    Greek lemon soup, yum

Unless you've tried it, it might sound a little funny to say must try the lemon soup. It is their thing and it is wonderful, unless you're not a lemon person. I've brought many people here and everyone, with exception of one person, has loved the soup. Like that they have indoor and outdoor seating. Since it was a gorgeous day, we took advantage of the outdoor seating. Service has always been friendly, and my salad was fresh and tasty.

Bill the World Bill's is probably the most renowned name in the South Bay breakfast game, as they've been slinging hash and eggs for nearly fifty years (circa 1977) and have expanded to ten locations throughout the Bay, with most of them being here in San Jose. This location is only a few miles from our place, and surprisingly this was our first time visiting, despite having lived in this part of town for almost five years. The Good: * Private parking lot as well as street parking available * Dog-friendly outdoor dining * They have some kind of Waitlist QR code you can scan when you walk in, but we didn't need it so I can't comment on it beyond its existence. * The food at Bill's is always solid, but nothing life-changing. I've always been a fan of their "Benedictions" and, if you're into a sweet breakfast, their Bread Pudding French Toast is pretty legendary. * For those looking for healthier options, you can get a side of fruit instead of taters, and they don't just give you grapes and melons, but you'll get some tasty strawberries and pineapple mixed in. Also, their egg white Veggie Skillet was surprisingly delicious for being so healthy-ish. The Meh: * Service was OK for the most part, but we did have to ask for water and coffee refills, which shouldn't really happen. The Ugly: * We visited on a random weekday and it was pretty popping, so I can imagine weekends are even busier. So be prepared for a wait unless you come early. Conclusion: Classic South Bay breakfast chain that always delivers a good meal at a reasonable price.

Very popular Bill's location. Be ready to wait for at least 15-30 minutes if you go on a weekend. Also, very full parking lot. Service was excellent and food is quality. They were very accommodating with our dog.

I come here every weekend to get pancakes, eggs and bacon. The service is amazing and the pancakes are the best I've ever had in my life! Wish I got there secret recipe! Defiantly coming here 10000 more times!

I can't believe I haven't written a review before now. Bill's Café has been a family favorite for breakfast for years. Everything I've ever ordered has been consistently fresh and delicious, and the service is always friendly and efficient. I usually try to go during off-peak times -- early morning or early afternoon before closing -- because weekends and peak hours can come with a pretty long wait. That said, it's popular for a reason. One of my favorite things is that they offer half portions on some of their classic dishes, like Eggs Benedict. I can never finish a full order, so being able to get a half portion and then add a pancake for something sweet is perfect. They also have a full bar with a great selection of breakfast cocktails. My personal favorite is their michelada. I honestly have no complaints. While it's technically a chain, it still feels like a charming neighborhood spot -- reliable, welcoming, and always a great choice for breakfast

I love me some Bill's Cafe and it's my go-to spot when visiting the Bay Area! I've had their benedicts here but I usually always go with their Country Fried Steak. The portion is so big you need two plates with all the other sides like bread and eggs. It basically needs a plate of its own. The steak is perfectly crispy and hits the spot everytime. A menu item that I've tried recently was their Bread Pudding French Toast. I took one bite and I was in love. My mom always gets this and I've always wondered why. NOW I KNOW! It's perfectly sweet and the texture of it is soft. Check Bills out and bring your family, it never disappoints with mine.

The pancakes with the combo option, choosing eggs over easy and ham
    Ron B.

The food was excellent, had the three pancakes combo which I had optioned with the two eggs and ham. The eggs were cooked perfectly to order and the ham was a large piece and everything tasted great. Service was good, there were some brief outages, but in general, they were always there to fill your coffee. Ambience is as you would expect from a diner, comfortable seating great place to have discussions or get together's. Wouldn't he hesitate about coming back, I would have generally the same review for holders Country Inn in Almaden as well.

Hands down, my favorite local breakfast spot!! The service was so so fast! I got a table in a matter of minutes even though I was visiting on a Sunday morning. Also, within 5 min of being seated, I was already met with a server asking for drinks. The food was also pretty good. I got the crispy chicken sandwich and the country fried steak. I preferred the country fried steak, it was cooked well with a flavorful gravy. However, I felt that the crispy chicken sandwich was a bit bland, so I would pass on it next time. Overall, I would definitely keep coming back!

Nice place to bond and have some super breakfast. I like the environment and I'm comfortable with customer service.

Consistently excellent breakfast food and service. My server Rafael was able to put in my order with half bacon half sausage links, and was always prompt with the coffee refills.

The kitchen is open and you can appreciate the chefs working on their open wood fired grills and pizza ovens, which imparts a faint, woody, aromatic fragrance in the restaurant. The staff is polite and courteous. They left a signed note on the table for my husband's birthday which was a sweet gesture. For the drinks, we started with the jean claude pandan, pandan being the my husband's current favorite ingredient in food and drinks. I had the drink with dill, which the server warned me about being centered around the flavor of pickles (which I am personally fond of). The pandan drink was a light and refreshing highball and I found the dill cocktail to be creamy and delicious, but didn't really leave me with a sour aftertaste. For food, we went with the drip trio platter which came with fresh pita bread pieces, and the drip trio of hummus with roe on top, chilled tzatziki, and muhammara. Then we moved on to the oysters which were fresh, will a dressing of an herb oil of some sort. They also had a complementary palette cleanser in between which was a shot of watermelon and orange juice. For maincourse, my husband went for the tagliatelle and I chose the ravioli, both choices were corroborated by our server to be the right ones to go for. The tagliatelle is expensive because of the lobster and caviar that it comes with. However, the pasta is delicious and comes in a decadent sauce. Not a lot of lobster pieces though. The ravioli had a robust mushroom flavor and came with a light sauce of mushrooms, crispy fried shallots, and pine nuts. We skipped dessert because we were pretty full already. Would definitely recommend this place for a cozy dinner out but it's quite expensive so might not be a place to go to frequently.

When walking, we missed the restaurant initially because this place is clearly, a hidden gem, especially being hidden along the nightclub strip. We were blown away by the curated vibes. From the thoughtful decor to The Office being projected on the wall. It felt hip, fresh and refined. We decided to craft our own drinks - Arnold Palmers, his favorite. But they only had sparkling lemonade, which actually made it even better. We shared a salad that had some cooked pears and squash alongside the greens, walnuts, cranberries and blue cheese. I do feel like the cooked sweet elements overpowered the salad with their sweetness and textures a bit. Wondering if a refreshing pear for crunch or more dressing could have brightened it up and provided a salty, sweet balance. I ordered the Short Ribs with a parsnip purée and roasted carrots and it did not disappoint. Everything paired beautifully together, perfectly salted and cooked. I finished the entire plate. Dad got the Pork Chop and while it was overcooked, he loved the flavors happening in the dish and was pleasantly surprised by the refreshing treatment of the kale. Not to mention you can take a very pleasant walk along Willow street and check out the shops after a great meal. The menu really lends to sharing plates so you can really get your foody on. We had the beignets to start. Made with ricotta and lemon curd for dipping. The beignets were very moist and a little dense because of the ricotta. The sugar coating was light and the crust was perfectly crunchy. What really made the beignets sing was the lemon curd dipping sauce just added a deep layering of flavor. Then there was the Heirloom Tomato salad with artichoke hearts. It was a tasty bite. The fry on the artichoke hearts was light bringing out the artichoke flavor. The treatment of the heirloom was clean simple and the whole dish together was just wonderful. Finally we had the Chicago Roast beef sandwich. It was huge and made me glad that we were splitting the dishes. The sandwich really reminded me of the east coast because of the peppers and carrots medley that was on the sandwich, which packed a fantastic little kick to wake up the pallet. Their Au Jus dipping sauce brought the hold combination together. Per my Hubby, who is a real Roast Beef lover, the whole sandwich was next level.
