair. Unfortunately that's exactly what was done to us and had I not said anything who knows how long it would have been otherwise. For this reason this place gets a low raating. After the wait its hard for one to make it an enjoyable dinner. 2hrs to have waited for lack or organization/coordination is ridiculous! Our party was not that big to have presented such a problem to seat. I hope the restaurant owner/Mgr sees my review and makes positive changes to seating meathods used as I feel current requires much improvement. From a service standpoint - the hostess was very, "this isn't where I want to be right now...but fine, here's your table." Our waitress was great. Once we told her that we had never been before - she became incredibly friendly and informative. Torn on which brew to get - she brought samples of both without question and that helped. For the pizza - we went with the double decker. My stomach was incredibly pleased. My waist line grew with delight. The best part of the double decker is the rolled crust. Mmm...crust. We ordered our 3 year old his own pizza. Once it arrived - we realized the 3 of us could've shared it, it was that big. It's a good place for kids due to the size, space between tables...you can toss peanut shells on the floor and there's a mini arcade. I'll have to respectfully disagree on the quality of the pizza; we found it to be decidedly ordinary. I ordered the steak sandwich, and the steak was thin, tough, and remarkably tasteless. The accompanying onion rings had obviously been frozen, most likely from Sysco or some other commercial provider. Rated low primarily due to the quality of the food. As for the rest of our visit: * There appear to be no separate sections for smoking and non-smoking; this will be moot after January, 2008, though. * Although it was a quiet Saturday afternoon when we arrived, towards the end of our meal a Little League team and another group of young children arrived. This made the dining room extremely noisy, which wasn't really what we were looking for at the time. * The service was impeccable, and our waitress was friendly and personable. Great pizza, awful service. 30 min after ordering our waiter says it will be right out. 10 min after that he rushes past to say there was an issue and the manager will be right out. After 5 min we flagged another waitress who was kind enough to check on our order. Apparently they had given our pizza to the wrong table and never bothered to put our order back in. Our waiter clearly couldn't have cared less. Hope he continued not caring once he eventually discovered we walked out. From now on, I'll drive the extra 15 min to go the original in Mundelein. Apparently this is a common problem at the North location because the manager (woman with dark hair and darker attitude) insists on bringing out the pizzas and often screws up this very simple task. She also has a habit of ignoring upset customers and refusing to own up to her mistakes. read more

Definitely some of the best pizza in the area. Delicious margherita pizza and other specialty pizzas. I wouldn't recommend the broasted chicken and broasted potatoes. Very bland and small potion for the price. I wish for the price of most the food here the potion sizes would be bigger, even for the pizzas. The restaurant itself is very cool. Cabin like feel and free peanuts at every table and you can toss the shells onto the floor. The kids love it! Staff is always friendly here and very attentive. This is the second time I ordered sandwiches and after waiting the 20 minutes I went in to pick up my order. They took my money and then started on my order. I waited another 15 minutes. The Italian beef is good, the onion rings hot and tasty, the fries were cold. I asked for the sandwiches to be dipped or juicy, they were dry. I am rating this place a "0" star and not for the service or food I received but instead this is about the sad situation my special needs daughter and her special needs group went through at this restaurant. My daughter is not able to write this review so we worked with her chaperone to provide this information. It is a special time of year with the holidays and for the most part happiness and good cheer is being celebrated by most but NOT at Bill's Pub (Grayslake). Yesterday a group of 9 special needs adults and their chaperones went to Bill's Pub for lunch to practice their socialization and life skills and to enjoy each other's company as they do every day of the week. My daughter was amoung those 9 innocent special needs adults and chaperones that were not treated with the dignity they deserved. Within 2 minutes of walking in the door of the empty Bill's Pub restaurant they were greeted by a rude hostess. The group was told that they should have called ahead for a group that large. Really? 9 special needs adults walking in to an Empty restaurant and you need to call ahead? Sure, it was obvious they all had special needs but deep inside you know it was more about who they wanted to serve than the number. The server or the hostess had to push two tables together so they could be seated and grumbled about doing it. When the waitress finished she asked "Does everyone have to have a menu"? The chaperone said yes they all have their own money and will be paying for it themselves. Immediately the waitress was disgusted at the need to give menus to every special need adult and have separate bills. The chaperone replied, "You know what, we are leaving. We don't deserve to be treated this way". The waitress said "I said I would do it". The group left Bill's Pub because they were clearly being made to feel unwelcome. The attitude of the waitress and the hostess towards this group of happy and innocent special needs adults was unacceptable. This group is part of a much larger group that is sponsored by the Round Lake area Park District. What a great program to help families and these special adults thrive and live a fulfilling life. When an establishment such as Bill's Pub can treat such an innocent group of people in a way that makes them feel unwelcome because of their disabilities you have to wonder why they are in business anyway. What a shameful and sad thing to do to individuals that demonstrate unconditional love under any circumstance and expect nothing in return. We can all learn from the lessons these unique and special adults teach us. Everyone one deserves dignity and respect regardless of their race, religion or handicap. I hope that others think twice about going to Bill's Pub. The special needs group did leave Bill's Pub and went to Lunch at Mrs. Vs in Round Lake Beach. The group was treated with enormous respect, dignity and love like anyone should be. At Mrs Vs they were like everyone else. Way to go Mrs. Vs!!!! Also, a big thanks to the chaperones and these special adults for taking such a negative and unwelcoming situation and rising above it with grace and dignity. read more

Great thin crust pizza, but the rest of Bill's offerings are the usual offering of sandwiches and burgers you can find at any other restaurant. Peanut lovers can rejoice in the complimentary bowl of nuts given to every table. I recommend the Hawaiian or Bill's Special pizza. I order one of these two nearly every time I dine in or carry out and have always received an excellent product. I've been to the North location a few times and have usually had a good experience with the service and staff, the only exception being on my last visit when the hostess was too occupied chatting with her friends to notice my group had entered the restaurant.
