First trip to Reno -staying at Peppermill Resort. We were starving at our 7:30 pm check in. Came to Biscotti's for burgers and a cocktail. Food, martini and service was terrific. So good, went down next day for breakfast. I had Fresh Family Hash and Husband had the chorizo scramble. Best breakfast in memory! We then went same day for dinner. I went last night with a party of six people. We spent over $450+ on sub par food and drinks. The beef stroganoff pasta was super bland. It needed salt, seasoning, the beef was overcooked. It was inedible. We barely touched it. We ordered apps and a young man, not our waiter brought out an order of wings that didn't belong to us along with what we did order. He set everything down and walked away without saying a word. The waiter came by a while later after we started eating it and said it wasn't for our table. He said because we started eating it he couldn't take it. Obviously!! Was he planning on taking it after sitting at our table for 20 min?! He charged us for the wings but they would have been thrown away...Regardless, the waiter was annoyed and rude the entire time from the moment we sat down. When we questioned the bill he said "you ate them". It was their mistake and would have been tossed. We really didn't question that one of us had ordered it until it was too late. He told us he could get his manager, with a major attitude!. I would never go back. Overpriced food, drinks, and bad service. Heavy set male with facial hair (waiter). I have visited the restaurant 2-3 times before and have been pleased with the food and it's presentation, but not so this time. The Chicken Scallopini was disgusting to look at. The chicken was tough, the gnocchi were tough and the sauce was the consist of latex paint. Horrible. The Chicken Piccata - which I used to like here - is now served on top an enormous pile of noodles so all the sauce is lost on the noodles. Again, the chicken was tough. The Everything Salmon Salad was also ugly - it looks like the Chef never took the 'food presentation class.' It was okay, but not memorable. The Fettuccine Alfredo was an overpriced plate of pasta and nothing to write home about. I think they have remodeled the restaurant and there are no longer any 'head high' barriers between the tables. Therefore there is NO privacy; you can hear everything everybody is talking about. Service was good. Definitely $$$. As far as I am concerned, another Reno restaurant has NOT survived the pandemic. I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

Wife and I ordered a burger with everything on the side including sauce and season Fries and a side of ranch to split. Burger came with sauce on it, fries were not seasoned fries, and no ranch. Told the waiter/bartender and he had to check on it. (Note: We are not ones to send food back because it never makes a kitchen happy and you don't know what they do back there.). We took my grandmother to the brunch buffet for her birthday. FYI: Brunch is only available Sundays 10am-2pm. Everything tasted amazing. I've lived in Reno all of my life and have not been to a buffet I've liked yet but this one knocked it out of the park! The staff was friendly and quick to clear plates and refill drinks. They also kept everything restocked on the buffet line. Every single thing I tried tasted great! They had salads, quiche, sushi, crab legs, duck egg rolls, different meats, muffins, donuts, and a whole dessert room! There was so much more, the menu online only listed a few of the several things that were actually there. Also if you're a fan of mimosa's you're in luck because they are included in the buffet price! Which, is $54.95/person. Sort of pricey but totally worth it! The food is so good here! Like really really good! I stayed here two weekends in a row. The first I just ate the room service and pool food. It's was a meh food weekend. The next weekend, I had dinner here with my whole family. I had the shrimp scampi, my husband had the prime rib, my mom had the salmon and my children had macaroni and penne. All three main course meals were delicious. But the prime rib and shrimp scampi were amazing like absolutely amazing so amazing that in-fact the next day when I was at the pool I ordered those two things again. I found myself thinking about those two dishes and can't wait to get back to Reno in three weeks to get them again. read more

We ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken which I felt tasted bland and the sauce was runny and did not stick to the noodles very well. The chicken was just as bland as the fettuccine. We stayed overnight at Peppermill and decided to have breakfast at Biscotti's before leaving the hotel. When we walked in, we were told it would take 10 -15 mins to get a table, when we could see several tables were unoccupied. We waited for more than 20 mins before going back to check, and were then given a table that hadn't been set yet. We ordered a 2 eggs breakfast with chicken apple sausage, and Biscotti's benedict. The egg breakfast was okay, but the benedict was a disappointment. The poached eggs didn't have running yolks, it was like the egg had been boiled instead of poached. The hollandaise sauce was too thick. I think we could have gotten a much better breakfast outside the hotel in Reno. read more

Oh my goodness! So. GOOD!!!! When my in-laws come to town, they stay at the Peppermill, and this is usually a stop during their trip. On this visit, I had the New York steak, and my husband had the prime rib. Absolutely yummy!!! A couple of kids had the kids' Mac and cheese, and there's a strong possibility I finished that too because it was so creamy and delightful. The Peppermill doesn't disappoint! Six of us came in for an early dinner. There were only a few other people, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The restaurant itself was very comfortable and well decorated. It made for a very inviting space. Our group ordered a wide variety of entree's, which were all very good. The prime rib was huge! I swapped out the potatoes for a wedge salad which was a great choice. The Monte Cristo got rave reviews along with the prime rib sandwich. My son gave a big thumbs up for the fish and chips. My girlfriend and I, decided to celebrate our friendship on Valentine's, Galentine's style, of course!. We called a couple of places in town a week prior Valentine's and all the places we called were booked Friday February 14 and 15th. But I remember this place has good food so we took a chance and give it a try and there it was we had a dinner reservation for two. We order a bottle of Wine called Meomi, My girlfriend order Steaks witth mashed potatoes and asparagus and I ordered Shrimp Scampi, the waiter said that it was a great choice! The food showed up and Wow!! Let me tell you I was impressed, every bite of the Shimp Scampi was tasteful, just to think about it I want to go back for more. I definitely recommend this place! Our calamari was served cool (I do t even think it was room temperature) and might have tasted better if it was served hot but when you have something that is breaded that is served cool, it looses something. My blue cheese bacon burger was delicious as were my fries and the Chinese chicken salad was just okay. Had a great experience over the weekend here at this restaurant! The restaurant is tucked away from the casino floor near the Tuscany Towers, making it a great place to venture away from the casino side. During the night, you can listen to the live music played by the band at the Terrace Lounge, adding to the classic and romantic feel of the restaurant. Although it is considered a casual dining establishment, the decor is quite elegant and lovely. Now, on to the food.They offer very large portions, and the presentation is magnificent. The flavor on the dishes we ordered, however, were a bit salty for both of our tastes. We ordered the French Onion Soup, the Prime Rib of Beef and the Wood-grilled Chicken. Both entrees were large and looked great! The French Onion soup was quite salty, but with the added cheese on top made it a little more palatable. The Wood Grilled Chicken was also slightly salty, but not inedible. My Prime Rib was the only dish that was seasoned perfectly and was tender and delicious. The staff was extremely attentive and nice, and is definitely part of the reason I will be returning. They offered pleasant conversation, and were so friendly. read more

Service was very good. The portions are really big too. My husband and I split the Banh Mi sandwich which came with a side salad (other side options as well) was very flavorful and plenty big for us to share. He also has a cup of their Italian sausage soup which was excellent. I had the Banh Mi sandwich last year when we were Reno and I will have to say it was so memorable last year that I had to come back and have it again this year. This year's sandwich was good but the meat was a little tougher than last year's sandwich. The beef was super tender last year. My daughter had spaghetti and meatballs and was a huge portion! She was hungry, but had over half leftover when she was full! Her boyfriend had one of their burgers and was an average burger. Asked for medium rare and was more medium. Definitely try it, the photo images that change on the wall will have you planning your next vacation before the end of the night and the music from the adjacent bar keeps things lively as well. Came here while staying at the Peppermill and I'm glad that I did! Had an overall great experience with the service and food. We came around 8:30pm and waited around 10-15 minutes for a table. They asked for our phone number and texted us when our table was ready which was convenient since we were able to explore around the hotel while waiting. We ordered the Biscotti's Melt with crab and a side of fries and the Mushroom Sausage Pepperoni Pizza on Flatbread. The food was fantastic! The Biscotti's Melt with crab was definitely my favorite! I definitely recommend getting it with crab because it went so well together and the taste was amazing. The pizza was good as well and pretty big so we had a lot of leftovers. For dessert we got the warm skillet chocolate chip cookie which was delicious but decadent. I would definitely recommend if you have a sweet tooth because it is definitely sweet but still really good. The service was great as well. Our server was super attentive and friendly. The ambiance was nice as well. It is quite expensive but that's expected inside the hotel. Overall a great experience and would recommend giving this place a try when in the area! read more

Not a big fan, usually, of restaurants in a resort or hotel. Too many times, one feels like a captive audience, forced to endure terrible service and mediocre (at best) food. Not Biscotti's. First, the service. One morning, we had Jose. He was excellent. Put in our requested modifications, delivered great good, and kept my coffee full without being obnoxious. Another afternoon, Paulette took care of us. She joked with us, answered our questions, and like Jose put in our requested modifications without getting all weird. The wine list (lunch with Paulette) has very moderately priced wines at $10-$12/glass. The Tuscan omelet for breakfast was packed with vegetables and avocado (fruit or nut?). Potatoes were perfect, not greasy or salty, with a bit of a crunch on the outside. The Biscotti burger, the prime rib sliders (three on a plate, with crunchy sauteed onions heaped on top), and my grilled romaine salad were reasonably priced and good values. You have to know what to expect when going to a place like Biscotti's. While it looks like a restaurant you can't get into without reservations, it's actually more the equivalent of the typical casino cafe that offers a wide range of food options for guests. With that said, it's one of the nicest casino cafe's I've been to! You immediately notice a more upscale atmosphere when you arrive with the nice decor and well dressed staff there to greet you. The restaurant is large and looks like it can accommodate large groups or the more intimate dining for couples. There are several different types of entrees and overall I would say they are reasonably priced. Since it's a casino, the drink prices were steep, even for basic beer it was $6 a glass and $3.50 for a soda. The kids menu was good with several options for $7.95 and the portions were huge (see pictures). The Monte Cristo sandwich is one of the best I've had and is usually something either I or my wife have to order every time we come here just to make sure we get our fix. We also ordered the wedge salad to compliment our slightly less healthy entree and it was also large and full of delicious wedge salad ingredients (bacon, avocado, blue cheese, etc) It was quiet while we were there and our server was very attentive and polite the entire time. I was staying at the Peppermill recently and I decided to order a breakfast sandwich for myself on the way out. With COVID, all their restaurant menus are online and you can easily place and order for pickup through the website. I got a ham and cheese croissant sandwich with breakfast potatoes and it was ready and waiting for me when I arrived to pick it up. It was a little pricey, as casino food generally is but it was a much larger portion than I expected and it was super delicious. The sandwich had the perfect amount of toppings and the croissant stayed crispy, not soggy. The breakfast potatoes were absolutely delicious, although they were a little oily. Cocktails at Biscotti's might seem odd, but if you look closely at the menu, you'll see the fingerprints of the Peppermill's Mixologist, Ilona Martinez, all over it. If you've read any of my other reviews of the Peppermill's bars and restaurants, you'd know that I'm a HUGE fan of their cocktail program and her recipes. Not only are her drinks well balanced and incredibly delicious, but she devotes countless hours to training the staff that make these drinks for guests on a regular basis so that each one is consistent. This was the first time I was able to take advantage of this amazing check-in offer. Craft cocktails here are around $12, and we tried the Oaxacan Holiday (El Silencio Mezcal, Mandarin Napoleon Liqueur, Orgeat Syrup, and Fresh Lime Juice served over crushed ice) and the Pineapple Infused Patron Margarita (Infused Pineapple and Vanilla Patron Silver Tequila, Fresh Lime Juice, and Agave Nectar served over or frozen). Both drinks were excellent, and taking $24 off the bill made them just a little bit sweeter! Peppermill calls BIscotti's casual dining, but I'd argue that's only in the sense of the atmosphere because the food and service is absolutely top notch. Jay, our server, was a fantastic ambassador for the restaurant and property. He had a smile the entire time, answered all questions, predicted needs, and visited the table on the most perfect of intervals, insuring a beautiful dining experience. Honestly, I haven't had a service experience like this in a LONG time, and I was extremely impressed. Last, but certainly not least, the food! It's REALLY freaking good! I've enjoyed the patty melt both times I've dined here, and it's easily one of the best I've ever had. It starts with a half pound certified angus beef burger (NOTE: HALF POUND is so impressive. I don't know why they label it 8 oz. on the menu), topped with a pile of perfectly caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, melted swiss cheese, and whiskey aioli, all between thick cut, toasted marble rye bread. The bread is substantial, standing up to the all the goodness between it; and the kitchen cooks the burger to your liking, and nails it every time! Just like Lo's cocktails, Biscotti's is an incredibly well balanced dining experience.
