Stopped here for a quick work break and it's like a hidden gem! Worker was really nice and recommended me a smoothie! Did not disappoint at all and was really fresh! The ambiance in here is insane and so unique, unlike any cafe I've been to before. Tables are so unique , love all the decor and the perfect place to study or work from. They have a lot of other items you can enjoy from too. Could not recommend this place enough!

the ambiance in this cafe is super cute, they have a ton of unique features like a keychain vending machine. You can tell they really care about building community and supporting small business. My matcha latte was decent, but nothing spectacular. I got a matcha with oat milk & flavored with strawberry. I would definitely get it again, especially since the area lacks coffee shops.

My co workers love this place so I decided to come in for a visit the other day on my lunch break! The location itself is in a very nondescript plaza but I love the vibes inside. The baristas were all friendly and cool and I love the decor inside too. Their sandwiches are simple but delicious and I'm not usually a coffee person but I had best oat milk caramel macchiato .

Came here on a Saturday morning to get some work done. The place has a lot of decorations with a nice vibe to it. I chose a table although they also have couches to sit down at. I ordered a lemonade with lavender as an added flavor. They had many different flavors to choose from. It had a nice subtle flavor. I also ordered an Italian sandwich and it was really good! I'd go back and order it again. When I was leaving I met the owner that was working next door. He was very nice and mentioned how they host different events at this cafe and in the building next to it. Overall I had a really nice experience here!

Came on a weekday for brunch and to do some studying! There was plenty of parking spots as well. All the workers were very friendly and helpful with suggestions. The air is super cold in here too! The WiFi was great and connected the whole time. Croissant sandwich with ham and Swiss cheese- Their sandwich option came with either bagel or croissant along with egg. This definitely hit the spot and was delicious when toasted. London fog- This was delicious for any non-caffeine drinkers. It was sweet but not too sweet either. My friend described it as fruity pebbles!

What a great spot!! The food was straight forward, but good. I love a toasted bagel with stuff on it. For beverages, tons of options and hella milk options and the up-charge isn't crazy. There really isn't any service outside of ordering at the counter and your order being called. It's pretty straight forward. The vibe is quaint. I want to attend a poetry night soon, but have only been during the day where all the folks are working and such. Internet seems to be high speed and the subtle details of plants, couches, comfy chairs, etc. really set the tone.

My party and I were able to walk in around 12pm so peak lunch hours and found a table being occupied by a single charging iPad. This belonged to a group of what I deem students that already occupied 2 tables (1 for them and the other for all of their items). Other than an uncontrollable factor by the establishment, we had a nice spot to study while we ordered their food and drinks. The interior is very chilled, very spacious, and the noise is reflective of the amount of customers they have. The latte matcha was good! The quality of the matcha was nice paired with the overall mix. The turkey sandwich was flavorful and a good hefty size. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and hit the spot. I also had a hazelnut latte that was hot, but the quality of the coffee was definitely better than what you get at the big name companies. I will definitely come by again when I want to study and grab a drink as it's a wonderful place to hang out and be productive. 5/5

I loved the idea of this place, and isn't that what we look for in local coffee shops? The soul and vibe and the owner who helped take my order gave me such a welcome and connected me immediately to what inspired and keeps this place vibrant. Looking forward to attending their workshops and open mic nights. The chairs are a bit cold and loud, but that's easily remedied with a jacket. The outlets were plentiful and the guests all seemed to get their orders fairly quickly. The croissant soy chorizo was small, but delicious, and was even featured in the comic book that explained the origin story of this business. Way to go!

Second time coming an ambience is really great it's nice and quiet, there's plenty of chairs, it's kind of dark but it's fine. Nice AC, plenty of comics to read and buy, and there's resources as well (flyers, pamphlets, masks, covid tests). The service is great, they're nice and patient and you can tell they care about the community. They are a bit slow I waited about 15 for two coffees and I was the first in line. Not a fan of waiting when it's to go and quick. Now the food, I don't know I haven't tasted it but the drinks are so mid. They use Costco brand oat milk and almond milk. They have no house made syrups and everything is artificially flavored. It's not something you can't do at home. They use syrup brands you can find at home goods, buy the milk from Costco, and just get some mid espresso. It's not appetizing at all the way they do it. I am giving them 3 stars for their customer service and the ambience. I would give them 3.5 because they care for their community. Drinks are a no no no here though. They have potential here but it's so mid.

A very fun and inviting coffee experience. The ambience is vibrantly decorated with lots of fun comic reading materials and an arts & crafts table that makes it interactive. Staff are really friendly , who are all welcoming. They have a large menu selection of drinks, pastries and food.

I always stop at Starbucks because it's convenient and on the way to work but honestly, I feel like it doesn't even wake me up or half of the time doesn't even taste good.. it's either too sweet or watered down. I had some extra time before going into work and I decided to stop here I got a cold brew, which was excellent! Instantly woke me up. I decided to try their breakfast croissant and that was super delicious and filling I only had half of it so far. I would come here again coffee was great and everything was made so fast. You walk into this place and BOOM you feel like you wanna just put on some headphones, lay back and relax, and enjoy the really hip ambiance of the place while reading or working. It's FULL of niche comics created by independent artists, which I couldn't support better! It is in conjunction with the comic store across from it, so the area itself is such a chill, cool place to study or hang with a friend with dark lighting and a retro type of vibe. The Matcha and bluejay lattes were great, and the food looks really delicious so I'll have to try next time. Service itself was incredibly kind and welcoming!

Definitely recommend took my daughter there. She's gone back a few times now with her husband. I've gone back with her. Their coffee is really delicious. They have some specialty drinks, which is really awesome. When I go, I get a breakfast sandwich with the croissant, bacon and eggs and it's always yummy Love the ambience there you can sit relax you can do homework. You can grab some of their books to read. It's very nice and quaint and good for kids because my daughter has a two year-old and he loves it there. read more

4.5 (only because i have had great great coffe at other cafes but all in all this place deserves a 4.5) Love to visit here before my doctors appointments. The staff is friendly! Feels organic And cozy, non judgemental. You can study here or just come in to read and they have used comics to look over or to buy! Real creative environment. The bagels are great and the coffee is good. I tried the blue jay and you can def taste the flavor of the blueberry come through the coffee. I really enjoyed it. I ordered the pizza bagel and it was totally worth it (7.50 w/tax) be couteous and leave your baristas a tip! read more

Sort of seems like a hideout by how well it is hidden, but once you get in. It is one of the best looking cafes filled with magazines. They sell food and coffee. They have occasional concerts which I haven't been to just saw their ads and the lady working there told me. Overall, the vibes of this cafe is soothing and relaxing. I love this place! read more

The Italian sandwich was amazing. I was craving a good sub and this one really hit the spot. The Cesar salad was good but if I went back, I would get the sandwich instead. I got an iced chai tea latte and really enjoyed it! I would get it again. The vibe is pretty cool here. The owner is very nice and friendly. The girl running cashier must've been having a bad day or is just naturally quiet because she wasn't very friendly or talkative. It was a very transactional convo even though I mentioned it was my first time, hoping for some explanation on things. However not everyone is talkative and friendly so it's no biggie, however that would've made the experience a complete 5/5. Great food, great vibe, great hygiene and great service are what makes it 5 stars for me. But still a very good experience and I would return. Something to note: There's a lot of political artwork, which I personally don't mind although I disagree with a couple things shown, but due to all the "colonizer" and "free palestine" art/decor, I'd be nervous to let any employee know if I was Israeli or a conservative because a lot people are uneducated on the subject but have extreme beliefs. read more

Love the vibe, gives me 90s nostalgia which as a 90s baby I adore. Easy menu options plus friendly staff! If you're looking for a cafe where you can actually read a book, lounge and/or play a board game and lay off the technology (while many customers enjoyed the wifi) this is a great place for great coffee, good food and even better down time for yourself. read more

The service was good. It was cozy just by way everything looked and the music enjoyable. I had ordered a Caramel latte very delicious but I know others may like a less sweeter. I had also ordered the Italian sandwich with Italian dressing on the side it was the best definitely would recommend. My girlfriend invited me to attend a local queer open mic. I had no idea that the Birdcage Comics Café existed before tonight. It is tucked away from the main road and easy to miss. It's worth the effort to seek it out. I had the white mocha latte and pizza bagel. They were both delicious. It is nice to see local businesses supporting the queer community. Birdcage Comics Café not only hosted the event but also had representatives from local LGBT charities. I picked up cards from TruEvolution, Welcome Home, and a few other places. They gave out free pronoun pins, information on their charities, and little rainbow flags. I got an avocado stress ball, which my dog Gunther has already destroyed. There were also some people new to open mic nights. Everyone so was loving and positive, cheering on the baby poets. The whole event was refreshing, and I hope they continue to have these events. In addition to the captivating performances by queer writers, the open mic night included a fun twist--a raffle. Attendees had the chance to participate in gay trivia and win exciting prizes. It added an extra layer of entertainment and engagement to the already vibrant atmosphere. The sense of community that permeated the event was truly remarkable. I recognized familiar faces from other local gatherings, such as the Vault in Redlands and Back to the Grind in Riverside, which further emphasized the interconnectedness of the local creative scene. You tend to see a lot of the same people at open mic nights, because they are far and few. I usually attend the open mic night at the Vault in Redlands. I was so happy to see one of my favourite queer poets, Winry, at this event. Overall, the open mic night at Birdcage Comics Café was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. From the friendly staff to the delicious food and the inclusive and supportive environment, it was evident that this venue takes pride in providing a welcoming space for diverse voices to be heard. I will undoubtedly return for future events and encourage others to do the same. read more

This place was so good! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. It was our first time visiting and the person taking our order gave us a complete rundown of the menu. I ended up ordering a caramel macchiato and a pizza bagel. 10/10 would recommend both! The pizza bagel was so good and nostalgic tasting for me. Very chill ambiance, a nice place to study or hangout with friends. I will definitely be back to support this small business & get more of their delicious food and coffee! read more

I love this place. I just recently discovered it even though I've been in this area for a while. Coffee was okay, but I really like the food here. My favorite thing to get are the bagel sandwiches. To be honest, I am not impressed with the coffee at all. Mine was undrinkable as it tasted just of brown sugar syrup. I typically like to taste my espresso. I'm not sure how many shots they use but I got a 24 oz and where I work we put two with one ounce of flavoring. This honestly tasted like six ounces of flavoring to one shot. I got my husband the vanilla iced latte 24 oz and honestly it's not much better. Super let down as this place has a very high rating. However, I did really enjoy their food and I would come back for just that & the ambiance! I bought an everything bagel with cream cheese and a ham and pepperjack croissant and was pleasantly surprised! I'll have to change up my drink order/add some shots to my drinks if I ever come back to try another coffee. read more

My sister and I went here for the first time. For coffee and a snack. We liked it actually is very different but very nice. Lots of books to read and comics. The ambiance is very cool and lots of things to see. Service is good and quick. We went during the week by lunch time. Hope this place gets good customer traffic is cute. Wish there was one in riverside hope they can open one lol. read more

Theambiance is a little on the darker side. It would be nice with a little more light. Parking is behind the structure, vegan options very limited, and it's ok, nothing to go gaga over. The bathroom wasn't well maintained, but customer service is decent. Free wifi for customers. read more

Awesome little cafe with a lot to look at and amazing food. The first thing you'll notice when you walk in is the delicious smell of bread. A wide variety of amazing options from coffee to snacks to salads and sandwiches. The Caesar salad and Italian sandwich did not disappoint! Looking forward to our next visit. read more

I guess when I saw the name of this place I let myself think it would be a cool comic themed coffee shop.. to my surprise I wasn't too far off by the decor. What was kinda upsetting was the content of the comics they displayed. This place is very "liberal" to say the least. I should've know better, but I'm always up for giving places a chance. I stayed and ordered a coffee and bagel. The coffee was mid at best and the bagel was obnoxiously covered in cream cheese. While drinking my coffee I browsed the comics just to see if there was anything appealing. I saw one called "satanic and feminist", that was all I needed to see. Won't be going back. And won't recommend for the coffee. read more

If you are someone who is terminally online, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, this is just another sandwich shop that relies on "vibes". Service here is abysmal and the food has no redeeming qualities. If you want a good sandwich, head on over to Old Town Baking Company, they know what they're doing when it comes to sandwiches. read more

I love trying new cafe spots every weekend. This is my first time trying birdcage, and I have to say the women who took our order made it feel very unwelcoming and not to sure if I would return. She talked so low and with no intent of caring to inform us what she would recommend. From the yelp review and the look of the cafe I did not expect that customer service. I will say the pastries are very delicious. Also I did see the stickers and thought they were pretty cool for some of those aswell. read more

Ryan is still there making sandwiches and (Ron I think) is still there! But that cashier chick is gone! She used to jump in and make hoagies too. The restaurant was very busy, as would be usual for a Friday evening. We placed our order at the counter with the sweetest young woman behind the counter. SHe was patient and explained all the different options to us. It appeared there was only one other person working in the back. Needless to say, orders were deep. There was a man (we assumed he was a food delivery driver), who was visibly upset at the staff because part of his order wasn't ready. He was getting loud with the sweet young woman behind the counter. The young man who was working in the kitchen came out to have an explaination of the situaiton to the angry man. It took a while for us to get our order. I'd say at least 30 minutes. Once we were called up, we just picked up and left. We didn't check our order before we took off. We got back home in Riverside, unloaded everything, and realized one meal was missing from the order. I decided to call the store to let them know. I spoke to Joey, who identified himself at the night manager. I told him how the young woman behind the counter never lost her cool and how busy the restaurant was. Joey apologized for the failure and offered to make it right. We worked together to come to an agreement where we would come back another day and they would replace the missing meal. We came back on the day we said we would. The young man behind the counter didn't seem to know what I was talking about even though Joey said he'd leave a detailed note. No matter, I had my receipt with me and presented it along with a short story of the situation. The young man placed an order in the kitchen for us. We had our replacement meal in about 10 minutes. Honestly people... be nice. It's not hard. Things happen. Just use the nice words you have in your vocabulary and let the restaurant attempt to make it right. We'll be back. Dave's is good stuff.

But the fun ambiance certainly buoyed the celebratory mood! The building is surrounded by a huge parking lot with a plethora of spaces. Why are we so devoid of real estate and parking in NorCal? The Red Fox is a great place to watch any game or just hang out. If I lived in the community, this would definitely be one of my regular haunts.
