As I was around Roundhouse today, I figured I would step away from my usual half sandwich and cup of soup with Quarterly and try something different. So I decided to try Bishop Farms. In short, pretty hefty amount of food that wasn't too bad for cafeteria style food. L O C A T I O N Inside Roundhouse Market & Conference Center. It's all the way in the back, basically end of the line when it comes to the food area here. Lots of seating both inside and out. F O O D O P T I O N S They had probably the most meat/protein options in various ways like plates, salads, bowls, etc. You could also get the same soup that you can get from Quarterly as they share the same kitchen. I opted for the Korean chicken bulgogi bowl. It was sizeable. There was a mound of rice, pickled cucumbers with red onions and kimchi alongside a heaping amount of chicken plus a drizzle of spicy sauce. I didn't have breakfast this morning as I was quickly heading out and was pretty busy this morning so I inhaled this and hit a full point with still a lot of it still left. It was pretty tasty. Would I say it's Korean? Meh. S E R V I C E I ordered on the left side of the counter and by the time I walked over to the other side to hand my ticket, get a drink and pay, my order was ready. Now that's quick. I think it's cause everything is prepped and they just assemble it. They were very friendly and service with a smile goes a long way. O V E R A L L I think if I was super hungry like I was today or there was a way for me to fridge leftovers, I'd totally be back. It was quite quick and easy and fairly good and sizeable. After my dental appointment, I decided to treat myself to coffee and I was hoping to have some kind of a pastry with it, but they didn't have anything but three bagels left because it was near closing time. So I got a packaged cookie that was sort of stale, but still tasted good. The person that worked there at the cash register was so nice! She also made my coffee and I was so particular that I asked her would you mind if I tasted the coffee to make sure it had the right amount of caramel in the latte cause I don't like it too sweet and she was just so nice about doing that!! I really appreciated it. It has a great ambience inside but outside is where that place shines because there's all these trees and a fountain and big umbrellas. It was just lovely. I felt like I was on a micro vacation there. Check out my pictures. I highly recommended. I don't know why the reviews aren't so good except that maybe they just don't have enough of a baked good selections. Bishop Farms is my favorite lunch-time restaurant in the Roundhouse, and I seem to eat here several times a week when I work from San Ramon. It's a sandwich/burger place but any protein dish can be made into a plate with your choice of sides. They got tri-tip, cheeseburger, Peruvian Roast Chicken, Salmon, Impossible Burger, and my favorite: Tombo Tuna with wasabi aioli. Entrees usually come with a salad or potato chips, and a surprise cookie - its pre-bagged and you won't know what it is until you open it. They also have a daily special that's often a hit: Curry Coconut Rice, Deconstructed Chicken Pot Pie. Butter Chicken, and Korean Chicken Bulgogi. Yes, these specials come with the surprise cookie too. If the cookie isn't enough, they'll also have a special dessert special for $6. If they offer the chocolate covered macaroons, get them! A bag has like 5-6 good sized pieces for you to share with coworkers or enjoy by yourself. Definitely 5-stars for Office park cafeteria. Service is super fast and they handle lines with ease. Plenty of indoor seating and outdoor lakeside seating. read more

Pleasantly surprised since the yelp reviews weren't spectacular and it's been a while since a recent one was posted for this establishment. I went for a sandwich because this store is right next to my new office and I can quickly walk to it. I ordered the pesto chicken sandwich. The board said it came with tomato, spinach, cheese and that's about it. So I was expecting chunked roasted chicken breast mixed with pesto. What I got was deli-meat chicken breast slices on sourdough bread, panini style. Ok, so I could have asked about the chicken. I tend to avoid processed meats. But when the box was handed to me and it was warm on this very cold day, and I was ok with whatever was inside. (I didn't look until I got back to my desk.) The choice of bread was perfect, the pesto mayo was delicious, I don't know what kind of cheese they used, maybe Jack, maybe havarti? It was a good combo. Lots of spinach so I felt a little healthy eating it. The tomato was red but lacking flavor. Still, I enjoyed this sandwich and was happy with the service as well. Friendly folks who whipped up my sandwich quickly, but with care. I also had a small almond milk latte that was tasty--and a bag of chips. $20 bucks lighter, but those are the prices these days. I'll be back--want to try the soups. Oh, and if you can stay, there are cozy places to sit inside, and on a warmer day, lots of spaces outside by the fountain as well. read more

Had the tritip for $13, with garlic potatoes and broccoli as sides. Portion size was so-so. Feel like they ought to fill up the plate some more, since it's a cafeteria. Food came out quick, since it appears to be premade. There seem to be a lot of workers behind the counter. Beef was served about medium, plenty of pink in the center. The sauce had some kick to it. Broccoli was nicely roasted, though seemed a bit yellow. Potatoes were meh on the garlic. Help yourself to utensils and water. A-Ok lunch. Still love what they have to offer and the location is great. Staff and service is super friendly. Only down side was my steak was over cooked. Out of all the Roundhouse restaurants, this one is my favorite. Feels fresh and the complimentary cookie is a sweet treat! read more

Bishop Farms can best be described as "healthy bland". It's good for you, but is either unseasoned or never seasoned quite right. Generally I enjoy the plain and filling meals, but now I usually ask for no sauce - because let me tell you, that sauce is never balanced and never goes with the food. I do however love that they have a side of basmati rice as I usually just add that onto whichever meal I've ordered and most recently have started mixing it in with soup to give it some balanced flavor, since the soup is usually quite good. Once you've ordered (their menu changes slightly every month), you walk down and pay at the end. Seating is plentiful but we usually just sit outside and enjoy the local wildlife. Trays can be dropped off next to where you ordered from. All in all, Bishop Farms is well priced well and not too bad as long as you know what you're getting into. read more

I'm shocked at how good this place was. It's tucked in by the Bishop Ranch Lake, at the "Roundhouse". I've walked by many times, but finally came to try today! It's always very busy inside around lunchtime, as employees are on their lunch breaks. Cool that regular passerby can dine in/to go too! There's a huge amount of both indoor and outdoor seating, you'll always find a seat. Ordering process is pretty simple- order at the register, then show your receipt and pay when they call out your name. Our order took less than 5 minutes to prepare. The prices are amazing (for San Ramon, at least). We ordered a tri-tip salad and a tri-tip plate with broccoli and potatoes, with both meals being $12 each. The portion size is very large, and it's plated very gourmet, with a free cookie. The tri-tip was good, but pretty plain. Didn't bother me too much, I enjoyed mine with mustard, and the plate came with a yummy sauce. They didn't ask how we'd like it cooked, and it was pretty inconsistent. My salad's meat was mainly well-done, whereas the plate was more medium. Overall super impressed! The workers were all super nice, the meal was satisfying, and I couldn't be happier with the price and portion size. I'll be back to try the sandwiches! read more

Happened to be in the building around lunch time so we decided to eat here. I ordered a Vietnamese salad and hubby ordered a tri-tip sandwich. My salad was very bland and the sauce did not go with the dish. Sandwich and chips were really good and cooked perfectly. Lots of places to sit down either outside or inside. read more

The food here is simply not good - besides the broccoli and the tomato soup (and the occasional soup-of-the-week) are good. The ladies were informed by the man they can only do that for breakfast, it is breakfast at 10AM and that was what I was hoping was going to be my breakfast but no. No because someone apparently does not know how to tell time. If you won't allow people to order breakfast in the morning then don't list what I wanted on the overhead menu. I've been eating here every day for lunch this summer, and I am still impressed that the Steak Plate is under $10. It definitely tasted like it was more. Most days the steak is cooked to a perfect medium rare. Other days it is over cooked. Overall, it's more hits than misses. I've tried the Teriyaki Chicken plate as well as their Burger, and it's also a hit or miss. Ask for your burger bun toasted and it will taste a million times better. My friends enjoy the Tomato Bisque side soup, while I like the homemade potato chips or roasted potatoes. I find the salad sides too bitter to be enjoyable. The weekly specials are also a huge hit or miss for me. Some weeks I can't even eat it, while other weeks I can't get enough. All in all, Bishop Farms is overall the best choice in Roundhouse Cafe, but inconsistent quality! read more

I enjoyed the food here. Don't know why the average is so low, then again there's only a handful of reviews. Service is nice, staff is always pleasant. Best part is the price. Pork loins and two sides for 9 dollars is a great deal. I also enjoyed the tofu. Dine in and you'll have a nice view of the man made lake. read more

The BR1 location just opened yesterday 07/17/19 and their "system" is down. Can't even get a morning coffee. Two thumbs way down.

The food here is generally terrible and overpriced. All locations are similarly overpriced. The main location at the Roundhouse is only slightly better because it has a broader selection of mediocre and bad food, but a beautiful view. Too bad, because the facility is fantastic. They really need to find some food service folks that could make all of the locations really worth visiting. They have a captive audience which is probably the only reason they survive in this area. The setting outside is really a hidden gem, beautiful and almost feels like a vacation spot. But the restaurant, Bishop Farms, needs ALOT of work. The chicken and turkey aren't real, the flavors of the curry chicken wrap tasted like they forgot the curry, and everyone thought it tasted like hospital café food. The girl working the front and taking the orders looked super confused, and with a setting like that, and so many offices around, you shouldn't have to wait 20 minutes for a wrap. read more

You can't order breakfast online. Huge minus for people working in the building with a 15 minute break. The lunch menu not that great. I only order because I have a 30 minute lunch and can order online for LUNCH only. I'm sort held hostage by bishop farms if I need to order food. And the food is not that great at all. I only order salads now and the only one I liked is no longer on the menu. read more
