You have to know what to expect when going to a place like Biscotti's. While it looks like a restaurant you can't get into without reservations, it's actually more the equivalent of the typical casino cafe that offers a wide range of food options for guests. With that said, it's one of the nicest casino cafe's I've been to! You immediately notice a more upscale atmosphere when you arrive with the nice decor and well dressed staff there to greet you. The restaurant is large and looks like it can accommodate large groups or the more intimate dining for couples. There are several different types of entrees and overall I would say they are reasonably priced. Since it's a casino, the drink prices were steep, even for basic beer it was $6 a glass and $3.50 for a soda. The kids menu was good with several options for $7.95 and the portions were huge (see pictures). The Monte Cristo sandwich is one of the best I've had and is usually something either I or my wife have to order every time we come here just to make sure we get our fix. We also ordered the wedge salad to compliment our slightly less healthy entree and it was also large and full of delicious wedge salad ingredients (bacon, avocado, blue cheese, etc) It was quiet while we were there and our server was very attentive and polite the entire time. I was staying at the Peppermill recently and I decided to order a breakfast sandwich for myself on the way out. With COVID, all their restaurant menus are online and you can easily place and order for pickup through the website. I got a ham and cheese croissant sandwich with breakfast potatoes and it was ready and waiting for me when I arrived to pick it up. It was a little pricey, as casino food generally is but it was a much larger portion than I expected and it was super delicious. The sandwich had the perfect amount of toppings and the croissant stayed crispy, not soggy. The breakfast potatoes were absolutely delicious, although they were a little oily. My husband and I split the Banh Mi sandwich which came with a side salad (other side options as well) was very flavorful and plenty big for us to share. He also has a cup of their Italian sausage soup which was excellent. I had the Banh Mi sandwich last year when we were Reno and I will have to say it was so memorable last year that I had to come back and have it again this year. This year's sandwich was good but the meat was a little tougher than last year's sandwich. The beef was super tender last year. My daughter had spaghetti and meatballs and was a huge portion! She was hungry, but had over half leftover when she was full! Her boyfriend had one of their burgers and was an average burger. Asked for medium rare and was more medium. Definitely try it, the photo images that change on the wall will have you planning your next vacation before the end of the night and the music from the adjacent bar keeps things lively as well. Cocktails at Biscotti's might seem odd, but if you look closely at the menu, you'll see the fingerprints of the Peppermill's Mixologist, Ilona Martinez, all over it. If you've read any of my other reviews of the Peppermill's bars and restaurants, you'd know that I'm a HUGE fan of their cocktail program and her recipes. Not only are her drinks well balanced and incredibly delicious, but she devotes countless hours to training the staff that make these drinks for guests on a regular basis so that each one is consistent. This was the first time I was able to take advantage of this amazing check-in offer. Craft cocktails here are around $12, and we tried the Oaxacan Holiday (El Silencio Mezcal, Mandarin Napoleon Liqueur, Orgeat Syrup, and Fresh Lime Juice served over crushed ice) and the Pineapple Infused Patron Margarita (Infused Pineapple and Vanilla Patron Silver Tequila, Fresh Lime Juice, and Agave Nectar served over or frozen). Both drinks were excellent, and taking $24 off the bill made them just a little bit sweeter! Peppermill calls BIscotti's casual dining, but I'd argue that's only in the sense of the atmosphere because the food and service is absolutely top notch. Jay, our server, was a fantastic ambassador for the restaurant and property. He had a smile the entire time, answered all questions, predicted needs, and visited the table on the most perfect of intervals, insuring a beautiful dining experience. Honestly, I haven't had a service experience like this in a LONG time, and I was extremely impressed. Last, but certainly not least, the food! It's REALLY freaking good! I've enjoyed the patty melt both times I've dined here, and it's easily one of the best I've ever had. It starts with a half pound certified angus beef burger (NOTE: HALF POUND is so impressive. I don't know why they label it 8 oz. on the menu), topped with a pile of perfectly caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, melted swiss cheese, and whiskey aioli, all between thick cut, toasted marble rye bread. The bread is substantial, standing up to the all the goodness between it; and the kitchen cooks the burger to your liking, and nails it every time! Just like Lo's cocktails, Biscotti's is an incredibly well balanced dining experience. Haven't been here in years. The atmosphere is very nice. This restaurant use to be a favorite of ours. I think the quality of food was better a couple of years ago. It seems to be more of a coffee shop type restaurant. I feel I can get better quality and price for the same meal at several other casino's in town. Our food was good but in the old days the food was outstanding and left a lasting impression on you, making you want to return. Our waiters were outstanding. My daughter and I split fillet mingon. My son had prime rib and my husband had halibut. The halibut with cream sauce was the only meal that was outstanding. The prime rib was about average. "Biscotti's" is a wonderful restaurant with a truly pleasant ambiance and hospitable staff! "Megan" who served us the other day, and "Naite" who served us today, are both quite wonderful! For two consecutive days, I had the "Power Bowl." Sooo good! It's a bowl of quinoa, asparagus, spinach and shitake mushroom. Absolutely healthful and satisfying! I wouldn't mind having it again! The Sunday brunch is definitely going to be a once per month occasion from here on out! I LOVE LOVE LOVE seafood and Biscotti's (Alaskan king crab) Sunday brunch was so darn delicious, I can't stop thinking or talking about it! I should literally be a spokeswoman for this place :) It's only offered every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and it's currently $38.95 per person. Like all of the Peppermill billboards around town advertise, 20% off for locals every day, so sign up for the players card to receive this discount! It was apparently $35.95 a couple of years ago . . . We showed up around 11:00 and got seated at a table right away. Most of the customers in the restaurant were ordering from the main menu, which was a good sign and meant we didn't have to wait in any lines and . . . more crab for us! Bottomless mimosas and champagne are complimentary with the brunch. Obviously, we started with a round of those and the sweetheart of a server kept them topped off the entire time. In fact, all of the staff was extremely persistent on keeping the mimosas topped off while our water glasses sat empty the entire time. However, I'm sure if I asked for water it would have been brought over immediately, water was the least of my concern. Most casino restaurants and/or buffets in Reno offer wimpy little snow crab that you have to pry open while water leaks everywhere then your left with barely any meat. Not here. Biscotti's has phenomenal Alaskan king crab legs that are already cut length-wise, so all you have to do is scoop it out with your fork (or fingers) then bathe in warm butter. Next we have gigantic prawns which are already peeled and finally, endless oysters on the half shell. Not to mention they also offer a nice display of all you can eat sushi, nigiri, seared tuna, smoked salmon, cioppino, and an omelette bar. It overflowed the container and was painstakingly crafted to meld the two flavors I chose into one cup with an overwhelming amount of gelato. Cleanliness - clean with plenty of seating. Selection - more gelato than my tastebuds could fathom. I tried 4 flavors total even though I was immediately hooked on the coffee and green tea, which I tried first. Taste - the gelato is nice. The flavors are strong enough to provide a perfect taste profile without being overwhelming. I would return here next time I am craving a sweet gelato treat. So far, the best meal I've had in the two days I've been at the Peppermill. Lunch today was black bean soup, which tasted a little more like chili and had very few black beans, but at least it had flavor--and a salad. They have two menus... one for eating in and one for takeout. If you want the better selection, use the eat-in menu even if you're taking out. They had a variety of salads on that menu, and I can't remember what it was called... Sierra Salad, or something like that (cranberries, feta, walnuts), but I got that with steak, and it was perfect. EXACTLY what I needed. It did take an insufferable amount of time to make, though. I think they forgot about it, but the steak was cooked (medium) perfectly, and I am sure I will go back for another salad before I leave! The margarita pizza thin crust was perfectly created and enjoyed to the fullest! My husband ordered his own dish however after I kept mentioning how yummy the pizza was he ended up enjoying 3 slices himself! When we returned for breakfast a few days later the garden omelette was also scrumptious! Packed with healthy veggies and cooked perfectly! Fajitas came with onion, bell peppers, jalapeños, tomatoes, and mushrooms. It also came with a side of quinoa, refried black beans, avocado, pico de Gallo, and a choice of flour or corn tortillas. My boyfriend got the Butternut Squash Raviolis. It came with a side of cheesy garlic bread. Vegan Fajitas - 5/5, flavor was great. Only thing missing was a side of hot salsa. So I'm actually sitting in this restaurant right now waiting for our food. My mom and I ate here last night, the food was great, our server was very nice, but the wait for everything was quite ridiculous. Our server was literally running back and forth, I don't blame her for the wait, they were clearly understaffed. But it's really frustrating how long we waited for food and to even just get the check. We decided to eat here again since we are staying at Peppermill and the food was delicious. But here we sit with the same issue, we weren't acknowledged at our table for at least 15 min, after getting waters and ordering it was at least 25 min until our food came. Our server only checked in with us twice and we are still waiting to get the check. The issue with this place is definitely not the food, maybe there's not enough cooks to keep up on orders, but there's definitely not enough staff. Also, I see some staff just walking around aimlessly, if you don't have anything to do how about you fill up waters or take away plates? Makes no sense to me, they could be a great place! read more

I stayed at the peppermill this weekend in the Tuscany suits. We stayed right next to Biscotti's. Although we had access to all restaurants. Biscottis was our go to restaurant. Day 1 we ate Street Tacos and Quesadilla's, Day 2 I had the Tuscan chicken sandwich I think it was called. My husband had the Vanilla waffles. Day 3, I had the prime rib hash and my husband had the Lemon Ricotta Waffles. Everything was amazing. We ate at one other restaurant for dinner because we wanted something a little fancier. Came here for dinner the other night. They had gluten free pasta so I tried there Alfredo sauce. It was creamy and had a good amount of garlic. Server was knowledgeable about gluten free and informed me of how they make the gluten free pasta. I have a glass of Prosecco and they have a very generous pour. Biscotti's restaurant is located in the new wing of the Peppermill Hotel. If you follow the map to get to it, you will get lost, as my friend and I did. It is faster to ask someone how to get there than try to get there on your own. The restaurant itself is large and has many large round booth seating. The decor reminded me of the Cheese Cake factory, with the dropped lamps from the ceiling. There are a lot of nice paintings hanging inside and around the new wing. The painting that was above my booth was named "Table for Two". For some reason, I thought at first it was a small indicator to the host that the booth seats a party of two. Then I finally looked at the entire picture and saw a table with 2 chairs. I think I like my idea better that it was an reminder for the host. I had the Neapolitan Pappardelle, which was wide egg noodles mixed with red wine braised short ribs, mushrooms and without the Fontina cheese. This dish was too oily due to the braised short ribs. The sauce was from the short ribs dripping, which made the dish unappetizing. I also had the watermelon salad, which was actually the only thing I liked. It was served with strawberries and jicama. All the meals are served in large dinnerware,so I can see why the seating is large. Unless they are accommodating for large guest? Hmmm...dunno. Overall, my meal here was okay. Here for Thanksgiving weekend, had the buffet on Thursday, had all the classics like turkey and dressing it was good plentiful and the line was small without a huge crowd. There wasn't a lot of items on the menu for vegetarians, but my super friendly server helped me with a few options. In the end I settled on a veggie melt with fries. It really reminded me of a grilled cheese sandwich with spinach and tomato in the mix. The sandwich itself was really good. Bursting with cheese and with two of my favorites, spinach and tomato inside. The french fries were just OK. It could have been sitting for a while before coming out or over cooked, either way they were hard and dry. All in all this would have been a 3-4 star review based off of food quality. Service is what earns a 5 star review. I wish I remembered the server's name. She was quick and attentive, friendly, and helpful.
