We were in town for a family homecoming celebration of life. Being a large family, and leaning on the side of safety, we decided to have a meal in a restaurant. All 25 of us waited in Applebee's on Mayfield Rd. Parking lot for 1 hr to be told to that they would not be able accommodate us. 22 Adults and 3 children. A cousin from out-of-town, who visited Cleveland 2 months ago, suggested BJ's. Again we called ahead to see if they could accommodate us all. Upon arrival we were happy greeted by a masked lady, who again took the total number of our party and let the waitress/waiter know we had arrived. We were seated at 2 10 seat tables with a 6 seat for the teens and children. I have to appreciate how the state guidelines w of 6 feet were observed. Our servers introduced themselves and advised us how the orders would be taken not to over load the kitchen and for everyone would be served accordingly. By now this was turning into a 2 1/2 he delay no thanks to Applebee's. Telookrrance our shining stars waiter and servers was boss! He calmly took our orders on his digital order handheld system and everything ran super smooth. There was another young lady whom name is did not catch worked in perfect harmony with Superstar Terrance. All of our orders were taken, drinks,bar ,appetizer, entrees he did it all!! Then decor of the restaurant was brewery, tv's ,outstanding drink menu, ciders,,IPA's. Pretty good selection on the drink menu as well as the 2 page dine-in menu. This is totally the type of restaurant would be a regular at at he I'm VA. Outside dining is also available, along with a very busy take out section. Meals were delivered as effective as possible with such a large party, my Bistro burger was cooked perfect.( Restaurant note: serve fresh, never frozen local beef patties) that would kicked up the artisan burger to the top. Hubby ordered chicken wings, they were out of bone in wings so he ordered the bone less wings. A few were cold, because they were totally raw inside.(eeew) I was then done with that appetizer. At my table, everyone was pleased with their plates when they arrived. Free pizokie, dessert cookie al LA mode were presented to just about everyone dining. Not me, I'm STRICTLY a Creme' brulee lady. After my delicious burger I could only ask for coffee. It was served piping HOT. I was so happy I almost shed a tear. Our party although hungry and saddened by losing a dear anchor of the family were enjoying our time together and had no complaints. I was actually very happy this restaurant was suggested. We gave the kitchen, waiters and servers a quick rush but they both handled everything very very well. This is a brewery 3 stars with a really good menu. The 2 additional stars are for accommodating my larger party with just a 20 min notice!! That's badazz in my book. That was travel time from, pre portioned plate mediocre Applebee's. Way to go BJ'S! Had been hearing good things and watching my friends pictures of their food for awhile. Finally I stopped in myself. I love the layout and design of the place. I could definitely see coming back for the outdoor patio alone. I was greeted by the sweetest lady and she set the tone. My waiter was very courteous and remained that way through my indecisiveness. There were a lot of great choices on the menu. I never finish my food so I was being extra careful on what to select. Finally I decided on the calamari app and the salmon bowl. I figured I'd just be taking food home for later. I was right! Their portions are much bigger than I imagined. My meal had the perfect accompaniment in the rosé margarita. It was exceptional. They have a paper cocktail menu, and a QR Code to scan for the actual menu. I also loved that I was able to scan a code on my bill to pay. Apparently, I loved my food too much to snap pics. A W F U L!!! I would rank this establishment 0 stars if I could. I've TRIED and TRIED again and again.... But after many failed attempts this place has proven its not worthy of frequenting. BJ's is near my home & my gym, so it's extremely close and could even be considered convenient. They have a really good happy hour from 3-7 & late nights. They also have one of my favorite deserts (Pizookie). I have attached multiple pictures of the pizookies, and have had almost every flavor. 10/10. On Tuesday's they have a special where they are $4 all day. I even enrolled in the membership on their app because they have plenty of good deals and promotions while earning points for rewards. With ALL of that considered, I've NEVER even walked out feeling like this place is decent. I've been double digit times. This is one of the worst establishments I've ever been too. You know how some places have bad food but great service? Or great food but awful service? I wish I could say this had either. Service is non-existent & the food is unbearable. They have burnt my order more times than I can remember. In one particular time it took 15 minutes to even be acknowledged, then another 40 minutes for my food. The order was completely wrong and it was only a pizookie! The restaurant was not busy at all. Appetizers taste like they are out of the frozen aisle. My mozzarella sticks cheese wasn't even melted on the inside, and it was not hot enough to melt the cheese they put on top. Nobody on the staff seems to care at all. The entrees are much worse. I actually believe it's because of the staffs, and not because of BJ's the establishment. The servers are extremely slow. The establishment isn't cleaned at all. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. I never use the silverware and always request plastic. Dishes look awful. Take forever to clean off tabletops for guests and clear bar area. Bathroom is horribles s They don't move with any urgency at all whether it's busy or slow. They are extremely unfamiliar with their own promotions and menu. The management staff is the worst! They take no accountability for any of it. In October they did pizookie $4 all month and management didn't want to honor it even though it was on their wall flashing as an AD with other slides and I had an email for it. It was October 9th by that time. That is unacceptable. Staff argues with other staff. The whole vibe of the establishment is usually off with complaining customers, so everyone mood is down from staff to customers. Customers often complain about the speed of the staff. I'm sure it's an ongoing conversation with corporate from customers because it's no way staff should give such minimal effort. They are not understaffed either. I am not the one to complain simply because an establishment is understaffed. This is pure neglect. The overall customer experience is so bad it makes whatever positives they have seem irrelevant. I have ordered several times from BJ"S restaurant in Orange, I find the food to be very average in taste and disappointing. Everytime we order they fail to deliver all of the order most recently ordered their french dip. It was missing the ajue sauce which made the sandwich non edible. I went to this location on 3/2 with 7 other people. The lady who sat us down was nice; she gave us menus & cutlery to start with. Our waitress Kamari took our drink/anppetizer orders but it took over 30 mins for everyone at the table to receive their drinks. We watched as our drinks sat at the bar for 10 mins & our waitress nowhere to be found. 2 of us got theirs quickly then the next 5 came after 15 mins & mines came last after another 10 mins. The first drink she brought me was incorrect. Appetizers arrived 10 mins after that & everything was good except the potstickers; they looked deep fried instead of pan fried (very hard crust). After another 20-30 mins, Kamari came to take our entree orders. She came to our table total of 4-5 times. Never came by to check on us throughout our stay or see if the food was satisfactory. We asked for the manager but she was unhelpful. The manager's name that day was Katy. The receipts were wrong, everyone had something of someone else's order. Upon getting ready to leave, we also noticed that my friend never received her pizookie from her meal deal. On top of that when she told the manager which pizookie she wanted, the manager stated she had to get the chocolate chunk. I would like to clarify it DOESN'T specify that you have to get a specific pizookie with the meal deal. we checked, it's nowhere in the fine print on any of the menus. overall this location sucks & not worth the visit. we all were dissatisfied with our service & some of us with our food; we wrote reviews & took back most of our tips. read more

On Sat night at 545p my family of 4 (which includes an infant and toddler) was given a wait time of 20-25 min. I took my toddler to the bar area and ordered a pazzuki (dessert before dinner as a treat.) It took over 30 min for it to be served. Once seated, it took our server 15 min to come to our table. We ordered one kids meal and two adult entrees. The food took more than an hour to deliver, and the server told us "it was because you ordered tacos" as if those are difficult or time-consuming to make. The food only arrived after telling the server we are going to cancel our meals if the food didn't arrive in the next 5 min. All in all we were at BJs for 2 hours and had to get our meals to-go rather than eating in bc we had to get our kids to bed. We also saw two other tables complain about service. I want to talk about the WORST experience I've ever had at a restaurant. An experience so poor, that I came home immediately and started typing this. I called into BJs on a Tuesday to find out if they could accommodate my team and I, a total of 13 people, on that upcoming Friday at 6pm. I Was told it was absolutely doable and made the reservation. 3 and 1/2 hours later I receive a call back from the restaurant asking if instead of 6pm we could do 530pm, to which I responded ABSOLUTELY. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:15pm and were told that a waitress for our table wasn't available yet and we could have a seat at the bar. We were waiting on a few more people so we did just that gladly, ordered drinks, I paid over $100 in drinks to be exact for just one round. At about 7pm, I realized no one had come to get us for our table. I went back up and after some confusion about which large party was there they scrambled and sat us back in the bar area at a large table. Great. But upon heading back to the table, we realized that the bar didn't return one of our party's credit cards. After 5 min of searching, they just nervously shuffled things around. I asked for a manager who was explained the situation, disappeared for a bit then returned to the table and said that she couldn't access the cameras without authorization. From who? We still don't know, but we still needed the card. We asked if she could get the authorization and she disappeared again. She returned later with the card and no apology. All seemed well until the waitress came over, offered us some water and disappeared for another 20-25 minutes. By this time we had all come straight from the office and were hungry, but still enjoyed everyone's company. She came back over eventually, and got our orders. Appetizers came out fine, but when it was time for our meals to come out, half of the tables were cold. Which told me they put both in at the same time and left our food sitting. At this point I asked for a manager again. To which a different person appeared, someone named Vaughn. A black man from the kitchen. It normally wouldn't be important what race he was, but I want it to be said that this was a table of all black women. Why weren't we sent the actual manager? He told us he'd have all the cold meals taken off the bill and we could "take them home and microwave them". At this point it wasn't worth arguing anymore as he offered excuses, like it was the manager's 2nd day. Brook (the real manager) Hadn't been there long enough to know anything. Ok, sure. Some people ate, some did not, I was a part of the latter as the shrimp on my scampi was ice cold and I had no desire to go home and do the work to warm it up. We asked for checks and waited another 30 minutes, to which I asked for the manager again. She came over and I finally explained the stress we had encountered the entire time we had been there. Still....no apology, just a reassurance that the items had been removed from our bill and everyone received 25% off of the remainder. Great. When I went back to the table and was brought my bill, no ones food had been removed. I again, for the 3rd time this evening, asked for the manager to come to the table. She came over and I asked what the disconnect was. Maybe there was something else I had missed. My food now old and sitting in the same plate they brought it to me in untouched that I was now having to pay for. She told me she really didn't know what the disconnect was, took the bill off the table and walked away. When she returned she had removed the scampi, left my appetizer, but also removed my 25% off. By this time it was almost 930pm. We had spent over 4 hours in this place and most of us hadn't had a meal. When I attempted to express my frustration with this entire process, the manager, Brook, then walked away. Listen and listen good.....DO NOT frequent this establishment. If you're reading this, you're looking for a reason to go or not to go, and I'm telling you not to go. With a manager like this, there's no way you can expect your patronage to be met with hospitality, accountability, friendliness, professionalism, or even A HOT MEAL. Brook has only been with the company 2 days and has lost 13 customers who not only will never step foot inside one again, but will tell everyone they know about this experience. BJs can't possibly care about their customers with leadership like this and to be honest, I wonder if they would have treated a large group of white women with such careless and blatant disrespect. read more

We called the "Add your name to the wait list" at 5:45 and the recording indicated no wait. Got there at 6 and were informed there was a 40 minute wait. So we were directed to the bar where we sat at one of about 15 open tables. "Tables are closed" we were told. Ok so we sat at the bar. After a good ten minutes of no eye contact by the bartender we decided to leave. It was not because they were busy. Crappy and disrespectful service or lack thereof. We were trying to make a movie so time was important. Suggestion for future customers (not us that's for sure): --take accountability for your wait time service. Don't imply that the customer is lying when we explain the issue -- at the bar at least greet the people other than to yell at them for sitting in the wrong section. This BJ's is beyond terrible. It takes forever to get your food after ordering it, and then the order is either wrong or terribly prepared. This place oozes with the obvious staff sentiment of not caring in the least. During a recent visit, our server told us the restaurant cannot keep staff, so they have to bring in staff from other BJs' around the country, like Texas and California. This doesn't fix the problem and actually makes it worse because the staff transplants resent having to be there. This BJ's, and the surrounding community, would be better served if it just shut down. read more

She didn't smile once when greeting guests which is a shame since she is the first person the guests see upon entering the establishment. We sat down Friday evening and wanted to order the prime rib weekend special. By 7pm on a Friday evening, they were out of their weekend special. Our second choice was the Jambalay but our waitress said it would take another hour for the rice to be ready. One hour for rice?! The 3rd item was their AhiTuna salad and sure enough, no tuna! Bj's far exceeded expectations. The menu has an insane variety of entrees to choose from. I was very very pleased with my meal, quality, speed, and service. I have never been to a BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse before and wish there was one in my area. This was a great restaurant experience with exceptional food. The staff was very friendly and had a welcoming attitude. The restaurant had tall ceilings and an open concept which created a great atmosphere. The food was excellent. I ordered the Avocado Egg Rolls as an appetizer with the sweet tamarind dipping sauce, and it was fantastic. They really set the tone for how the rest of the food was going to taste. The egg rolls had a rich flavor to them and the dipping sauce had a sweet touch to add to them. I ordered the BJ's Classic Crispy Chicken Sandwich for my meal. It was a thick, crispy chicken breast with honey mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, dill pickles all on a toasted Parker house bun. Unfortunately, they forgot the side of coleslaw. But I did get a side of fries to go with it. The sandwich was by far the best crispy chicken sandwich I ever had. Overall this was a great restaurant to eat at. My only complaint is that the service was a bit slow and it took about 15 minutes for me to get my drink and about 20 minutes to get my appetizer. I highly recommend eating here! read more

Got takeout for the first time from BJ's yesterday for dinner. Worst Filet mignon' I ever had. it was a sub-standard sirloin that was tough as shoe leather. Absolute waste of $29.95. The baked potato was good, and my son reported the tortilla soup was a step above cafeteria. He said a few bites of the prime rib sandwich were good, but they didn't include the Au jus, which he maintains is the best part. Very disappointing. read more

To whom it may concern, My friends and I visited the BJ's Orange Village restaurant on Friday, August 2, 2024. We had reservations at 3:00 p.m. under the name of Diana Jones (party of 4). Two of us arrived at 3:00 p.m. and one person arrived at about 3:05. We asked for a table but was told that there were none clean and was seated at an unclean high top table. We asked for someone to clean the table. A waitress came over and partially wiped the table (only wiped the part of the table closest to her). I asked for the dish cloth and wiped the other side of the table by the window where two of us were sitting. The waitress brought us water and shared some information about the menu. She came back over within about 5 minutes and took our orders. Friend #1 ordered appetizers (no meal) and an appetizer to go. I then placed my order which was the "tri tip wedge", she asked if I wanted everything on the salad and I said yes. Friend #2 ordered 2 appetizers. Our orders were placed at approximately 3:15 p.m. Both of my friends received their orders (even the togo order) NLT 3:30. At approximately 3:45, Friend #1 asked for her check because she needed to leave. At 3:50, I noticed that I asked the waitress about my order because I had not received any food. The waitress came back with the salad, and I asked her if it could be discounted or comped due to the late arrival (by now it is approximately 4:00 p.m. (1 hour after we arrived). She said she would check with the manager. The waitress came back and and notified us that the manager was not going to discount or comp the meal because the it was cooked on time and ("all lights were green none were red"...not sure what that means). The waitress then told me that the reason my food came out late was because I ordered "later" after "the other orders were placed". I was shocked by her statement and so was my friend that was present as all three of us placed our orders together. It is ridiculous for her to tell me that I did not place my order with everyone else and because of that it was acceptable for my food to come out an hour later. I asked her for the ticket placed when she put my order in and the ticket says 3:54 (after I inquired about my food). I looked at my friends ticket and their orders were put in at 3:14 (pics attached). I told the waitress that she could take the salad back because I refuse to pay for it when I just sat there for now an hour and 15 minutes without eating. She then snatched the salad and rolled her eyes and walked away. I have never had such a horrible experience at a restaurant. I did not come to this restaurant looking for a free meal, I felt very upset and felt like the waitress was trying to gaslight me trying to make me think I ordered after/later than everyone else....It does not make any sense at all. I am not sure what can be done about this situation after the fact but, you can best believe this experienced has ensured I will not return the the Bjs at Orange Village ever again. read more

This place constantly disappoints! And the excuses for the extremely bad service never cease to amaze me! Order a Porter and a jalapeño margarita, then ordered a full rack of ribs and 2 side Ceasar salads! 30 min later no drinks, no plates, no silverware, and then the ribs come out! I believe the proper order would have been for drinks to arrive then salad and finally the ribs!!! We got up and walked out! Can't wait for this place to open, officially. Was there for the soft opening & they did a really nice job with the buildout. Flat screen tv's everywhere, a nice patio, and everything spaced out to accommodate social distancing. Our server was great, very friendly & knowledgeable of the menu. We had one of the pizzas, the jambalaya (excellent!) & a beer sampling flight. Great addition to the neighborhood & looking forward to returning again soon. Best of luck with the launch! read more

Very poor service. Waited over 45 minutes for food and it came out cold. Manager came to table with an attitude and spoke to us as if we were bothering her. The server at the bar was in training and tried to be helpful but could not. This is my second visit in 6 weeks. My last time I was here in February the bartender forgot to make my drink despite standing in front of me playing with the waitresses. I will not return for poor service a third time. Such a shame because it is a nice place. read more
