However, we purchased a few heart-shaped biscuits with blueberries that were 50 cents and our corgi and boxer both vomited within hours of consuming. My little Bella Boo (ig:@thebellaboo) was turning 10 this past weekend, so I of course had to get her a cake! This place came highly recommended from a coworker, so I headed over there on Saturday afternoon. I was delighted to find they had a selection of cakes and cupcakes and treats in the display case. I selected a sweet potato and peanut butter cake that was just about the cutest little cake ever and perfect size for my little girl (she's about 9 lbs.). While they were boxing up the cake (it came with a pink candle too!), I browsed the rest of the store. There were clothes and bandanas, packages of dog and cat food, treats, harnesses and toys. I found a cute little gold crown and purchased that as well. The service was great, price was right, and selection better than I anticipated! Later, I presented my baby girl with the cake, and she loved it (or at least it seemed like she did with the way she gobbled it up!). Similar to another guest's comments recently. I got treats for my dog, (some 50 cent biscuits and a freeze dried duck neck), and my dog threw up almost 15 minutes after consuming the biscuit treat. The next day she has diarrhea. Her stomach was perfectly fine the day before (solid poops and hard). My guess is the biscuit treats she had since the freeze dried duck neck was consumed 2-3 days prior to this happening. Great little small business but I'd stay away from the open treats specifically the biscuits. read more

PARKING: Street parking is metered Mon-Fri until 6pm so be sure to feed the meter or go there after 6pm or Sat/Sun/Holidays so you don't have to pay. STORE: on the smaller side but it's a boutique not a Petsmart so I expected there'd be more specialty organic environmentally safe products sold here. They have a good amount of stuff with an aisle shaped in a circle around the store. PRODUCTS/CAKES: we were particularly interested in the desserts. Small selection of cakes either in a bone shape or round circle shapes. The bone shaped cakes are made with more peanut butter, but the girl explained all have peanut butter in them. There's a freezer to the right with the perishable packaged cakes that you buy plus ice cream cups. Cake was $24 for a circle shaped cake. PB cups were $1.99 each. A 4 pack of pumpkin ice cream cups was $8.99 if I remember right. She explained the cakes are ordered from outside and not made there so the designs will differ from time to time. CUSTOMER SERVICE: the girl gave our dog a treat, which he didn't eat so she gave him a different kind that he liked so she gave him two total. She was super nice, friendly, spoke clearly and thoroughly answering all my multiple questions. She seemed really knowledgeable about dogs considering she herself owns a 13 year old (I think she said 13) dog. She was nice in that she explained what other customers do as far as purchasing a cake for their dog and cupcake/cookies for other doggy guests. She also warned us about the peanut butter and that the cake is rich so it is best to share it so your dog doesn't get "mud butt" as we politely prefer to call it. DENTAL CLEANING SERVICES: I picked up a flyer about a "non-anesthetic teeth cleaning service" where once a month a mother-son pair come to the shop and clean dogs teeth without putting them to sleep! She said they've been doing it for a long time and are great at it for $175 so I plan to try this out because our dog has been put to sleep for surgery & they cleaned his teeth at the same time, but I didn't like the idea of having him drugged. The girl also explained that dogs don't need their teeth cleaned except once a year or once every two years after they're three years old. I don't own dogs however, last week my Mom asked me to come w/ her to get one of her white German Shepherds a birthday cake because Dec. 10 is his birthday. He just turned 6. I told her about this place last year due to a ROTD that my friend Angel C. wrote. I don't know the price range or the products and treats offered but after I told my Mom about it, she's been coming here since because it's a tad cheaper than the boutique inside Valley Fair mall. I saw clothing, collars, accessories, treats: cookies, cupcake lookalike things, cakes (comes in 2 sizes / shapes [the small is round and the large one is square / recatangularish]. I suggested for the big one because a) it's blue and b) because he's 100lbs. The small round ones are pink! Although pink is cute but definitely for a boy. Service was excellent. I guess my Mom only spends $30 twice a year (she has 2 of them) because they remember her when she went in June for Nala's birthday. This store was super cute and filled with lots of goodies and treats! The baked goods get switched with different designs so I can't wait to come back and see what other cute treats they have to offer! Prices were slightly pricey but what isn't when it comes to our pets. My puppy is the pickiest eater but she devoured both her pupcake and birthday biscuit. Both treats were peanut butter based. Very cute little dog boutique shop in Japantown. We were walking our babyboy Chunk around the area and happened to stop into this place out of curiosity. We were warmly greeted, well...Chunk was warmly greeted and treated by this nice asian woman behind the counter. They have a small selection of holistic/natural dog treats and other goodies here. The toy selection is small but there was something different that we did purchase for Chunk here. A hurley! So far, he hasn't chewed the shizzz out of this one yet. He's eaten through kongs and other "non-destructable" toys, and yes...he's just a tiny poodle with a bite of a saint bernard! :P We also got him a more comfortable harness so he can stop fakin his choking noises all the time whenever he's on the leash. They make birthday cakes and treats here for dogs (edible for humans too!). I usually go here on sundays since it's in Japan town, and parking can be difficult to find, and usually metered. This is by far my favorite pet supplies store. Their products are always very unique, and one of a kind. I rarely ever see anything that they have in stock in a franchised pet store like pet co or pet smart. The toys as well as the treats are always changing my pup gets to try a variety of treats whenever I have time to stop by. I've been going her since my dog was a puppy. Let's just say I was super confident about having my first dog. The owner here taught me so much! You can definitely tell that she knows what she's talking about. She recommended me several tips all without trying to promote her own items of course. Their baked goods are always fresh. The granolas and treats are priced relatively well. The treats in the glass case are a little more on the pricey end, but they're meant more for special occasions anyways. They have a large variety of collars and leashes, and cute little bow ties and outfits for the holidays coming up! Many of the treats here are pretty high value. They have little jerkies that are perfect for small dogs so you don't have to break them up prior to your training lesson. I also always try to make sure I check out the little sale section in the corner, because there's always some interesting items there. I prefer to get my dog food here, they offer Stella, Orijen, and Acana. All which are very prestigious brands. Most other foods my dog doesn't really even care about. But when it comes to these brands, he runs to his bowl. I also got one of their doggie cakes. They're premade and frozen, so they just need some time to thaw before they're served. So if you're buying it the day of, you should probably get it in the morning so it can thaw the rest of the afternoon. They refrigerate quite well, and my dog's been eating it for the past week because I didn't want to give it all to him in one sitting. But just with any rule of thumb when introducing your dog to new food, make sure you do it slowly. I usually slowly integrate my dog when switching his food over, but I didn't realize that the cake would be the same case. :x So, don't make the same mistake I did! If you're looking for one of a kind items, or the dog stores you've been going to haven't been cutting it. This is surely a place to try out. But beware, you might end up buying the whole store like I always do. read more

It was so so cute though, and I am hoping to have a birthday party with other dogs in the future. I think their birthday cakes are well designed and look cuter than other places I saw. This is a cute, little boutique in downtown San Jose. It is in a prime location in Japantown. Parking can be a challenge during the weekend. I happened to come shortly after opening (11:00am) on a weekday, so I had no issues finding meter parking right out front. The store itself is fairly small, which is not surprising for a boutique. But if you compare it to Gussied Up Boutique, the selection is not as extensive. However, they still have a nice variety of toys, treats, and other doggy accessories. I visited Biscuits to purchase a birthday cupcake for my neighbor's dog. After seeing the photos on Yelp, I had high expectations. Cupcakes cost $3.50. They're a little smaller than your average size cupcake for humans. Also, the cupcakes they had that day were not as impressive (or colorful) as the ones I saw in the photos. That was a bit disappointing. One piece of advice is to call ahead of time to check availability on the baked goods you are interested in, especially if you need them to be ready to eat immediately. I had to wait a couple hours for the cupcake to thaw because they were just taken out of the store's freezer. It couldn't be thawed in a microwave because it was baked in an aluminum cup. In conclusion, this a nice boutique but it might not have as much variety in comparison to other nearby pet boutiques. read more

I got a cake for my dog and he loved it! I am only giving three stars because I was only offered two cake options which were really small, and because the cake smelt horrible! The pictures make the cakes look bigger than what they actually are. I asked what sizes they had, and the sales clerk showed me two options on an iPad. The cake I got was pretty small and wasn't enough to be shared between dogs. I was told to keep the cake frozen until about an hour before serving which I did. When I opened the box this awful, kinda rotten, smell erupted. I gave my dog a very small piece to try and he loved it. I let it sit in the fridge until the next day to make sure he didn't get sick. This is a super fain locally owned store to pamper your fur person located smack dab on the main drag in japantown san jose. Parking is street only, but in japantown it's actually possible to find street parking usually. If not, there's a city administrated surface (pay) lot about a block away. The store is on the smaller side, but within those wall carries a well curated selction of stuff to pamper your dog with. Organic foods, shampoo, nail and ear grooming kits (specifically Pura's Ear Cleansing System)are in stock. They are well made (healthy and safe) dog chew thingys. They have every possible thing you'll want to kit out your pet with and this includes super cute pet kimono's. There is also a selection of baked treats meant for dogs. These are locally sourced dog biscuits that have decoration similar to what you'd buy for yourself. These biscuits are frosted with sugar free bone friendly ingredients, and look as good as anything I've seen at any bakery, perfect for tricking little brothers into eating, so you might want to keep them away from kids. It's also a donation site for the local animal shelter, both for food but also gently used blankets and towels. Great way to donate old bedding for a great cause. I came here last Sunday for a new collar for my dog. The collar that we wanted was too big and they said they could order it for us and call us when it comes in. A full week later, (at 10 am) I called to ask the status of the order. The girl said the owner hadn't ordered it and that they'd call me back with an update. At 4pm, my husband called to ask and they tell us they don't make it in that size. Unfortunately it felt like we were pulling teeth just to get an answer from them. I would think the business owner would want to provide the courtesy of calling a customer to let them know they cannot complete the order. The fact that I had to check in on them several times doesn't reflect well. They have doggie cakes and other goodies in the front counter. We got her the smaller, square cake which was $11. A bigger, circle cake was $25. They also have bacon flavor cupcakes for $2.50 I believe, peanut buttercups, and cookies. When we got home, all four doggies loved the cake! They gobbled it up so quickly and were looking for more! This is such a cute little dog boutique located in the middle of Japan town in downtown San Jose. They have the cutest stuff here for your pets and I seriously love this place! I normally come here to purchase Orijen Dog food. This is the only place I know that has this dog food brand. Orijen is one of the top dog food brands in 2014 and I am just super happy that they have it here so that I don't have to get it online. This store may be small but they do have a bit of everything. They have super cute birthday cakes made just for your pets along with other small baked goodies that your dog will love! They have other treats as well and really adorable toys, beds, clothes, etc. for your pets. Oh! Since it's located in Japan town, of course this place would have the cutest Kimonos for your dogs! My dog was so cute in the Kimono that I got her for her birthday. The lady at the register was really nice, helpful, and informative. I had some questions about Orijen Dog food and she took the time to answer my question and gave me tips and I really appreciated that. The only this is that this place can be more expensive (not everything) than Petsmarts and such. Parking can be hard at times and they are metered so if you go on Monday through Saturday before 6 PM, bring change! But overall, I really like this place and I definitely recommend it. First time visiting this place yesterday. It is a very small boutique with 1 employee working. I picked up a bday cake for my German Shepherd & also a small cupcake for my Terrier/Chihuahua. I also got a bow tie for the bday boy, even though it was the largest size bow tie, it looked too small for my dog. My dogs loved their treats. Chewbacca ate his cake in less than 5 mins. I definitely will be coming back to get treats for my doggies & maybe an outfit too! TIP - Make sure before you leave you check your receipt. I was charged for 2 cakes instead of 1 cake & 1 cupcake. I bring my little Frenchbull dog around Japantown and it's convenient to have this store nearby if I forget to bring a treat or poop bag. To the left Island Sol, is this cute doggie boutique. (I think they sell cat stuff too) I'm around the area at least once a week to check out the goods. I've got to hand it to the owner, as the selection is legit. Each time I visit, I see something cute. I wish they offered a few more durable toys for my pitbull. Aside from the cool toys, they've also got a selection of doggy pastries and Birthday cakes. I love their Aloha shirts and sushi toys. Totally into the Japantown spirit. Prices here are moderate to slightly expensive. And it seems that items sold here tend to be more little/ medium dog friendly. Big dogs need love too! :( Last summer, on every third Saturday, they hosted an event at Jack's bar, called "Dog Daze", from 1-5pm. Very inventive.
