Quaint cozy little spot. Welcoming staff and cool vibes playing in the background. Ordered the tuna tostada to start. 5 of 5. Great flavor. The tuna was good size pieces and tender. The avocado was ripe and creamy, and the whole thing had a great citrus taste but not overwhelming. Then it was the crab cakes. 3 out of 5. You could definitely taste crab, and the panko coating was light and well cooked. The two knocks here where the crab mixture was too closed texture and had a rubber like consistency with little flavor to it. Second, the part that was laying in the bowl got soggy because they where not properly drain of the frying oil, so the initial bite was soggy and filled with frying oil. This was the same issue with the corn tostada shells. You have to dry the oil off before serving to the guests, we will gladly wait an extra minute and a half to have a better experience. For my main meal I ordered the 5 spice Duck Ramen. Holy hell. I've been to 4 other Ramen joints in my neighborhood, and this is hands down the best Ramen I have had. The spices hit as different notes on the pallet. The duck was tender and fell right off the bone and was so delicious. The egg was cooked to perfection, the baby bok choy was still crisp. This was an amazing roller coaster of culinary enjoyment!!! 5 of 5!! To cap off, I orders a Thai Tea for Grown Ups. It's Thai Tea with gin and Baily's. First off you have to like Thai tea, if you don't then 1- you won't like this drink and 2- will you please for the love of God get some culture cause Thai tea is delicious. That being said... shit this drink is amazing, Thai tea to level 20. You taste the tea, you feel the gin and the baileys gets you on the end, you could smell the beauty of this drink as it was being delivered to the table. Jip was a great server, she explained the whole menu and the happy hour and even told me about the weekly specials, she was great. Overall this is a great spot. I will be back. A little gem hidden near Wrigley Field serving some of the most delicious Japanese influenced cocktails and small dishes in the area. So far, everything I have had has been either very unique or absolutely delicious or both! Had the soft shell crab sliders. Definitely got a unique sauce I've never had with any soft shell crab dish before. Let alone a slider. Definitely worth a try. Edamame gyoza. Hand made. YUM!!! Comes with a wasabi mayo and bourbon dipping sauce. Hot chef roll. If you like spice, this roll has got a nice lil kick from beginning to end. Spicy miso ramen. This one hit the spot. After a long night of drinking you either want some Vietnamese Pho or Japanese Ramen. This ramen was on point! Rich in flavor and just the right amount. I finished the entire bowl, broth and everything. Oh that egg too. Yolk was perfect. Pork was tender and juicy and fell apart in your mouth. If you're looking for a yummy deep fried roll, look no further than the lava roll. Crispy tempura battered outside topped with creamy spicy crab mix on top. I almost forgot. The spicy crab rangoons!!!! Lil poppers that fill your mouth with creamy goodness after you bite down on a crunchy flaky wonton wrapper. Get your own order. I didn't want to share mine after I popped the first one in. Cocktails...where to begin...I think I might have had literally every one or pretty close to it before I tapped out. Some of the most memorable ones would be the blueberry mojito. Very very refreshing and filled with fresh blueberries. "I'm sassy". Loved it because it had a nice kick to it that came from jalapenos and fragrant black pepper. Pink lotus. Supposedly one of their most popular drinks. A little on the girly side but it tasted yummy. I could use it as a chaser. Gentleman's wood and smoky blonde are their signature whisky/bourbon cocktails and they are both very savory and enjoyable. My go-to for most restaurants would be either a nice whisky neat or if they can make a nice old-fashioned. Both of these fit the bill. They also have a spicy soju cocktail called the "hot geisha" that is very tasty as well. Service is also on point. The servers are all pleasant and friendly and you can see them smiling as soon as you walk through the door. The service was great and drinks, great! It's a cute little spot with so much charm. So much potential. Only downside...the food. We ordered so many different dishes hoping the next one would be better but somehow they just kept getting worse. The Thai Asian noodles tasted like spaghetti noodles with peanut butter sauce. The hamachi was thick and did not look or taste fresh. Usually it's very thin and you can see the freshness, not here. Tried the sushi, that was actually not too bad. Not the greatest but possibly the best part of our meal. The buns are good.. again, not great but not horrible. But then again how do you ruin fried shrimp. We also got the pineapple shrimp, that also was not any better. It looked like shrimp thrown in with chunks of pineapples and bell peppers. There was no special taste to this. I will say the worst part were the noodles. They were so bad that I actually had to tell the sever that we could not eat them. She was so sweet and took them off our check (we only took two small bites). I have no problem spending $100 for a dinner, but when the whole thing is not good, I'm not happy about it. My friends and I came for half off ramen on Tuesday. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen with pork. When it came out, it looked delicious and then I started eating the pork and it did not look like it was fully cooked. I double checked with the waitress to see if she thought it was cooked and there was a slight bit of hesitation even though she reassured that it was fully cooked. I had another friend who also ordered pork and his was definitely less red than mine but we were highly suspicious whether it was fully cooked or not so we played on the safer side and chose not to eat it. Additionally, my friend's noodles were extremely over cooked and just became mushy. Everything was cooked inconsistently which is disappointing because the ramen kept up with other ramen places in the past. Came here for lunch during restaurant week. It's a 3-course meal for $22. Atmosphere: It's really fun and modern. There's lots of wood throughout the entire place and a good amount of seating. Service: The servers are extremely friendly and you can get their attention without any problem, but they're so attentive that you won't need to get their attention. They let us know that there were a couple big parties coming in, so in order to service us properly, the food might come out quicker than usual... and, boy, were they quick. I didn't get to eat my appetizer before my entree came out, but that's probably because I spent 10 minutes taking photos of our food and drinks. ‍ Food: I ordered the jumbo shrimp shumai, and they weren't kidding. It took me at least 2.5 bites for each shumai. It was very flavorful, especially with the whiskey soy dipping sauce. The spicy crab Rangoon was big AF. It's about the size of a bread plate! Also super good, especially when you dip it into whatever sauce is on the bottom! Our entrees were killer. Ordered the general's chicken sandwich with a side of honey butter chips, and the chicken & pandan waffles. Both were large orders! Hubby had to take a piece of chicken off his sandwich to make it more manageable. Unfortunately, they ran out of the chicken thigh, and replaced it was a chicken katsu. The pandan waffle was so flavorful, with a crisp exterior and a side interior! A+ waffle. The chicken was good, but it was just a little drying in texture when I ate it with the waffle. I'm hoping that next time I come back, they'll have the chicken in stock! Finished off our meal with the black rice pudding and the blueberry yuzu cheesecake. The cheesecake is mind blowing! The flavors are aggressive in just the right way! As for the black rice pudding, neither of us really cared for it. The rice was a little under done and had a grainy bite to it. Two words; BIG Bites. Don't let the name fool you, you'll come out with a food baby by the end of it. Overall I was super happy with my whole meal as well as the service. I went during dinner time, an hour after opening. It was a bit empty at first but after we were finished with our feast the place was packed with hungry guests and happy faces. I highly recommend the tiger steak and taro fries. If you're looking for long crunchy fries, then folks look no more. Not only are they great to poke your fellow neighbor across from you but they're fun to eat as well! ( please don't play with your food). As for the service, they were highly attentive and engaging. The interior design was super welcoming and comfy. The low lightening worked in my favor to hide my savage eating. I like so many of the items but specifically recommend the BBQ pork and the red curry endive. It's tapas style with some larger entrees but there's so many small plates that I I usually make my meal out of 2-3 smaller items. They have a full bar. I don't drink but they have cocktails and drink specials most days. There's a romantic fire place two seat table which I always wanna snag but literally never have timed it right :/ Chocolate chip cookie chopsticks dessert is great!!!! My favorite was the corn fritters and the avocado tempura bun. We ended up ordering too much for 2 people and took a good amount of it home. Our server was really nice and friendly. Food and drinks are priced very reasonably and serving size is big for tapas. Many great options to pick from. Ambiance was good and not too loud. Highly recommend it for a date night or a night with a big group! Only issue I had was that we had made a reservation a week in advance but when I called they said there was no reservation. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen here and I wasn't sure what to expect, but the broth flavor was actually really good. The noodles were a little hard and clumpy, but overall this was a good bowl of ramen. The only real issues were that they put huge clumps of ginger in the ramen, which I took out immediately so it didn't ruin the broth taste. After we had been seated, our server gave us a canteen of water, which is pretty smart that way she doesn't have to keep asking is if we want more water lol, just when we needed a refill! But overall, she was really sweet. She checked on us frequently. The food was super super good! We ordered garlic edamame, crab croquettes, crab fried rice (paella), crying amigo tacos, Korean sliders, taro fries, and roasted duck and avocado buns. We weren't disappointed at all, aside from the fact that there were only 2 croquettes, 2 sliders, and 3 (small) tacos. Prices were decent, but everyday from 5-7pm there are a select few items from the menu that are only $5! This is a fun Asian fusion small-plates spot. We took advantage of the happy hour BOGO and tried the taro fries and crispy shrimp cakes, both of which were quite good. The waitress also gave us a complementary Tuna Tostada, which I enjoyed despite the fact that I typically stay away from raw fish. In honor of the Thai New Year they were serving pad thai as a special, which was slightly on the spicy side for my taste (I don't believe they asked about spice level when we ordered), but still very good (and a huge portion, enough to take home half for later). As tends to happen with small plates, the price tag adds up quickly, but I would say the prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. read more

Sat down with the bae and ordered a plethora of food. **Korean sliders - intense flavor and pretty spicy but loved by both. **Taro Fries - **Samosas - you get six, they're pretty good. Not authentic but still delicious. **Chicken Katsu Bao - not as nice as some of the buns at the table but overall very appreciated. **Maguro Chefs Nigiri - definitely don't dip it in the soy, the truffle sauce speaks for itself and compliments the fish **Maki Fresco - I got the unfortunate pleasure of getting the hottest part of the pepper in my piece, but my partner loved this roll and aside from my lack of spice tolerance I really enjoyed this. **White Sangria and wine are decent!
