Came here to eat as a couple was treated very rude and odd the whole time, such as left mid ordering when wasn't sure on the recommendation he gave, jokingly said "okay make up your mind bye" but literally left. kept commenting on the amount that was being ordered and when I got my food (jumbo meatballs and spaghetti) the meatballs were raw and were literally paste other then that the food is okay but nothing special and my Mac and cheese balls came out burnt and the pizza was cold? Worst dining experience in a LONG time and a disaster from start to finish. New and in-training waitress, rude and disinterested manager, "Lisa," interminable wait for a drink and cold, unappetizing food served after an unacceptably long wait. We arrived late (11:00 p.m.) and it took over 15 minutes for our waitress to appear at our table, despite the fact that the restaurant wasn't busy. However, we were assured by the waitress that we had "plenty of time" to order and that the late hour would be "no problem." I ordered a margarita and the waitress disappeared. It took over 15 minutes for another server to show up with the drink, which was the wrong order. She said she would get our server and left with the incorrect drink. When our server finally showed up 10 minutes later, she was very apologetic and said she would get the correct drink, but it took another 10 looooong minutes for that to happen. She finally took our order, which arrived much, much later and was served with stone cold french fries. At that time, I wanted another drink, but was told it was too late. Asked for the manager at that point, who took another 10 minutes to appear at the table. She took off the charge for my sandwich and cold fries, but said she couldn't get me another drink and couldn't do any thing about the one that arrived very, very late. I have been a loyal customer of BJ's but will NEVER eat there again. If you don't care about poor service, indifferent management and lousy food, by all means patronize BJ's. As for me, I will be eating somewhere else from now on. read more

I frequent BJ's all the time in Orange County with no issues, but boy oh boy I walked into the Oxnard location today and the reviews that are on yelp site are right on. The manager, Lisa seemed nice, but then all the issues started popping up she took her ostrich in the sand Corporate stance even though the failures of this restaurant were very apparent. Backed up with the GM coming over with lip service that didn't help the situation either Stay away at all cost left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing very disorganized, all the way from the executive chef to the managers etc...... We came for lunch happy hour and got seated right away . My buffalo pizza and fries were delicious. My wife got the chicken bacon ranch and she said it was okay . Also, the beer I got was good and strong at 8.6% alcohol. For being Memorial Day the service was quick . Thanks BJS ! read more

Pricey. We came in for lunch on Saturday at 11 AM. I ordered the Calamari. It was perfect. So tender & the sauces were good. I ordered 2 Cadillac Margaritas. Claudia explained that the shot of Grand Marnier was served on the side. When it arrived, I asked where the shot was. She said it was inside. Ruh-roh. Hubby's Extreme Pepperoni pizza was excellent! He is looking forward to leftovers tonight. Hubby's Gold Medal flight -beer sampler was not cold. He spoke about it a few times. I did have to get out of my seat and stand by the bar as we hadn't seen Claudia for a while. I asked for parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes from the bartender. Claudia apologized for that after the fact. We came here because we won a $25 gift card from a raffle. Now, we are just waiting for Claudia to swing by for the check. The service was terrible. I ordered my French dip sandwich at the same time as my brother in laws salmon salad and my daughter's chicken and it came out long after they were both finished. Our server never checked back once to see if we needed refills on our drinks and when the manager came over after we asked for my order to be cancelled and for the check because we were ready to go he said let me check what I can do and a few minutes later came out with my sandwich, at that time I told him I just wanted a box and our 2 year old was more than ready to go so he took quite a bit longer to have someone bring it and did not check back in again. They did not remove the sandwich from the bill as they should have so we paid over $60 for a miserable lunch. We will not return. It's a shame because I worked at the BJ's in Tustin and this would have never taken place. I used to really like the food but this place is a waste of money and there are better options in the collection. read more

Slow service and slimy lettuce leaves. The waitress never took our order, but she helped a table that arrived after us. Tired of being ignored, we moved to the bar. My salad had slimy leaves that I pulled aside and showed a bartender, asking to let the kitchen know about it. She said she'd report it to a manager. But she didn't follow up and didn't take the salad off the check. Overall, the salad looked like the Costco Spring Mix, when it's left too long in a fridge and it partly dries up and partly turns slimy. Our meal was good, but it's the impressive service that prompted me to comment. Our friendly waitress Analisa was knowledgeable and seemed to anticipate our needs. The two water drinkers were provided with wedges of lemon, lime and orange to perk up our waters. A second glass of water showed up magically when the first was running low. She produced a menu before being asked when she saw we were close to deciding on our pizookies. (Most of us ordered from the $13 Pizookie lunch menu.) My chicken bacon ranch piadina was just right, and everyone else was happy with their meals, too. The waiter decided to let them have it and so we decided to flag him down. I asked him about our pizookies but he looked confused & shortly returned with one pizookie. Thinking they needed more time for the other (choco chip), we waited. Then we couldn't find our waitress and her trainee since they seemed to be having lessons. About 5 mins later, we finally caught their attention for the check and asked about the 2nd pizookie (birthday freebie). We enjoy BJ's they have Bourbon & whiskey flights (so you can taste different whiskeys & find your favorites versus having to buy a whole bottle at the store) their menu is extensive so it should please anyone in the group, their pizzas are good there or take away & their Famous pizookies are amazing! Honestly! This place has had its ups and downs! But one thing I will say is we come back not only for their awesome menu! But a few staff members give great service & we know who to ask for, but there is one manager who makes you feel like family every time we visit! Went there for my son-in-law's birthday, party of 8 (5 adults and 3 children). There were so many things that went wrong from the very beginning, but the food was the worst. My son-in-law's hamburger arrived first. By the time he was done with his burger, some of the other food started to arrive. Each plate of food was cold. I ordered the beef dip sandwich and even the Ajou was cold. After most of us received our cold food it still was another five minutes before my granddaughter received hers. I sent my cold food back and asked that it be removed from the bill. The manager eventually came up to us and asked if he could rectify the situation. I told him no it was getting late and time to leave. He was very kind and understanding and brought us complementary desserts. Our first waitress had a terrible attitude. Half way through she was clocking out and introduced us to a second waitress who was wonderful. We generously tipped the 2nd waitress in cash, suggesting to not mention it to the first waitress and wrote a note on the back of the bill why we didn't provide a tip on the bill.
