It's the last day for Black Angus Torrance! I made one last visit a few weeks back when they were scheduled to close on June 21. I was pleasantly surprised to see they got an extension to stay till July 11, This place has been a staple of the South Bay for over 50 years and I literally grew up just down the street from here. I remember wondering as child how it was to dine here but it wasn't until I was in college a few years back that I finally got to try this spot out. It's been a go to spot ever since. I've been here with family and friends for various celebrations, occasions and even dineLA (see previous review). I will miss their dine LA specials, Prime Rib Wednesdays, Black Angus Wagon Wheel samplers and Campfeast Dinner for 2. It was always a treat to have their Sky High Mud Pie and their Chocolate Chip Cowboy Cookie for my birthday. I do hope the Torrance location finds another spot. They have been such a big part of the South Bay story and it would be wonderful if they can continue to be part of the Torrance. read more

Went to Black Angus this past week for their Martini Experience. First, I was very saddened to hear that they were closing this location. I hope they find a new location soon. I'll jump to the end real quick because this is important .... no fault of the restaurant but in the parking area (I parked far enough so that my car wouldn't be hit by anyone) and some bozo still managed to swipe my entire side front end of my new car. Jerrrrrkoff move of the driver but I guarantee you that karrrrma is going to come back ten-fold to you. What comes around, goes around so I'm not worried about a fish being served cold to you, soon. Ample parking; however not great drivers. Everyone had 7pm reservations and the establishment did great in getting everyone to be seated in an orderly fashion. The staff was welcoming. One patron decided to be the a h o l e of the night and cut everyone in line as she believed she was entitled. Many people were upset with this. Totally understandable. The lady ended up going to the bar with her husband and friend. She is an embarrassment. Again, no fault of the restaurant. We had a great team who worked beyond hard and provided great service. Leo, Candy and Savannah were the main host and cocktail artists. Our server was Thomas. I believe we were so lucky to have him. He provided the utmost exceptional service. I'm all about great customer service and he was excellent. He definitely made our night. My sister and mom had made reservations and my husband and I had another reservation. We were able to sit together. Our daughter came but did not order since she was Keto and did not want to break her ketosis. Kudos to the chef! Everything was savory, heavenly and exquisite. The experience came with; 1st course: Deviled eggs, smoked paprika, crispy bacon, crispy potato chip 2nd course: shrimp cocktail, house cocktail sauce, basil aioli Paired with a limoncello martini featuring Grey Goose Vodka ENTRÉE: Top Sirloin au poivre, mashed Potatoes, grilled asparagus, brandy cream sauce Paired with a cucumber martini featuring Grey Goose Vodka DESSERT: Berry crème brûlée Paired with Key Lime Pie Martini featuring Grey Goose Vodka The price was very reasonable. I loved the limoncello martini and cucumber martini. Grey Goose is my favorite along with crème brûlée so I knew this night would be a good one. Thomas, is such a delight. We hope to see him again. We are astonished by his great service. His attention to detail all the time while providing excellent service with a smile. He was so friendly and made sure we and others were taken care of. This Torrance location has been one that we have come to since I was a little girl. Today is June 1, 2025. At close of business tonight, this location will cease operations. The landlord is not renewing the lease; they are redeveloping the underlying real estate. With this in mind, I will share a couple of thoughts I normally would not put in a typical Yelp. In the farewell email, the manager of this Black Angus Steakhouse stated that the Black Angus closest to this location is in Lakewood, CA. I will note that within Del Amo Fashion Center (100yards away) there is an Outback Steakhouse. I do not consider either Outback Steakhouse, or Black Angus Steakhouse, a destination in of itself. If you want a steakhouse, if you are nearby, either brand is worthy of consideration. While I like Outback Steakhouse (in general), for some reason, the Torrance location continually fails to meet my expectations for that brand--both in terms of service and food preparation standards. This is why I had been visiting this Black Angus regularly. So .. if you are in the vicinity of Del Amo; if you want to go to a steakhouse -- not just a restaurant that has "a steak" on the menu; where do you go now? My best recommendation is "The San Franciscan". It's about 5 minutes away by car (less than 2 miles) on Sepulveda. It is family owed. The food is good. It shares a similar price point to Black Angus. Perhaps the franchisee of this Black Angus can find a location for a new store in the near future. They were a good operator; the management and staff of this store was consistently good. read more

I was in the mood for a steak on 04/02/25 and remembered that Black Angus Steakhouse was celebrating their 61st year in business and were celebrating this occasion at all their restaurants from 04/01/25 to 04/07/25. So when I accessed BA's app on 04/02/25 their celebratory special for Prime Club Reward Members was a $20.00 12 ounce Ribeye Meal- Regular price for this meal is $33.99 (remember it's FREE to register to be a member) and as of now- it's FREE delivery if you need it via the app- besides a small handling fee of approximately $1.99- not including sales tax and optional tip for the delivery driver. After placing the order online within minutes I called the restaurant and talked to Vunera- to express some special instructions for my order- Extra Well Done Butterflied Steak, Extra Butter, Extra Sour Cream, Extra Chives and lastly Extra Thousand Island Dressing. Needless to say- when I opened the delivery bag and inspected its contents- All was there. The meal was cooked as requested and Yes- it was extremely enjoyable. Even though I didn't dine-in this day- I know for a fact that the dine-in ambiance is great as well. Again my compliments to Vunera, Tyler and most importantly- Juan their GM. One of my favorite places and location to visit when wanting a nice steak! Its also nice when they offer a nice promotional incentive to visit the restaurant. We came in on Monday, July 7th around 8pm for dinner and I ordered the 12 ounce Rib-eye with a Caesar Salad and Baked Potato. The steak was very good, medium rare just the way I like it. The salad and baked potato was nice as well. Our server was Andrea O and she was nice, professional and made sure we were taking care of for the entire evening. Haven't been to a black angus in ages and thanks to Groupon I'm back :). The restaurant is right across the mall so there's a ginormous parking lot and the restaurant itself is huge as well. Came here on a Friday night and got seated right away. We ordered the campfire feast for two $69 and got this on Groupon for $45 :) we ordered wagon wheel sampler (+$5), 2 NY strip, 2 steak soup, loaded baked potato, au gratin potatoes, and sky-high mud pie for dessert. The complementary bread was not bad. The steak soup reminded us of the can soup but not bad. Wagon wheel: the potato skin was a bit tough and so was the fried zucchini. Shrimp cocktail was good and the chipotle buffalo chicken tender was by far the best in the mix. Steak was sord of tender but a bit dry and the mud pie was ok. Not a big coffee flavor ice cream fan. Overall: ok food but for $45 (+$5 for the wheel sampler which I regret as it was way way way too much food ) can't complaint at all. I actually came here to prove a point as we had lunch at shack shake that ended up costing me $65 (see my review) and I wanted to show my wife we could of had all this instead. Black Angus is bait-and-switching UberEats customers. They're offering multiple BOGOFREE entrees. When you order, it automatically adds 2 of the item. You just have to choose your sides. I checked out, with the system showing | saved $29.99, which I should, for (2) $29.99 steak and shrimp dinners. When my order arrived, the driver handed me the bag and it was light. I opened the bag while the driver was at my door and confirmed that there was only one entree and salad, not two, as ordered. What's worse is their receipt shows (1) entree, instead of the (2). Absolutely despicable. This was my first and last time ordering from Black Angus. Posting a screenshot of what the receipts look like when you check out and pay. I am due a refund and UberEats refuses because they claim I didn't add (2) items to my cart when the system automatically adds (2) entrees for the price of one. Surprising Update: After leaving this review, I noticed another review stating June 1, 2025 is the final date of operation for this location. It was nice to come here again after so many years. This place definitely fell off my radar until recently when it came up in conversation and a friend was craving steak or prime rib. I tried the dinner for one for $40 which included an appetizer, an entree, two sides, and a dessert. I chose the crab cakes, 12 oz. prime rib (+$5), the steak soup, loaded baked potato soup, and the mud pie. Everything was wonderful and the prime rib was cooked perfectly medium. TLDR: If you like your steaks cooked any way but medium rare, then this might be the spot for you! The staff are friendly, but their cooks unfortunately struggle with medium rare. - - - - - - This was my first time ever at a Black Angus Steakhouse, and I found the staff and service to be extremely welcoming. Parking was easy in this big lot, and I was thankful for how plentiful their complimentary bread was. My friend and I ordered their Campfire Feast Dinner for Two with Crispy Hot Honey Brussel Sprouts followed by Ribeye and Filet Mignon - both medium rare. The brussel sprouts were fairly sweet, but the dash of feta was nice. Overall, the flavors were all pretty strong, and it felt like a competition to see which would win. The ribeye tasted great - perhaps because it was thin. Both the ribeye and filet mignon, however, came out overcooked. After chewing became a chore, I caught the attention of the server who agreed that it was between medium and medium well. Fortunately, he was able to replace it with a Prime Rib, but even this one disappointed, being well overcooked once again. The garden salad side with both Caesar and ranch dressing were good, though a tad heavy on the dressing side. The side of the classic baked potato was okay, but there weren't enough condiments to really enjoy it. Overall, you had to hope that the steak sauce could substitute or endure bites of plain potato. Maybe they were busy that night, since it took ~30 minutes for our order, but they did not have a full house. This place has always been a go to location for me and my family. Not only do they have lots of parking and seating but they have decent priced options! Me and family always share the Campfire Feast for 2 which comes out to $70 and comes with (1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 4 sides and 1 dessert) a pretty good option especially for some good food. Our service was amazing. My husband and I ordered the campfire feast and she was on it for everything. When our food came out, it felt like the food standards have lowered. I remember getting my steak with char - this time it looked sad. Overall the experience was good. The booths are my favorite- it keeps the kiddos from running around and I love the high backs that makes it more private and doesn't allow my 3 year old to interrupt dinners. We came here to celebrate my birthday and at the same time to say goodbye to a very familiar hangout on its last day. Kate was our server who was very attentive to ensure our celebration was really special. Wonderful to find that the service is still great and that the food is still on par with how it was before the pandemic. On this day, we got the usual campfire feast, which is dinner for two, you can add on the wagon wheel sampler for an additional five dollars, which we did, and that comes with Buffalo chicken strips and a blue cheese and horseradish dipping sauces, fried zucchini, shrimp cocktail, and loaded potato skins. You get a two entrées, a starter, and as they call it sidekicks (sides) and then a dessert to be shared. I highly recommend using the app, you get some perks and bonuses, and coupons which we also utilized on this trip. We celebrated my dad's 69th birthday and we had a great time. Our waitress was wonderful as well as the bussers that served our table. The food came out hot and ready, and the portions are great, we had enough food to bring home for another meal today, Nice and quiet atmosphere and our waitress Maryfel was very helpful; when we asked for an extra bread loaf, she ended up bringing one for each of us at the table, which was three of us, I dined with my parents this night. I thought that was extra sweet and thoughtful. They offer a basic birthday package upon reservations, that you can customize a note and have that available for the birthday person. I think that that's just the special touch that a lot of restaurants overcharge for, and it was only an additional 10 bucks. My dad ordered the chicken and ribs. I had the prime rib with a potato soup as a side. Caesar salad, my mom had the Cobb salad, which is an interesting take because they used a house made vinaigrette as the dressing. My dad had a garden salad and their classic big mountain chocolate cake for dessert. Since it was his birthday. they also brought out their version of a Pazooki, cookie baked in a pan, topped with vanilla bean ice cream. I wasn't particularly a fan of the ice cream. Not sure if they're using the same ice cream company brand they used before, but this one kind of had a frothy texture and taste to it, whatever brand of ice cream they use try another one because that ice cream just didn't hit like it used to. Dropped off our son at the airport and rather than waiting in traffic, we drove south towards Redondo. Wife was in the mood for a steak so we found Black Angus and had the 16 oz Rib-eye. Took half of it home too. We added mushrooms to the steak as well as twin lobster tails. They were so good. We were there at Happy Hour so we had a whiskey [Early Times] and had a glass of wine with dinner [$2 discount during Happy Hour]. Josh our server was great and our food came out pretty fast. I have been here before - a loooooonnng time ago - and by that, I mean, pre-Yelp years! I remember enjoying it then, but this visit was different: I enjoyed it much MUCH more. I told Hubbers they were participating in the DineLA program this season, so it didn't take a lot of convincing for that return visit. We came through with about an hour and a half before closing (plenty of time!) and because of that, we were seated immediately. Since we were in for DineLA, it was the first menu I looked for. Oddly enough, they didn't have it. When I asked Tomas, our server, about it, it seemed he wasn't aware of it, so I showed him the menu via my phone. He said, "Ah! Yes, it's pretty much our dinner-for-two special." He guided me to that part of the menu (campfire feast dinner for two for the bargain price of $68.) The difference is very slight, so we went for that instead. Hubbers and I got the chance to take a good look around. The seating is difference (much more spaced out) and the lighting is much better. The change might be influenced by COVID-19, maybe?! Regardless, we really appreciate that they made these changes and that they survived the pandemic! Then the food started coming through: COMP'D MOLASSES BREAD: It's a good way to start the fab feast we were about to partake in. Great texture on the outside, warm and fluffy on the inside. Also a great palate cleanser. WAGON WHEEL SAMPLER: Well worth it for that additional $5. We had plenty of choices. The crispy fried garlic-pepper zucchini was cooked to a great seasoning and crisp. The chipotle buffalo chicken tenders were moist and good level of sauce. The shrimp cocktail was nothing to call home about but did help with cleansing the palate. Hubbers had both pieces of the loaded potato skins, and he seemed to like it, otherwise, he wouldn't have more than one. STEAK SOUP: I've never had steak soup in my life, I just HAD to try it. (It really was to satisfy the curiosity!) It was pretty hearty and tasty. It was perfect for a semi-cold SoCal night. It certainly hit a spot! FILET MIGNON: Also for an additional $5, but also well worth it. This was Hubbers' choice, but he gave me a small piece to taste. He had it medium rare and that's how it was prepped. So tender, so juicy, so delicious! They did this dish great! PRIME RIB: My choice for main, and for another $5 add, but I would have been happy to pay more: this dish was AM.A.ZING!!! I asked for it medium rare (like Hubbers' filet mignon) and it was so buttery-tender perfect! The outside crust was seasoned really well. The center wasn't too bloody or anywhere cooked more than its medium-rare level, and it was very tasty. I gave a generous piece to Hubbers and he enjoyed it as well. The rice was another good palate cleanser for in-between bites. FOOD: 5. There was nothing we did not like! SERVICE: 5. Tomas was perfect. He was very welcoming, he educated us with the items on their menu, and without his suggestion, we wouldn't have known about the additional discount we could use simply by signing up for the app! VALUE: 5. I know - there were plenty of $5 adds, but with Tomas' app sign-up suggestion, it offset pretty much everything! PLUS! They were generous with their servings. I had enough leftover for a 2nd meal! PARKING: Shared with others. There is plenty. This shouldn't be an issue at anytime of the day you come through. OVERALL: 5. FUN FACT: They have their own steak sauce! (We didn't use it - it really wasn't needed - but we had a taste, just so we can say we did.) I am craving that prime rib as I type this. If it weren't for DineLA (that we didn't even use - heh!) we probably wouldn't have come through, but boy, are we s0 glad we did! And it won't have to take a DineLA promo for me to return. Came for dinner with a group, made reservations online (I would highly recommend to do so as there was an hour wait when we arrived for dinner). Host was great accommodating a change of people in the party. Overall amicable staff but very slow to serve our table. Ambiance was great, dimmed lights, booth seating, and clean. Decent food and adult beverage menu, although nothing unique. Steak soup was okay, filling. Salmon was great, green beans and a little salty but fine. Topped it off with a smoked old fashioned (was good). Plenty of free parking in the adjacent lot. read more

From the moment we were seated, Kenny made us feel genuinely welcomed. He was attentive without being overbearing, and he anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. What really stood out was his kindness and positive attitude--he treated us like we were longtime friends, and his energy made our entire dining experience that much better. Food here was okay, service mmm could have been better, ambiance made me sleepy. Yeah I know it's black angus but it could use a little more ambiance cause the vibe is really off. I never order delivery, but I had to so the things that went well: I got my delivery in less than an hour, food was warm and packaged well. The things that went wrong were missing side dishes, but they were corrected with a gift credit to use on a latter date. read more
