Nice small place for a date night. Came here on a recommendation from a bartender at another place. The food was good and came out quickly. I had the chicken with a bruschetta appetizer. The bruschetta was pork, it was ok, it being cold threw me off. The chicken was good, it was very filling. Parking is a little tight and seating can be hard to get around when the place is busier.

The server puts our food down and says oh wait and then she lights the fondue fire! It was precious.

If you have grown weary of pizza, burgers, and fried food on the Island, this is a place for you! As always, we are noncommittal to a whole entrée each for two people, so we ordered the lamb dunks appetizer and large Caesar salad.... Four generous pours of wine (NO! We do not share this!) and we oh my goodness. All the food prepared was clean and delicious. The lamb chops were tender, juicy and absolutely complemented by the cheese fondue! I wasn't gonna dip my lamb chops in the sauce because it tasted so good on its own but my dining companion said have you put this in the cheese sauce and then I did and oh my God it was just so elevated! The butternut squash and broccoli was cooked to tender perfection and tasted absolutely phenomenal with the cheese sauce dip... And everything stood on its own without sauce as well. That's how you know something is good with or without sauce! So stop eating pizza and burgers and fried food after going to the beach! You deserve something better than that! A little pricey, but worth the investment in yourself. The service was phenomenal. Everyone there was courteous and respectful of our time. I don't know if this is a woman own business, but it was run by some very exceptional women. We've eaten here before and it was just as delicious... Pre-Covid and post-Covid.... It has endured. I'm going back every time I'm in North Padre Island.

Dear owner(s), this was the second time that I had dined at your venue & decided to review & #yelp my experience. First of all, great parking situation. Second, the hostess that worked each time was very friendly & pleasant as that's always the first impression. The cocktails both times were on point; a little pricey but delicious. Loved the food! So flavorful, so decadent, so refreshing! Appreciated the decor & vibe; very creative music & enjoyed the ambiance. The staff were really nice and they went above & beyond. I highly recommend this restaurant! I'll definitely be back!

I really wanted to like this place, especially because my child was acting like an 18 month old child will after a day at the beach, and the server took it like a champ... buuuut the food really just missed the mark for me... especially for the $80 I paid for three appetizers and one drink. I ordered the crab and lobster cake, lamb dunk, and bacon wrapped dates. The dates were over cooked and hard to eat, and the goat cheese wasn't even noticeable in there. The crab and lobster cake had very little crab or lobster in it, and a single small cake was $16. The lamb dunk came with two tiny lamb lollipops, a few scattered broccoli florets and sweet potato bites, crostini, and a cheese fondue that was a little gritty... after eating it, i still don't understand the concept...? The lamb was good, I just don't see how that plate of food goes with the cheese fondue? I also ordered the old fashioned at the server's recommendation. It was good, but standard. Nothing special. Overall - definitely not worth a second visit from me.

Place has great food! Broad menu and great for date night! Huge selection for cocktails and a very broad selection of bourbons! Staff are very friendly and owner shows face and very friendly! Great local spot!

This place is NASTY! Food had a burnt taste, we mentioned to the waitress and chef but they didn't even care. We do have to mention we came in pretty late , they need said kitchen was closed but they sat us anyways . I guess to be some sort of grateful I have to say service was great ! But I still don't wanna pay 32$ for burnt scallop, with Rissoto that looks like white rice. I'm sorry guys service is one thing food QUALITY another . Place looks runs down and dirty as well.

Seriously we had an amazing dinner here on our honeymoon. Everything was perfect from the service, atmosphere, and the food. They make amazing drinks too!!! Great fancy date night environment.

This upscale bistro is a hidden gem on the island. The food was cooked to perfection and was delicious. Quite the surprise on an island of mostly tourist traps. Some may find it on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. If your looking for some good food on the island definitely check this place out. I'll be back.

Since it was our first time dining at Republic of Texas, we were unsure of the checkout process. Our server mentioned that we could charge the bill to our room, but we wanted to leave him a generous cash tip. Unfortunately, he walked by our table several times without acknowledging us, and we waited over 20 minutes before I finally had to get up and practically head toward the kitchen to give him our payment and tip. We still left a 20% tip because we understand how busy Saturday nights can be, but when guests are sitting there with to-go bags, it only takes a few seconds to check on them and see what they need. That was our only disappointment, and although it was frustrating, I would not take any stars away because of it. We ordered the Bison Steak, Ribeye, baked potato, au gratin potatoes, quail knots, scallop appetizer, crème brûlée, bread pudding, and bread. Everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious. I ordered a white russian and my husband ordered one of their signature drinks, both were tasty. Our bill was $312 for 2 cocktails, 2 appetizers, 2 steaks, 2 sides, 2 desserts. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return if we are ever back in the area.

We came in about an hour before closing so the restaurant was nearly empty, but our waiter served us graciously and didn't miss a beat on amazing service. We had the calmari, kats meow (shrimp appetizer), and a steak with Mac n cheese and potatoes. All were amazing. I also had a caesar salad that paired well with the shrimp accompaniment that we ordered with the steak. Only watch out, is it was a little dark in the restaurant to me, but nothing unbearable. I would definitely recommend and whenever I'm back in Corpus I will return.

Here's my Clint Eastwood review, The Good, The Bad, and The Disappointing…read more The Good Location, not on SPID and all that congestion. Located on Spohn right off of S Staples, really nice location. This place is huge, with a giant bar, where we like to sit and dine, with an adjacent raw/Sushi bar, very nice. The bar offers a huge selection of adult beverage makings. We were celebrating our 39th anniversary, so a restaurant of this caliber is certainly appropriate. The drinks, a Tanqueray Martini with an Orange twist for her and a Manhattan straight up with four roses bourbon for me, were perfectly sized and delicious. The restaurant boasts a large freestanding humidor with a nice selection of cigars. I also noticed a wall of personal humidor lockers for customers to keep their personal cigars available. This all suggested a cigar room, but I never saw it. The wait staff, were mostly attentive. Instead of depending on your bartenders to deliver food, I'm more accustomed to restaurants, of this caliber, to have a dedicated wait staff for bar dining patrons. Especially considering they have a large number of high top tables for dining in the bar. Friday nights, like when we were there, get pretty hectic for the bartenders. For our second drink the bartender made mistakes on both our drinks, my wife's Martini came with Olives,(I liked them) instead of the twist of orange. My Manhattan came with her twist of orange instead of the usual Luxardo cherry. Perhaps if the bartenders just bartended they wouldn't make simple mistakes. ‍ . They were very nice and brought me a shot glass with several Luxardo cherries in it. Thank you Ladies! The food. We started with appetizers. My wife got their escargot that were traditionally prepared in an escargot serving dish rich with butter, garlic and a hint of citrus. They were delicious, albeit small. My wife was happy with them. I got their Crispy Calamari Atop Stir Fried Carrots, Green Onions & Cashews with a Kung Pao Sauce. This dish, for us, was the hit of the night. The calamari, instead of the rings so commonly served, were calamari strips. They were perfectly fried and the combination of the calamari, the vegetables and that kung pao sauce was absolutely mouth watering. If you like calamari I highly recommend this dish. You won't be disappointed. Entrees. My wife got their escargot Greek style rack of Lamb with spinach. The Lamb was perfectly seasoned and served medium-rare. It was absolutely delicious. If you like Lamb this is a great dish, oh and the chops were huge! The Bad. Nothing to see here. The Disappointing. I ordered the USDA Prime Ribeye with Citrus-Braised Baby Carrots & Whipped Potatoes and a Dijon Herbal Butter. I order my steaks cooked medium-rare "Pittsburgh style". First, everyone knows what a ribeye steak looks like, it has that very distinctive shape, you can't miss it. If what they served me was a ribeye, then I'm the true Bad Bunny! When the entrees were delivered they didn't give us steak knives, we had to ask for them. Now maybe they were that confident in the tenderness of the meat that they didn't feel we needed steak knives. Or maybe, just maybe, they should be tending bar instead of delivering food. Second the menu clearly states USDA Prime Ribeye. I know what that is, and what was served me wasn't that. As I stated I order my steaks "Pittsburg style". What that means is the steak is first cooked to an internal temperature that is 5 to 10° short of medium-rare. The steak is then immersed in either melted butter or tallow and then immediately thrown on a very hot grill. This causes the grill to engulf the steak in flames charring the outside of the steak and raising the internal temperature to medium-rare. I do it all the time on my backyard grill. While my steak did have some charring, it wasn't Pittsburg style. Conclusions. Would we go back? Absolutely if for nothing else to get that crispy calamari. Would I order the steak again? Not without getting some assurances that I get a Rib Eye and they know how to cook it Pittsburg style. I guess, in the end, this has all the potential to be a high-end steakhouse, for our visit I felt they didn't meet that expectation.
