Swedish Crepes (Burnt to a crisp...)
    James M.

From top to bottom it was a disappointing experience dining at the Country Inn Cafe. The service was incredibly slow, turning what should have been a relatively quick meal of simple dishes into an hour-a-half-saga. When the food did finally arrive my order of Swedish Crepes was burnt to an crisp, with parts of the crepe literally cracking like a chip when I tried to move it. I can't remember the last time I had to send food back to the kitchen to be remade but I'm sure I won't soon forget this experience. To make matters worse, they treat the lingonberry butter like a scarce natural resource, only providing you with two tiny plastic cups worth to go with four crepes, a frankly unacceptable ratio. While the crepes were overcooked, the hashbrowns that were ordered by others at my table were significantly undercooked, ever-so-lightly browned on the outside and barely even warm anywhere past the surface. Even the food that was cooked adequately was underwhelming to say the least. The scrambles and omelettes looked less like restaurant-quality dishes, and more like something any regular person might throw together before having to rush out the door. If the price was great I might be willing to look past the slow service and the cooking faux-pas, but at the rates they are charging I expect, and the customers certainly deserve, something much better.

Came by here for the late breakfast and it was worth it. Got the linguica and eggs, tasty. They use Silva brand so it was delicious and cooked perfectly. Hash browns and eggs were tasty too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The y have nice outside seating[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the service was friendly and fast. The prices are a tad bit high but I guess that's everywhere now...

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the traditional charm of this place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have covered outdoor seating, but I chose to eat indoor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were nice enough to not question my service dog.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My experience: + Omelette with linguica was amazing but unfortunately I only tried a couple bites of my friend's dish (5 stars) + Excellent service and a surprise bday dessert complete with a bday song! (5 stars) + Side salad that came with my meal is simple but fresh (4 stars) ~ Turkey meal special served with mashed potatoes and veggies had very nice dark meat chunks and standard gravy but stuffing wasn't good (3 stars)

I love coming to Country Inn for breakfast when I am in town. Something noteworthy and appreciated is that they don't up charge for things like Swedish pancakes or splitting the meat options 50/50. I was able to get bacon and sausage with my eggs and hash browns. I was also able to get the Swedish pancakes without any additional charge. The service is good and the food is satisfying. I grew up coming here and it always nice to pay a visit when I can. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Give it a try for breakfast some time - they have a big menu and you can sit inside or outside (dog friendly).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also have a full bar! All the boxes checked in my book.

I got the vegetarian burger and requested no cheese with a side of hash browns. Pretty limited vegan options here but they also have the mushroom burger that'd I want to try. Overall pretty good as far as black bean burgers go.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Still just as good as I remember and still has that homey feeling.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm glad this staple is still around; it's convenient and the food has remained consistent. Service was very quick and we were seated right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They expanded their seating area to outside (I'm guessing since covid).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Arriving around 10am there were a few tables taken, but as we finished up our brunch, the inside was packed and outside had a couple of tables seated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered off their weekend special menu: I got the huevos rancheros with scrambled eggs and a side of swedish crepes, while my partner ordered the tri-tip and sunny side up eggs with a well-done pancake. The orange juice hit the spot, as did the coffee. Everything was cooked really well, especially the well-done pancake had a crisp that my husband liked. The fried corn tortillas stayed crispy and I was able to get the beans, egg, and salsa all in one bite. Plenty of food, all delicious.

We've been here a few times and have always enjoyed our meals. It's a very casual place and not noisy at all every time we've been here for breakfast or lunch. You can sit at the counter and watch sports on TV, sit at a table/booth, or sit outside in their covered patio. And we've always been seated right away. I got the Chicken Apple Sausage with eggs over easy and hash browns and got it with a pancake. Very good! If you like spicy salsa, besides The Pepper Plant hot pepper sauce they provide in the bottle, ask for their housemade salsa. It's does have a spicy kick to it. The service is always great, and they frequently check in on you if you want more coffee or need anything else.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Enrique, who had such a warm and welcoming demeanor. We took a moment to look over the menu, and he quickly picked up that it was our first time. After we confirmed, he asked about our coffee preferences--strong, sweet, or somewhere in the middle--and walked us through the seasonal menu with some great suggestions. My wife ordered the iced lavender vanilla, and I went with the iced café carmelita. He also asked if we wanted food, so we tried the lemon blueberry loaf and a turkey avocado sandwich. Everything did not disappoint. The drinks were amazing--Enrique absolutely nailed the recommendations--and the turkey avocado sandwich was especially memorable. While our drinks were being made, we had some friendly small talk with the staff, which added to the experience. The overall vibe was great. The team was super friendly and attentive--when a line started forming, other staff jumped in right away to make sure no one was left waiting. I'm really glad we stopped in and gave this place a shot. We'll definitely be back!

Note: This review is written based on two visits. You stand in line outside with some shady umbrellas, the staff is kind and attentive, giving you a menu so by the time you get to the counter you are ready to place your order. It's very efficient, you place the order, get a number, find a table either inside or outside, both very beautiful settings with intentional decor. It's a place you'd want to take a date, a friend or family, it's just so fabulous. I ordered the Matcha and Fried Mortadella Egg Sandwich the first time. I kid you not, one of the best bites I've had all year. The eggs were so fresh and orange, soft and fluffy, with some melty Provolone, some Dijon mayo and stacks of Mortadella. The balance of flavors were superb. The second time we went, I wanted to order everything off the menu and almost ordered the same sandwich again but I saw that they were known for their Bacon Breakfast Burritos. AGAIN, eggs fresh, orange, and fluffy, with crispy hashbrowns and bacon, along with some avocado. It was absolutely delicious and I can see why people enjoyed it so much. The sauce pairings were spicyyy, so use as you will but it really didn't need a whole lot to add to the already flavorful burrito. Curious about what the Birria Breakfast Burrito tastes like, perhaps next time. We also ended up getting the Nutella Banana French Toast which made me want to cry out of joy. I've only ever had basic French toast so this was otherworldly. The drinks are good, but I will keep coming back for the foooood! Food took about 10-15 minutes which was so fast for a popular brunch spot but perhaps the long line is where most of the wait is depending on time of day.

WAIT & ORDER Upon arrival, there was a line outside, but the wait was less than 15 minutes. A staff member was working to ensure available tables were ready for patrons. There's a waiting couch/sofa inside as a queue before being asked to come to the counter to order and receive a table number. Everything was organized. DINE After ordering, we sat at the four-top table that was turned around. It was located in the covered patio area outside, which is really spacious compared to the limited main dining area. There are also tables at the front of the restaurant. Kudos for making good use of their space! FOOD & DRINKS They have a proper coffee bar, so I was excited to order a drink. The menu is fun, with seasonal drinks displayed. The coffee beans are fresh and tasty. They make fresh almond milk in house, which I subbed for my iced vanilla latte. - Iced Vanilla Latte with Almond Milk - Iced Matcha - Iced Vienna Latte The food we ordered was tasty and presented well: - Breakfast Burrito Birria - Breakfast Sandwich: bacon, eggs, and cheese - Protein Bowl: cottage cheese, avocado, and scrambled eggs I ordered the protein bowl, and it was delicious. There was some sort of salsa dressing over the eggs, but I wish they had provided more on the side. It was tasty, but for patrons wanting a more saucy morning, there should be an option for that. I did grab a Yellow Bird sriracha, and it was a perfect complement to the eggs. Overall, very cute and cozy space. The food is fresh and tasty. The coffee and other drinks are well prepared and delicious. A good fast-casual brunch spot to visit. I'll be back to try more items from the menu!

Ironically, the employees speak Russian among themselves. We always order in English, but the service immediately became cold and unfriendly. When I asked why the tables weren't being cleaned, I was given a sour look, as if it were my responsibility. The cakes taste old and stale. I genuinely don't understand why the owner allows her staff to treat customers this way simply because of the language they speak. Personal opinions or biases have no place in customer service.
