Angela gave us great service today. She was attentive without being intrusive. She noticed our drinks needed refilling without our mentioning it. Went here a few days ago. Service was slow, which was fine. We had to get the waiter's attention to get condiments and refills. Food was good, hence the extra star, otherwise it would have been less. Ordered a side of fruit for my 10 month old. The fruit came out with bunch of pineapples on top, underneath were strawberries and grapes. The pineapple was freshly put on top, however, the strawberries and grapes were not. Maybe to cover up what's on the bottom. Some of the strawberries were mushy, with the outside trimmed off as if to hide a rotting strawberry. Some of the grapes were broken with mold inside. I got the waiter's attention and sent it back. I'm not going to let my baby eat moldy, rotten fruit. They were nice about it and offered to get a new one or replace it with a different side. I opted not to get anything since we were getting ready to leave. My cousin got the bill so I didn't get to check the bill before she paid. They charged us for the fruit even though it wasn't edible. However, did they just change the recipe for their deep dish pizza? For decades--since I started visiting back when they were a mom-and-pop pizza joint in Santa Ana in the late 1970s--one of the most distinctive things about their pizza was the use of whole cherry tomatoes instead of tomato paste. Today ourur party of 8 had lunch at the BJ's in Irvine. Our bill came to $156.00 before tips. BJ's in Monrovia is one of our favorite restaurants because we like the food and the service there. However, today at the Irvine resaurant, I thought it was a ridiculous policy they had. It was not the waitress fault but when the pizza arrived it was not presented as advertized on the menu. I believe it is a new item, "hot honey" combo pizza. It did not taste anything like it was advdertized, not spicy and no honey taste. When we compained to the manager, he said addition honey dressing would cost $3.00 extra. That is so rediculous we will never go back to that BJ's again. Came here for a nice lunch yesterday and the experience was pretty crappy. At first the waiter was really good, very knowledgeable and willing to assist us with any question. My boyfriend's burger ended up being halfway cooked fully - crazy right? His fries were cold. My mahi mahi tacos - one was grilled one was fried - the grilled one had hardly any fish in it at all and for the price the plate was unfulfilling and disappointing. Requested fresh fries which never came out. Asked for check prior to pazookie being delivered (for to go) and replacement fries to go- and it took forever and multiple asks, to manager, to get check, fries, pazookie, to come to table. The wait and poor amount of communication were very frustrating. Had to also get extra margarita mix for a drink because drink was poorly made. All that and not a single item partially taken off menu, or extra drink provided taken care of. Lack of respect for providing the customer a good experience is all I can help but feel. The Tuna was fresh and not over cooked and the salad dressing was not over powering and tasty. I had the Soup and Salad Combo - Chicken Tortilla Soup and Iceberg Wedge Salad. The Soup had chunks of chicken, tortillas strips and melted cheese with a soft blend of spices that was balance and not overpowering. I love blue cheese dressing on the Wedge Salad with chunks of tomatoes, red onions, and bacon bites. Tonight was busy. Lowkey I've been to BJ's when I was younger and I don't really recall it being so fire...I probably just learned to order more properly...because the food I had last night was soooo mouthwatering and delicious I just had to post something! I even forgot to take photos I was to distracted by the fine food right in front of me! I had a juicy 14oz Ribeye Steak with Brussels Sprouts and broccoli with a tower of mozzarella sticks! What is also worthy of noting was our waitress Nicolette for being such a shining star and being efficient and effective...We didn't have to ask for refills and She brought out everything we asked for! Her service made the experience and meal soooo much more satisfying! As for the overall seating and restaurant experience we were seated in the patio and we had a few graduates having dinner and a birthday and both parties received random claps from other tables! I haven't been to BJ's in about 6 years, but decided to go with a friend this evening -- disappointing experience tonight with the food overall. Since they have a bar there, I asked the waiter if they had real Ginger ale, which he replied "yes." I asked because I didn't want selling up with one quick hit of coke so it would look like it. He said it was real, and my friend said she'd also get ginger ale. Needless to say, it was not real ginger ale. I also asked the server what dish is better there, a hamburger or the fried chicken salad -- he said they were both great, and so I ordered the fried chicken salad. I asked him what salad dressing was better, their blue cheese or ranch. I said I wanted it with Ranch, then he said he would bring me two dressings on the side so I can find out which one I liked. Others on the side. We also order an appetizer of fried pickles. The server side that he would be bringing the pickles out first. The entrees came out and we're served, but no pickles. I was surprised what my salad looked like, he had ordered the salad dry, and it was served on a deep plate with no room to toss it if you wanted to. It was a mountain of finely chopped iceberg lettuce with a few random pieces of corn. Instead of a chicken nugget pieces, just a fried breast was coarsely cut into five strips that were laid across it. It was very unappealing, and I wish I had taken a picture now. It was so finally chopped that for me to even dab my fork in the dressing with the salad on it, or dressing on top of the salad would just been goopy in one place and dry in the other. The pickles were served by someone else, and I was munching on those until the server came back. They were not pickle spears, the size of the pickle would be smaller than a small french fry, most didn't even have any skin on them. The batter they were fried in is very heavy, so basically you have a very small taste of pickle in a very breaded encasement with nothing inside. Bizarre. What the server returned, I asked him to just please have the kitchen toss it with the ranch dressing. He brought it back promptly, and then I got to taste the dressing. The salad was completely bland. It lacked salt in the dressing. I proceeded to add some blue cheese from the sampler side dressings he had brought earlier, and they did not help. Wesley I ordered the Ghirardelli chocolate ice cream to get the strange flavors out of my mouth, and when it was served, it was just a haphazardly dumped semi-single scoop force on the one side of the plate. It will be at least another 7 years before I return to BJ's for fake Ginger ale, fake salad with zero green color in it, and invisible pickle appetizer. read more

So I live close by and always dine here. Although I do notice a difference of quality in service when one person in particular is in control. I'm not sure if her name is raiana/ray she's definitely a manager and she always over books the tables and stresses the servers out in return making them forget and make more mistakes than usual. To start, this was hands down one of my best experiences at BJ's, ever. I've been coming here for years, this is my second review of this establishment. I felt so greeted, helped, and appreciated by our waitress tonight, Bradi. She was attentive, checked in on us frequently, and had the best attitude!! I was so delighted by her demeanor and it improved the entire course of our meal. Thank you so much Bradi! I also have to add that one of the waiters, Cole, and another female waitress who brought out our food was both so delightful as well and had such great attitude and presentation. On to the food, tonight's meal was very delicious overall. The clam chowder was steaming hot and full of flavor. The creamy texture was perfect! The Fresh Mozzarella And Tomato Salad had very fresh, quality ingredients had plenty of creamy, fresh mozzarella balls. The balsamic dressing was the perfect addition to all the flavors! The Baby Back ribs were overall solid. Not the best ribs in the world, but honestly very high quality. The onion straws were a wonderful addition and added to the appeal of the dish. I also loved the quality of the pickles and pickled onions. Dessert was amazing as always! BJ's never fails to satisfy my never-ending pizookie craving. The Triple Chocolate Pizookie Made With Ghirardelli and Salted Caramel Pizookie hit all the right spots. The warm cookie base and cold ice cream on top is exactly what I need in a dessert and BJ's makes it jusssst right every time. Thank you BJ's for this enchanting experience!
