We're excited to eat the pad Thai (shrimp and chicken) , panang curry (chicken), the satay chicken! Some notes from the experience: This place is nice, cozy, and quiet. A little too quiet. In our hour and half that we were here, we were the only guests. I think this place may close soon. It doesn't seem like they upsell you as much as before and leave you mostly alone through your meal. In terms of the food, the satay chicken was wonderful. I think they used baking soda to tenderize this meat. It was nice and tender and we love the cucumbers. The pad Thai came with 3 shrimps which isn't bad! The amount of noodles is easily for 2-3 meals for 2 people. On the other hand, the panang curry was unremarkable. I did not enjoy the frozen carrots and green beans added. This would benefit from fresh veggies but perhaps they can't justify the cost with the slow business. I think this place is really great for a quiet date night together and would encourage people to try their satay chicken.

Note: The food I received was ordered through the Door Dash app. I was craving Tom Yum Soup with chicken and something crunchy as a side. Tom Yum Soup was a major disappointment. I met a friend here for lunch recently and it may have just been a particularly busy day for them, as it appeared there was only one person working as both the host and server. Because of that, service was a little slow and it took about 15 minutes before our water and food order were taken. We ordered the roti curry appetizer and the roti had a bit more oil than I expected, like it may not have been drained very well. We also ordered the Tom Yum prawn soup, which I thought was quite good. It had a nice flavor, a generous amount of prawns, and lots of mushrooms. The restaurant itself was clean and parking is very easy since it's located in a strip mall with plenty of spaces. I'd definitely be open to trying it again and exploring more items on the menu. Hopefully it was just a busy day for them and the service will be a little smoother on our next visit. read more

We love this place. It's a nice local family run restaurant that's been around for ages. Their curries and appetizers are especially great along with everything else. Would highly recommend some of their stirfrys as well like seafood prik khing. You usually don't have to worry about having a wait which is nice when you want to quickly grab some food to go. read more

Located in the middle of the plaza so there's plenty of parking. Came during lunch time and it we were the 2nd group there. Sat down at a table quickly and got are orders in within timely fashion. The lunch special came with some soup and some cabbage with some peanut sauce. I ordered the chicken pad thai and it was a decent portion for a single person. Good food. We really loved the curry sauce. My kid devoured her Mango Curry with Tofu $16.95. She literally ate every last drop of the mango curry sauce lol. I got the Pad Thai $14.95. We also shared the Roti $9.95. The curry definitely made the Roti appetizer, otherwise it would be bland. This was the best curry sauce I've tasted, yum. Established in 2000.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, the owner of this restaurant graduated from UC Berkeley with a strong passion and interest in the food industry. Wanting to bring the tastes of the Thai people over to the bay, opening this restaurant became a great way to share the culture and cuisine of Thailand with the community. Alongside importing their ingredients from the local farmers, Erawan Thai donates a portion of proceeds to aid small, but developing schools and children in Thailand.

When we had asked for to go containers, we also asked for extra ranch to go.. well our server said he didn't think so but my husband was upset and said " what ? You can't get any ranch, really? " He answered " let me check but I'll have to charge extra" we said it was fine and he did end up bringing some out. The food was actually great, but the service completely ruined the experience. I always tip, even when service isn't perfect but this was the first time I felt it wasn't deserved. No customer should feel rushed or uncomfortable like this, especially when they arrived within business hours. Drink orders were taken, a basket of yummy chips and 3 bowls of really HOT salsa brought to the table. I treated myself to Chile relleno, beef enchilada, and crunchy taco, $24.95. In the former location, when the plates arrived, you were warned not to touch the VERY HOT plates. This visit, my plate was just warm to the touch and the food was warm, not hot. Usually, I had to wait a few minutes before I could safely bite into my food. Service as always was genuine and friendly. You can tell, they are happy to see you and serve you. However, the service was a little slow due to the packed restaurant. It took us awhile to flag people down to bring us utensils, to-go boxes and our checks. I'm sure this will improve as they get used to larger crowds in their new environment. But the kitchen forgot my order and the owner was nice enough to upgrade my order to a super taco: served with your choice of meat, whole beans, onions, cilantro, tomato, avocado, and cheese on a homemade corn/flour tortilla. I didn't see any avocado. Oh well, it was a upgrade from what I originally ordered, so I can't complain. Support your local business.

Last and certainly not least, is the pork katsu. I cannot even remember the last time I ordered a pork katsu, but something told me to order it. Thank God I did, as it quite literally changed my life. If they ever take it off the menu I am not sure I would be OK. It is crispy and is swimming in this koji butter, but the key is that it is NOT greasy. I quite literally think about it all the time. To the point where I had it twice in a week. Maintaining a proper wine menu when all you do is natural wine can certainly be a challenge. If you wine flights depending on what you have would certainly elevate the customer experience by educating more people natural wine and helping them make better choices when it comes to a bottle purchase. I paid $61 for a bottle that was recommended, and at that price point I wonder how many people who are new to natural wine might be turned off. Chris was a wonderful host and certainly the right person to engage with customers around their various wines. Given how small the space is and how busy it can get, a weekly tasting flight menu might be a good way to engage those customers who are waiting to order at the bar and perhaps even spark a more productive conversation with Chris. We ordered the peach and ricotta dish with Thai basil... wow, a wonderful surprise. Peaches are always battling in and out of the top spot on my summer fruit list and this combination was downright dirty and delicious! We also ordered the raw oysters with watermelon mignonette. Another wow! I didn't expect the little spice kick and it was a perfect pairing to the sweetness of the watermelon. If anyone knows the recipe let me know, I'd bottle that mignonette and take it with me wherever I have oysters!! Overall, a great experience and I most definitely look forward to going back!

That's exactly what we were looking for at the end of our meal lol. I really hope management knows that they have such a kind soul with them on staff. this place was beyond friendly. i came in and it was pretty busy. i could tell that they had a lot going on. even so, the waitress was friendly and attentive. she made sure to check on my order and that it was everything i had ordered. i have ordered take-out here several times already within the past month and i've always been satisfied. they have never messed up my order and the food always tastes great when i get home. because i have always been satisfied, i believe that it's time for me to write a good yelp review. our usual take home order consists of a couple regulars: the satay chicken, siam rolls, and some curry. i'm a big fan of the yellow curry chicken, but sometimes we mix it up and get either red curry beef or mussaman curry beef and some plain sticky rice to go with curry (rice doesn't come with the meal so you have to order it on the side-- which is what i prefer... vs. having to pay for rice if i didn't want it). we also usually get the mango with sticky rice for dessert which has always been a hit with my family. the food tastes good, the people are friendly, warm and welcoming, and parking is convenient. it's also super convenient that i'm located only a couple of blocks away. if you're looking for some good thai food-- erawan is at the top! read more

excellent service with an excellent environment. i dropped by before going to the mall to get some food and after picking up some flowers. this is nice gem hidden away in almaden valley. there was no wait when i went so the food came out pretty quickly. i had a quick chat with the waitress and she was super friendly. gave me a lot of recommendations to try. i am looking forward to coming back to try their lunch special. it seems to have a little bit of everything-- soup, spring rolls, and the main course. because i didn't come for lunch this time, i just picked up some food and i really loved the mango sticky rice and the plain sticky rice that i ate with my green curry. very satisfied with everything. quality of food-- on point! on other occasions, i have gotten the satay chicken, the tod mun fish cake, the tom yum goong, and the yellow curry chicken, a couple orders of brown rice (really good) and some singha beers. can't really go wrong with these choices, however, the tod mun might be odd for people who haven't had it before. read more

Erawan Thai Cuisine is a solid neighborhood spot, but it's hit or miss depending on when you go. The food itself is usually good--especially the red curry, eggplant, and mango fried rice. You can tell they use fresh ingredients, and the flavors are comforting. Portion sizes are decent for the price, and the space has a cozy, low-key vibe. But the service can be inconsistent. I've had one dinner where everything came out smoothly and tasted great, and another where the appetizer arrived halfway through the main course and the staff seemed overwhelmed. If you're doing takeout, be cautious--it doesn't always travel well, and the flavors can fall flat by the time you get home. Overall, Erawan is a nice local Thai option when you want something quick and satisfying--but probably not the place for a special night out. We have been coming here for years. The food is really OK. You will probably not be disappointed, but what really throws me back from dining in is their cleanness. We order to go almost always! They need to understand that a restaurant has to be cleaned throughly on a daily bases and probably more deeply every month or so. I don't know how is their prepping space and dishes or if they wash their hands between handling meat and veggie dishes, I honestly don't want to think about it. Why I'm giving him three stars is so they don't think I don't like them, but please be cleaner and I will change it to more stars. read more

Recently ate here and must say, it was a very pleasant dining experience. From the egg rolls to the soup to the main pla rad na dish that we ordered, everything was great. The food was crispy, but not overly oily, fresh, but not expensive, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Being new to the bay area, I found it difficult to find a Thai restaurant that I could frequent often, but after visiting Erawan, I have found my place! Will definitely be coming back regularly and I certainly would recommend it to anyone who's looking to a great Thai place in the bay. read more

Good Thai food, but I found it to be rather expensive and heavily weighted toward seafood (and especially prawns). I was a bit disappointed with the spicy level of the food despite the waitress fretting that my order of extra spicy would result in the food being sent back, it turned out to be not spicy in any way. This is a great family run local Thai restaurant. My family and I have to coming here for years, and the food and the staff have always been amazing. This place was crazy busy over the lunch hour, but no reservations needed and we were seated almost immediately. Lots on the menu, and the food was pretty good and came in short order. It's a place to get chow in a hurry, but don't expect a quiet and quaint meal because you won't find it here. read more
