Billy's diner in tannersville avoid this place. It's been there for years. My family's lived in this town, my entire life I used to think this place was good. I went in there with my family. The service was fast at first. Then, I ended up waiting for refills On coffee asked for to go container waited on that didn't even have time to get another cup of coffee. Because one of us had to go to work right up the street I might add. So I get up from my table to go get container while i'm on my way to get it, the waitress finally brings it.I ask her for her to go cup of coffee.They proceed to charge me for the to go cup of coffee after being slow Poured for the coffee I already bought and needing to leave to go to work. So I said, No, nevermind proceeded to pay the check and still tip the server 20%. But then I told the server and the owner, how I felt the owner was mostly silent.And the server started yelling and berating me in front of customers. Tells me we deal with tourists all day,We can't give out free cups of coffee when I already paid for the coffee. And I'm not a tourist, I've lived here for 50 years. Then, she starts hitting me with the bro. I don't need your money bro. In that racist tone, when people intentionally call you bro, because you're black, all of this in front of the owner who continued to allow her to speak to me this way.She says, I put my kids through with this i don't need your money bro. So I removed my tip and left the restaurant never to return. This is how they feel about paying customers. This is how they feel about locals. It's a tourist trap that's overpriced. And they don't even like you, when you're giving them your money. Edited: I know, bro is not always a racist term. I know it's used otherwise, but it's the context and the way that it was said. And even if it wasn't racist, it was disrespectful. If somebody says whatever bro to you, they 're telling you to go f yourself. But in this situation, that is not the context. Staff are extremely friendly and restaurant I very clean . Fast service . However , the food was extremely bland and the breakfast meat was cold. Seemed like they precooked it and hand it out as it's ordered. read more

Walked to the door , owner locked us out and put a sign up 20 minute wait , that was odd to begin with , we decide to wait and Finnaly he lets us In and locked it for the people behind us... We sit don't get our order taken till about 20 minutes , and sat for a hour after that , still no food gotten , multiple other tables sat with no food , or either sent there's back , three people decided to walk out completely which we decided to do also , a hour and 15 sitting for absolutely nothing but coffee , walk out and they have multiple uber bags full with foods just sitting , While customers waited empty handed , don't go to this place read more

Service was superb. Zero wait time and staff were friendly. I got a soup & salad combo while my wife got a Greek gyro and no complaints on our end. It was one of the best veggie soups I have ever had! The home fries were excellent as well! Prices were reasonable and typical diner ones. So we are at this diner this morning on Valentines Day because we always go to a diner anywhere we travel too because we loveeeeee diners lol and we ordered breakfast but also noticed the atmosphere was very .... weird. We had a very nice waitress and we got our food and then we hear the owner of this establishment yelling at his female employee like complete shit. He told her "do you even want to work here when you don't obey my commands?" , belittling her , talking down to her. He was also talking to all of the other waitresses that way telling they they need to OBEY HIS COMMANDS or they will be out of a job . Mind you he only has female employees , we did not see one male employee besides him and they looked in age range if 18-60 all females and they all looked scared to even crack a smile or laugh. So I paid and said "I just want to say you should be a little nicer to your employees" and he says "what do you mean what do I say? I didn't say anything" I said you told her she needs to obey your commands and no one should be giving anyone a command as someones boss and he says "yeah she's been here 33 years and shes not obeying me by getting ice" (so she had to have been like 50/60) and I said even more reason to not speak to her that way and you don't talk to your employees like that you wouldn't speak to a male employee that way" ... he then responded and said "mind your business and go lose weight" so I told all the staff I'm sorry they have to work for a piece of shit and we left. The food tasted like shit and the owner of the establishment is very disrespectful and he degrades his employees because he thinks "owns them". No one, no employee, no woman should be treated that way when you work for someone no matter if it is 33 years or 3 months. NO WONDER THEY HAVE A "HELP WANTED" SIGN UP, I hope all of those ladies find a better job where they are treated so much better. read more

It's pretty much what you'd expect from a standard diner. The overall aesthetic felt a bit run down. As a party of four, we kept it simple with our orders: a chocolate chip waffle that was underwhelming, a BLT that was decent but nothing memorable, and wings with mozzarella sticks, which were fried to perfection--hard to go wrong with fried food. We were welcomed with a smile and that kind of southern hospitality feel. We sat down in a very spacious area. if you have a large party there are definitely enough seats. I ordered the fish and chips and they were nothing to write home about; however, they were delicious! The little one got the hot dog and the Mrs got the hot turkey sandwich which was massive!!!! Went in for lunch at 1:15 on a Friday, only 3 other tables of customers, hmmm. Waitress friendly,attentive, order came out all correct. Ok diner fare. Vegetable soup had good flavor but some chunks way too big. Grilled cheese and tomato, good, fries ok, little underdone for me. Got bill, $24.22!! Soup 3.95, coffee 2.95, kinda average prices, sandwich was 7.95 on menu, little high for grilled cheese but not awful, but fries (I didn't check menu) were 6.95!! for like 50 cents of potatoes and 1.50 for tomato on sandwich. Know why it was almost empty at lunchtime. So $16.40 for grilled cheese and fries, just too high. And they charge that ridiculous credit card fee so many places do now, I always have cash. A family owned diner established in September 1984, located in the heart of the Poconos. This was my first time trying this diner out with a friend. We decided this will be our place to go, to have dinner before going to our support group. We both lost a loved one , a child. And support one another. The waitress was very personable and attentive. We both ordered bowls of soup and shared an order of there disco fries. ( French fries topped with melted cheese , and brown gravy ) Food was delicious. We opted for a diner off I-80 because we never found a diner we didn't like. This place changed that. Four people and our bill was over $85 for breakfast. Two omelettes, two ham and eggs, a short stack and coffees. The one omelette was basically scrambled eggs with salsa added. The other was charged $2 for cheese (yes paid extra for cheese in an omelette). We paid less in the city for better food. Nothing came out hot. Even the toast was cold. I usually root for the local guy, but if you need food in this area consider a chain or look for another local restaurant. read more

According to my daughter, this restaurant has the best service ever. Solid breakfast with my family. We wanted to go to the outlets after a waterpark on our way back to NY but the outlets didn't open until 10am so we decided to have a family breakfast before shopping. My son ate every last scrap of his over easy yolk and proclaimed it amazing. (For honesty's sake, he has low stands in general but is an egg connoisseur) Our food was good and service quick and friendly. It is very rare I leave a negative review, and I nearly never leave a 1 star review. With that said, the food wasn't bad and the waitress was friendly. The positives end here. This review is very personal to me because I live here. I am a local to this area and I know it is a touristy area and I know places sometimes will raise their price a bit to reflect that to take advantage of city folks in a country setting. This is above and beyond that. The menu says $7.95 for mozzarella sticks, I was charged $10. Inexplicably. Just price magically changed on it's own. The cost for a soda here is $3.50 and does not include refills. These soda's literally cost a restaurant $.30 to put in a cup. That is a 1200% markup. Burger and fries were $14, that I can work with. I go to pay after seeing the bill and being shocked, and they tack on a $2 fee for using a credit card. It didn't say this anywhere in the entire establishment or I would have used cash, I had plenty of cash on me. I had nostalgic feelings attached to this diner until today. I used to take my kids here when they were young. I will never enter this diner again, even if you're paying. I feel disgusted. Food is typical diner food, I've been going here for years. The wait staff is amazing, but the person who appears to be the boss, an older man at the front register, is not nice. Listening to him yell and belittle his staff was uncomfortable. After today's interaction, I don't think I'd go back which is sad because it's a nostalgic place I like to go to when in the area. When I see low stars on a place like this it makes me sad. We really enjoyed Billy's. It was conveniently located next to the outlets which we had been planning on going to after breakfast. Their banana pancakes were literally to die for and both my husband and I enjoyed our omelettes. As far as pricing it was no different than other diner in the area. Prices are high everywhere, these little home town diners are just trying to survive like everyone else. Staff were excellent. Absolutely no complaints and I loved the out dated decor. Reminded me of when I was kid and how diners were a staple of family get togethers. We will decently be back! read more

On Sunday, April 21st, 2024 at approximately 9:30am, I made a phone call to Billy's Pocono diner. I wanted to place an order to pick up breakfast. I was going to order 5 steak, egg, and cheese bagels. A gentleman picked up the phone. I believe he was actually the owner. I said: Hello, good morning. How are you doing today? He response was: Yes, can I help you? I said: ok.... I'd like to place an order for pick up. He said: we don't do take out until 2pm. And then he immediately hung up the phone on me. I was actually parked outside at the time I called so I walked inside. The gentleman told me at thr door... table for 1? I said: I'd actually like to place an order to go please. He told me again that they don't take to go orders until 2pm. I said that there's hardly anyone here and I'm going to wait for it. Would you serve me if I had a party of 5? I understand why you'd have that in place but since there's hardly anyone here and it isnt busy, would you please accommodate me? And I was actually the one that called... you just hung up the phone on me after saying that you don't take orders to go until 2pm. Why do you have to be so rude? He responded by saying: what do you want me to do, make a date with you? You're being rude to me! I said we don't do take out and you're still here. I said: are you kidding me? I'm one of the most polite people you'll ever meet. He responds by saying: Me too....I'm polite too. You know what, I'm not gonna argue. What do you want? Then he put the menu on the table. I said I wasn't going to order food from you anymore. I asked: You don't want business? This is how you treat people? He walked away from me and said he was done. I left right after. I'd never expect this type of treatment from an owner. Usually owners make it their priority to be kind and welcoming to customers because they'd like them to come back. I'm not sure if me being African American played a role with his treatment of me as he was rude to me over the phone prior to seeing what I looked like. Stopped in on my way to Mount Airy casino for dinner. Interesting to say the least . It was kinda dark inside. You walk right into the what I thought was counter service .. waitress was pleasant and sat us down right away. Asked for our drink order. Again interesting set up. They were a lot of tables . There was a number of choices on the specials menu. They are known for their pierogies. Didn't have them. I opted for a Billy's burger and fries. At a diner for the first time it's a safe choice. Was about maybe 15 minutes for the waitress to bring our food. The burger was good typical.. I'll go back and try something else. The table in front of us got the open faced roast beef sandwich and a chicken parmigiana dinner.. huge portions.. They only 3 negatives are .. 1 the price of the drinks are $3.50 2 the diner got crowded and the waitress never came back to check and I had to flag her down for a refill 3 RIGHT there with the check Would have been nice to ask if we wanted dessert or coffee read more
