As soon as we saw them at Moonshine 152, it was an auto order, and they were exactly what you'd hope for: the perfect combination of a jalapeño popper and a crab rangoon. We started the night outside on the patio with those, a Downeast cider for me, my favorite, and a Battery Steele Golden Path Pilsner. Great weather, a view of the Pru in the distance, and crab rangoons on the table. Pretty hard to complain. For dinner, I went with Leslie Knope's Fried Chicken and Waffle. Somehow, I had never actually had chicken and waffles before, and now I understand why it's such a lethal combination. The chicken had exactly the crispiness I was craving, and throwing the sweetness of the waffle, cinnamon honey butter, and sriracha-bourbon sauce into the mix completely sold me on the whole sweet and savory thing. I now also understand why Chick-fil-A looked at chicken and waffles and essentially decided to make a sandwich out of it. My friends went with the burger and birria gringo tacos, and both gave their respective orders top marks. The best thing we ate, though, was the bananas n' cream gooey butter cake. Gooey butter cake always slaps, and Moonshine's version was top notch. Chef and owner Asia Mei even gave us a larger order, which leads to probably my favorite thing about Moonshine. Mei brought out all of our food herself and stopped to talk with us throughout the meal. That kind of thing is cool. There are plenty of places where you can get good food, but having the person behind the restaurant actually interacting with you and making you feel taken care of is the type of thing that separates a place. Everyone else working there was just as friendly and attentive, and the whole night felt easy. Sitting outside with friends, looking out toward the Pru, drinking good beer and cider and eating food that was actually fun to order is exactly what I want out of a neighborhood restaurant. Then I found out they do a burger of the month. I love a monthly burger. Give me an excuse to come back every month and see what you've come up with, and there's a pretty good chance I'm going to take you up on it. Moonshine 152 took care of us from the moment we sat down until the oversized gooey butter cake hit the table. It's absolutely worth a visit, and if they keep rolling out a new burger every month, this definitely won't be my last one.

Billy Tse's North End is hands down, the best Pan-Asian food in the city of Boston. I've lived in the North End for three years, this is my go-to spot for takeout, delivery or dining in. Recently there have been some negative reviews - I'm writing this one to set the record straight, also to thank Billy and his staff for the wonderful, delicious food they serve, the fantastic atmosphere in both the main dining area, and the newly remodeled lounge. Billy Tse's is a treasure. The signature dishes such as Crispy Sweet and Spicy Thai Basil Chicken, Coconut Shrimp, and Nancy's Tangerine beef are outstanding, innovative, flavorful, always cooked to perfection, generous portions that simply stand head and shoulders above any other Chinese restaurant in Boston in terms of both quality and uniqueness. If you are looking for average run of the mill Asian food, try elsewhere. If you enjoy something special, out of the ordinary, exceptional Pan Asian Cuisine - this is the spot! Its not the least expensive, nor is it the most expensive - but their offerings are always and without exception - outstanding with attention paid to quality, fine detail and fantastic service. In the lounge, Billy has achieved an exquisite balance that is equal parts fashionable cocktail bar, and friendly neighborhood gathering spot. Hi do not use this place they cannot cook spicy food. We stayed at Marriott Long Wharf and they told us this was a great place well we ordered expecting to get fabulous food boy were we surprised to receive substandard food. Our sweet and sour soup had no sweet or sour and was so bland, no taste whatsoever. Egg drop soup was so tasteless and luke warm no taste more like water with a boiled egg dropping. Then them miso was more like dishwater with lumps of white soap. The general TSAO was really orange chicken no spice or warmth whatsoever. We spent over $132.50 plus delivery fee and a 20% tip for tasteless food. We did request paper plates and silverware but received none. Even asked delivery guy if they had put plates in bag and told yes. Did contact owner and she said so sorry your loss. We will not do anything. Manager very condescending and rude. read more

Service & food quality have definitely deteriorated here unfortunately! Used to be fairly consistent, but my last meal here was sub par with terrible customer service. There was clearly a language barrier with our waitress who barely spoke English. When she brought us the wrong order, we explained what dish we originally ordered and requested a correction. She ended up bringing us the same order- then charging us twice!! We politely requested a minor price adjustment to the bill, only to be told it could not be done. Went on a week night and there was a decent crowd in the bar area so we just grabbed a table. We had the miso soup which was flavorful as far as miso goes and the hot and sour wich was decent. The spicy tuna roll and the seaweed salad were also fantastic! My only complaint was that we felt very rushed the entire evening which I could of understood if the were busy and needing the table or if we were the last ones in there but this was not the case. I love the food at this place! I have been to many Chinese restaurants in and around Boston - as well as outside of Boston - and I think that Billy Tse's has the best Chinese food by far. I have sampled almost all of the food on the menu except sushi but a friend of mine loves the sushi. I was appalled by how stingy they are with the ingredients: 1) the little amount of sushi rice they spread out so thin in ONE SINGLE GRAIN OF RICE LAYER and 2) filling 1/3 of the inside of the roll with cheap tempura flakes. I have NEVER had sushi like this where it's so obvious the restaurant is skimping out on ingredients to keep more money in their pocket. You can tell how tiny each roll is by how they fit 2 rolls on 1 tiny tray. They're putting less rice, less raw fish, avocado, cucumber etc and substituting it with cheap filler tempura flakes??? I've never eaten sushi with tempura flakes on the inside; it adds absolutely nothing with zero flavor. Tempura flakes might be used as a decorative topping as an afterthought but not inside a roll. There was barely enough rice on the outside of the roll that I could see the seaweed layer peeping through. This place is clearly overpriced/a borderline scam for the product and the most unusual "sushi" for a consumer to pay for. You can find better sushi at the grocery store. The guy at the register taking my order was also rude and had an "I don't care about you" attitude.
