I had all the mercury taken out of all my teeth. It took several days to get all the work done. Later, several of the crowns crumbled apart, and t sureI had to have everything redone. I lost several teeth that had to be pulled years later because the crowns did not fit correctly over the teeth. There were gaps everywhere. Morales did some of and Edgar did some of the work. I spent a fortune having everything redone at a different place years later. They offer sedation to people while they are getting dental work. I saw that they would leave people unattended while under. The whole gang would just go back into the courtyard some were smoking cigarettes and I believe they may have been doing Coke. I've heard that rumor and the way they huddle up and go in a corner all throughout the day does looking indicative of it. Dr Morales's x girlfriend Tory told me that many of her teeth had to be pulled too due to shoddy dental work. Many of the people I met out there told me they had problems later as well. I kept in touch with several of the people one was a naturopathic doctor from the states who used to send patients to him then stopped. One day, Dr. Morales had a friend stop by. That got a new fancy car and they just went out drag racing and he blew off the whole day when he had a room full of patients waiting & one Lady had traveled from Europe to see him and Me from Florida. read more

Apparently I never wrote a review for Dr Morales. My wife needed some dental work done and Mercury removed from her mouth. She was fighting cancer and anyplace in the US was way too expensive and a lot of dentists we talked to didn't could not explain how they would do it safely. A friend referred us to Dr Morales. No only was he way cheaper $1500 instead of $6000 in the US, so we called him. We've never been able to communicate with an office or Dr like here. Dr Morales will personally talk to you himself and is very open and honest, not to mention the holistic side of things. My wife had been gathering information on holistic, alternative and natural treatments before it became main stream like it is becoming more and more. Dr Morales was kind enough to sit down with her for well over an hour answering questions. The work he performed on my wife was amazing. She did have a lot of challenges with some of her dental work, I'm not sure if we paid him enough but for the first time in a long time, she had no pain at all in her mouth. He is not hard to find, it's a pretty direct drive from the boarder. Back in 2006 I was in San Diego and about to re deploy back to Iraq. I needed some dental work performed before I could leave and from a recommendation by a friend contacted Dr. Morales. He was able to get me in a few days later. DR Morales performed what needed to be accomplished and had me out and back to work one day later. Here it is 2021 and I am still doing wonderful! I have been going to Dr Morales for many years from San Diego. He is truly a biological dentist. He will put no mental into your mouth. He has removed all my metal amalgam fillings and replaced them with composite and I have had two zirconia crowns put in. These are superior to porcelain and are more like ceramic. I have been to US dentists and they are always pushing unneeded procedures at three times the price. Dr Morales is very gentle and professional. I much prefer him to using any kind of dental insurance and US dentists. Go during the weekday mornings, to get back across the border much faster. read more

Update 3/1/2017 - Unfortunately 2 of my new fillings have fallen out since my recent visit to Biodental Studios. I let Dr. Morales know. He apologized and recommended I have it taken care of where I live considering the cost of a flight and other expenses would exceed having it fixed locally. I'm crossing my fingers that the rest of the fillings stay in place. I'm so glad I contact BioDental Studios. I had read the other reviews but decided to investigate further. I was able to speak with Dr. Morales on the phone and immediately emailed over my digital x-rays. He was able to respond with an estimate with in minutes. I made the unfortunate mistake of paying another Tijuana dentist for my estimate in advance. The other dentist's prices were ridiculous... you can see the details in my other reviews (don't want to name them here). I came in for mercury filling removal and to replace 2 ceramic crowns. I needed some cavities filled as well. Dr. Morales was able to do this ease and efficiency. I only needed 3 shots to numb the areas to be worked on. I was surprised how quickly everything was done. For mercury removal they gave me oxygen and used protective dental dams to isolate the areas. They also run ionizers to neutralize airborne toxins. I was given activated charcoal and liposomal vitamin C prior to mercury removal. All dental work was quick and painless. The only discomfort was from receiving the shots which has been an unavoidable from my experience. Dr. Morales has a great personality and is very professional. His staff is great as well. Everyone was very helpful allowing me to use the phone to contact my bank*. They even called a taxi for us after we finished. *Contact your bank prior to your appointment to authorize payment from outside the country. Unfortunately my bank blocked the initial payment because it came from Tijuana. Dr. Morales let me leave after I had received all my dental work without paying. I am grateful he trusted me to clear things up with my bank and pay him the following the day. Amazing experience that has renewed my faith in people and dental care. read more

Though I signed up to Yelp several years ago, I never write reviews. But after the excellent dental work I received at Biodental Studios, I feel the need to get the word out. What Dr Morales did to improve my smile, in short amount of time, was nothing short of amazing! I went to Biodental, after hearing from a friend of their good work and affordable prices. And when I went there, I had in my mind what I thought I needed to improve my diminished chewing ability and improve my smile. I thought I needed at least three implants as well as some miscellaneous fillings. But Dr Morales wisely, and brilliantly, advised me to solve my needs in a different way. He chose a provide a series of crowns and bridges that completely transformed my bite and smile, without implants. I couldn't be more satisfied with the dental work I received from Biodental. I went to see Drs. Morales (Javier) and Montano (Edgar) to have a dental restoration done consisting of 16 teeth. The lab they use did such a poor job making up my new crowns that they were sent back to be done over again. The 2nd set of new crowns were also poorly made. I am from New York and because I had limited time, Dr. Morales said they would be fine and cemented them in anyway! The bite was HORRIBLE and could not be adjusted properly. I was told that I would get used to it! Now back in New York, I am having all the work that Dr. Morales did, done over!! So instead of saving money, I am paying DOUBLE TO GET FIXED WHAT MORALES AND MONTANO DID!! Can't speak of the quality of dental work because we never made it in! We searched the address that is still currently (as of this morning) on their website - Calle 6ta 1217, Zona Centro, 22000 Tijuana, B.C., Mexico - and it led us on a wild goose chase! Nothing there but an unpaved and rocky dirt road and abandoned buildings. No one in any of the nearby businesses had ever heard of this business. As we were in a foreign country, our cell phone service did not work and we were forced to return back home after wasting about four hours driving and walking up and down the street looking for the dental clinic that wasn't there... would have just gone into a different dental clinic but was hoping for the biological treatment, which was the entire reason we wer there. So yea, the fact that the website has not been updated does not show a high level of professionalism. Also, my original appointment that I'd made a month in advance was canceled the day before previously to the appointment that led to us going on this wild goose chase. Have gone there many times over the past 8 years. Now some of the work that I had done - needs to be ReDone. Two of the three implants Dr. Montano did 7 years ago - need to be REDONE. I emailed him with xrays and questions - he never responded. The crowns were not fit properly on implant post - there were fissures on the xray which he should have seen and made the necessary repairs or redone the crown. But instead - it was a time bomb in my mouth which got infected over time and now has to be redone. I cannot recommend him. read more

Dr. Montano and his staff are truly as good as it gets. i had a really bad case of pericoronitis for a long week. The pain was awful. Dr. Montano removed my wisdom tooth during my consultation. He was really understanding and patient. I'm really grateful, and would definitely come back when I need to. read more

I love this place! I am so sick of American dentists who are always pushing unnecessary procedures and trying to hustle my dental insurance and charging me astronomical prices out of pocket and making it seem like a great deal. My last experience with an American dentist was so bad that I never thought I would trust a dentist again. Finally my friends took me to Biodental Studios in TJ and I had such a great experience that have been there about four or five times already. My American doctor was charging me thousands of dollars for a root canal, saying my mouth was so small I needed a specialist and it would cost double than my original estimate. It was my vey back molar and I asked if they could just take it out and they said no. I went to Biodental and they took it out for like a hundred bucks I want to say (i forget the exact amount) and I've never looked back!
