This bar is in the lobby of Springhill Suites Hotel on Yale Ave: Only guests can enter the building so don't try to stop in if in the area. We visited the bar twice during our week stay. First time was for dinner. There was an inebriated patron talking loudly about political issues an so we opted to get our dinner to-go. The barman was very attentive and offered us waters while we waited for our order, which took about 15 minutes or so. The burger was well cooked, seasoned w/s&p and juicy to a satisfying degree. Tater tots were a bit crunchy on the outsides and soft inside. Chicken wings (bone-in only) were 'not spicy' according to my heat seeking SO and come with a side of blue cheese dressing. Our second visit we had a local guest pop in for a visit and we sat at one of the tables to enjoy a catch-up over a beverage. Those two had one of the draft beers, I had a water. The barman this time was sitting in the breakfast room next door scrolling his phone (different barman from first visit). We could see him from our table and flagged him down. He assisted us, and the other guests, then returned to the breakfast room. Several people arrived throughout our visit and we let them know where to find him. Some ordered food, others were looking for drinks. Each time he came out of the breakfast room he checked-in with everyone, then returned. Seems we were bothering him too much as he eventually moved out of sight. The beer on tap was good and the food we tried was good. I'm guessing because guests are all in-house they don't have a 'no overserving' policy? Not sure if the second barman was having a personal issue, but he clearly did not want to be at work. Some days are hard. The lobby offers bar seating, a few of hi-tops, a couple of comfy seats by the window, two comfortable sofas and a gas fireplace to enjoy your drinks by. read more

This spot has horrible customer service. First off as you see the menu states they close at 10:00pm . I called this place through @SpringfieldMarriott hotels the young place done on hold for 7 minutes and 24 seconds and then when I called back she lied and said she said hello. Wrong my phone hand she hung up. When I called she transferred me to @Bistro on Yale where problem worsened. The person indicated I can no longer place a phone order mind you it is only 9:07 pm i asked why not and explained what happened but it clearly was not his problem and I'm assuming he wasn't trying to work or make his business any Money. Great little hotel restaurant. Surprising since most hotel restaurants are a little lacking. I don't usually review hotel food since they're, for the most part, a last minute resort or a product of laziness on a leisure trip, like this time around. I had their chowder and quesadilla to start and their ribeye steak to finish. All of them were wonderful. I would not have thought they were a simple hotel restaurant. Great food! Specially for Seattle where it rains all the time and us Californians would rather tuck ourselves in the hotel and sleep on a rainy day. So, definitely check the Bistro on Yale out, not as a last resort, but as actually part of your plans! :) read more

Located in the SpringHill Suites by Marriott this is a hidden treasure in South Lake Union. The food prices are very competitive, especially during happy hour. Drink prices are clearly where the money is made here but the drinks are good quality. All in all recommend this bar. read more

Bistro on Yale is a bit above average, as hotel bar/restaurants go. The apps are pretty big, almost enough for a meal. I tried the chicken wings, the crab-and-artichoke dip and the quesadilla. Each was tasty and filling. They have a good IPA on tap, too. I'd say the customer service was average. The young man behind the bar was somewhat attentive and not at all slow i.e. once we wandered over, acknowledged you and got your order, he would come back and make sure you were doing okay, but his attitude was kind of like, "well, yeah, I'm here, so what? Guess I can get you something". He had ESPN on each night, though, so no harm done. Assuming I stay at the SpringHill Suites again on a future trip, I'll be back. Otherwise, I wouldn't seek this place out. read more

After the recent remodel, this place has become somewhere that you can enjoy - as a hotel guest.....or just posing as one. :) Lunch is good..not the cheapest around the area, but its worth it for healthy portions and prepared well. Happy hour (as is my favorite for most places) is pretty good here. Their sliders with "chips" is recommendable for sure. Small seating area so not great for big groups. Nothing absolutely notable here...just another place to go. read more

Excellent Job...best lunch I've had in a long time. Mmmm, red curry and grilled chicken. Excellent job, beautiful presentation...a treat for the senses. This was the first time I've been in the Hotel since their extensive remodel. Well done on that as well. Not the predictable hotel decor...fresh, artsy and very Seattle. Service...the waitstaff and valet were very attentive and professional... what more can I say? An all around winner....sadly though, no room for dessert....next time. read more

My most limited review. I had a big lunch and wasn't very hungry. While at the bar, someone ordered fries. The smell was wonderful so I asked the other patron about the taste. After receiving a thumbs up response, I ordered my own order of potato heaven. New oil, perfectly done served with a side of ranch. Wow is all I can say. Best fries ever!! read more

Located within the SpringHill Suites hotel, they have it made - theres NO where else to eat within the walking distance - esp. in seattle at night -dont you dare ! I decided to give them a chance. Ordered: Chicken sandwich pesto, w/ fries on the side. I waited at the restaurant and decided to take it to my room and eat. The waiter for the restaurant , was also the bartender in the bar on the side - 1 man does it all ! lol. Burger was good, fries- cold as ice. I was too hungry and lazy to go back down and complain or cause any issue, but thinking how bad the fries where, I am here, on Yelp, saying my 2 words. Another bonus is the free breakfast buffet- I would say its one of the best by far. really good selection, waffle maker- the cinnonman waffles are the best !, orange juice, turkey sausages. read more

The Bistro on Yale is, in a word, impressive. The globally inspired entrees we ordered reflected the Chef's talent at creating a fresh, healthy, and tasty interpretation of traditional Asian and Latin street fare. I loved the Char Broiled Chicken Yakitori with Tare Dipping sauce and the perfectly balanced Chipotle Crab Bisque. My friends enjoyed the Grilled Corn Huaraches and the Asian rice bowl. You can tell that every ingredient is fresh and all of the sauces are made from scratch. Our favorite appetizers were the Dungeness Crab and Chorizo Empanadas in Puff Pastry and the Macadamia Nut Chicken Fritters with Sweet Garlic Sauce. The desserts we ordered were fantastic. The ones I want to go back for again and again are the Nutty Eskimo Pie, made with Mexican dark chocolate ice cream sandwiched in between homemade shortbread cookies that have been dipped in chocolate and topped with crushed peanuts and fresh whipped cream, the Tropical Carrot Cake with it's moist accent of fresh pineapple and a perfect citrus cream cheese frosting, and the delicately flavored Kahlua Mocha Brulee. The Bistro on Yale offers free valet parking to restaurant guests and everything on the menu is very reasonably priced. Need I say more? read more

We were staying at the Spring Hill suites Marriott. It was Fourth of July, we were tired and hungry and everything was closed. So we decided to eat at the hotel's restaurant. I really didn't expect much, but what we ordered was actually pretty good. we had chicken wings as an appetizer. We also ordered the spinach salad, which was a generous portion. It was light and very tasty. Our server was pretty attentive and friendly. Overall it was very good service. read more

My husband and I were staying at the springhill suites where this place is located. We decided to order room service from the restaurant because we were feeling lazy. At first glance the menu seems weird and unfocused. We were pleasantly surprised when our food arrived and looked delicious. Unfortunatly the only good, no GREAT thing we ate was the crab bisque. Awesome!! The rest of the food (chicken fritters, enchildas, and poke cups) were pretty average and unsatisfying. I would definitely eat here again for the bisque though. read more

The recent remodel at SpringHill Suites has given the hotel a major face lift. This was the precursor to them opening this restaurant. The executive chef, Tom, has put together an amazing fusion menu with influences from Asian to Mexican all with a health helping of seafood and a dash of Seattle panache! Within two weeks of the restaurant opening I had dined or had drinks there 4 times. It was that good! I would insist you try their chipotle crab bisque, which I've gotten almost every time. Other favorites I've had so far are the kobe teriyaki burger, crab and chicken enchiladas (with the most amazing sauce that Tom simmers for 24 hours), and the crab club wrap. Are you sensing a theme here? And don't miss their happy hour with recession-priced cocktails and depression-priced small bites! A great surprise tucked in the business districts of Seattle. The food is a fusion of Asian specialties and Mexican dishes. The lobster bisque was flavorful with real meaty chunks of lobster in cream. The mixed seafood over cilantro rice was fresh and the generous portions of crab, lobster, clams, mussels, prawns and halibut were perfectly steamed in a rich broth. The ultimate winner, however, is the Kahlua Mocha creme brulee - crispy shelled chocolate love! Eat your dessert first. ;) read more

I usually avoid the hotel restaurant but the rain and cold discouraged me from venturing out tonight. I got the signature clam chowder and house salad with balsamic dressing and it was really good. My hubby got a potato and gorgonzola soup snd salad. There wasn't a spec of food left on either of our dishes. Service is very good too. A couple of craft beers on tap. , at least one a local. Happy hour is 4 to 7. Pleasant atmosphere. We sat at the bar and watched the scene on the street behind. I might not travel here to eat if I lived here, but as a guest here on business/ pleasure, this was an enjoyable meal. read more

Great flavors and inventiveness. Some of the best food I have had BUT, inconsistent. I have ordered the same thing multiple times during an extended stay at the hotel and the meal seemed different. I ordered the salmon. The first time it was perfect- tender and melt in your mouth with a salty crispy skin. Later meals had a tasty sauce but was overcooked time after time. The desserts are delicious! If the meat on the burger and salmon was not overcooked most times despite asking for it to be cooked medium, it would have been 4-5 stars. I was surprised by the quality of the food at this little restaurant at the Springhill Suites. I had a rice bowl with grilled Mahi Mahi. It was really good. It was supposed to be like eating sushi, with pickled ginger, daikon, and wakame. Everything was prepared well, and the presentation was delightful. I truly enjoyed my meal. read more

Not bad for a hotel restaurant where there is only one person who handles the bar and room service. Seriouslly manager get them some help...at least with answering the phone front desk just kept transfering me over and i kept getting rerouted back to the front desk. The lobby isnt that large the front desk could have gone and looked before they kept transfering me. I got the burger is was fine but not well done. I dont think the front desk told them that when i ordered. The dessert was really good. read more

Wow! This neighborhood (mostly a business district) REALLY needed this restaurant! Sort of a Baja-Pacific Rim menu. So far have loved the ancho crab bisque, seared ahi-sticky rice platter and the crab and chorizo empanades. Absolutely disgusting. Apparently toasted pita is a flatbread, covered with so much lettuce that I thought they brought me a salad by mistake. The grilled asparagus is microwaved and has balsamic reduction poured on to "fake" grilling. Ugh. Eat at McDonalds instead of this. Seriously. read more

Staying at the Marriott Springhill Suites and had dinner at the hotel 's Bistro on Yale. It's small but very comfortable. The wine list is limited but of good quality. The menu has the typical wide range of bar appetizers and a good selection of salads, sandwiches and dinner entrees. I had the burger which was done as I asked. But the blue cheese salad dressing was clearly the worst I have ever encountered. Stay away from it. It had the consistency of heavy whipped cream which made applying it to the salad a chore. It had a sort of detectable blue cheese taste, but it did not have the usual strong blue cheese flavor - I could not figure out what else was in it. I mentioned to my waiter that I didn't care for the dressing, and he said he would check with the chef. I obviously didn't finish my salad. But that was the last I heard of it, and the waiter, who brought me a second glass of wine and the check, never had anything to say to me about the chef's reaction. So - bad salad and blown off by my waiter. read more
