Foot bridge is cheaper if you buy the combo outside of the lunch special hour compared to lobster shack. If you buy during lunch hour, they both are about similar in pricing. FOOD: The biggest difference between the two was TEXTURE. Footbridge offered a bouncy/chewier texture while Lobster Shack offered a softer easier to pull apart lobster. Secondly, the bread is slightly smaller at footbridge but the meat is 5oz almost singular piece versus lobster rolls multiple smaller pieces. Clam chowder was similar in the sense that footbridge had a thicker milkier consistency like most New England clam chowder while Lobster shack had more meat/substance but thinner liquid base with a somewhat coconut type taste. Both lobsters and clam chowder are unique and tasty in their own way and all boils down to preference. At this moment in time, I prefer footbridge for the lobster roll and the clam chowder at lobster shack. I gotta be honest here, I ordered the giant lobster roll hot and with butter and I couldn't even tell if butter was used or not. I think my main issue is how dense the roll is, at some point I had to just start taking the lobster off since the bread was so thick. Overall, Bull N' Claw is a solid seafood restaurant in a state built on sea food restaurants. I totally get why my parents love this place, but the lobster roll itself was pretty bland compared to other ones I've had in the area and I probably won't be returning on future trips to New England. Some were, some weren't. But fortunately, Big Daddy's were! And to prove it, there was one helluva healthy line of customers waiting to get their frozen fix in a cup or a cone. They have around 50 ice cream flavors, plus some sorbets, sherberts, and yogurts. We were so intrigued by one of their flavors that we both ordered it. I mean, c'mon, when have you ever seen Banana Chocolate Chip on a menu? It was excellent. Smooth and creamy with a definite banana flavor and plenty of chocolate chips. A Kiddie portion was a pricey $6.95, but in all fairness, that Kiddie portion was equal in size to some of the "small" scoops we've had over the years at various ice cream joints. Big Daddy has four locations in the Wells, Ogunquit, and Kennebunkport area, so if you're up this way during the summer, you won't be too far from experiencing an experience with Big Daddy!
