Came in as a group of 3 at 10pm on a weekday. The restaurant itself was pretty crowded but there was no one in the waiting area so we thought that the wait wouldn't be that long. We were told that our wait was going to be about 20-25 minutes due to have only 2 servers for the eating area, which was fine with us. We ended up waiting closer to 40 minutes with no updates throughout from the staff until we had to go up ourselves and ask about how much longer we had to wait. We eventually got seated around closer to 11pm. We were there mainly for the pizookies but also ordered other items off the menu, such as the brewhouse bites sampler and the deep dish ziti. Pizookie itself satisfied the sweet tooth cravings but the other dishes were fairly subpar. Would go here again only if I had cravings for the pizookies. Our server however was very nice and attentive. She checked in with us very often to see how things were going and if we needed anything. Food itself also came out fast (around 10-15 minutes). However the wait time was very off putting, especially that late at night. We ended up spending a bit over 2 hours at the restaurant, half of which was pure waiting.

Yesterday was my daughter's birthday, so we decided to celebrate at BJ's. With no prior reservation, we arrived at 8 p.m. as a party of 8. The in-laws were in attendance. The wait was reasonable given our party size, and believe it or not, there were quite a few people dining. I wish they had a separate area for larger parties that didn't involve seating us in the middle of the walkway, but what other choice did they have? Our waiter started off strong. He greeted us, gathered our drink and appetizer orders right away. We were saddened to hear they discontinued their root beer wings (a family favorite), so we opted for their peppered BBQ wings as well as the lemon pepper wings. Both were bone-in. Although they weren't as good as the root beer wings, we all agreed the peppered BBQ wings were the better of the chosen appetizers. I ordered my usual jambalaya ( it's a safe choice) along with a side of the honey sriracha Brussels sprouts. My F-I-L ordered the pork chop with mash and asparagus. My S.O. ordered prime rib (medium-rare) mash and asparagus as well. Of course, there were others at the table, but those are the three entrees I'm going to focus on. The food arrived before our table was cleared. The table was never cleared until the end. A pet peeve that will ruin a pleasurable dining experience is being rushed to order, entrees arriving without the appetizer plates being cleared, and being thirsty without water or the waiter in sight. We were victims of all three. As you can imagine, we are already a large party, so space as well as movement were limited when placing the food on the table and indulging. The jambalaya is my safe choice for a reason. Despite how bland I found it to be, it was still edible. The honey sriracha sprouts were a great mix of sweet and spicy with a little crunch to it. It was my favorite part of my meal. The pork chop looked amazing and was well plated and sized nicely, my F-I-L did however complain that it was also bland, we joked that the asparagus were so thin we called them shoelace asparagus, too emaciated to enjoy. As for the prime rib, it was prepared medium rare as requested and devoured though again it was found to be rather bland in flavor. As we went around the table eating our meals, my daughter's baked potato received the highest rating of an 8.4/10. The Pork chop was rated a 7/10, the Prime Rib was an 8/10 and my jambalaya was a solid 7/10. The waiter refilled water for two out of the 8 of us without having to be asked immediately after the food was delivered, in spite of the other cups being visibly half empty. We waited quite a bit for the waiter to return to offer to go containers and take our dessert orders, at this time our table still hadn't been cleared. At this point we have appetizer plates, dinner plates, to-go containers all on the table as the dessert arrived. It wasn't until the birthday pizookie was placed on the table, that the table was cleaned. Around this time we also noted that the door directly adjacent to the table was being opened and closed often resulting in an uncomfortably cold breeze disrupting our enjoyment. With a table full of all the things, and a breeze that gave winter and food that didn't quite meet our standard, we were ready to leave and so we did. The food and service quality has left much to be desired so it will likely be a while before we visit again.

We're finally done with our SF assignment, and I'm so glad to be outta there, with all that traffic and crowds and high prices. Back in the East Bay now and it time to get some lunch. BJ's Brewhouse still has the $13 Pizookie specials. I've had these before at other locations and really thought they were a great deal and very tasty! This location is right off Contra Costa Blvd. in the Sun Valley Mall. Just turn in and park in front. It's so nice to have a big parking lot compared to that disaster in SF! We get seated and drink orders taken. I got the $13 Pizookie special with the Classic topping personal deep dish pizza. You have a bunch of other choices, even a burger, but I think the deep dish is the best deal, cause it comes with a salad as well. All of the Pizookie specials come with a mini Pizookie dessert of different flavors. That mini size is plenty of dessert, yep it's super sweet if you're one of those people that needs to watch their sugar intake. Three outta the four on my crew get the deep dish pizza option. It was a little while for them to come out. We got the salads first and I gotta say the side salads are decent sized here for sure. The pizzas seem small in diameter, but they're real thick and not just all thick with bread but all the toppings! We all finished with that Pizookie dessert and I had the strawberry and cream version, I was actually pretty damn tasty. I'd come back to BJ's of any location as long as they keep this Pizookie deal going!

Came here for happy hour a couple of weeks ago. The bartender was super friendly and constantly checked in on us. Margaritas were great. We also got some wings and a personal pizza. I loved the all meat personal pizza. Loved all the toppings! Good deal on happy hour!!

I had low expectations walking in as I saw two of the staff sitting on a bench at the front door smoking vapes. A complete turn off and such a sanitary situation. They walked in with us, looking back as I mentioned the fact they shouldn't be smoking at the door. Aaron was our server. He was very attentive and friendly. Took our order and it was accurate. The food was good and fresh. Pizza was cheesy and crust was buttery. Pepperoni galore. Salad was delicious and full flavor. The pizookie- triple chocolate chunk- so good. Overall, a good experience. We will be back

Always wanted to try out their $13 pizzokie meal deal, so I finally had time to give it a shot. I ordered via online, so it would be a lot easier for me to pick it up once I arrive at the Mall. Smash Burger: It was a pretty decent burger for the price. There were two patties smashed together, along with the normal fixings of cheese, produce and pickles. It was not too greasy nor too oily. The sauce was not overwhelming either, so the bun was able to keep its form. The fries were a bit of a letdown. It was crispy but I fed the amount I got was a lot less than what I would get if I dined in. Salted Caramel Pizzokie: I chose this as my little dessert. Everything comes separate, so you can assemble it at home. It was a lot of ice cream for the little cookie, but it was absolutely delicious. Definitely taste the salt and the caramel counter balances it for the sweetness. The chips were also a good texture. Overall, I can see myself ordering here again, especially for the pizzokie deal.

Overall pleasant experience during a short visit solely for a dessert and a to-go food. BJ's restaurant and brewhouse is located at SunValley Shopping Center, just outside by the parking lot and no need to go inside the mall itself. This place reminds me of Applebees or Outback steakhouse and similar places vibe. The front person is somehow not attentive, no greetings nor us asked why we are there, we had to ask him and say for two to be assisted and seated. I finally had the opportunity to taste the mouth watering pizookie, we had the salted caramel pizookie and chocolate chunk pizookie, and delectable chicken parmigiana dinner. The server Jade is amazing and helped us all throughout the short visit. Out food arrived in a timely manner, a little bit wait is expected as it is a Sunday I assume. They have a bar, also have an outdoor seating. Overall it's a good experience and would like to come back and try the weekday deals.

When my friend and I decided to meet at BJ Brewhouse, we forgot it was a holiday. Much busier than usual during the noon hour. Apparently at least one server had not shown up and that added to the delay in being seated. We ended up in the bar area by the window. Our server was extra busy and it was hard to flag her down as we were quite a distance from her work station. Our food was fine. My friend enjoyed her clam chowder in a bread bowl. The top of the bowl had been sliced into a small piece and toasted. I had a bite and it was delicious. My friend also ordered hot tea. No choice on tea was offered and she ended up with two bags of chamomile. That selection was fine with her but quite odd that a black tea was not offered. I had the vegetarian BJ Brewhouse Bowl. (Also available with chicken, shrimp, or salmon.) Love the combination and quite filling. One of the more economical lunches (aside from the lunch specials.) Overall BJ's has a good menu. Something for almost every taste. Pazookies are not my favorite so it would be nice to have another dessert option other than a scoop of ice cream. BJ Brewhouse is looking a bit "tired" ... which can be said of all of Sunvalley. But it still is a decent option when in the area. I'll be back ... despite my three star rating. Food is four stars, but atmosphere and service lower.

Came to BJ's twice and each time the service exceeded expectations. The staff here are friendly, attentive, and quick. BJ is also kid/family friendly. The food, in particular the smash burger is surprisingly good. I always just thought BJ was known for its pizza and pazooki, but the burger is nothing to sneeze at. It's very flavorful, well proportioned, and hits just right. The fries are also crispy on the outside and moist on the inside - very addictive. Will definitely come back and recommend for a family outing.

Went for our 27th anniversary, and the experience was amazing. I ordered a somewhat-complicated manhattan that wasn't on the menu and our server Justina made it happen! She was super accommodating with my wife's tree nut allergy as well which was so refreshing, since not a lot of restaurants nowadays look out for the little guy. We ordered the Mac&cheese balls for starters, and my prime rib was cooked great as well, compliments to the kitchen! The music was a bit loud but thankfully it was good music :-) definitely another great anniversary on the books because out or server! You rock Justina! -Rich.

What a joke ! Who is running this place? After they screwed my delivery order up, which I ordered through their website. Supposedly my order was cancelled 45 min after I ordered it due to there being no more tritip! I called and spoke with a manager. I told him, you already charged my credit card and charged me for delivery , but I was hungry so I said I'd come pick the order up. Now they have tri tip available again an hour later. That's funny! He told me my order got cancelled because there was no tri tip. Anyhow, I drive down there to get my order, the guy in front seemed brain dead . I told him my name and I was picking up a takeout order. I sat there waiting 15 min and he says , duhhh what's the name for the order again? I give him my name again and he grabs the bag that was sitting there the whole time I'd been waiting. I get home and look in the bag and there is no salad , the baked potato has nothing on it , not how I ordered it and the tri tip was like chewing on a piece of leather. Top it all off and my pazooli cookie is missing the ice cream. Do these people even care to try and get someone's order right? I work hard for my money and to have it wasted on an order that was all wrong and thrown together half ass really pisses me off. So after reading the reply from the business owner below , to contact them at their email which I did , and never heard back from them. I didn't think I would !

Hello. My friends and I were at Bjs yesterday, June 11th at around 8 pm when the mall closed. We were a group of 4 teenage girls and felt like we were getting mistreated because of that. Once we arrived we had to wait about 15-20 minutes which is fine we didn't mind that. When we were seated one of the servers who is a little bit on the shorter side and wore glasses threw us three coasters when there were four of us and said "'ll be back to take your guys's orders." About 15-20 minutes go by and no sign of any workers to take our order. When we were helped by a different sever we ordered drinks and our pizookies together since that's all we were there for. Another 15 minutes go by, no drinks in sight and not even another coaster. After about 45 minutes we get our drinks and then soon after we got out pizookies but, one of them were wrong so the servers brought it back to the kitchen. My friends and I asked for some plates and a couple more spoons and when we were given them, one of the plates were dirty with pizza grease and some sort of pizza toppings. (i'll insert a photo below) We ate the first pizookie in about 10 minutes and waited for our second one for about 20 minutes. While we were eating, we weren't checked up on at all but the tables around us were. When my friends and I were ready to pay we scanned the qr code on our table and found out it didn't work. So, we tried to get one of our servers attention to get the check but we were completely ignored. Once the check was brought we waited another 20 minutes for our server to come pick it up. I understand restaurants can get busy but, at around the time we were there it wasn't that busy at all. My friends and I noticed that all the tables around us were getting served and checked up on regularly and we weren't. After we left we had called the restaurant and were put on hold for the manager. When they answered it instantly hung up. We called again and talked to one of the managers didn't seem to care. We have gone to this location before and it was perfectly fine. I just wanted to come on here and warn people that my friends and I did not have a good experience here yesterday.

BJ's is killer when it comes to pizookie. The Concord location has pleasant people working there. Dining at BJ's is always a great time, sports, beers, mozz sticks, can't go wrong. The biscoff pizookie was not as overwhelming as I expected. It was crispy and warm. The ice cream combo was spot on.

Wow how it pains me to say that this chain of restaurants has gone down in quality and value. I mean if you want to come in for drinks sure but the foods is atrocious. I ordered a Santa Fe salad I mean how are you gonna mess up on a salad? But the chicken tasted disgusting. It tasted like old Burt frying oil. The dressing had no flavor. We ordered a flatbread pizza and the crust tasted like it was one of those frozen pizzas. The avocado egg rolls over fried and burnt. Our waitress was nice but as far as the restaurant it was nasty. We had flies bugging us and flying all over the whole time. read more

This restaurant has really gone downhill. The service is very, very slow, and they aren't very service oriented. We were sitting in a booth in the bar and the built-up dirt on the lights is disgusting. The menus had old food stuck to them. Really sad because it's close to home for a quick dinner out. read more

Why have a gluten free/ gluten sensitive menu if the items actually are cooked with flour and can't be modified? The kitchen confirmed the broccoli cheddar soup has gluten (flour) in it and so does the artichoke dip (with veggies instead of bread)? Disappointing. read more

Ordered food for delivery. Waited an hour and 45 minutes. Called to see what was going on and was told the driver had just left. Fast forward another hour. I call again inquiring as to where the food is. I am told it was probably delivered. I assured the woman that it had in fact not been delivered. (Yes I was polite, I'm familiar with the industry and anger does not help you in any circumstance) I asked for a refund as it had been over three hours. I was told to deal with Yelp customer service, which I'm not sure exists? Idk, don't do delivery. The follow up is shite. read more

Came here during happy hour to watch the NFL draft and were served by Jose C during our visit. He was an AMAZING waiter. So attentive, friendly, thorough. He made sure our order was exactly as we wanted it and our time there was well spent. You can tell he is juggling so many things at once, but keeps his composure the whole time, is super friendly and continued to check in on all the requests we had. The food was good, and the pizookie was great (like always), but honestly the thing that stood out the most was Jose's service and professionalism. Would hope to be served by him the next time we come to BJ's! read more

BJ's is usually a solid choice, but something was really wrong tonight. Maybe it was because of the holiday weekend?? There was no sauce for shrimp scampi, no ahi, no brussel sprouts (which was ok by me). I ordered a Nashville hot chicken sandwich and it was shocked to see that the chicken was two thirds the size of the bun. Geez it was small. Then my pizookie and my son's were burnt on the bottom. The server was really busy I guess because getting his attention was difficult. I won't give a 1 star because food was still edible, but the experience was plain bad. I will avoid patronizing BJ's in the future. Look elsewhere for a better value. read more

Update: 6/8/21. This place has not change. It is better even though we are in an pandemic, the food is great! My family went there for my son's 8th grade promotion and Taylor our server was a great host and was well informed of the food items "on sale" during the week. Food hot, drinks good, good place to be at! read more

Original plan was Lucille's BBQ until we saw it had been taken down, so sad. We decide hey, BJ's ain't too bad let's do it. Confusing from start to finish. Made an online reservation the day of and checked in, still made my party (3) wait for 20-30 more minutes...then we get seated near the bar, fine. Worst birthday dinner ever. Music was so terribly outdated..LOUD, we couldn't hear ourselves think, let alone talk to one another without the whole restaurant hearing. Waitress was so dismissive, we asked her to wait a few more seconds to take our drink orders (we said yes to water) LOL. Water comes and everyone hates it, tasted dirty...we decided nvm on the waters. Food of course took forever to come out but not before we get a switch in waitresses for a second. Food comes, it's alright. We're just trying to be optimistic now. Definitely not what it used to be, not even for nostalgia sake at this point. So our first waitress comes back and starts serving a brand new table that had just been seated, but it wasn't even hers, so the two end up arguing about who's serving who...meanwhile we're still waiting on our napkins and condiments. We end up having to flag down the manager to grab us some after 30 mins of waiting thank u The chaos doesn't end there. We're ready for the check. We receive it...I look and ITS A QR CODE PAYMENT with a $20 tip already added to it. This was 4 months ago and Yelp asked me how my experience was, if I went..I decided this time hey, the people should be warned. Never again will I come back to this place. We ordered thru doordash, stated 40 to 55 mins. A hour goes by and our dasher was still there waiting. I called just to find out our order was given to another dasher. It took 2 hours for us to get our food. From the time we ordered and received our food. What's worse while eating my salmon. A piece of sausage was found with it. Which we don't eat. Was seriously craving a pizookie and found out about the $3 pizookie deals on Tuesdays from a friend. I've never been so excited for a Tuesday! Not surprising BJ's only has a 3 star overall rating. I'm giving them a 1 star! When I walked in I asked to seat outside because my friend is pregnant and is super cautious due to Covid. I was told I couldn't sit outside but I believe the manager told the hostess I could and she told me she'd call me when my table was ready (keep in mind it's 11 o'clock and there isn't a single person on the patio. I asked to sit outside and wait and I went to the bar to get a water. Our waitress was super nice and took our order but she wasn't attentive ( but I understood that it was going to be like that) I ordered an appetizer of guacamole and chips and salsa. There was barley any salsa and the guacamole was a plain avocado smashed up. There was no seasoning and I was awful. I ordered fish tacos and they were horrible! There was no fish and it was slaw with a ton of sauce that was over powering everything. I basically had a slaw tortilla. My friend had the chopped salad and she said it wasn't as good as normal. All and all I don't recommend eating here! read more

I want to give our server 5 Stars - Julie (I believe). First of all Friday was her first day of work, we were her 5th table to wait on. She had the best smile and was so sweet and kind. But I really want to say you guys did her no favor by leaving her to do this first day of work job alone. She should have had someone shadow her. Just to name a few, out of 4 menus she took two and left two on the table. We had to ask the cook to take them when food was delivered. She forgot one water. Almost forgot the bread we ordered. and several other things that could make a huge difference for someone who wanted to be rude to her at the moment. We overlooked it all because we knew she was learning. But if some rude person wanted to made a huge scene at the restaurant - it's Managements Fault!!! Do your server a favor and shadow her so she can SHINE!! One more thing: Get a schedule for your restroom cleanup!!! it's disgusting!! read more

Went to BJs today. I have not been in about 4 years. We had a good experience. It was about noon and it was not packed. We were seated within 5 min. The hostesses were very kind. We ordered the calamari and the spinach dip for appetizers. Yummy! I ordered a Tito's lemonade that was quite watery but it wasn't terrible. Our waitress was so kind and knowledgeable! Thanx a bunch to Martha ! For dinner I ordered the jambalaya! It was spicy but very good!!! my teenager ordered a sandwich that she really enjoyed. And my son ordered the mini hamburgers off of the kids menu and we had our two year-old that enjoyed the corndog kids meal. We were very pleased with the presentation and the taste of the food. The restaurant was clean while we were there. I don't have any complaints about that. The bathroom was clean as well. I think the price points are pretty good. They were what I was expecting. Since Covid everything is so different. Was feeling really hungry and thought we would give our side dining a try. First order food was extremely burnt and had no flavor. Second time around a little flavor burnt and cold. I'm over it terrible service from the manager. Seemed uninterested in really trying to get things together for the customer. I had an unpleasant experience on a Sunday night. I had a reservation for 6:45, but checked in early at 6:00 and understanding that I was early, I checked in with the host. The host said that it was no problem and I was told that we'd be seated in 20 minutes. Instead of walking at the mall or playing at Round1, we gladly waited in anticipation for our Pizookie. 35 minutes later, I asked for an update and was told we'd be seated in another 15-20 minutes. So, checking in early did nothing, and was lied to by the host. I would've been more okay being told that they wouldn't have seated us until the reservation at 6:45 so that we could've done something else, but instead were filled with false hope. We had our appetizer order taken quickly (great!), but when the appetizers came out, we had no utensils for 5 minutes! Our brussels sprouts were cold and we found a hair in it. Avocado rolls were fine though. After we finished our appetizers, we ordered our food and waited 45 minutes to an hour for things to come out. I could have gone on a shopping spree or won plushies while waiting during this time. Or even better, I could have ordered food for the table while waiting to be sat when I initially checked in! Usually good things to come to those who wait but not this time: 1. Somebody from my party ordered a burger with some sort of sauce, and when it came out, there was a layer of crust on top of the sauce. It wasn't anything bad or malicious, it just means that the plate of food had been sitting out for so long under a heat lamp, the sauce began to dry out. This means this plate did not have to wait 45-60 minutes to be sent out. 2. Another person from my party had ordered a salmon dish. This individual is very sensitive to salt and oh my god I swear I could've tasted the atlantic ocean in that fish. 3. Rice pilaf was straight up uncooked and honestly tasted like rubber. I don't even know what was wrong with it, I genuinely wish I could provide feedback here but all I know was that it was uncooked and something about it tasted like rubber. For a price point of $40 a head, I expect a little better. I do not think we will ever be back for a large party dinner ever again. Though, if this place somehow remains open, I will be back, with 1-3 people MAX, waltz into the OPEN seating area (which apparently has no waitlist and you get the same service as if you waited 60 minutes), order my pizookie, and leave. read more

We definitely caught ourselves commenting a few times that we had an impressive server. The food was delicious and prepared just as ordered. We have a tendency to have all sorts of special requests for our food to fit dietary requirements and everything came out perfectly. This restaurant is located right in Sunvalley Mall right besides Round1, this could be a bad thing if you have kids like I do. We decided to come here because they're having $10 off $40+ orders per table which end June 14th. If you plan to go there before than, go to their website to print the coupon or download the app to show your server the coupon which you don't need to print. Waited about 15 mins to be get a table, not bad Monday night holiday for party of 4. Our waiter was nice guy and quick to response but his sub when he went to break/lunch was not so stellar, granted it was her 2nd day but I'm also assuming it's her 1st waitress job. I asked for to go box and the check but she came back only with the check and that took 20 mins to get the check with no to go box. I have asked 2x for the to go box and still not delivered. At this point, I left the tip field blank and my wife asked me why you're not filling in the tip and i told her, i'm waiting for my to go box and the length of time i get the to go box will dictate the amount of tips i will write, it was that bad for her. She should of not been working at such big restaurant for her assuming 1st waitress job. But luckily our original waiter brought back the to go box within a minute. Ok so let's get to the actual food review. We order Fried Calamari for appetizer, Clam Chowder in bread bowl, Santa Fe salad, Kid's Fettuccine Alfredo and Kid's Burger. Fried Calamari needs better flavor on the batter because it didn't have enough taste, luckily it comes with marinara sauce and tartar sauce but then now all you can taste is the sauce. Clam Chowder in bread bowl, the chowder is average, I mean it's not Boudin Clam Chowder. The chowder is not too thick and not too watery. However the bread bowl is awesome, they actually toast the whole bread bowl which give it extra crunchiness eating with the chowder. Santa Fe salad was good size, not single serving that's for sure. My wife and I share the salad with some left over, it's that big. It has a really good mix flavor with added cajun powder scattered around the salad which gives it a little hint of spicy which is great. Kid's fettuccine and burger was just average, nothing special about them. again, we went here because of the $10 off $40+ order, otherwise we wouldn't have come to this restaurant. read more

How can you not like this place? Full bar, tons of menu options and if you have room for a dessert, you better order a pizookie. Which is a cookie in pie form with ice cream!!!! I absolutely love the brussels sprouts with sriracha sauce appetizer. Pizza is the primary thing I order from here and I've had no complaints. One of my fav's is the chicken alfredo pasta. AMAZING!!! As far as the pizookie, I get traditional chocolate chip with vanilla ice cream but if you're sharing, I recommend getting the 3 in 1. You can get 3 different cookie flavors for those who cannot decide on just one flavor. The casual atmosphere is great for all ages, but kids cannot sit at the bar area. Can get really crowded on the weekends as it is attached to Sun Valley Mall. read more

This was a small "great white (deep dish) pizza"... almost $19 and I had to reheat it. It's not on pizza dough, more like left over bread from the tables with some sauce and a waxy thin layer of cheese..Chicken? What chicken? More like chicken bites from 2 days ago.. super disappointed. We also go the nachos as an appetizer and it was cold af, a pile of chips with some cheese. Again... had to reheat it. My son got food poisoning from the concord BJs from undercooked chicken. He bit into his sandwich and noticed a slight pink, asked the server to take it back, she brought a fresh cooked sandwich but the taste was a little off my son said. He ate some of it then woke up to severe stomach pains, vomiting and diarrhea. Horrible way to spend your 4th of July in bed sick and unable to eat or hold down liquids. There were some new items I came across, so I had my work cut out to limit my newfound desires. Ultimately, we ordered a few appetizers and some entrees, although some served cross purposes! We started with some boneless Ancho BBQ wings, truffle fries, onion ring tower, cheese curds, and then moved on to chicken nachos, a couple of kids' pepperoni pizzas, a shiitake garlic noodles, a Gardein adult mac 'n' cheese, and a BBQ bacon burger. The apps are quite large here, more so than I expected, and the cheese curds were a favorite along with the wings. The onion rings disappeared as well, but the consensus was they weren't up to Red Robin quality; they were good, just different with the parmesan. The truffle fries were garlicky, which I loved, and shiitake garlic noodles, although listed as an app, were my entree, and they were amazing! Very tasty, with lots of mushrooms and a garlic presence that was not overpowering. Would definitely get it again! The Gardein mac 'n' cheese was large as well, with lots of Gardein chicken in almost every bite. But the nachos - they were enormous! So big that the guy who ordered them didn't even try his BBQ bacon burger; that went home for a later meal! And the kids' pepperoni pizzas were also large, and with fries, were easily an adult meal as well. And we took home almost a whole pizza! Too many good apps filled most of us up before the entrees arrived. The service was great, the food great, the ambiance great, and I look forward to trying more Gardein options. If you are looking for tasty and hearty vegetarian options, look online first, for the website shows the Gardein options in their own section. On the printed menu, these same items are listed below the "regular offerings" as an option, and so it is difficult to find them and know what Gardein options are available for different items. I have nothing against animals, but I don't think that level of contact with a dog is appropriate while actively working and serving customers. But customer service needs a serious rebranding. I have never had a good in person/over the phone experience. Their food speaks for itself, but the customer service skills really takes away the value of a local business that has been around for years. I had heard so many great things about BJ's that I couldn't wait to go and try out their signature burger and their Ultimate Long Island. But there were too many things wrong with my experience: Strike 1: I tried their signature BJ's Burger with additional bacon, and the sandwich is served on a toasted garlic french roll instead of a traditional hamburger bun. Oddly enough, I didn't taste any garlic at all while biting into the roll. I had asked for my burger to be cooked medium-rare, and it was served medium-well. (At least the wedge-cut seasoned fries made up for the burger's lack of flavor and juiciness!) Strike 2: I was a bit disappointed in their Ultimate Long Island Iced Tea. It was watered down and had a dark amber color instead of the light blond color it should have. Lo and behold, with my first sip, my taste buds were assaulted with the sweet taste of PEPSI instead of the signature Coke. It also had notes of orange and other things that I do not believe should be in anything called a Long Island. (After drinking it, I looked up the ingredients online and realized that it is created with vodka, gin, rum, orange liquer, sweet & sour and Pepsi instead of the classic vodka, tequila, rum, gin, triple sec, sweet & sour, and Coke.) The mixture they serve is definitely NOT recommended. Strike 3: The area in which we were seated was facing a window at sunset. As the sun set behind the building, it suddenly came into view and the waitstaff could not adjust the blinds in any fashion to prevent the searing white light from blinding us as we ate. Apparently, part of the blinds above the window cannot be adjusted. Anyway, the burger and the "Long Island" cost me $30. I guess the only good thing was that the Dallas Mavericks won the NBA championship while I was there! NOTE: The floors are extremely slippery, so make sure you are wearing a decent pair of non-slip tennis shoes or boots that are made with recycled radial tires. Don't say I didn't warn you. read more

Stopped by BJ's in Concord with a party of 10 to watch the FIFA final (1:0), and it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences we all had in a loooong time. We were seated around noon on a Sunday, right before the game started, got served, and then... nothing. We've ordered another round and some more finger food ..... NOTHING! We waited well over 30-40 minutes without drinks or food. Eventually we found out our server, Elizabeth, had gone on her lunch break during peak hours with no proper coverage. We literally had no server. We had to ask the manager to step in just so we could get some drinks and place orders. Every server we tried to politely flag down acted like we were bothering them. One even pointed toward the packed bar and basically said, "Until all those people at the bar get served, you're not getting your drinks." That's not something you expect to hear when you're already sitting at a table waiting forever. When Elizabeth came back, instead of apologizing, she gave us attitude and told us not to order through any other server except her!!! After everything that had already happened, that was pretty frustrating. On top of that party over 10 yet 18% gratitude by default. Really?!? with managers help - not this time! To be fair, the food itself was fine. Nothing amazing, but it wasn't overcooked and everything came out decent. The dessert with the three little pie bowls topped with different ice cream flavors was actually kinda cool. BJ's still has a solid beer selection, and the beer was fresh as always. 2 this time where should've been 1. Unfortunatly, good food and good beer can't make up for service this bad. The complete lack of communication, poor planning, and dismissive attitude from the staff ruined what should've been a fun afternoon. can i emphasize how obvious it is that this business is only out to make money with only interest of themselves and not their customers? let me begin... when i was sat, i was sat literally within inches of another dining customer. all of the tables were soo clustered together that there was no breathing room. i could hear everything in full vivid detail of what the people next to me were talking about without trying to eaves drop. now lets talk about the food... i ordered a steak. it was so chewy, i couldn't even hardly swallow the thing without thinking i was going to choke. i ordered a beer. it was a simple 12 oz. fat tire they they had the audacity to charge me $6.25 for. thats straight rape! sorry. i understand that you all want to charge as much as possible and try to keep the tab up so that the servers get a grip of tips being %20 of the bill, but they honestly dont deserve it for the lack of work they do for the over priced menu, when there are food runners, and bus boys doing most of their job. the servers wear a "professional attire" with their white button up collars and their attitude of being so sophisticated, its such a joke. anyway.. my biggest prob was having to sit next to people without any space between us. how freaking tacky! just cram us in there and roll in those bucks guys!! ... most def not about their customers. BJ's feels very much like a gigantic sports bar. It probably is. I joined a friend for Happy Hour here on Thursday. We walked in a bit early (nearly 4pm) and headed straight for the bar. Our bartender was energetic, helpful and very knowledgeable about all their draft beers....and trust me there's a lot! I like when places give you samples to try before you buy. She definitely helped us out there...I was able to sample a "Nutty Brunette" and a "Jeremiah Red." Gotta go with the red for round 1. After talking and drinking, I realized that I was starting to feel a bit loopy and ordering food would be the best idea. Mini Pizzas were 1/2 off, and so of course we had to get one: Margherita Mini deep-dish pizza. Not salty, felt a bit light yet filling enough to eliminate the buzz. That can't happen so we decided to order another round...this time she let us sample the Lindeman's Framboise, and a pear sparkling cider (sorry, didn't catch the name). Lindeman's Framboise was my choice, a sweet raspberry fizzy cider-like beverage. Not as heavy as a malt beverage like Mike's Hard Lemonade. By the time we were done, the restaurant had filled up and the room was a-flutter with people talking about how glad they are to be done with work for the day. The staff appears friendly but they should listen better and be specific with what the order is. I ordered a New California Supreme Pizza and I received not what I ordered. It turns out the waiter only wrote down what he thought/assumed was the ingredients of the Pizza "Spinach and Artichokes" but not the NEW CALIFORNIA SUPREME PIZZA. Unfortunately when I realized what I had ordered, our waiter was on a dinner break and someone else took over. When I asked the waitress that took over "Excuse me what kind of Pizza is this?" she responded really RUDELY and said, "What do you mean what is this?" Then I asked that I could borrow a menu and I showed her what I wanted the NEW CALIFORNIA SUPREME PIZZA and she said, "Well that's what he wrote on the slip, he wrote "Spinach and artichoke pizza" once again in a snotty tone of voice then finally she asked, "Do you want me to change it? I can give you a new one." Even though I was disappointed and I didn't want to ruin my evening, I just shook my head and said, "no it's okay". We are fans of BJ's in general; NOT THIS LOCATION. Our server Savannah was horrible. Barely seen and certainly not attentive. Server stations to either side of us, the servers were hustling. People coming in well after us were getting their food; pizzas, large orders.... etc. Savan... takes our order.... close to 30 minutes later NO FOOD. Motioned to who appeared to be the Manager, who made eye contact then went directly into the bathroom. Able to flag down our server, she says Oh... We're waiting for the french dip. (We ordered a french dip and large pizza). Finally the order arrives. THE PIZZA WAS WRONG! (the receipt shows the server put it in wrong) and the meat to the french dip dried out. Kept the sandwich; starving. The pizza was reordered... Being fans of BJ's, was disappointed to find the pizza is no better; overall, than a takeout from that delivery place with a Domino on the box. BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse (2 out of 5 stars) We really enjoy the food at BJ's, but the service continues to fall short, both with dine-in and takeout. I've spoken to Jose, the GM, and other managers on multiple occasions in the past, yet the problems keep happening. Tonight I placed a takeout order--and once again, it was wrong. My girlfriend's entire entrée was missing. I normally double-check, but I didn't this time. When I got home and noticed, I tried calling the restaurant to resolve it. I was on hold for over 25 minutes with no answer, and never got the chance to speak with anyone or request a refund. This kind of customer service is unacceptable. It's really disappointing because the food is great, but the lack of consistency, poor order accuracy, and no accountability have become the norm. We want to keep supporting BJ's, but it's hard to trust that we'll get what we pay for. read more

From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in good hands! A super attentive busboy noticed no one was at the host stand and--like a restaurant superhero--quickly ditched his dishes to seat us. Absolute gem of a human! Then came Austin, our server, who was all smiles (seriously, so many smiles!) and made sure we had everything we needed. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he even helped us navigate the menu like a pro. Now, onto the food! The tortilla soup? Packed with an incredible amount of chicken, though a bit salty for my taste. But the clam chowder? Absolute perfection. And let's talk about that vanilla ice cream--so good, we were raving about it. Turns out, it's Austin's favorite too! I had a wonderful dining experience at BJ's Brewhouse in Concord, and a big part of that was thanks to our server, Julie M. From the moment we were seated, she made us feel welcome and comfortable. Julie was attentive without being overbearing, had great menu recommendations (the Southwest salad was spot-on!), and checked in just enough to make sure we were doing well without interrupting our conversation. Our drinks were always full, our orders were accurate, and the timing between courses was perfect. Even when the restaurant got busier, Julie remained calm, friendly, and efficient. It's clear that she takes pride in providing great service. Julie definitely made our visit worthwhile . We'll definitely be back--and hope to sit in her section again! read more

I've been in there 10 times in 2016. 2 out of 10 times they get things right. I usually order the Chipotle Salmon and usually what happens is its undercooked and with a different sauce than what what described. One time it was so bad it has has gotten me sick... The 2 times they got it right was very good however... service was lacking. There have been times where it took an hour to get seated (understandable) then 1:45hr to get our food because the server forgot about us and served the other tables. Also, never forget your wallet because the manager refused to let me look under the table even though I knew it was there. So, this is an update to my last review. Everything about my last review still stands - good food, good beer. Try their IPA and/or the Nit Wit - very good. Why the downgrade? Service. It was atrocious. The drinks came quick, which was nice. We ordered our food (two mini pizzas and a salad). It took 30min for the salad and another 40min for the pizza. During this time we heard nothing from our server. He was too busy with the group of 15ppl that had been seated in his section. When our food finally arrived, it was cold. It took another 5min for the server to get us some ranch. I get that the guy was busy, but at least check in or ask a co-worker/manager for some help. read more

absolutely disheartened by the service I received by not only the server but the staff in the front. Our server started out with a very rude attitude at the first interaction, but the worst was when me and my party of 5 were flat out told "you do know that what you are ordering is $33." What?? We were a group of younger people, coming from someone in the restaurant industry i understand the notion of younger people not "tipping" or being harder to deal with, but me and my party were nothing but respectful and received very poor service by our server Makenzie. Do better!! Food was great per usual but she clearly needs an attitude adjustment and some more training. read more

The soups here are TERRIBLE! The clam chowder was so beyond salty, the brocolli cheddar tasted like canned nacho sauce, and the chicken tortilla soup was the only one passable. It had several slivers of avocado and chips I picked out leaving the highly toxic processed brown stuff on the bottom. The pizzas were above average. Stick with the pizzas. This place should be prohibited from serving these inedible soups. They are about beer and the soups sucked. Even the caesar salad was terrible. Jack in the Box salads taste better. What kind of awful dressing does BJ's put in it? Yuck. Not returning ever. read more

Food is generally good and have always had good service, until today. Had really poor server this morning in the bar. Got order wrong, then argued it was us who was wrong. He never once came by the table, other than to collect dirty plates. Didn't seem to care. Overheard him complaining to other customers he had a large group that wanted separate checks (the reason he wasn't very attentive to them). Gave us the bill and when we asked for change so we could pay exact amount, he said "I DON'T HAVE TIME." Hope management reads these reviews, because usually the servers are great here. read more

I had such a great experience at BJ's, and a huge part of that was our server, Justina. She was super friendly from the moment we sat down and made us feel really welcome. She checked on us at the right times without being overbearing, kept our drinks filled, and made sure everything came out exactly how we ordered it. You can tell she genuinely cares about her customers. she had a great attitude the whole time and made the experience feel easy and enjoyable. Honestly one of the best servers I've had in a while. If you go to BJ's, definitely ask for Justina! read more

Ate lunch here today. One thing I don't understnad is why the don't offer a lunch menu on the weekends. They said because most people have more time on weekends and the food on the lunch menu is designed to be made quickly. OK, but what about the poeple that don't eat those huge portions. SHe ended up letting me get a weekend lunch item. Which was very nice of her. Salad was good. BJ's is like an Applebees, but a little better. A good place overall for lunch. Drinks were quick, food didn't take long at all. Server had a smile on her face always friendly. read more

I used to love BJ's like crazy, then I think their corporate offices expanded too fast and in recent years it's gotten a little "chain-y." Their pizzas are still delicious, but for the most part the rest of their food is over-salty and you can tell it's pre-packaged for the masses. I will give them that their beers are quite tasty, and they make a mean bloody mary (which goes well with beer too!), so I do enjoy going there, especially if a good sports game is on. Overall, I'd say 3 and a HALF stars, but Yelp doesn't allow the half star bonus. :) read more

Saturday i went to BJ's around ll:30 with 2 other people. The restaurant is dark and dreary. We asked for a window table and the waiter said "I have to go talk to my supervisor." Really? There was a total of 20 customers in the restaurant, otherwise, empty. I turned around and walked out. If a restaurant is open for the lunch "crowd" they should have enoiugh employees to adequately serve the customers. It was Saturday and noon houir . . so we left and went to Rred Robin and had a wonderful meal . .served immediately . No hassle read more

Stopped by BJ's in Concord for dinner and had a good overall experience. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Biscoff Pazookie...warm, rich, and absolutely worth saving room for. Easily the best thing we ordered. The Ahi Tuna Salad was decent but not particularly memorable. Cocktails were okay and got the job done, though nothing stood out. Service was friendly, attentive, and one of the stronger parts of the experience. The food overall was average solid chain restaurant fare. It is popular though and always busy. read more

Every time I attend BJ's I am pleasantly surprised by the wonderful service I receive. The food is great and they always let me sample the beer, considering I am not usually a beer drinking. I've ordered anything from their pizza to avocado rolls to their delicious balsamic chicken with mashed potatoes. Their wide variety allows me to try something different every time. I have been at different locations but this is my favorite. One host, Violet, knows me to be a regular and she is always very welcoming. Give it a try! read more
