BJ's is always a solid entry for me. The restaurant is comfortable and open with nice murals and their beer selection painted right there on the walls! The ambiance is especially nice when dining with friends. The menu has lot's to choose from; appetizers, pizza, filling entrees and a lot more. The beer menu offers the chance to explore the many beer styles that they carry. We arrived fairly early before a movie at about 4:30p. They were already busy. We were told the wait would be about 30 minutes. But, after waiting only 15 minutes, a couple of seats opened up at the bar. That'll do! The bartender was very busy, but did get to us in a timely manner. She was very pleasant. I had my customary glass of beer while we waited for our meal. That is certainly nice on a hot day! I decided on a simple fish and chips dinner. My wife also kept it simple with their Chicken Avocado salad. There were four large pieces of fish cooked very well. My wife liked her salad as well. On such a hot day, the light meal was perfect. The overall experience was pleasing. Many already know what to expect with BJ's. My experience is almost always very good and the food, a step above the other neighborhood restaurants. The reason for the lack of the fifth star, has to do more with the location itself. It is smaller than other BJ's that I have dined in, yet located next to one of the largest theaters in the country. It is hard to get in to without a long wait. Also, I noticed the patio was empty. Guests could be accomodated there as well if only there were misters. I was surprised to see that there were none. Still, I am happy that we have a local BJ's from which to choose. I decided to come after watching a movie. The Saturday before Mother's Day, and we were immediately seated with no wait. The restaurant was full and humming. Everyone seemed happy and like they were having a good time. The temperature was just right. Not freezing and not too warm. I appreciated that. We ordered a BJ's Favorite shareable pizza, two half wedge salads, a glass of wine, a Berry Crisp Cider and the Chocolate Chip Pazookie. It's been an extremely long time since I have been to a BJ's and it's my first time to the Goodyear location. The food was decent. The pizza crust is thick, and the first slice was crunchy. Pizza got cold fast and second slice was not crunchy..? I couldn't even take but a bite of my salad because I was so full. Hubs ate it for me. From my one bite, it would be something I order again. I have been to BJ's many times over the last 15 years or so and one of the biggest reasons I have continued to go back is for the Asian Chopped Salad. It is probably the BEST Asian salad I have ever had and it is my go-to order when I go to BJ's. Well, on a recent visit, I ordered the Asian Chopped Salad (with extra mandarin oranges, like I always do!) and when it was brought out, I was then told, "I forgot to mention when you ordered that we no longer are using mandarin oranges in this salad. I can bring strawberries, but we no longer have oranges." ARE YOU KIDDING, BJ's??? Besides the dressing, mandarin oranges are the KEY ingredient to an ASIAN salad...Asian and Mandarin, see the connection? Visited on Friday around 530pm. We used to go frequently but this was our first visit in about 6 months. Server on the patio was great. I think Madison. So much food and very kid friendly menu. The only problem we had was right off the bat. I'm confused about the online waitlist they offer. We joined and then arrived only to be told 10 mins. No problem. However the couple who arrived after us got sat first. When we saw them get called, we asked the host if we had been called because we saw them come after. They said, no, we had them first. When we brought up the online, they just kept saying, we had them first. I think the problem is too many hosts not communicating. They had 4-5 up front. With only 2 of them seating guests, and two just standing up there doing nothing. We will probably find other options in the future. read more

I was excited to finally get a chance to visit here along with two old, dear friends from out of town. They'd never been to a BJ's Restaurant before. We were there at lunchtime on a Monday. The place was busy and about 2/3 full; there were always a few tables empty, and it looked like the staff was good about cleaning things promptly after customers left. We entered through what turned out to be a side door intended for use by order pick-ups. We were good-naturedly guided to the main entrance. A minute later, we were seated at a surprisingly comfortable high-top table. Our server came out right away, and she took great care of us the whole time. My friends asked a lot of questions and made specific requests for their food, and everything came out as requested. I had an entrée ahi salad, which is my favorite at this chain, and it was good. My only minor criticism is that the dressing was pretty heavy; I didn't eat the base greens because they were in what looked like a thin layer of soup. We all enjoyed our food and the experience there. I think my friends will be on the look-out for more BJ's Restaurants as they travel the country in their RV! read more

No, just no. First off, how many times do I have to tell restaurants that Irish coffee is coffee, Jameson, a sugar cube and whip cream or sweet foam. There is NO Irish cream in an Irish Coffee. If you want Bailey's order a coffee and Bailey's. I ordered a crispy jalapeño burger, medium. In a lettuce wrap. It came with a mountain of lettuce and not wrapped. The fries were great while they were hot, not so great 5 minutes later. I also was asked if I wanted a side of ranch and I said yes. The burger was about as overcooked as could be. The ranch which I had to ask for twice, would have been great in adding moisture to the practically burned burger. I would have sent it back but our waitress was MIA for most of the meal. A food runner brought what we needed. Hubs had a classic cheeseburger, again overcooked and really dry. I noticed the people sitting next to us ordered sliders. Three each. They both ate one of them. The waitress asked if they wanted a box and they said these are disgusting. No Be sure to check the bill. We were charged twice for the classic cheeseburger. I pointed it out to the waitress and she said, no, I removed it. I asked her to reprint the bill so I could see it was gone. After a huff she did. That was when the burger was removed. Not sure what kind of shenanigans she was pulling but her tip reflected the shitty service and the fact she lied. Very happy to give this location a better review. After our first visits, which were less than great, we returned to enjoy a much improved level of service. We all know how difficult it is to find good help these days. Especially in the West Valley. Pot stickers are a must have here. As are the "traditional" wings. Very tasty and satisfying. Salads are fresh and not overly dressed. As we are not fans of thick crust pizza, the tavern cuts and flatbreads offer an excellent alternative. Hate to write a negative review of the place, semi-frequent this place. Never ordered the prime rib special before, did today, not a good experience. Approximately 60% of it was unedible. I get that prime rib is a very fatty cut, but to this extent seemed far more fat than would be regularly served. After consuming I asked the bartender if this is a standard amount of just how much fat/waste this was on their prime rib. He seemed to agree it was a standard amount of fat/waste and said that's why he typically does not order prime rib. He then spoke with a manager briefly after my inquiry, manager took off 25% of that menu item ($9), manager never walked over & spoke with me directly. Bartender said they took the 25%/$9 off, I made a slight comment about how 60% of it was unedible and a waste - he commented that he believes their prime rib special is a good deal, not exactly a tasteful comment given the circumstance. My fault for not addressing this when the plate was brought out, was starving, decided to dive in rather than make a case of it in the immediate moment - that's on me, should have addressed it then, refused it & requested something else. read more

Food- The food wasn't great, I got the ahi poke and the fish was not fresh at all, it had an odd after taste. I've gotten the ahi poke appetizer before and never had brown avocado due to the sauce. This avocado was super brown and it was just very unappealing. Pot stickers were okay, the chili sauce it came with was good. Service- The service wasn't bad, server was nice and what not but my bf ordered a Philly and asked for a side of aus ju and I just wish we were told that was $5 extra..... there was no mention of sauces costing extra on the menu, but we ended up with a "pint sauce charge" had we know we wouldn't of ordered it. Service was good. Here is my issue I ordered the turkey burger. The turkey burger automatically comes with some sort of cranberry topping so know that as I talk about my review here. I asked for my turkey burger to not come on a bun (my parents own a restaurant in LA so I hate to waste food -when I know I won't eat some thing.) so I asked for no bun, no onions, no mayo. I did ask for guacamole on top, and I got a burger on a bun with guacamole, no cranberry topping (I was asked if I still wanted the cranberry topping when I asked for the guac, and I said yes) and he even repeated it back to me and it still came wrong. When the food came, I asked for the cranberry topping and also pickles and I was given the cranberry topping no pickles, so I just gave up. The burger was was very thick for a turkey burger which almost felt a bit processed to me as the way it was compacted made me scratch my head a little. My sweet potato fries were not even room temperature, and they definitely needed salt or flavoring, and I am not someone who salts their food My friend ordered a burger with only lettuce, tomato and bacon and there was no lettuce on the burger (another head scratcher) My husband also ordered a burger and said that the bottom bun was completely stale and he wasn't impressed with the burger. Something for Everyone Just had lunch at the recently-opened BJ's in Goodyear. The restaurant is clean, the staff are welcoming, and the menu is extensive. You can find almost anything On this visitv we ordered the clam chowder bread bowl, burger sliders, fish & chips, wings, sweet potato fries, fried chicken sandwich, and everything was delicious. The chicken sandwich had ham, bacon, swiss cheese and alfredo sauce, perfect. Rhe wings with the peppered BBQ glaze was the best I've hadvin a long time and thepazookies were warm and gooey just the perfect dessert. Great customer service and exceptional service. The bartended offers drinks but I'm currently non alcoholic so he made me a virgin mule with some muddled strawberry and it was DELISH!! We came in today around 1:00 pm it seemed to be a lot of people in one little dinning area. When we got to the greeters/hostes we asked if we could sit up in the bar area which had more open seated area, however we were told only at the bar itself. (There were 3 or more tables within the bar with people eating at the bar tables. It just seemed and felt odd that we couldn't eat at one of the tables in the bar). Plus they had already opened the doors with air and sunshine beaming with one couple eating in the outside area. Perhaps the greeters didn't have the authority to let folks sit where they requested due to staffing issues in the bar?. So we ended up next to 4 tables full of people that were seated pretty close (we could hear all 3 tables conversations) felt too congested for our liking. Luckily we had a great waitress I believe her name was Christy (?) but she seemed to calm our nerves. The pizza was 1/2 off and very yummy! We also appreciated her guidance on the 1/2 price pizza and she was very helpful! The pizza was delicious and very tasty. I would say the greeters could be a little more friendly. It just didn't feel like we were welcomed by them. I didn't get their names it was a younger guy and gal greeting today. We will try them again at another time and see how it goes. With as "many eating options" in Goodyear to eat I would highly recommend getting some charismatic type personalities at the front doors as it really does set a tone for people coming in. I've always been a fan of BJ's but I do consider their menu to be a little pricy depending on what you get. I typically go for their daily specials. Every Weds their special is $11 burgers with bottomless fries & you just cannot go wrong with that. The burgers are always good, what's not to love about endless fries? My most recent visit was also my first to this location. The restaurant is new so as expected the interior is very clean & offers a nice ambiance. Our server was great - very attentive & friendly. We ordered takeout that included a prime rib and we paid extra for loaded baked potato. Shocker to find no au jus or horseradish (even though it's clearly on the ticket) - so completely ruined expensive piece of meat. Then the loaded bake potato came with sour cream and chives. No cheese, no bacon - nothing we paid extra for and the extra is a ridiculous amount to not get what you paid for. Management? The could care less. They hired the people that are incapable of reading the ticket. All this is clearly printed n the ticket and what's worse we had zero special requests. No substituting or odd request. This is a nice restaurant; however we recently had a difficult experience. We ordered two cocktails, and put our food order in at the same time. Waited and waited and waited for our drinks; when I flagged down our waitress to check on them she said she'd been keeping an eye on the bar so that she'd know when they were ready, but that maybe it was shift change slowing things down. Personally, I think that a restaurant should be able to handle bartender shift change without significant delays, but anyway......our food came, and we started eating, before the cocktails arrived. Let me tell you, an old-fashioned doesn't really go well with Baked Ziti. We did flag down a guy with "manager" on his shirt and tell him what happened, and it turned out he was the kitchen manager. He went to get the floor manager, who was too busy to see us, BUT the kitchen manager comped all our food. He didn't have the authority to comp the drinks, but doing so with the food was certainly over and above what we would expect. We went out to lunch on Valentine's Day while were were visiting in Good Year AZ. We had a group of 6 and they were able to take care of us no problem. We had good service and the food was good. We have been going to BJ's for years in WA state. Decided to order our favorite pizza from them at this location. Bbq Chicken and Bacon pan pizza. We were very disappointed. Chicken and bacon was sparse. Crust was overdone, sauce was minimal. If this is what $50 (with tip) gets you, we will pass! Very sad to take them off of our rotation. read more

I have been a huge BJs fan and was so excited about this one opening up. We had multiple parties here from bachelorettes to birthdays. This past Friday night was the worst experience I have ever had. Made reservations for 6:30 and we didn't get seated until almost 7:15. Not to mention they didn't even seat us together, so half of the group left because why would you sit at a table alone for a party? I asked to be seated together (which I know they do because of the other times we have came) the manager didn't bother to offer any type of discount or any type of mediation other than if we sat together it would be a "fire hazard" then we still got hit with the auto gratuity even though we were all at SEPERATE tables. I've got to say this was the most disappointing and unacceptable experience I have had here. You'd have better luck at cheddars next door, and the bill would be cheaper.
